Tails Adventure: Review edition   ZeroTails
This game. The game that made me search the web for a playable version, with no luck. When I finally played the game, I was not disappointed. This is Tails Adventure, a Tails-only game that I just love to death, and I’m gonna review it! On to the review!
Graphics:10/10
This game looks great for the Game Gear! The sprites are detailed, there isn’t any flickering from what I can see, and it looks better compared to your average Game Gear game. I’ll even say that it looks better than Super Mario 3! Well, the Game Gear is better technology than the NES... so that could have something to do with it. The Sonic games on the Game Gear does tend to look good, but I’ll say this tops MOST of the games. The only Game Gear game that looks better is Sonic 3D Blast, and that game sacrificed everything else that makes a game good for its graphics. Needless to say, this game gets a perfect 10 in graphics for me.
Sound:9/10
The music in this game is very underrated. Why? Well, the music is memorable, and they depict the right mood for the levels. The chaotic theme of Poloy Forest shows how the Battle Kukku Army, the main villain of the game, burned down the forest. Wouldn’t you be in chaos if you just had a vacation, and someone decided to burn everything down? The theme of Volcanic Tunnel is very catchy and gives you the feeling of being in a cave. The only problem that I have with the sound is how ear-grating the beeps can be. I understand that this is the Game Gear, but Super Mario 3’s soundtrack didn’t hurt my ear! This might be a little unfair, considering other Game Gear games also hurt my ears, but still! At least the sound effects made the music not hurt my ear as much.
Speaking of sound effects, they are done really well. The bomb sound effect sounds like a, well, bomb, and all the other sound effects are also very well done. The fact that the music hurt my ears a little is the only downside to the sound of this game, so that’s why it barely misses a perfect 10.
Story:7/10
Well, it’s more complicated than any other early Sonic game, but it’s no Sonic Adventure 2. Basically Sonic and Tails went on their own way after the events of Sonic 2, and Tails found this island. He took a vacation on this island, called Coco island, when suddenly a forest got burned down. This was caused by a group of birds, called Battle Kukku, and Tails went after them. While it’s nice that there is a story concerning Tails alone, with new bad guys, it’s still a very similar story to the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. The story is just average, so it gets an average score of 7.
Addictiveness:10/10
This game is fun. I have always gone back to it, and every playthrough was as enjoyable as the first. The levels are fun to explore, the levels themselves are different, and the levels are well made. The game doesn’t really get old at any point, and that’s really important to me. I might like a game, but if it gets old, I’m not gonna play it as much anymore. I don’t really feel that with this game. This is an explorative game, and the levels are designed for that purpose. More on that with the next category, though. I’ve never gotten tired with this game, so it gets a perfect 10.
Depth:9/10
This is an explorative game, and it’s naturally pretty deep. You get items from bosses or exploring, and you can use those items to… upgrade yourself or get more items. The chaos emeralds actually do something every time you get one! It increases your health (rings) and increases the amount of time you can fly. Items range from different attacks, a sound test, and better upgrades from previous items. You get a submarine at a certain point of the game, and you can also upgrade that. It does have a lot of depth, but it could have more. I don’t find it that hard to find the items, and there aren’t that many items. It still has a lot of depth, but it misses the 10 mark.
Difficulty:8/10
This isn’t a difficult game, really. Well, it’s not as hard as Sonic 2, but it’s harder than Sonic Chaos. You see, the health bar is basically replaced with rings. Enemies drop rings. Enemies don’t deal that much damage, so you shouldn’t be finding yourself dying all that much. Also, the game doesn’t really have bottomless pits, really hard platforming, or crushing. I find that the explorative aspect fits well with the difficulty, so I have no complaints except for the final part of the game. The game gets… easier (if you have all the chaos emeralds), and the final boss is a joke. I wish the difficulty balancing was better towards the end of the game, but that’s my only problem. This gets an 8.
Overall:8.9/10
This is a good game that I would recommend anyone to try out, and beat. The graphics and music is great, the levels are well structured, and the difficulty is balanced pretty well. It has a lot of depth, so you have an incentive to explore, and the rewards are worth it (usually). This is a true gem in my book, and you should try it. End of review.

Tails Adventure?   UncleBalrog
It's UncleBalrog here again with another game review! This time, it's for a rather obscure game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It's actually not about Sonic though. It's about his two-tailed yellow fox sidekick, Miles 'Tails' Prower. Just to let you know, this one of my favorite games in the entire Sonic franchise, despite it being one of the more obscure ones in the series. It's named Tails Adventure. If you can guess what this game entails, I'll give you ten bucks. Here's a hint, Tails goes on an adventure. Okay no money for you. But anyway, let's get to the review!
