Pokemon Hack: Snakewood warrior7
The Pokémon Hack Snakewood is one of my favorite hacks of all time. It's probably up there with Pokémon Light Platinum and the Pokémon Ruby Destiny series.
Graphics: I gave the graphics a six just for the simple fact that it is third generation graphics. I've played so many hacks that have these same graphics, which actually is the reason I gave the graphics such a low score.
Sound: I gave the sound the I gave the graphics because they are the exact same thing you hear in the original games and most of the hacked games.
Addictiveness: I gave the addictiveness a 10!!! The reason I did so was because honestly Pokémon is the last place you would expect to find zombies, but Snakewood offers just that. Also, everybody loves zombies and a lot of people enjoyed the Pokémon series during adolescence, so this is basically a match made in heaven.
Story: I gave the story a 10 as well because the story is totally original. The story has so many holes in it making you want to figure out the secrets of your life while you have amnesia. The game makes you do weird things to obtain the badges and hidden machines like beating random zombies or doing quests for different people. An interesting quest was the murder of a man in New Maulville. You had to talk to different people to then find out the murderer.
Depth: I gave the depth a seven because this game has a lot to offer. The different ways to obtain badges and hidden machines, the game was pretty long giving you time to train your Pokémon, and the various rivals like Alicia, other wise known as War, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Gleis the Taoist, and many others. Another thing this game has to offer is the various zombie Pokémon from Boilbasaur to Graveill and Moulder the two catch able zombie Pokémon.
Difficulty: I gave the difficulty an eight because this is a pretty darn difficult game. Actually, at one point in my first play through, all my Pokémon were level 50's while the average Pokémon I faced was a level 67. Another reason it was difficult was the fact that whenever you went through a long and difficult chain of battles where your Pokémon were all on the verge of fainting there was usually a rival in front of a Poke center.
Overall: The game was great overall and I loved every second of the twists and turns in this very mysterious, zombie-filled Pokémon hack!

Pokemon Snakewood, Possibley the best hack ever King-Giga
Pokémon Snakewood may be my current top favorite Rom hack of all time. Not only is the story rather intuitive but the custom sounds and the graphics are really decent. The entire thing is so addicting I find my self getting frustrated into rage quitting only to play it again five minutes later. Don't let that make you nervous though, this game is full of rich game play and is rather entertaining.
Let's start the breakdown now !
Overall I gave this game a 9.8 I find the rich mix of custom graphics, new maps, sounds and storyline to be a very well awesome mix ! The whole zombie theme and the four horsemen of the Apocalypse along with some silly humor and references to media make it a very enjoyable experience.
Graphics: 9The graphics are up to standard with the games in the advance series, Even the custom graphics are pretty decent. I really liked the fakemon the most. Especially the madios but don't let me spoil to much for you. This game has over 30 different fakemon some uncatchable, some are ! A few Pokémon even get a cool zombie makeover. A few things could have been improved like a few of the fakemon sprites (The part in the trainer party thing) but over all it's not much of a problem.
Sound: 9The sound is pretty decent, it includes a mix of Ruby/Sapphire music plus a few custom tracks and sounds. It never had a repetitive feel more of a nostalgia feel really.
Addictiveness: 10, A solid 10I just can't stop playing this game, I put it down for a while and I end up picking it right back up again. It leaves me wanting to know more of the story and more of what happened in the game. If you're like me you won't be able to put this game down very often.
Story: 8This story isn't like your typical Pokémon game, Fill the pokedex and beat the elite four, It's different, and that's what makes it a lot more interesting in my book. You wake up in ruins of littelroot town with our your memory. You have no idea what happened and its up to you to find out while searching for your brother and May. It's very interesting right from the begging ! If you're not into dark humor or zombies this game isn't for you.
Depth: 9 This game goes pretty deep, it has a few side quests but the storyline is quite long and enjoyable. I'm not even that far into it yet I only have two badges and there's plenty to do. I've thoroughly enjoyed it thus far.
Difficulty: 7Let's face it this game isn't easy. The difficulty is progressive, its starts rather easy but it gets more difficult rather quickly. It's not impossible it just requires quite a bit of level grinding. The bonus is that there's plenty of areas to heal your Pokémon so you won't have to worry about that too much ! Though there are several times when you will probably have to look up an online guide to get through a hard part. I know I've had to several times. The difficulty definitely doesn't break the game at all.

