Toot Toot Sonic CD Never Forgotten
As Time Passes things get remembered and things get forgotten the SEGA CD was pretty much a failure in the US and many people don't remember this system as it's popularity was very short lived and one of the few games that was even worth playing was Sonic CD which many people consider the best of the system.
Sonic CD basically plays almost similar to Sonic 1 in some ways, however there are some differences that really put this game at the top. First you had 2 ability's you could use in this game the Spin Dash/Attack and the super peel out in which sonic charges his speed then blasts off as soon as you let go of the button. Not only do you have those ability's but you also have a new concept...Time Traveling... In which Sonic could go into the Past & Future of an area and also returning to the present time (Future Time+Past Panels) (Past Time+Future Panels)
by using Time Panels that are found in many different parts of a level. Once you got up to the 3rd act you would have 2 outcomes of what Future you went to, the Good Future & the Bad Future depending on how you played through the last 2 acts you will get either one of those. Good Futures are caused by destroying the Time Capsules in the past time of act 1 & 2, Bad Futures are caused by not destroying the Time Capsules because of just speeding through the level to the end.
The Sound in this game..well it depends on your taste as the European/JPN soundtrack is different from the US soundtrack so it depends on what music you like better. The only thing that can't be judged by taste are the sounds of collecting rings, destroying enemies, time traveling, and the bosses at the end of each act. Since I like alot of the European/JPN music I would rate the sound high and the sounds that I mentioned above don't really seem that annoying or tedious so I think a 10 is deserved here in my opinion
Now The Story in this game is basically Robotnik/Eggman/ Fat crazy scientist whatever you wanna call him has imprisoned the animals on the Little Planet which hovers above Mobius at a certain time once a year. Robotnik tries to take control of the planet so he can get his precious hands on the Time Stones (No they're not Chaos Emeralds) so he can rule the planet for all time. However Sonic notices something is up at Little Planet as he saw it was chained to the ground by Robotnik so he darts off headed by Little Planet. When he gets there Robotnik sends out Metal Sonic to capture a girl hedgehog by the name of Amy Rose. Robotnik patiently waits for Sonic to head to his fortress.
The Reason I put the difficulty at 8 is cause sometimes it is hard to travel to the past or future as if you suddenly get stop while you're trying to warp then it will cancel out and you'll have to find another panel which is hard to do as you'll probably have to practice the level to get really great at pulling it off. The difficulty in the levels it self I would rate it a 6 but because of the Time Traveling problem that I explained I would say and 8 is the score for difficulty in my opinion
The games Addictiveness level is very high for me as you have several different things you can do each time you play. Get all the time stone, Go through all the good futures or go to future levels in every stage So 9 is my score for replay-ability
So that's Sonic CD for The Sega CD It personally my favorite Classic Sonic game. It's not my most favorite out of the whole series but I obviously can't do a review for that since it's not on vizzed in which I can most definitely see why but anyway back to Sonic CD. I love the aspect of time traveling that they put in this game as it gave it more of a powerful feel behind it as it made you feel like alright I got what I needed from the Past Time in this stage now I'm ready to fight Robotnik! Yeah Bring It ON! This is where I'll end the review cause you guys should play this game for yourselves and see what you think about it.