Graphics- This game is on the Sega Game Gear, which was pretty much Sega's NES. Tails Adventure was not the first Sonic game to make it to the Game Gear, but unlike most of them, this game didn't simply reuse Tails' sprite sheet from the previous games. They actually made Tails have his own animations for everything, and my god they are cute as hell. Tails is almost as cute as Kirby in this game. I'm serious, his sprites are that good. I also like the backgrounds for the stages, as well as the enemy and boss sprites. However ,the only reason that I don't give this a 10 is that in some stages, the blocks that you can bomb are VERY hard to see, and you'll find yourself missing a lot of items that you WILL need later in the game. Otherwise the graphics are excellent for the Game Gear.
Sound- I enjoyed this game's soundtrack a lot. All the tracks fit the area they were played in, and I also love the overall mood that it instills. It has pretty good tunes too. That is actually all I have to say about the sound in this game. I like it.
Addictiveness- The first thing you need to notice about this game is that it isn't based on speed. In fact, this game has something that almost no Sonic game has ever, EVER had. Backtracking. That's right, for once in a Sonic game you can move BACKWARDS. But that aside, this game is in a sort of Metroidvania setup. If you don't know what that is then look it up, I speak gamer here. As a result of that, there's plenty of stuff for you to collect in the world. Notably, the Chaos Emeralds. In most stages, there's a Chaos Emerald that you can find, which increases your Health and Flight Gauge. The Health is also different from traditional Sonic, in that you don't lose ALL YOUR RINGS when you get hit. Some things do 1 ring of damage, some things do 2 or 3 or maybe even 10 rings of damage. If your ring count is exactly zero, (say you have one ring. You get hit with something that does 1 damage, and now it's zero) then you die on the next hit unless  you get more rings. So basically, it's an adventure, not a race. And boy is it addicting. I found myself playing this game time and time again, and I don't think I ever hated one moment of the game. Maybe I'm just a fan of adventure games. The only problem however is that if you die, you get taken back to the menu and if you don't have a password for your save game then you have to start ALL OVER.
Story- This one is a bit odd to explain. This game has two separate stories, depending on if you're reading the English or Japanese instruction manual. That's why it gets a 5. I'll go ahead and explain each though.
English: This game takes place during a period of time when Sonic and Tails part ways. I think this is also when Sonic CD takes place, because if you'll notice, Tails was never in Sonic CD at all. Sonic wasn't in this game either. So after they part ways, Tails finds an island called Coco Island or something. He decides to live there, until the Grand Kukku Army invades. The Grand Kukku Army is an army of evil birds who are after the Chaos Emeralds, which somehow ended up with Tails on Coco Island. THEORY: If you played Sonic Riders then these guys may remind you of Jet, Storm, and Wave. They're birds after all. But now Tails needs to go and recover the Emeralds from the island, and defeat the army.
Japanese: The Japanese version takes place before Tails even meets Sonic. That's about the only difference though.
Depth: This game has a ton of things to offer, whether it's items, or Chaos Emeralds. The only problem I had was that there simply weren't enough stages in the game, as well as the severely restricted Inventory editing. You can only have 4 or 5 items on you at a time, and you have to go back to Tails' house to put stuff in your inventory.
Difficulty- This game can be irritating at times, but it isn't too hard if you get the Chaos Emeralds early on in the stage. Most of the bosses are made so that they WILL hit you plenty of times, which promotes you to get the Chaos Emeralds. After that you can usually tank through the bosses, unless you suck really bad at this game. Some of the stages are pretty difficult to get around, too.
Overall- Overall this game is OUTSTANDING for a Game Gear game, and I'm a huge fan of it. The only issues were with the Inventory and Game Overs. I'd say this is a must-play game, especially if you're a fan of adventure games. And Tails. He's so freaking cute in this game! But this is by no means fan service, this is a legitimate Sonic game. It just has a few twists, that's all. I recommend it to you. Play it man. There's a button right there that says PLAY GAME IN THIS EMULATOR. Click that now. C'mon, you know you want to. ...... Have you played it yet? Hey, I thought I told you to click the button. Click it right now!
.... Okay fine, maybe after you're done reading this review.

Tails Adventure Review   eggmanfat120
Tails adventure review: By Eggmanfat120
--------------------------------------------------------
Hello guys, Its me again, Eggmanfat120! I haven't done a
review in a while, so i thought "Hmmm... I almost have inuf
vizz for the beta test ticket... just 346 more viz 'till I have inuf,
and what a GREAT way to get vizz by reviewing a game!"
Anyways, I'm back, and ready for action! why don't we start
off then? Hmmmm... Why don't we start with the Difficulty?
