Pokemon Stadium   Mynamescox44
Pokémon Stadium was released for the Nintendo 64 not too long after the original Game Boy titles hit the market. It offered the exact same style of battling, but with 3D rendered Pokémon as well as animations for their attacks. The game features all 150 of the original Pokémon, and even features some real voice acting for announcers that do commentary during the battles. There's a couple handful of mini-games to play, and the game also supports local multi-player. It even has a device that plugs into your controller, and you can upload your Game Boy Pokémon team into the game to use for battles on the Nintendo 64! This game was amazing for it's time, and is still super fun to play to this day. Anyways, on to the review!
Graphics 9 / 10 -- The graphics in the game are really well done. Every single Pokémon is colorful, full of detail, and look exactly as they should. Everything from their size to their color scheme looks spot on, and it honestly couldn't have been done any better. One of my favorite examples here would be Zapdos. Every detail on the Legendary Bird from it's beak and eyes, to each ridge on his yellow and black layered wings looks fantastic. The arenas they battle in look great, and remind you of what kind of "Stadium" you would see Ash from the anime battle in. There's a Gym Leader Castle Mode (more on that later) and the arenas there look especially phenomenal. Even the mini-games look superb in every way. One of these mini-games is a bunch of Lickitung must run around trying to eat food from a circular conveyor belt, pushing each other out of the way, and even the small plates of food themselves look incredibly detailed and easily identifiable (if you recognize Japanese cuisine, that is). There are also animations for all of attacks the Pokémon use in battle, and most of them are incredible. I'm amazed that every single individual Pokémon has their own animations, even having a few variations of said animations for physical attacks. Things like Surf use a universal animation for the attack itself, but again, every Pokémon has their own unique body movement animation for special attacks such as this. Another great example here would be Zapdos using an Electrical attack, as you can literally see each strand of lightning extremely clear and crisp looking. I wasn't a huge fan of the stat modifier effects, which are simply a circular aura that appear around the Pokémon that show an upward or downward arrow effect when it hits, but the effect in of itself doesn't look bad at all.
Sound 8 / 10 -- Overall the sound is pretty good. The cries for each Pokémon when brought into battle are ok. I would have really preferred they went with the anime style of the Pokémon simply speaking their own name, but sadly it's more like they sound what they would in real life, giving off a roar or something similar to that. There are a few who speak their name when summoned, but it's pretty few and far between. Using Zapdos as an example, it's cry sounds more like a bird shrieking than anything else. Something I really appreciated in the game is the fact it has real voice acting for commentary on the battles. The announcers will call out things such as a critical or super-effective attack when it lands, or when a Pokémon faints sounding upbeat and excited as an announcer should. Sadly, there isn't a very wide selection of things for them to say, so hearing them say the same things over and over again can get annoying after a short while playing the game. The music is very good in my opinion, and definitely gives you the Pokémon vibe the franchise's music is so well known for. The battle music is intense and upbeat, just like in the other franchise titles, and the boss / special battle tracks are even more so. The music for the mini-games is very catchy and gives you a warm, fuzzy, and happy feeling when you hear it. I'd be lying if I said I never left the game on just to hear a few of the tracks the game has to offer. The actual sound effects are really good, an example being when one of your Pokémon use Surf in battle you can hear the waves swelling and then crashing down into your opponent.
Addictiveness 9 / 10 -- The game is extremely fun to play, especially if you love Pokémon. The battles have the exact same dynamic as the other titles in the franchise, and only add more to the experience. Another great feature here is there's so many different ways to play. There are tournament style championships to participate in, a Gym Leader Castle in which you must fight your way through each Gym Leader (and a few of their trainers / disciples) all the way through the Elite 4, you can compete for fun or competitively in the mini-games section of the game, or even play your Game Boy copy of the game on your Nintendo 64 using the connectivity device that plugs into your controller. There's not a whole lot to do outside of battling, playing the original game, or enjoying the mini-games, but if you bought the game in the first place for your love of Pokémon, you will really adore everything the game has to offer. Especially considering you can import your own team from the Game Boy version, you will definitely enjoy raising teams to participate in all of the various battles / modes the game has to offer. If you love battling Pokémon, this game will keep you coming back for more.
Story 1 / 10 -- I'm not even entirely sure this game has any plot to it whatsoever. More than anything, it's just different, or rather a more detailed way of battling Pokémon than what the Game Boy could offer at the time. Obviously it still follows the "Your dream is to be Champion one day" formula, but I'm not even sure this is presented any more thoroughly than Oak saying a few sentences to you in the introduction of the game. And even at that, I'm not sure he does that much (it's been a while since I've actually played the game).
Depth 8 / 10 -- The game has a lot to offer, but at the same time most of what is offered is along the lines of battling, just for different goals. In the Tournament section there are 4 different types of tournaments, each offering 3 or 4 levels of difficulty. The tournaments vary in what level Pokémon you are allowed to use. The 4 variations are level 15 - 20, level 35 - 40 (or maybe 30 - 35?), level 55 - 60, and level 1 - 100 (your highest level will be the opponents level for every Pokémon in this one). There are Pokémon you can rent with their own predetermined Move-Sets you can use to build a team, or as I said before, you can import your own Pokémon from the Game Boy version. You can also try your hand at the Gym Leader Castle, which allows you to take on each Gym Leader in order, as well as 3 trainers leading up to them who use similar typed Pokémon, or at least a similar style of battling. You also face off against the Elite 4 at the end of this. There are 9 different mini-games to play, and they all vary greatly. Other than the ones I mentioned already, a couple examples are a memory based game, where you must remember up to 16 directions you input one at a time with the D-Pad, increasing how many to remember each turn. If you mess a direction up, then you get a strike, and a certain number of strikes will knock you out of the game. Whoever lasts the longest will win, or if 2+ people make it all the way, they all get points for the win. Another mini-game is you must mash the A or B button as quickly as possible to fill up a generator with power as Pikachu or Voltorb, and which button you press depends on the color shown. Another interesting feature the game has, is if you manage to beat every battle tournament and Gym Leader in the Castle (as well as a secret battle unlocked by doing all of that), then you have the option of "resetting" the game kind of like a New Game Plus, in which everything becomes twice as hard. With the rented Pokémon, it was literally impossible for me to even get past Misty (I actually couldn't even get past the trainers leading up to her) in the Gym Leader Castle after the "reset."
Difficulty 7 / 10 -- Overall the game has a pretty average difficulty. On any given mode, the opponents Pokémon can only be up to 5 levels higher than your highest leveled Pokémon. When battling in the tournaments, your Pokémon will always be at the lowest level possible for that given variation. So if you're battling in the level 15 - 20 tournament, all of the rented Pokémon you can use will be level 15, though your opponents can and will go up to 20. In any mode the level is not specified, your rented Pokémon will be level 50, and your opponents can go up to 55. Though this adds some difficulty to the battles, with enough patience and attempts, every battle in the game can be won. You must pick a team of 6 before starting any given mode, and each battle will be a 3 vs 3 that you and your opponent choose from the 6. You have no idea which 3 your opponent will choose, and the computer selects their picks randomly (or by who has the best stats). The game's AI is pretty smart for the most part, and will break you down in the most efficient ways possible. As for the mini-games, even on the most difficult setting, destroying the computers is difficult but very achievable.
When playing on a New Game Plus, the game is borderline impossible to beat. If you don't raise your own team, do a very good job of it, and import them specifically for the battles in this game, you will almost certainly fail. I tried to get past Misty in the Gym Leader Castle probably 50+ times using all sorts of variations of rented Pokémon, and never even made it to the battle with her. Not once. And this was knowing exactly what type of Pokémon the trainers would be using...
Overall 8.3 / 10 -- If you love Pokémon, especially the core titles of the franchise, then you will probably love this game. It may not offer much outside of battling and mini-games, but the battling is why we all love Pokémon in the first place (at least why I loved it). If you want a good challenge in battling, I definitely recommend this game, especially when attempting the New Game Plus mode.
Hope you enjoyed the review :)

