Pokemon Shiny Gold X Version Review   XxEzraxX
My attention was brought to this game by the letter "X" in the title, my first thought was, "Shiny Gold X? What does the X mean?" I soon found out that the game was much harder than the other Shiny Gold Version, and I must say the creator (Zel) did quite an amazing job on this game. His first version of Shiny Gold was pretty great, but since he went and updated the game to make it more challenging it became even better. I think it makes more of an appropriate remake than Heart Gold (of course I haven't played this Heart Gold yet, because I lack a DS). What makes it harder? The trainers are not some A.I. that constantly makes mistakes and screw ups with their attacks, some even use strategy. Also the game seems a bit longer.
Shiny Gold follows Gold Version down to a T. The game gave a whole new light on the older versions and after playing this game, all I wanted to do was play Gold Version again. For those who were in the same generation as I was in Pokémon know the great experience these games were, and how much they truly mean to us. And I'm sure they understand what I mean if they play this game, I am sure that the old memories of that beautiful gold cartridge floods their minds. What really amazes me about this game, is that it is a hack of Pokémon Fire Red. It must have been really complicated to change around so much of the game to make it just like a completely different game. There must have been a lot of hard work put into to this game, and I am very impressed by that. I think that is part of the reason why I gave this game such a high rating. This game was very good and thus I gave it a 10.
For the graphics I gave this game a 10. The sprite work is amazing, and the trainers look perfect. I love how well Zel did Sprout Tower. I also gave the sound a 10, because even though it was the same music as Gold it was in a different tone making the game seem a lot newer. Which working all of the sound and graphical changes must have been very difficult. I'm sure Zel would love to know that his hard work really paid off.
I gave the addictiveness of the game a 10 as well, even for a remake this game was very addicting. I am sure that most of you have played the original, and some may even think, "why should I play it again? Because it looks different?" Looking different is not why I picked up this game, it was because I wanted to see what someone else's interpretation of game is. And while I started the game, I realized I was trapped in it, although it is exactly like Gold it is really different too. It was definitely harder, and it was a lot of fun too. I enjoyed playing it and found that I didn't want to stop playing.
For the depth of the game and the difficulty of the game I rated it a 7. It was definitely harder than Gold and Shiny Gold, but it wasn't so much harder that the game seems impossible which is great considering if it was that hard it would become frustrating and level grinding would seem like the only thing you do. However, in this game you may only need to stop to level grind a few times. It is not impossible to beat, but it can get quite challenging. It is also kind of long, but it makes sense since you are going through the Johto and the Kanto regions and you have to take on the Elite Four and Red and still manage to catch all of the legendaries (if you want too anyway).
Overall this was a great game, and I would gladly play it again. I recommend it to anyone who has played Gold, and if you haven't I still recommend it because the older version to the younger generation may seem a lot more slow and they may not be interested in the past version of the game. The updated graphics and faster game play may just be what will hook them in, and we can still share a part of our generation of Pokémon with them.

Pokeon shiny gold x   marcus047
Well this hacks  creator (Zel) managed to create a all new better version of his original hack of Pokémon Shiny Gold which by you should all know by now is a(n) hack of original Pokémon Gold. This hack takes Pokémon battle tactics and training your Pokémon to an all new level, with its normal trainers, and gym leaders advanced battle styles, not to mention there highly leveled, well balanced Pokémon teams. This is one of the most challenging well thought out Pokémon hacks on Vizzed, Welcome to Pokémon Shiny Gold X.
Graphics: well the game is lay ed out(landscape wise) just like original Gold, but with the graphics of Pokémon Firered which are the typical graphics you would see in a Game Boy Advanced game so I gave the graphics a 10.
Sound: this hack has the original Pokémon Gold sound track so the music was that of what you'd expect from Gold, which in all fairness wasn't bad at all, so I gave it a 10.
Addictiveness: so its basically like this, I literately spent/invested a good 6 weeks into playing this hack and seeing it all the way through to the end, which I had me grinding my Pokémon levels  night and day,  and although this hack is good I wouldn't play it again only because I wouldn't want to start all over again because of the difficulty in this so for that reason alone I gave it a 9.
Story: well its Gold, and Silver's story to the T, so of course with its two regions(johto and kanto) it gave a good well throughout story with pretty good dialog.
Depth: the hack  easily  takes  a great/significant amount of time to beat, and has actually a lot of different things to in it, that gives you a reason to keep wanting to progress in the game so I gave it's depth a 9.
Difficulty: in this hack when your defeated in battle it will break your trainer
spirit and most likely put you in deep thought wondering am I really this
bad of a trainer or is the trainers and gym leader A.I.'s just that good, well the answer to that is the A.I. Is just that good. Seriously take my word for it, for those trainers who don't  teach there Pokémon moves like leer and tail whip, this hack will be the end for you, the A.I. In this is no laughing matter and is to be taken as a threat as well as a acknowledge-able  opponent, so for that reason I gave the difficulty a 10. So in conclusion I would recommend this hack for serious trainers who don't want anything close to a cake walk, and who want a hack that brings an all new meaning to the word Difficult.

