Sonic jam review By: Eggmanfat120----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello everyone, and thank you for having
interest in my review on sonic jam!
This is my third review, So don't expect it
to be amazing, like the best review
in the world! Also I just became a normal
member on vizzed! It took 2 years
(Because I only started posting about last week.)
Anyways, with that out of the way,
Lets start!
Sonic jam is a game for the Sega Saturn that
is developed by the sonic team
and developed by Sega. Sonic jam was
released in north America on July 31st,
1997. This game is a compilation game
that includes: Sonic the hedgehog 1, Sonic
the hedgehog 2, Sonic the hedgehog 3,
Sonic & Knuckles and also includes
the lock on capabilities of sonic & knuckles:
Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Knuckles in Sonic 2,
and the blue sphere stages. Most people
back in the day bought this game so they
could have all the previous sonic games
that came out. There is also a little hub
world you can run around in and do little
things. Anyways, I am going to start with
the difficulty!
Difficulty: 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------
As you may know, I said that it is a compilation
of games above. Now, Sonic 1, 2, 3 and
knuckles are generally hard games. I have
noticed the older a game is, the harder it is.
( Well, at least sometimes.) Sonic jam is not
generally a hard game, besides the
compilation games. The hub world in the
game actually has little quests, usually like...
"collect 50 rings in 1 minute." These are not very
hard... But as you progress... It gets a little harder.
It will never get too hard, though.
Depth: 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------
There is not a whole lot of depth in this game.
The main parts is the compilation of the older
sonic games. But, besides that, like I mentioned
earlier, There are little quests in the hub world,
mostly collecting rings, though. Besides that,
There are also little things you can do in the hub
world, such as: The character house: Here you
can view all the characters and enemy's in the
sonic games, you also get little illustrations and
details about them, like what game they appeared
in. Music shop: The music shop really just lets you
hear music from sonic games and sound
affects. I bet you guessed that! The movie theater
has some little clips, for example: They have many
sonic commercials, and have a mini movie!
This is why I rated the depth 6!
Story: 0
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess This game kinda has a story... For the
compilation parts of the game, and of course,
you know what happens in sonic 1, 2 and 3...
Eggman tries to take over the world, he captures
the animals and sonic and tails have to free
them and defeat Eggman... Its a little bit different
in sonic 3... but it ends up being the same.
Besides that, There is no story in the hub world.
That is all I have to say.
Addictiveness: 7
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess... If your a sonic fan (Like me) You would
love this game, Who wouldn't? It has all the previous
sonic genesis games (Not sonic 3D blast and mean
bean machine) But its really convenient! Its nice to
have the compilation, but also a hub world to explore
in! This is why I gave it a 7.
Sound: 9
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The sound in this game is actually quit impressive,
for the Sega Saturn. It has nice, smooth jingles that
go along very well with the game, and the music
and sound affects are just great in the buildings!
This is why I rated the sound 9.
Graphics: 8
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The graphics are also pretty impressive for the
Sega Saturn, but definitely not the best on the
system. It has good textures for an old game,
which blend in with the hub world very well.
I personally like the textures and details in Sonic
jam myself! I'm sure you would too!
Overall: 6.8
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, I gave sonic jam a 6.8, which is not so bad. I
personally like Sonic jam, but it is not my favorite
game. I like the hub world as the best part in this
game... Well... Because it is just so nice (And plus I
own all the sonic games on the genesis) So... In
conclusion, I hope you liked my review Of sonic jam
on the Sega Saturn. Please read my other reviews!
I encourage you to try out Sonic jam yourself.
See you soon! :)
