Sonic Blast review G@mehe@d
Sonic Blast was released in 1996 for the Sega Game Gear and Master System. The Master System version was released in Brazil. The story is similar to all Sonic games except a little different. Instead of capturing innocent animals, Dr. Robotnik is mostly focusing on stealing the chaos emeralds. Sonic teams up with Knuckles to retrieve the chaos emeralds. Sonic Blast's graphics are ugly and stupid looking. I understand that Sonic Team is trying to create 3D sprites, but Sonic Blast is an 8-bit game. The pre-rendered visuals shouldn't be on there because like I said, it looks stupid. The pre-rendered graphics do have some advantages like smooth animations, but that just doesn't make up for the stupid looking sprites. Don't believe me, play the game yourself. The sound for this game is okay. It's very mediocre compared to games like Sonic Triple Trouble and Sonic Chaos. Those games were released 2-3 years earlier! Sonic Blast's music isn't as good as the previous games because it has slow music with few instruments in each song. The songs are short as well. I haven't found this game very addicting. I only beat it once and never played it again.Sonic Blast doesn't have very much to offer. Only 5 zones with 3 acts in each of them. There is also the final battle if you collect all the chaos emeralds. To collect chaos emeralds, you must find a large ring in the 2nd act of each zone. It's not hard to find them since the levels are small and lack attention to detail. You can also play as Sonic or Knuckles.Sonic Blast is not very hard. In fact, this game is good for beginners because its not very hard. The levels are short and I lost only a couple of lives.OVERALL RATING 6 :(PS: if you have a comment about my review. Please post a reply or rate it because I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong or if my reviews are to short.

I am shocked...... WaysideFan2002
Sonic Blast........I was so disappointed with this game.I thought it would be cool because the title had the word "Blast" which is a cool word. But Like they say,"You Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover."This is Sonic Blast released in 1996 for the Game Gear and in 1997 for the Master system.
Graphics-4
The 3d pre-rendered graphics are butt-ugly.I really don't like them. They have Sonic Heroes and Shadow The Hedgehog Syndrome,They are some what shiny at times if you look closely.I wish they made them normal 2d.
Sound-8
Like most Sonic Games,The music is brilliant! They are super catchy they stick in your head forever! But some songs in my opinion were annoying. My favorite track was the one in the Special Stage,my least favorite is the boss theme. It was just annoying and repetitive.
But overall, the music is not all bad.
Addictiveness-2
You will probably find yourself barely playing this, unless your bored or something.
Story-6
From what I've heard. The story is like this,The chaos emeralds separate so Sonic and Knuckles are out to destroy Dr.Robotnik (A.K.A Eggman) and collect the chaos emeralds! It's simple and that's what I like from a sonic game.but it's not an excellent story either.
Depth-3
The Levels,Zones,Special Stages, and bosses are very short.I beat this game in 39 mins (I had a stopwatch)There isn't even anything to do after you beat the game.
Difficulty-1
This game is not hard at all whatsoever, point blank.
OVERALL-5.5
I was really shocked with this game. The downsides are the crappy graphics, the short gameplay time, and the low difficulty. The only bright sides were the music and the story. It's not a terrible game,or a great one. It's a mixed game.I am a sonic fan,and If you're sonic fan.Stay away from this.