This game is awesome! drizz9999
This game is great! The graphics: are a normal Pokémon games graphics so I give them a 6.
The sound is also mostly from Pokémon that is why I gave it a 6!
The addictiveness:... I cant tell you how much LOVE this game its very addictive but if you beat it once or twice it gets to be a little old..
The story: is a great story! Its about a zombie invasion in Pokémon with zombie Pokémon its great!
Depth: This game has old places and new! Its a really great game!
Difficulty: Its not so hard where you will rage quit after the first battle but it is pretty difficult to where it gets to where you have to stop and train and not rush through it. This game also brings some difficult puzzles so watch out!

Fun!! shadow8885
I think this game is quite fun and really different. I've played lots of Pokémon hacks before but none like this. The Pokémon are zombified and it's very graphic. I think this is a very fun Pokémon Ruby hack. The story is really good. The rest of it is just a Pokémon game and you catch Pokémon and battle. But, the trainers are zombies! Well... most of them. There are some survivors. So yeah it's a really fun game! I really don't like the fact that your Pokemon can't be zombies too. But other than that it's a really fun game all together.

Pokemon Snakewood DogBoy52
Before I begin I would like to say that I am fairly new at this and feedback would be appreciated.
Overall: 9.5 This is a very good game, if a little crude.
Graphics: 6 Average graphics, but some of the reskins are sloppy and some fakemon don't have original sprites.
Sound: 4 Average sound, but that's the thing, the normal peppy Pokemon music doesn't fit to this hack well.
Addictiveness: 10 I have a hard time trying to stop playing this, I'm on my 3rd play through already.
Story: 10 All original story, and in my opinion, a very good story, it keeps you guessing.
Depth: 10 There is a lot to do, see, and collect in this game, it just offers so much.
Difficulty: 8 Its one of the hardest Pokemon hack I have played as of right now.

Pretty good. Chubbs1
Overall, this game was pretty fascinating. The graphic were just like a Game Boy Advance game. So they were obviously good. Not too much glitching that I seen. But it was pretty cool. I really expected Landon and May to have better sprites than just Cool Trainers, but it was still neat. The sound didn't cut out at all. Even when you were speeding up the game the sound was still steady. That's always a good thing to have in a game. There have been some games where I can't listen to the sound because it cuts out, so that took some of the fun out it. The story was pretty deep. I liked how it flowed from one event to another. There were some events, however, that didn't really fit into the story line and it just seemed they were thrown in for no reason. The thing at Lilycove Museum where your brother, Landon, and May went to a higher plain or whatever they said, and how the playable character talked to the player, didn't really fit into the story line and I couldn't understand why it was even in there. It was cool that that the playable character talked to the player and even called the player "Skyface," but it was still confusing on why it was in there. But the story overall was fantastic. The depth of the game was also deep. I thought that there was a lot of things to do in this game. It took me like 84 hours just to get to where I got before I quit, and I didn't even finish it. I thought that this game was really difficult. The bosses and Gym Leaders especially. The Senex was extremely hard to beat. This game is also very addicting. I had to restart my game once and if I wanna play again, I'll have to again. I won't go back to play it because if you lose to The Senex, you can't face him again. So since I had put so much work into training, battling, and catching legendaries, I don't want to go back through and do all that again. So other than the fact that if you lose to The Senex you can't face him again, this game was phenomenal. I would recommend to all with a tiny bit of advice. Don't lose to The Senex!