Pokemon Stadium Review   TaffyTheEevee
Pokémon Stadium is not like an ordinary Pokémon game.. (It kind a is actually). Instead of exploring a region, you have a choice of quite a few things. Such as Pokémon Stadium (like the name of the game), where you enter cups such as the poke cup and the prime cup.
Sound:10/10 This is some of the best music I've ever heard in an N64 game. It has a variety of music to listen to, but the music gets better and better every time you listen to it. The music is some of my favourite Pokémon music vie ever heard! It also has a lot of remixes. I could listen to the music all day long. If you were to listen to it, I can guarantee you will like it.
Addictiveness:10/10 This game is very addictive. It has a lot more to offer than just the Pokémon battling. There are mini games, you can transfer from Pokémon Red,Yellow and blue, and there is the Pokémon lab. I wake up to play this game everyday because I'm so hooked into it! Its very addicting.
Story:0/10 Well, the truth is.. There is no story. Well, you do need to Winn all the cups, but that's a goal, not a story. So this game has no story, just a goal for you to achieve. Its still fun though!
Depth:10/10 This game has a lot to offer. As I said earlier, three's a lot more than just  the Pokémon stadium. You can go to the kids club, which has even more mini games, you can climb up the gym leader castle as you beat all the gym leaders to get to the top, or you can just have a free battle with your friends. Whichever one you like.
Difficulty:5/10 It can be difficult depending on which Pokémon you choose. You get a pick of a lot of Pokémon, but you can choose any you like. ANY. Including legendarily such as Moltres,Zapdos and Articuno! ! If you do that, it will make the game a bit too easy. So, it depends on how you want to do it.
Overall: All together, I think this game is great. You can play with your friends, its very addicting, and it has a lot to offer! All together I give this game a 10. One of the best Nintendo 64 Games vie played throughout fizzed.

