Street Fighter II' - Champion Edition Reviews

Overall 7.7    Graphics 10    Sound 9    Addictive 10    Story 5    Depth 5    Difficulty 5

9.5
This Street fighter 2 Port. IS very impressive for a 8 bit system   SuperCrash64
Alright Street fighter 2 was an arcade Game released. And Was going to be 1 of the most donimate Arcade games of the 90s. Until Mortal kombat came around but thats another story. Anyways  Street fighter 2 like a lot of arcade games. was gonna get Some Home console releases. Most People Would naturally get the Genesis or Snes port. Back then Until the Playstation and Saturn port came on later. Now you may think thats those were the only Ports of The original Sf2 right?. Think again There was A Pc Engine/Turbo grafx 16 Port of Street fighter 2 that was only released In  Japan.  My Guess for this reason would be A it probably was A Japanese Exculsive. Either that or Sega Had Some Exclusive Linceseing to Their Champion editon. Im not  really sure .
Plot This Plot Carrys On All the street fighter plots. even in The Super and Turbo updates. Anyways M bison Is trying to take over the world with his Pyscho Powers or Drive and Prove that nobody Was able to Match his Powers. With the Help Of Balrog .Vega. And Sagat.and other people all those People in M bisons Power. were Generally Known as the Shadloo. So as usual You Pick 1 of 12 characters . That Being Ryu .Ken Chun li. Guile.Blanka.E honda.Dhalism. Zangief. and the Boss characters. Balrog .Vega. Sagat. and M bison himself.
Alright Taking A look at The Turbo grafx 16/Pc Engine Port. This Version Really happens to look like the Super Nintendo port. Which in Terms of An 8 bit Console Is very impressive. i will actually say in my opinion this port Actually Looks better .  Because the Color Sceam is more vibrant .and makes the game Look Very crispy. Games Like These actually Showcased what the Turbografx was really capable of doing. it Includes all Characters.Details.And Most animations. 1 animation that is not in here. is The Cloud animation. In Blankas stage. But you Know Givng the system and its actually capabiltes . It rather does a really nice Job  of Capturing that Arcade   quailty look. Graphics Gets a 10
Sound All Sound Effects Has Been Ported Over. Meaning you ll get your Shroyuken Hurricane Kick and all those famliar Arcade sounds. Although they Have gotten slighty  altered. The meaning of This is Some voice Samples have some different Pitch voice to it. . The Soundtrack again is impressive for an 8 bit console. it Actually Sounds really nice. and accurate. But some songs have some weak sounding spots. in them again Giving the systems its actual capabitles. I Would have to rate Sound a 9.
Addictiveness. I find street fighter 2 and all its ports addicting for its Excellent fast. quick gameplay. awesome combos that are made by juggling. And the Grunts. It always seem like whenever you play a game like this you just  cant get enough of it. Addictiveness gets a 10.
Story Again I explained it in Plot. This story line is really nothing new for the street fighter series. its not the first storyline either .but I will rate it a 5. Note there was a Street fighter 1  and that Storyline was to defeat sagat.
Depth. I cant really say much for 1 of the first 90s fighting games. it does not really offer that much. you go around doing 12 fights that being the other characters metioned at plot. And the Character you picked. There are Bonus stages were you break cars. and Barrels. Thats fun but really thats about  all you can do in the game depsite the 2 player mode. Depth gets a 5 not really much to do
Difficulty First of All . In order to play this game properly. I had to use the netplay feature. But giving the actual ai it looks and nearly plays the same difficulty. as the genesis super nintendo. versions. It even features the same endings. only difference is the audio chip being used for the ports. I rate difficulty a 5
Alright Thats it for this review. In overall Rating i give this Very impressive port Of street fighter 2 a 9.5. I Mean You have to say its pretty impressive port for an Very very powerful 8 Bit system, 1 that even gives the Super nintendo Port a Run for its Money.

This version is actually really good. It easily rivals with the SNES and Genesis versions.