Loved it to death! tamdot
I love this game, well, to death. The graphics are very basic, as should be since this is a hack of Ruby, however with many hacks being out there such as light platinum, the graphics are pretty regular hence an average rating on it. The sound was also pretty normal, not many changes, so also pretty average. The addictiveness is really high score for me because of the storyline itself. The storyline really sucks me in because of the awkward dialogue and the messed up events. The story is pretty extensive, often confusing but pretty funny itself, so I gave it a somewhat high rating. The difficulty of the game was actually pretty hard since the levels went up really high pretty fast, so grinding took a really long time. So overall I gave this game a 9.5 since the game was very compelling to me.

reminds me of a show this is cool thetruemasterof..
It's really cool I always wanted to play an apocalypse Pokémon game even better its a zombie Apocalypse. This game is basically Pokémon ruby and sapphire but with some twist from the normal story, it kind of reminds me of that awesome tv show called walking dead, u start in a meadow alone it has an eerie setting to it and a seemingly out of place patch of dessert sand with 3 poke balls on it. Baltoy Paras and I forgot what the other was when u choose a Pokémon u leave the meadow and see birch being attacked by a zombie. The zombies even use Pokémon there Pokémon are zombies too. Man I got hooked on this game the story makes it more exciting than normal Pokémon. What was really cool was the demon corpse in the woods trying to take over your body by beating u. Heads up she has 2 Pokémon forgot what 1 was but the other was a zombie murkrow. There is 1 thing i will review to get surf go north of rubusto and take the magikarp from the dead fighter guy the magikarp is holding the hm for surf. That's it for my review don't want to give to much away that's the basics see ya next time.
P.S. This was my first ever review.

Pokemon Snakewood Review Joey W
What is up Vizzed? It's Joey W back at it again with another Pokemon review! Today I will be reviewing Pokemon Snakewood, a post apocolyptyc game taking place in Hoenn. Before I get started I want to apologize if this review is not up to par. I typed out an elaborate review and for some reason, it didn't post and I lost it all. So I'm a little distracted! But nonetheless, I hope you still enjoy this review!
So let's start with the graphics. The developers of this game created new Pokemon and developed original sprites for the pokemon. They also created new sprites for just about every major character and zombie including overworld sprites. While there were some glitches, the graphics were pretty cool. So, the game earned a 9.
Sound: There weren't any noticeable changes to the sound. This game received a 7 just because Hoenn has such a wonderful soundtrack.
Addictiveness: I'm not going to lie. This game was challenging. There were many, many parts of this game where I had no clue what was next. I had to look up guides on the interweb just to find out what to do. Besides that, this game was very addictive. There would be times where I could not put the game down, even with all of the challenges. Because of the constant need to look up help, this received a 9.
***SPOILER ALERT***
Story: This section contains spoilers. Enter at your own risk!!!
So, last review, I basically wrote out the entire storyline. This time, I'm going to cut corners. So basically, you wake up from a building collapsing on you. No one is to be found. You find three pokeballs (to choose your starter). You then find the professor being attacked by a zombie. After saving him, he explains that a zombie apocalypse occurred and that your brother (the champion) and his girlfriend (May) disappeared. You set out to find them. On your journey, you save a dragon's daughter, defeat the four horsemen, and basically fight the government. Towards the end, you defeat the necromancer who started this apocalypse and his underlings. Due to your bravery, you get to go to Gym Island and can even catch that necromancy. A major issue occurs when the game basically ends there. You never do recover your memory and your brother passes on. The end. It was an ending unworthy of the hack. From what I heard, the hack was never completely finished. Nonetheless, the ending doesn't ruin the game (for me anyway) and I gave the story a 9 because the ending was disappointing.
Depth: So, there are many new pokemon (mostly zombie pokemon) and new legendaries to catch, There are also multiple sidequests to be done. However, once you go to Gym Island, the game provides little else to do. So, I think an 8 is a fair score.
Difficulty: For me, I don't find pokemon games difficult at all. In fact, I think they are pretty easy to do speed runs for. However, this game was different. This was one of the most difficult hacks/games that I have ever played. I trained up towards the beginning of the game, but halfway through, I found myself weaker than most trainers. But, I still was able to defeat them. Nonetheless, if you want a good challenge, play this game!
Overall, I played this game a few years ago but never beat it. I finally decided to give it another go. I have been looking forward to review this for some time (and I did so twice). I hope you enjoyed this review. Till next time! Happy gaming!!!