Pokemon 64   gamerforlifefor..
It's hard to believe that Pokemon is already celebrating it's 20th anniversary this year. Back in the old days of the mid to late 90's, the series took the world by storm, with nearly every kid in the world trying to catch them all and become the Pokemon Champion.  Back then, I had always dreamed of seeing the Pokemon I trained and grown attached with on my gameboy battling it out with a friend or my sister's Pokemon in 3D. I finally got my wish when Pokemon Stadium came out on the N64 back on March 6th, 2000. While most people know it as the first 3D Pokemon RPG, it was actually the second Stadium game released in Japan. With Pokemon Stadium being the first game released outside of Japan to be in 3D,  I was hoping that this would be the best game in the series at that point, but unfortunately, it wasn't. Red, Blue, and Yellow were far better games than Pokemon Stadium. Why is that you ask? Well, I'll tell you by making this review.
Graphics: 9/10 Out of all the Nintendo franchises who jumped into 3D in the N64 era, Pokemon Stadium is one of the most visually appealing to look at. With all your favorite Pokemon now having 3D sprites (which for that time period, looked very realistic), few N64 games have visuals as great as Pokemon Stadium. The main reason I love the visuals so much is because of how realistic the Pokemon looked on the N64. Each one's as well detailed as you could possibly expect them to look on the N64, and honestly, each Pokemon look far better than the characters in the N64 Mario games.
If I were only judging the graphics purely on character designs, this would get a 10. Unfortunately, the game's backgrounds are kinda lackluster, and they have very poor textures. Fortunately though, the attacks are just as beautiful as the Pokemon themselves, with some of the best moves such as Thunderbolt, Explosion, and Fire Blast looking as epic as the moves actually are. Honestly, while the backgrounds may not look all that appealing, the Pokemon and their moves look incredible enough for N64 standards for me to give the graphics a 9.
Sound: 4/10
One of the most disappointing aspects of this game is the mostly underwhelming soundtrack. Pokemon Stadium's soundtrack mostly consists of remixes from Pokemon R/B/Y. Unfortunately, the only song in the entire game that's actually an improvement from the Gameboy games was the Gym Leader Theme, which is basically a rock remix. The rest of the soundtrack however is one of the most disappointing I've heard in an N64 game. One of the worst examples is the Rival theme, which doesn't even come close to being as epic as the theme from R/B/Y, or any of the other versions of that theme that have ever been made.
As disappointing as the soundtrack is, the worst part about Pokemon Stadium's sound is the announcer. When you attack, he'll say the same stuff multiple times when you do a certain action, which gets annoying really quickly if you're in a long 6 on 6 battle. Whenever you sit around doing nothing for too long, he will start saying stuff like "The Pokemon are staring each other down", "The trainer hasn't issued an order, and "What's the matter trainer?" over and over again, which also gets extremely annoying. Literally the only good quote I've heard from him is "what's the point of splashing?", and let's face it, who uses splash in battle? Nobody! The combination of the annoying announcer guy and the disappointing soundtrack give me good reason to give the sound a 4.
Addictiveness: 7/10
Pokemon Stadium is still to this day one of the more entertaining home console Pokemon games out there. While it may be lacking in the story and content departments (which I'll get into later), it succeeds in the main thing people wanted to see from Pokemon Stadium, awesome 3D Pokemon battles. The battle formula is unchanged, but the battles themselves are far more realistic here than in any game in the series before it. The gym battles and tournaments you compete in are entertaining to compete in, and the minigames in Kids Club are also a fun distraction when you don't feel like battling. The game lacks a storyline, and it doesn't have any exploration that previous games in the series had, but the gameplay is good enough for me to give the addictiveness a 7.
Story: N/A The most disappointing aspect of Pokemon Stadium is the fact that it does NOT have a storyline. When I play a JRPG, I expect it to have some sort of story even though the Pokemon series isn't exactly known for it's storylines. This game however doesn't give any sort of plot, which was very disappointing at the time. With this being one of the only JRPG's made for the N64, it would've been nice to see some sort of plot, even though it wouldn't have been able to compete with the likes Final Fantasy 7. As much as I want to give this category a low score, the fact that it doesn't have any sort of plot forces me to leave this category blank. I may not be able to give it a score, but it will effect the overall score I decide to give this game.
Depth: 5/10 When being compared to Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, Pokemon Stadium doesn't have a lot of content to offer. The main modes this game has are Gym Leader Challenge, where as the name suggests, you take on the gym leaders and try to become the champion. There's Stadium mode, which is where you compete to win tournaments with each cup having a specific level requirement for your Pokemon. The 3rd mode is Kids Club, where you take part in minigames, which is similar in a way to Mario Party. There are a total of 9 minigames to do in that mode. The 4th mode is Free Battle, which is basically just a regular battle where you can fight against another player, such as a friend. There's no region to explore, no story to get involved in, just a few game modes... I expected more from the first 3D Pokemon game released outside of Japan. Overall, there isn't a lot of depth to this game, so I'm giving this category a 5.
Difficulty: 5/10 When it comes down to toughness, there are far harder games on the N64 than Pokemon Stadium. Even if you're playing the game on vizzed and don't have a team from red or blue, the game is still pretty easy to beat. You can pick a team of 6 from the first 149 pokemon to complete the game with, so the gym battles pretty easy to beat, assuming you pick a really good team. The minigames aren't that tough either. Since this game is pretty easy to beat, I'm giving this category a 5.
Overall Score: 7/10
Pokemon Stadium will always have a special place in my heart because it provided me with my first experience with playing Pokemon on the big screen. The Pokemon's 3D models and attacks looked fantastic for it's time, and it provided some of the more epic battles at the time of it's release due to it being in 3D. Unfortunately though, the fact that Pokemon Stadium doesn't have a storyline, it's soundtrack was poorly made for N64 and Pokemon standards other than the gym leader theme, and a lack of game modes prevented Pokemon Stadium from being one of the best JRPG's from the 5th generation of gaming. It's still a very fun game to play from time to time, and it along with Pokemon Stadium 2 are great ways for vizzed users who don't have a 3DS, N64, or GameCube to play Pokemon in 3D. Overall, Pokemon Stadium is good enough for me to give the final score a 7 out of 10. I hope you enjoyed this review. Also since this is Pokemon's 20th anniversary, you can expect to see a lot more Pokemon reviews from me this year.