Difficulty: 7
---------------------------------------------------------
You might be thinking "Oh, Why did you rate the difficulty 7?!
Is it really that hard? I heard its easy!" If you said something
like that above, well, your just plain wrong. This game is
actually quite difficult! First off, Levels are like a maze,
Completing them is quite a difficult task! If you missed a
item, like a hammer, from a previous level... Well you'll just
gonna have to go all the way back to that level, get the hammer,
go back to the new level and break the wall where it needed to
break! Next thing is, there are enemies everywhere! the later on
levels are littered with enemies! Owls that swoop down on you
at every turn, every end, EVERYWHERE! And... you want to
know what the worst part is??? You DON'T have any lives!
Thats right! Your energy runs on rings! you start off with 15
rings, and when you progress, you need to find chaos
emeralds to gain a extra 20 rings to your gauge! Its
pretty hard to find chaos emeralds though! (Trust me,
I own this game, got it for 5 bucks! What a deal!)
This is why I rated the difficulty 7. Lets head on to
the depth!
Depth: 8
--------------------------------------------------------
This game has plenty of depth, whether its finding the items,
Beating the bosses, collecting rings to survive... You guessed it,
there's plenty of depth with Tails adventure! First off... If you don't
get the Robo dog in this game... your finished. You need him to
transform into a submarine so you can go to the water levels...
And the levels... and the whole game is just pretty long all
together! So, there's really not much to say about the depth...
The game takes about 18 hours to beat, so... not too bad.
Story: 6
---------------------------------------------------------
This is the story:
Once apon a time, there was a beautiful island, named cocoa
island. Legend has it that the chaos emeralds slumber deep
within the island. The story happened before tails met sonic the
hedgehog... In the morning, it was a beautiful day, tails was taking
a nap outside of his research lab, but he woke up when there was
a big explosion! The whole island caught on fire, and tails house
was now gone. The island was taken over by the kukku, they
looked like mechanical birds... Tails now has to set out on
a journey to search for the chaos emeralds and defend his
island! Can tails do it? Its all up to you now...
The story is alright... Though I think I expressed it a little too
much, though the story does follow like this in the game!
Anyways, this is why I rated the story 6.
Addictiveness: 9
---------------------------------------------------------
This game is Very addictive! Why, your mind could go
nuts if you play this game for too long,  its simply
addicting, copying down all those passwords so you
can continue when you want! Anyways, this game is
really frustrating, and we talked about that already,
But its so frustrating in a way it makes you not want
to give up! Its like "Agh, I died AGAIN! All well, this game
is so good, I gotta continue!" You know that feeling?
Yeah, you know it. Its that same feeling you get when
dying on this snes game called "Ballz 3d". It is a fun
game at many parts too, like the bosses, their really
fun to go over and beat again, really! Anyways, you
get what i'm trying to get at, right? RIGHT?!
This is why I rated the Addictiveness 9.
Sound: 7
--------------------------------------------------------
I guess the sound is OK for a game gear game, I mean,
Its really simple! Literally! It is really simple, but in a nice,
soothing kind of way! Sega wouldn't want to make the music
rough in a strategy/adventure game! The music Is just
prefect inuf to win my opinion. I give it a 7!
Graphics: 10
--------------------------------------------------------
Wow, the graphics in this game look just nearly as
good as the genesis's graphics! The resolution is
really low (On an actual game gear) But that doesn't
really matter to me, because I'm used to low resolution!
Anyways, there are many good animations in the game,
like in the first level, when there's that lava stream overlaying
the whole entire level at the very back! Tails sprite does look
very similar to genesis games, except he walks differently,
and has some different animations. The enemy's, of course,
Look very good, compared to other sonic games on the system!
So, overall, I rated the graphics 10!
Overall score: 8.7
---------------------------------------------------------
Just a darn good game as always, Good job Sega!
All Sonic the hedgehog fans should know about this
game, Its a #1 priority to play it! So, overall... I encourage
you to play tails adventure! Check it out, if you have the spare
time, Its really neat! AND FRUSTRATING!!! >.<

Tails Adventure   Marcmoney
Tails Adventure is a cool game, even though I cannot play it because it is very slow for me. I would recommend getting this game, it is a whole lot of fun and you will enjoy it if your favorite character is Tails. Tails Adventure appears to have no story to it, but it should have it on Viz. :) Tails Adventure is what you may think very old, but what I think, it is not that old. It is a great adventure and Sonic fans would like this. Get Tails Adventure, I guarantee that you will enjoy it if you are crazy about Tails. :P

Tails has always been my favorite retro era Sonic character. (Espio being my favorite modern character.) This game is well-made and stuff but I just hate it for some reason.