Best zombie game ever! trainer_ruby144
This is one of the best Pokémon hacks that I've played! So far there's no bugs/glitches. My only problem was that Magikarp at the beginning of the game which it took forever to evolve including the champion was a bit tough! As you progress through the story,it gets a little confusing with the puzzles and some of the trainers. I also noticed some of the Pokémon evolutions look odd to me (like Hombone) and some of the new sprites looks like they were lazily made like Moulder. Plus some of sprites nearly look identical to each other. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Pokemon Snake- OH GOD! vaderzlk11
Some romhacks are weird. Some are terrible. Some are artistic and improve on the original design. But others take a darker route, but this one took it up to eleven. When I actually tried to play it, I almost suffered a literal heart attack! So is this the kind of zombie apocalypse scenario we wanted to see?
Graphics: Pretty good, for some editing of certain Pokemon to look like Fakemon and that they fit in with the zombie apocalyptic design of the game. Though some look a bit weird, they're fine to me, and they still fit well for GBA graphics. Also, it retains some graphics from the original game, like the Pokemon Center from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.
Sound: Most Pokemon music and sound are retained from the orignal games, but are otherwise still good. The fact that some Fakemon borrow some sounds from the one that they were based off didn't help.
Addictiveness: NOT FOR ME AT ALL SINCE IT GAVE ME A WHOLE BUNCH OF NIGHTMARES. For the rest of you, it depends on whether you like it or not. I'm not trying it out again.
Story: Well executed for a zombie apocalypse. In spite of having many cliches, it somehow lampshades how dull they are at times (and even lampshades the pop-culture references at times), making it seem a bit interesting
Depth: After all, you gotta catch em all, right? Yep, you're also catching ZOMBIES too. Does this remind you of a certain mobile game by the way?
Difficulty: It gets hard at first, but as you get more powerful by grinding for levels, it gets mostly easier (and thankfully in a good way).
Final Rating: 7.2 (Nightmare Fuel- Honest Game Trailers reference BTW) While the plot and the story is mostly cliched, the constant lampshading at those help maintain its good reputation. While it's not excellent, at least it isn't terrible. If you're nightmare resistant, then you should play this romhack.

Most interesting Rom I've ever played. DolphinRider56
Although I have never beaten the game myself, I can already tell this hack is very well made from the story to how addictive it can be. The addition of most fake Pokémon was extremely clever and was a good way to introduce new experiences to the Pokémon world. What also caught my attention was that it was a ROM hack of Ruby, one of my most favorite Pokémon games in the entire world! Now, the only draw back for me was how difficult it was. I wish it was about as difficult as regular Pokémon games, but other than that, I can't complain. I love that it is based in some sort of apocalyptic time period. You should be careful though because the zombie trainers are stronger than normal trainers (minus gym leaders, the four horsemen, and the elite four). Please note however that the zombie Pokémon are unobtainable. All in all, I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did and leave an honest rating. Bye bye!

Pokémon Snake wood
Graphics
The Graphics for the normal Pokémon aren't bad but the new Pokémon just look bad like A Monster which is an awful mixture of many Pokémon. There are some questionable design choices for the zombie pokes tough like Houndour or Slaking with no heads.
Sound
The sound is good because it's taken from the original game.AddictivenessThere isn't much replay value in this game apart from different Pokémon.
StoryThe most original part of Pokémon snake wood and it's not even that good. It's a complete mess. It starts with you waking up and not knowing your gender and name. You take a starter from Koffing, Baltoy or Paras. Eventually you meet a zombie and Prof. Birch. He brings you to a nest where the impossible has happened. POKEMON HAVE BABIES, he acts extremely surprised that there are eggs in the wild. I won't talk about the rest but it's very stupid.
Difficulty
The game is ridiculously hard. You need to do a lot of grinding just to beat the game. You even have to fight a Dark/Ghost type with Wonder Guard.
In conclusion Pokémon Snake wood is an awful Rom hack. With awful Fakemon, a confusing story with a stupid protagonist this hack gets a rating of 6.2 because of its originality.