Pokemon Stadium   XxEzraxX
Well, I was bound to review this game sooner or later. Pokémon Stadium 1, or should I say Pokémon Stadium 2? I bet you're wondering why I would say that, well back in Japan while this game was still getting worked on there was such a high demand for it that they released a version before the American release of this one Pocket Monsters Stadium. We never got this version here in America (aside from emulation that is), and it was pretty easy to see why. Pocket Monsters Stadium was really buggy and most of the Pokémon looked ridiculous. However, I digress this review is not going to be about Pocket Monsters Stadium, but instead its American counter-part Pokémon Stadium.
When I was a child I never got this game, instead I got Pokémon Stadium 2 it was actually only recently had I acquired this game from a friend who really wasn't that into Pokémon (he also gave me his Pokémon Snap because mine disappeared). So this review shall be pretty thorough, I rated the game an 8.8 I would have given it a solid 10 if there weren't a few problems that I encountered. Don't get me wrong it was a wonderful game and I highly recommend it to all Pokémon fans, whether you are a battle everyone kind of trainer or a casual trainer. The problems that I have with the game a very slim, but here they are:
1. The announcer gets on my nerves! But that is more of a personal reason, some of you may enjoy the announcers company. It's just that he says the same things over and over, often times it doesn't even really make sense. For instance, say you deal a lot of damage to your opponents Pokémon, then the announcer chimes in with "that wasn't very effective" even though your opponents Pokémon is very low on HP because of that one hit.
2. Some of the type advantages and disadvantages do not comply with each other, it is not very often that I ran into this problem but I noticed that every once in a while if you have a Pokémon that has a type advantage over your opponents Pokémon the games disagrees with you. I thought this was odd, since I play strategically and type advantage is kind of important for that.
3. Rentals all having specifically one level, unlike your opponents Pokémon if you have rentals your levels are either 15, 50 or in very rare cases 100 (takes a while to use the level 100s, which makes sense). I know it is kind of a small detail, and if you are handy with rental Pokémon this is not really much of a problem but it just kind of gets to me. I mean why can't some of your party be a level or two higher like your opponents? This would be different however, if one had the gameboy pak for the Nintendo 64 and a copy of Red, Blue or Yellow where your party can be added to the game. Also if you nicknamed your Pokémon in your copy of R/B/Y they appear in green on the game screen.
Those are the only problems I had with the game, and again not really that big a deal. They don't affect that much of the game play. Now if you are not that into battling, or you just want to take a break from the battling system you can play tons of fun mini games that are offered. These are entertaining, and quite enjoyable. Since there are quite a few mini games I'm not going to review them. Now on to the more important part of the review, my actual analysis of the game.
I gave the graphics of this game a 9, because for Nintendo 64 graphics they really were not that bad. Maybe a little bolgy, but they were suppose to look realistic and 3Dish. The game was suppose to convey what these creatures would actually look like in our world and I think that Nintendo did a pretty good job. The sound I gave an 8, the music can be kind of enjoyable the only time I ever got even slightly tired of hearing it was when I put down my controller to take of something and you hear nothing else but the music. Other than that, the sounds the game makes are not bad at all.
The addictiveness of the game I gave a 9, because although I would very much rather play one of the handheld versions of Pokémon this game was still really fun and I can play it for hours if not days at a time. I hardly ever get bored of the game, and if I happen too I just do something else on it (like play a mini game or take on the Gym leaders/Elite Four). I did not rate the story, because well there is no story. You do not traverse the region of Kanto, or any region for that matter in search of wild Pokémon even though you do collect badges and battle trainers and the Elite Four not to mention your Rival. However, the game never once tells you that you have to do all of this so in a sense it is all opinional. You can spend your whole playing mini games or having free battles with your friends or even playing your handheld versions on the big screen (with the gameboy pak that is).
However, for depth I gave the game a 7, because even though there is no story mode or anything like that actually completing the game takes a really long time. To actually and totally complete it you have to beat all eight gym leaders, beat the elite four and your rival, beat all of the cups some more then once to gain all of the trophies and finally beat Mewtwo (who you then gain as a rental Pokémon). All in all, that is pretty time consuming. Which actually brings me to the difficulty, which I rated an 8 because at first it is not that hard once you start but after a few matches things become extremely difficult. There may even be times where you want to smash your controller, or throw the game.
Well that is all I think I have to say about Pokémon Stadium, I do really enjoy this game and play it a lot actually and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Pokémon. It is fun and can be quite challenging at times. I hope you all, whomever reads this review, becomes interested in the game and enjoyed my opinion of the game. I also hope that if you do play the game that you really enjoy it like I do.

Pokemon Stadium   supercool22
Pokemon Stadium : Game Review by supercool22 ( pokemon fan )
Release Date : 2000
System : Nintendo 64 ( N64 )
Publisher : Nintendo
Developer : Nintendo Co.
Genre : Role Playing Game ( RPG )
Country Origin : US
What i know about this game ?
Pokemon Stadium was released on the year of 2000 , the Developer was Nintendo Co. and was published by Nintendo , it was made for the Nintendo 64 as a Role Playing Game ( RPG ) mainly like all of the pokemon games ever made , the country origin was the US , well thats all i know about so lets get to the Category . :D
Overall : 10
Pokemon Stadium is horribly great in more ways than one , i will like to tell that i had this game about 3 - 4 years ago with a few other Nintendo 64 games , but sadly i have no idea what happened to my Nintendo 64 , it must of got lose or something , but lets just say this game was my favorite :D .
Graphics : 10
The graphics of this game is freaking awesome , its basically in 3D and thats good for any game , but even though its kind of a strange 3D ( i mean the 3D on the pokemon looks all jagged not straight ) but in many ways these graphics makes Pokemon Stadium way better , even if it wasn't in 3D it would be great still ( when i mean 3D , i mean like in real life ) .
Sound : 8
The sound or music is something that everyone on vizzed likes a lot even me , the music is just like the music from Pokemon Red / Blue / Yellow but a little better than before . The sound effects are really outrageous , when you use a move its like a real life sound or what ever but the sounds are clearly great .
Addictiveness : 7
Well i will like to say that Pokemon Stadium is Addictive in some ways , i don't play this game all of the time but I'm more likely to play this game again and again , maybe all of the time but it does get boring playing the game most of the time it is a great pokemon game though .
Story : 3
There is a reason why i rated the story a 3 , its because i don't know whats the story in Pokemon Stadium , maybe you have to get every Cup and beat every gym leader to become the master of this game , but i might play this game to see if there is more to the game than what i see right now .
Depth : 8
The Depth is basically the same in every pokemon game and i mentioned this in every pokemon review that you could defeat trainers and Battle gym leaders but there are two things that are different for this pokemon game , one is that you can't catch pokemon but you could rent them and two you could play pokemon mini games .
Difficulty : 7
Pokemon Stadium is the hardest pokemon game i have ever played because of not only the mini games are hard but the pokemon trainers and gym leaders are hard too ! I'm not kidding .
Well thats it for another good review , hope you all have a great time :D

