Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams Review
Tak's back and better than ever in this epic tale of every's favorite juju master Tak! Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams is  easily one of  THQ's more popular  underground games, and while the Tak franchise is well.. dead i'd still recommend giving this cult classic a try(not to mention this is the best game out of the trilogy). Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams builds upon what was previous established in the first game both game mechanics and story wise, and while most people don't even know of this franchise or any background knowledge of it, it's ok because you don't need any prior knowledge of the previous games or the franchise in order to get into Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams story.

The Graphics within Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams are phenomenal given the game was made within the early 2000's . THQ really set the bar high and in my opinion spared no expense to create a vibrant and colorful lively world.  The color scheme within the world just blend well together and really "pop" everything is eye candy and the animation style is cartoonish but crafted in a way that feels like it adds alot of depth to the objects and people. In addition the world within Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams is alive you can clearly see the grass moving in the wind, butterflies and sprit's moving and flying across the screen. The characters all breath and drift back and forth creating a real sense of realism, the water sway's, the bushes bustle everything was created with a sense of realism and vibrant color.

The Sound in Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams is just what you'd come to expect from any gameboy advanced game only more in depth in my opinion. In Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams you can hear the footsteps of Tak moving, you can hear the water when near it , you can hear the change in tempo and overall sound when entering the dream realm, the animals all make there respective noises when you enter act with them or come close to them, my only complaint would be the sound track from stage to stage is a little repetitive and the characters themselves when they speak don't make a sound.

As for the addictiveness of Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams I for one found myself highly addictive to playing because it's easy to get lost and immersed into the world  do to that sense of realism and the vibrant and colorful environment of the world within the game. Another reason why the game was highly addictive is because the game is just pure fun comical and wacky it's just all around enjoyable and sets an example of how good role playing and fantasy games could be with the right mix of comedy and graphics and adventure. As for Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams replay value I for one am highly likely to replay it for nostalgic purposes and because it's just an all around good game that's fun and eases your mind.

For the story of Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams it goes something like this.. Tak has  been stuck in a dream for 16 days, while Jibolba, and Lok ponder how they can wake him up. While Tak is stuck in the Dream World he is sent by the Dream Juju to fight the Dream Guardian, take The Staff of Dreams, and save the princess. After Tak refuses, he is told that if he does not do this, he will be stuck in the dream forever. As he fights through the Dream World, he escapes through a Rift. When going through the rift, Tak wakes up, and Jibolba and Tak go find Jibolba's brother, JB. Lok wants to go, but Jibolba tells Lok to go fetch his magic sandals. Jibolba turns into a Flea to travel faster, and they set off on this epic wacky quest.

The depth of Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams, while the game isn't that big it span's across several stages and various environments like tropical forests, canyons, volcanic areas, snowy tundras and other harsh environments. There are also a number of dimensional stages, and in the Dreamworld that are accessed throughtout all the stages. In addition Tak also gets aid from various  animals in the game,  Tak also earns juju powers gradually throughout the game instead of having to seek them out like in the first game. Tak can also get certain animals to help him out in the real world by summoning them with juju. In addition the game has a multiplayer mode where Tak can team up and go either head to head with other characters or play through the game with Lok.

The Difficulty in Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams, The game honestly isn't that difficult the controls are easy to pick up on and run with, there aren't alot of combo's you have to learn or master, the game begins with a tutorial  that you can't skip so the control's shouldn't be an issue. The games bosses aren't that difficult and there isn't  multiple difficulty settings within the game. All in all what the game lacks in difficulty it makes up for in story telling and creating a realistic vibrant beautiful environment and comical funny dialog.

Overall Tak 2 The Staff of Dream's is a great game that excels at creating a fun, wacky  , immersive world with excellent graphics that are well ahead of it's time, with an entertaining story. In addition Tak 2 The Staff of Dreams is a game I think any fan of the fantasy role playing action adventure genre could appreciate and enjoy.