gold+leaf green=success?   port753
Wow. I started off loving this game, and now I am struggling to progress. There are so many glitches and problems with the game I can't find any other way to get all 8 kanto badges.
I stated before that the graphics were great for being a remake, and the sprites could sell as the real deal as a legit nintendo game.
The music switches between kanto and hoenn music.
The story, depth, and addictiveness are all Pokémon, so you know what to expect.
Something positive I will add is that some Pokémon not found in gold are present. You are able to get a decent amount of Hoenn Pokémon such as: metang, bagon, tropius, treeko, mawile, aggron, wingull, poochiena, zigzagoon, lunatone, solrock, etc. What I don't find great is that some Pokémon are only found in one place, and they are male so you can't create eggs. Magby Treeko, Snorlax, Pikachu, Tyrogue, are all male and onyl found in A certain spot. Once you kill Snorlax, there is no other way to get him again. The others are hidden in spots Zel created.
Now this is where I have a problem. When you get to the other side of diglett cave near pewter, the area is glitched and you cannot go on. There is no way to reach Cinnibar because Fuscia's route is glitched. Whenever you fly to "Pallet Town", you are sent to a glitched and messed up version of New Bark. When you move to the next route, its like you were in New Bark the whole time and never even flew to Pallet. There are many places you'll see messed up buildings and grass in the game and seems less professional. I am aware that Zel has a life and can't always work on shiny gold X, but in my opinion X shouldn't be released until it was fully completed and can be completed.
I do try to see the brighter sides of X as this was a very enjoyable game in the beginning with the addition of Carlos and tougher trainers. I just wish epilogue of johto was as well constructed.

Pokemon Shiny Gold X   wicked-pyper-le..
There are hundreds of Pokémon games out there with remakes for some if not all of them and to play all of them is to experience Pokémon in wondrous ways. Remember to always read the reviews on the games you want to play because they could suck. This game is one of the few games with an excellent review that is perfect for it. I have played the original for the game boy color and it blew my mind! Now after playing the new version of it I can say with full confidence that this is the game to play if you wish to experience 2nd generation Pokémon gaming. However had said this I wish to tell you that this is not a fully finished game, after you get to the other region you can only do so much before the game won't let you go forward. For me this was a disappointment because I really wanted to beat the master Red, regardless though I feel everyone should give with game a chance because in my overall opinion it was AWESOME!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         I can't really say to much about the graphics of this game mostly because they are the same and basic ones as the rest of the Pokémon games I have played. It's not like the look of the game was bad it was just the same thing I have seen before. I did hear that the guy who made this started off with the game Pokémon Red and took it from there which if its true then that is amazing!  Regardless of everything though this game is a very good looking and playing game.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Now I really and not one to listen to music of a game mostly because people don't change the soundtrack. I get why they don't, it just either fits the game or its just too much trouble finding the perfect sound. I did enjoy the music when I first played the game but after words it just got annoying but to each his own I say.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I would play this game forever if I didn't have a life outside of the computer. With that being said I have to say that since I have played this game before I would give it about 3 months before I start a new file. Playing Pokémon can get boring if you have played all the same games before but with this game there is something new involved. You can catch other generations of Pokémon which can make it very addicting specially if you know where to find them all. I would say that the addictiveness of this game is a 7 mostly due to all the Pokémon you can catch.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     To say the least this story is the same as all the other Pokémon games I have played, beat the 8 gyms, beat your rival and become a Pokémon master, There really isn't anything bigger then that when it comes to the story line of a Pokémon game.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               I want to say that this game has a lot of to offer but I don't want to lie so to tell you the truth the most you can get out of the playing this game other then catching Pokémon and the other basic Pokémon game stuff, there really isn't too much depth with this game. Yea you could go and play slots and find some random stuff while walking around like rare candies but that mostly it.                                                                                                                                                                                                               This game has a pretty high difficulty at times, I mean with chasing down Pokémon, team rocket and your rival I would say you have your hands full. It took me a while to train at the beginning mostly due to my first rival who I may say isn't a very nice person. The leaders of the gyms are pretty hard and the trainers and a bit of a challenge as well so train hard and be careful always have some form of potion on you at all times and you should be fine.