Pokemon Stadium short and sweet review   Divine Aurora
Pokémon Stadium was made by Nintendo and is the first Pokémon game to come out for the Nintendo 64 platform/system. This game has all 161 Pokémon from the first  generation.. In this game you compete in either the poke cup, great  cup, ultra cup, and the master cup, with any Pokémon you choose. You make the full 6 Pokémon team, but only three picks out of your team can enter battle with you, so pick your three wisely.
Graphics: 10
The games graphics can't really be compared to any other Pokémon game, To me the graphics in this game visual and colorization wise is of way better quality, then what was seen in the handheld Pokemon games . The Pokémon look very realistic and the details in there design are spot on color and form of the Pokémon wise. The Pokémon, and  the stadium of which you battle in, as well as there animated moves are all in 3-D, which only added to the games appeal, but the game does lag/ freeze a little during game play.
Sound: 10
The games sound isn't all that appealing, it offers nothing new. It has the soundtrack heard in the generation one  games( example: Pokémon Red l). The acoustics and sound quality heard in the game are fine. The Pokémon cries can easily be recognized and heard and in my opinion has a bit more distinction between them. In this game even the power moves have sound which only adds to that real life feel that you get when playing this game.
Addictiveness: 8
Well for a game with virtually no story or dialog this game is highly addictive. I found my self playing for hours upon hours just battling the cups, and frankly I really was just fine with the fact I didn't need to train any Pokémon or beat gym's like some of the other Pokémon games. This is truly a game for Pokémon fans that just want to battle, and since you can battle non stop it has countless hours of game play. I would reply this game in any free time I would have, but its just suck a long game, but in keeps you very interested and ecstatic to play!
Story: N/A
Well (sigh) this game has basically no story or dialog in it really, basically you are a expert Pokémon trainer and are competing in a series of very challenging competitions that push you common knowledge of Pokémon and their types to your limit. You compete in various challenges which difficulty goes as followed Poke cup- easy, great cup-fair,ultra cup-medium/advanced, and master cup-expert/intense. So  there is no real dialog in it, as well as a protagonist or antagonist.
Depth:  5
The game is huge, in terms of what you can do and as well as the diversity in the different battle cups. The game takes well over 24 hours to beat, because the game's A.I. Uses different battle techniques in each battle. The game offers players the chance to battle to see who is what many hope or wish to become a Pokémon master! I estimate the time to beat this game is well over 5-6 weeks. (on a side note if your not using a gaming PC controller, you can't do feature this game has to offer.)
Difficulty: 7
This game is very difficult. The games A.I. Was clearly updated from anything I've ever seen or experienced from the Pokémon Franchise. What made this game so hard is the A.I.'s ability, when it comes to resourcefulness to plan and execute tactics that will easily crush your Pokémon team if your team is not well balanced and diverse when it comes to the Pokémon types.
Overall: 8.9
Overall because if your playing using a PC controller you can use all its features, and the game lag's a little bit during some battles. What all so made me rate the overall a little low is because the lack of story and dialog. I recommend this game to any one who wants to play a Pokémon game, where there skills at Pokémon are put to the test and for the Pokémon fans who just love to battle constantly none stop.

Pokemon Stadium Review   linkmaster99
Well here is a game worth the time. Pokémon has finally moved into 3 dimensional figures. I would like to compliment this game for being a fun expect on the matter. This game has many other ways to surprise me :). Pokémon Stadium, and a awesome great game which has the ability to let you play Pokémon in 3 d.  Unless you've been living under a rock for two and a half years you've heard about the Pokémon craze. Nintendo has released hit after hit of Pokémon games with many more on the horizon. This craze comes to the Nintendo 64 in the form of Pokémon Stadium; a game in which you once again battle Pokémon, but in an arena type environment. While this is a new and good way to battle your Pokémon, and the game isn't just battling, I just found something very amazing, and hard hitting/ hardcore battles. This is a nice game. Well let me get started with this review :).
Graphics: 10
The first thing that almost everyone wants to do when they plug this game in is to start battling either the computer or a live enemy. The one thing you will notice right away is that there are several differences from the Game Boy's combat system. The two main ones is the fact that you gain no experience from any of the battles and that you cannot use any of your items in battle. Another thing that people will have to get used to is that during most events, only three of your chosen six Pokémon may be used in battle. With this in mind, several of your strategies may need to change so you don't need to count on certain things. With these changes in mind, the fighting scheme is exactly like the Game Boy games, except in 3-D. That  is really some of the great things on this game. Now I know most of you are used to 2 D figures this game makes big differences.
Sound: 8
The music in this game generally remains in the background and you hardly notice it. While this means that it doesn't really have an annoyance factor, there also isn't any stellar compositions to make this game memorable to the ear. One thing that can get annoying however is the announcer. With a very limited words of speech, and continual comments throughout every single action, it certainly is a nice option to be able to turn this guy off. So yes basically, I would say the music isn't half bad, but the thing that can get highly annoying, if how the announcer says things that the ear does not need to here.
Addictiveness: 7
This game unfortunately doesn't have a whole lot to offer in originality. You can take pictures of your Pokémon, but the views and backgrounds are quite limited. If you have a Pokémon that you want a picture of and it's in Pokémon Snap, take it there and you'll have a much nicer shot. The mini-games aspect of Stadium is enjoyable, but somewhat limited in my opinion. These games could have used some extras in them such as choosing different Pokémon, choosing different backgrounds, or even more mini games. One of the things that I did like in Stadium however is the fact that you can find out a lot more about your individual Pokémon and their attacks. Learning exactly the accuracy and power level of an attack is a definite good thing. Still however in my opinion, I still think very highly of this game, and it does have it's moments to the fact it gets way better than expected :P.
Story: 1
My main beef of this game is that it *has no plot*. There is absolutely no storyline to Pokémon Stadium unless you count the fact that you can play the your Game Boy cartridges, which I don't. I have always preferred my games to have some sort of attraction besides mindless fighting. This game does offer more, but not much. Still though it is quite annoying how the game has no absolute story over anything. All this game is all just battles. I know that is a good thing, but it would have been nice if we could embark on a great adventure. That would have been a much bigger improvement towards this game. If only it would be like that I would have the balls to say that is the best game ever. 3 D adventure. Sounds pretty whop butt don't you think :).
Depth: 6
Well I really wouldn't get high hopes for this game, but if I can say it is quite interesting. Nice long, and on the run. Still all it is is simply Pokémon battles. Nothing more, nothing less. I would say though you can access other feature on this game like, fighting gym leaders, and other thing, but I still wouldn't be so surprised because it isn't the same as a adventure. This game has a lot to offer, but it would have been a lot more, if it had a plot, and a end game setting. That would be real nice to see, and a lot easier to understand. So basically what I am saying, this game is VERYYY low on depth. I am being 100% serious with you all, if you try out this game expect to have no type of adventure like ordinary Game Boy Advance, or Nintendo games Pokémon Games Point Blank.
Difficulty: 5
The difficulty of this game really depends on what you're using for Pokémon, and what their levels are. For the cups with lower level Pokémon, strategy is a key issue. In the other cups power comes into play more as you can have many one hit kills if you play your Pokémon right. Overall, if you've got the patience to level up your Pokémon to amazing levels, you should do fine in this game. If you're using rental Pokémon only however, the cups become a lot harder at the upper levels. The Computer is allowed to have higher level Pokémon then what you can rent. The time to truly complete this game greatly varies from person to person. If you only want to finish the game with all 150 Pokémon in the Hall of Fame, it's going to take an awful long time to get them all there. I know because, when I used to own this game for the original Nintendo 64, it took a lot of time out of me to get Pokémon, and I never evan completed that part yet.
Overall: 8.9
This game's main attraction is combat, and luckily for the younger fans of this game, this game is laid out so almost everyone can catch onto the basics as soon as they pick up the controller. This is both good and bad in a way. While you can get into all the attractions this game has to offer quickly, it means that other than your own Pokémon there are very few things you can actually tweak in this game. In conclusion, I feel that Pokémon Stadium is not the worst game out there to play, but it certainly does not hold my attention for long. The game has no definite goal in it besides win the different cups, get additional Pokémon by defeating the Elite Four, or making your Pokémon game play much faster on your Nintendo 64. While fighting your Pokémon is enjoyable, it can get old after a while. I personally played this game constantly for about a week, and then I went on to other things. For me, this game just didn't live up to the hype.