what the heck did i just play?! bocoom
The graphics are just the same as the game it got hacked from. Its supposed to take place in Hoenn but the more you go along the more areas the hacker crammed in that was not in the game at all. there are caves and areas and locations that were just randomly made for no reason. the more you go through the game the less it resembles the Hoenn region and gets more random as you go along. its like the hacker got bored and started adding all of this crap off the top of his head. And the Hoenn region becomes a new place entirely. and these areas hurt the game in more ways than one and the rest of this review will tell you
The sound is just like it is in the regular game. nothing special here. if there was a different track then it was not good enough to hold my attention or even notice.
The addictiveness is horrible. i would not want to play this game again. this was the worst hack I ever played. Its about as much fun as sucking on a turd.
The story(if you can call it that) is a mess. its filled with cliches and it starts off with your character with amnesia (how original) (-_-) trying to look for their brother Landon(the protagonist in ruby version) his brother and may(the rival of Brendan) during the zombie out break. sounds simple but its like it was written by a schizophrenic monkey! It introduces this zombie plot at the beginning and then he just throws in this four horsemen plot out of nowhere and it gets resolved Deus ex machina style and then he introduces some other generic organization and another orginization that fights them and he even throws in aliens at one point and ,demons and ,dragons! and these things never get any plot resolution and just appear then vanish and have hardly any connection with each other. It does not help that all the characters have the personality of a brick wall and never made me feel for anything. the creator seems to like breaking the fourth wall and having your character point out the obvious stupidity of the plot points ,characters ,and likes to make references to obscure media and anime and TV shows like a moron. the more you go on the less it starts to be about pokemon and more of a kid throwing random ideas to a wall and hoping they would stick!the story cant even keep a contestant tone as it jumps from LOL WERE SO FUNNY to OMG SO DARK LOOKS HOW DARK WE ARE!! but failed at doing both!
Depth is low because the the game play is killed by adding bland and boring looking FAKEMON into the game and giving them unbalanced wonky stats. Hell the whole game is unbalanced! the level curve is all over the place and he makes the gym leaders so overpowered and gives them evolved pokemon they should not have with moves they should not have at that level. at the same time makes the wild pokemon you train on weak so its tedious to train your guys to an appropriate level. He even changes types for pokemon for no reason and it hardly makes an impact on the pokemon. he also gives random pokemon different evolutions by making even MORE fakemons that look just as ugly and broken as the others! he throws these zombies called chefs that have the same two pokemon every time you fight them and there are ALLOT of them and when you get far into the game the zombies get max potions for some reason and make the battles last even longer and more tedious. and the WORST part is that he has a fakemon(thats a blue ball with yellow eyes) in it thats a ghost/dark type with WONDER GUARD!! And he gives it to a gym leader and elite 4 member. so you HAVE to use a health draining move or you will have to wait for it to struggle to death(and they use health potions on it have fun) and the sprites of the trainers look horrible and are just recolors or other sprites a lot of times. He also renamed items for no reason at all for example a quick claw is called a demon horn for some reason. i dont know why he did this because this IS supposed to take place in the pokemon world. because of this it takes away the feeling of even BEING in a pokemon game along with the out of control plot, bad characters, and bad game design. the more i went on the more i kept forgetting this is pokemon because everything is all over the place.
i put difficulty high not only because of the godly fakemon, the level curve, and the opponents with unfair pokemon and moves. its the caves/puzzles! he added these trial & error "screw you" fests that basically require you to look up the solution on the Pokecommunity thread. One cave makes you fight 8 people in separate rooms and when you enter one room it brings you ALL the way back outside and you have to go ALL the way back in to do it 7 more times after you beat one. also there is a cave that you can only solve if your LUCKY! the so called puzzles are also luck based. there is this big room that you have to walk on a certain path and if step ONE pixel out of it you get teleported ALL the way to the beginning. Also the path curves and if you cant make save states on your emulator like we can then it is near impossible to do without looking at a solution online. instead of putting effort into making good puzzles and caves he just used pure chance and poor trial and error.
In conclusion this game throws logic out the window in an attempt to be hilarious but FAILS every time. Sprites are bad, characters are bland, plot is laughably bad! the game play is unbalanced! has monotonous trial and error caves/puzzles! this game was so bad it gave me CANCER!! i dont care if those no taste chimp reviewers gave this game a good score its HORRIBLE and is the Nirvana of bad pokemon hacks. I think i put more effort into this review then the guy who created this piece of crap if your a brain dead chimp you will enjoy this game but for normal people who actually want games with EFFORT put into them this crap is not for you!