Best Pokemon Game   jet252
Pokemon Stadium is a very unique game. The Pokemon Stadium offers variety of features: card game, train the creatures to fight on your Game Boy, watch the movie or TV show, and snap pictures. The downside of Pokemon Stadium is it's NOT much of a storyline. While on the other hand the Pokemon look great! The Pokemon battle animations are a little drab. It would be nice to see more Pokemon movement during the battle or physical contact with one another. Another downer is the announcer has a very limited amount of speech. You will basically hear the phrases over and over. Besides the tournament, their are mini Pokemon games which look like arcade games. The mini games mostly tend to involve Pokemon hitting a target until a Pokemon is declared a winner.  Overall despite some negativeness of Pokemon the game is an incredible playing experience.

Pokemon Stadium: My very first Pokemon game.   Mega Mewtwo X
The first Pokémon game I ever played: Pokémon Stadium for the N64 released on March 1st, 2000. I was 6, I and my family were packing everything up to move at night, and I saw my big brother playing a peculiar looking game. I asked him about it, and he told me it was Pokémon Stadium for the N64. Then he showed me how to play the game using Mewtwo, which in turn made mewtwo my favorite Pokémon of all time. However, I am getting off topic. So let’s jump in! This is my review of Pokémon Stadium for the N64,
Story (1): There IS no story to this game. You just battle people. It’s not meant to have any type of story, so here’s a quick rundown of what any story any section of this game has.
Stadium: Compete in 4 different cups, Prime, Poke, Petite, and Pika cup. Prime And Poke have 4 cups, while Pika and Petite have only 1. Each cup has 8 rounds, all with 3 Pokémon for the battle. You can choose your own, but the game as a whole is much better if you have a transfer pack, as you can transfer your Pokémon from Pokémon red and blue to stadium. It came with the game, but if you don’t have it or lost it, you’ll have to suffice with crappy rental charizard that has dig, fire spin, and NO FLAMETHROWER. (Even at lv 100)
Gym Leader Castles: Compete in 3 on 3 battles against four people in each gym. (3 normal people, then one gym leader.) Once you beat a gym leader, you get the key to open the next door to the next gym leader. Then the elite four, then finally, your rival. Once you beat your rival, you get a free Pokémon to transfer to red and blue but it’s pointless if you don’t have the transfer pack.
Pokémon Lab: Only works if you have transfer pack lets you transfer Pokémon back and forth the game, moving on.
Gameboy Tower: As I didn’t have the transfer pack to this game when I got it, I have no idea what it does. Moving on.
Free Battle: Allows you and your friends to battle. Transfer pack really shines here, as this is the main point of the pack.
Minigames: Random minigames to play when you’re bored of the real game. Has 9 minigames, but this is dragging on so I don’t want to say them and waste more time, moving on.
Vs. Mewtwo: You face off against mewtwo in a 1 vs. 6. Yes. A 1 vs. 6. But even with 5 extra Pokémon, Mewtwo will still kick your butt. Beat Mewtwo and you unlock R2 mode. It just makes everything much harder.
Hall of fame: Once you beat your rival or beat a stadium cup, you Pokémon on the team go in the hall of fame. Get all 151 in there and unlock a psyduck with amnesia.
Depth (9): Getting all the Pokémon in the hall of fame can take you up to several months. And that’s not including R2, stadium, gym leader castle, and vs. Mewtwo. Even after that, the game still has minigames and free battle. So it’s not like you’ll run out of stuff to do. And for that, depth gets a 9.
Difficulty (5): As a kid, I would’ve given this game an 8. I didn’t know types back then, so I would always fail. But today? I know my types, so this game doesn’t necessarily give me any trouble. R2 can be a pain, which is why this game doesn’t have a lower difficulty score. So for that, I give difficulty a 5.
Addictiveness (7): Pretty much the depth. You have a lot of stuff to do in this game! Stadiums, Gym leaders, free battle, getting all 151 in the hall of fame, Vs. Mewtwo, and let’s not forget the R2 mode. The ENTIRE R2 mode. However, since all you do is battle, battle, and battle without raising any Pokémon in the game, it bogs the game down. And for that, addictiveness gets a 7.
Sound (10): I LOVE the soundtrack to this game. My favorite? Probably the rival battle music. And the round 8 battle for the Prime cup. There’s also the Vs. Mewtwo theme……SEE WHAT I MEAN? A lot of these tracks are very memorable and catchy! In addition, I can’t think of any that are bad or even mediocre IMO. So sound gets a 10!
Graphics (7): The 3d models look good for a N64. Every Pokémon has about 6 animations for every battle and a battle cry. The reason it’s not higher is because if you play it on vizzed, some of the sprites are messed up (I’ll never look at a rattata the same way again.) and for that problem, graphics only gets a 7.
Overall (7.3): Pokémon Stadium was a good game. It did nothing out of the ordinary but at least it was playable. If you didn’t have the transfer pack it could be tough, but not unplayable. I would only recommend this if you wanted a basic grasp of Pokémon because you want to get into the series. But if you like or want to raise Pokémon instead of battle, then don’t bother with this game. Its battle, battle, and yes, more battle without any variety. Thank you for stopping by to read my review. This is Mega Mewtwo x: Signing out.

pokemon stadium was the debut of 3d pokemon games and it was perfect for that role. i gave the graphics a 9 for perfectly captureing all 1st gen pokemon in beautiful 3d imagry and duing the same for every one of the special attacks. i gave the sound a 7 for it having the voice clips in the annoying announcer but no improvement to pokemon calls just the same calls as the gameboy games. i gave addictiveness a 8 becuse its pokemon its made to be addictive and drag you back in. the story is blank. i gave deapth a 9 becuse you have 4 trunamints with 4 levals of difficulty each then you have gym leader castle with 8 gyms the eliet 4 and the rival battle then all of the minigames then the mew/mew2 battle to unlock them to the rental pokemon list and with a gameboy pokemon red/blue/yellow game you can play that on the 64 with a transfer pack and then theares the free battles all of that in one cartridge. i gave difficulty a 7 the traner battles get vary hard vary fast. i gave over all rating a 8.5 its a incredible game to play even with the hard to beat traners. side note some content requires a transfer pack and pokemon red/blue/yellow/green gameboy game to use. why are you still reading this play pokemon stadium already.

If your a Pokémon player than play Pokémon stadium. This game has all the goods.

first we will start with the diffulculty. It was a normal difulculty challenging at parts but fun. If you like the fun 7 difficulty your on the same page with me. Know lets go to the sound. The sound was great a sound of 9. It has a nice melody and nice and on task sound. The depth was a nice offers a nice perk to the game. And the game has so much to offer. The story I accidentally clicked 8 thinking it was on addictiveness but if it had a story it would be good. And speaking of addictiveness I give it a nice 8 a good and level where it doesn't keep you inside all day. Know the game was fantastic a 9.8 and a fun game as well.

Pokemon stadium review   austipokedude
Pokemon stadium is the first in the series and is the prequel to Pokemon stadium 2 which was released on the Nintendo 64 as well.Pokemon stadium is perhaps the best nonportable console Pokemon game ever. Now lets get to the point.
Graphics:Pokemon stadium featured Pokemon in 3d.The Pokemon sprites looked great so I gave it a ten.The creators of the game worked really hard on the 3D Pokemon sprites and as soon as you get in a battle that's the first thing you notice. The moves looked great to as well.Moves such as flamethrower and thunder made it feel as you were commanding the Pokemon in reality.
Sounds:The Pokemon series is well known for its battle music. This game showed great music as well.Especially the opening intro and the battle music. So sound deserved a ten as well.Theres one thing that stands out in battles more then others. Its how real the announcer sounds which shows how much they wanted you to feel as though you were in the game.
Addictiveness:It's always never boring to challenge your friends to something competative. But excluding the multiplayer mode the battles in single player mode do get boring eventually. It makes you want to skip all the trainer battles and just move on to the gym leaders.I know I'm not the only one that has got that feeling before when playing this game.
Story:there's no story in this game but there are several Pokemon tournaments that you attend in to beat the game.Theres also gym leader castles you can beat to progress in the game. These two modes provide the person playing this game plenty of entertainment.
Depth:There are so many cups you can attend to progress the game. There are also the gym leader castle as mention before that you can attend in.But that's not all even if you beat all the gym leaders you have to challenge them all over again a second time this time there much more skilled and alot harder then when you challenged them the first time.
Difficulty:The game gets harder and harder when you progress the game.Especially when you rechallenge Giovanni the second time it took me about two hours just to beat him.The game would most likely rage you when you get to the second round matches they test your skills. The cups get harder as well so get ready for a real challenge.
The game overall is actually really fun it may be hard but who doesn't want a challenge every now and then.Theres plenty to do the music is great and the graphics are excellent how could the game possibly improve. This has been another review by me so let me wrap things up by saying this game is worth the money.

Nice game, huh.   Varrio
Overall:
A nice game from Nintendo. Everything's nice just like I want. The part of the last gym leader Giovanni was a bit hard, but was okay. And Mewtwo was just easy as I knew, a Psychic-type. I want the programmer to just improve the graphics, my Nidoking never had any EYES!
Graphics:
The graphics are good ,just a bit, as I mentioned before, my Nidoking never had eyes. If someone is able to improve the graphics then please do, everyone can be OKAY about that. Well, yes....
Sound:
It's the best music ever I heard, people playing this game can be always ready for humming the tune of the Gym Leader's Castle.
The guy doing the commentary is COOL!. By the way, he says "Got Doowwwnn in a one go!" then I get shocked because I think its cool.
Story:
No story, it's just a battle game.
Depth:
Not so big, I rate it 8, because the game gets beaten easily as my team was cool. So and so on.
Difficulty:
As I told, it's easier than I thought. And the funniest part when Mewtwo got defeated with my Flareon's Flamethrower. I rate it 8.
AND, my team is as cool as snow. I had a Flareon, Blastoise, Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Machamp and the most cool Nidoking. Well, that's the end of my first review! :[

Playing this is very fun. I used to play this when i had the time, but seeing it on here makes me want to play it again. I love the way it is realistic and not in 2D. Pokemon Stadium is what i think the very first 3d game that came out. Pokemon Stadium made other games look boring on how you cannot get a specific kind of Pokemon that you want, but on this game, it has every Pokemon except for the most legendary ones. Pokemon Stadium also has a mini game that you can play with your friends. It even has a battle mode where you can verse your friends in Pokemon battle. Pokemon Stadium has a lot of featured games that you can play. The best thing and also the most hardest thing is the story mode. The story mode started out so easy that a baby can do it. But when it got closer to the end, it was so hard, i could not be able to beat it. Pokemon Stadium is a way to have fun with whatever Pokemon you ever wanted to have and/or play with. Get this game, it is a natural out of all the ones from Generation 1!!! ;) Pokemon Stadium 2 is even better, but a lil more challenging than what you can expect. :P

Based on gameplay thru N64   Clean
Although Pokemon Stadium has flaws when played thru Vizzed, it is not fair to give Pokemon Stadium a lower rating because this is not the real deal (should be rated based on the real Pokemon Stadium gameplay on the Nintendo 64) Very good game play. Can get repetitive at times but can also be addicting. I personally experimented with beating all the gym leaders and tournaments using only pokemon of same evolve forms (example: Charmander, Charmeleon, Charazard) and that kept me interested in experimenting with game play. Genius feature of being able to trade back and forth pokemon from the gameboy versions to Pokemon Stadium.

Time for Pokémon Stadium review by Darthyoda!
Jump into your Pokémon Stadium and battle other Pokémon. Fight to get trophies, and awards! Find your Pokémon's weakness and find the perfect Pokémon for each of your enemies! Choose your small selection of Pokémon before the Pokecup/Tournament, and use each set of Pokémon for each different trainer you will battle! I would really recommend this game for every audience, and would guarantee a fun time playing this game. It does have it faults, but over all this is a very good game!
Graphics
The graphics are rather good on this game, except for rare occasions. On the occasions a black spot will cover the floor, where the Pokeball is in the floor. (A picture that represents one) Otherwise it has exceptional Graphics and gives you motivation to play.
Sound
Unfortunately, there is no sound for this game, but I'm sure if there were it would be even better!
Addictiveness
The game is very addictive, cause you get to use many different Pokémon, and also get to battle different ones each time.
Story
Because there is no real story to this game I will give a few examples of what certain Pokémon can do. The Bulbasaur, can do poison powder, a powder that has a longer effect on its enemies, and can also use take down, and his charge attack Solarbeam! The Chizzard, my personal favorite can do Swords dance, a dance that raises his offence, and can fly which take two rounds to do damage, and also fire spin and another fire attack!
Depth
Despite its lack of a good story the game has much to offer! You can battle in three different Tournaments, and each is harder. The easiest Tournament is the Poke cup. You can battle 8 different trainers in each tournament!
Difficulty
The game isn't actually that hard, all you have to do is choose each attack, and Pokémon.

I like fighting games without blood or gore and I love strategy games as well as puzzles. If that sounds like your forte, this game is one of my personal "Oldies favorites" on up there with the Zelda games. It is a game where you choose a team of six and choose three from those six for each battle (the strategy portion), a very familiar setup to pokemon fans! It is a turn by turn play based on your team's status points (example: higher speed means you typically go first). Type difference affects damage counting on a large scale, basically deciding the  outcome in a lot of instances. A game for pokefans and strategists alike, and an overall great classic in my opinion!

NESMan's Reviews   NESMan
If you grew up in the '90s, odds are you knew about Pokémon.  It was a TV show, card game, video game, and it had all kinds of merchandise at stores everywhere!  "Pokémon Stadium" was released for the Nintendo 64 on February 29, 2000, by Nintendo and Game Freak.  Now Pokémon is a strategy game, for example: FIRE beats GRASS, GRASS beats WATER, & WATER beats FIRE.  In "Pokémon Stadium" there are different tournaments you can compete in.  The STADIUM has Poké Cup, Petit Cup, Pika Cup, and Prime Cup.  Each of these tournaments has their own rules, arenas, but Poké Cup and Prime Cup, have difficulty divisions.  Poké Ball is easy, Great Ball is normal, Ultra Ball is hard, and Master Ball is extreme.  "Pokémon Stadium" also has Gym Leader Castle, which is basically Story Mode based on the 1st generation Game Boy games, after you beat all 8 Gyms, you have to beat the Elite Four and your Rival to get a Pokémon Present.  Using the Transfer Pak, that comes with "Pokémon Stadium", you can play any 1st generation Pokémon Game Boy game.  That's something I really like about "Pokémon Stadium", playing my Game Boy title on the BACKLIT bigger screen, without having to drain my Game Boy's batteries.  Also, you can receive Pokémon Presents ONLY when your Game Boy game is plugged into the Transfer Pak.  After you COMPLETELY beat ANY tournament, your Pokémon will be shown as statues in Victory Place, if you get all 150 Pokémon in Victory Place, you get a Psyduck that knows the move "AMNESIA".  There is also the Pokémon Lab, where Professor Oak, grandfather of your Rival, can help you mange your Computer, Pokémon, Items, Pokédex, or if you have a friend with a Transfer Pak, and Game Boy Pokémon game, you can trade with them.  If you want to unwind from battling, there's 9 mini games at the Kids Club.  Do I like this game? Yes I do, granted it's harder than the Game Boy titles, but it's still fun.  "Pokémon Stadium" may not be as perfect as its sequels, but it's definitely enough to hold you over for a while.  I give "Pokémon Stadium" an 8.5 out of 10!

Register all 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame.

Dodrio Game Boy

Complete Pokemon Stadium round one.

Mini-Games: Hyper Difficulty

You must win or tie 5 rounds in a row during a ''Who's The Best?'' mini-game championship against 3 CPU's on hard difficulty to unlock hyper difficulty mode.

Surfing Pikachu

Put the Pikachu you started with in Yellow in your party for Round 2 Prime Cup Master Ball. You MUST USE THAT PIKACHU IN EVERY BATTLE of Round 2 Prime Cup Master Ball. After you defeat the final trainer, your Pokemon will be put in the Hall of Fame and Pikachu will learn Surf! You can now play the Surfing Pikachu Minigame in Yellow version as well.

Unlock R2

If you beat all the cups and Gym Leader Castle, Mewtwo will appear. If you beat him, you'll get the harder R2.

Use Mew I round2

First Beat Round1 and then when you Unlock R2 you can use Mew as a rental in R2 Prime Cup Battles.

2nd Title Screen

Beat R1 Mode, and reload the game. In place of the title screen is a new one.

Change your Pokemon's color!

If you nickname your Pokemon in the Gameboy game and bring it into Stadium, it will have changed color depending on what you nicknamed it!
This has NOTHING to do with shiny Pokemon, because they were not invented when Stadium was released.
Possibilities range from an orange Pikachu to a seagreen Tentacruel.

Bonus Stickers

After beating the R2 Mewtwo, go to the Gallery. Scroll down
to ''Print'' and hold L and R. Print will become ''Bonus''.
Press A to view the game backgrounds, which can be printed
off at a Pokemon Snap station.

Dodou speed mode

If you beat Master Ball in PokéCup or Primecup
you will get dodou speed. This allows you to play your pokemon game in pokemon tower at X2 speed.
