Best pokemon hack ever! pokepal100
The game Pokemon Platinum is one of the best games on this site but the only problem is the pokedex.
When I caught Rotom it told me I caught a Farfetched.
The graphics are amazing and when you own Celebi and look at its back in a battle its like OMG AMAZING!
It sounds good nice music and very original except the gym leaders names.
I am addicted to this game and will probably play this again.
The simple nature of the game makes it all the more addictive and it appeals to all generations of players.
The story line is a very cool one and with the original name team Steam for the bad team I just love it.
You see characters from the anime old games and you can even go to ilex forest in Johto.
The gyms range from the easy to hard and I have no idea whats in store when I reach the elite four but it should be good.
I think the spelling for prof.Oak and team steam kinda needs a bit of work.
Glad to see some familiar pokemon and the start is just epic.
A whole lot of things to do including catching many legendarys like Celebi,latios,Lugia and doing pokemon contests and just plain exploring.
The game is simple,fun,kinda hard at times but very addictive and I hope others feel the same.

Poor effort Razer69
This is a poor example of a Pokémon hack. Please read before playing.
I don't mean to sound horrible but having attempted the game for a short while I am already bored and annoyed at this game. Firstly there is no story. Unlike in the original games and in other hacks where events unfold in a manner which guides you from town to town stopping at dungeons along the way this game just throws your starter Pokémon at you then expects you to find your own way around. Some may see this as a good thing as in one respect you get more freedom than we are used to but from a game standpoint there is no motivation to play on.
Obviously the Graphics and sound are unchanged from original games so I cannot really comment either way. Also the difficulty is at a 5 as it has the same difficulty as Pokémon battles in all the other games.
Then we have the minor teething problems. Silly little issues that really shouldn't be there. For example on the start up Professor OAK welcomes you to his home town of LITTLEROOT but when you wake from your dream you are in YELLOW TOWN. A lazy name for a town. When you wake up the house your in is supposed to be yours but when you speak to your mum and her guest the dialogue is that of you being in someone else house.
The English in the game is also beyond terrible. I understand English is not the only language out there but if you are going to publish a game hack in English then you should have the where with all to get basic grammar and syntax right. If English isn't an easy language for the hack creator then I would consider re-doing the hack in a language you are more familiar with.
To sum up, while I admire a persons ability to change the fundamentals of a game, something which is beyond my skill set, I am afraid this game simply doesn't measure up to the other hacks that are available. I am giving you advance warning that you will likely not like this version if you are used to others that are well designed.

I would not recommend this game, however, I would not dissuade someone from playing. I suppose it's a decent game, allowing you to capture and use all Pokemon up to Arceus, I believe, or 493.
The sad part of this is, I'm only in the forest after the third city/city with first gym. And I can't honestly say that I am overeager to again attempt this game, though I probably will (since I like to see games through). But I am completely and utterly bored and irritated.
The Graphics: Pretty nice, especially the Sinnoh Pokemon. Though I can't say this is perfect as there is a bit of a tile problem.
The Sound: It is, of course, nice, but you know why? Because it's the same soundtrack as the Ruby game it's made after (I think it's Ruby, anyway), and this is annoying.
Addictiveness: And here is the game's main problem, besides the difficulty. For one thing, I absolutely hate the wild Pokemon system and I think it's utter crap. Every freaking 2 steps, the battle theme starts up. It annoys me to no end, though it is a bit nice for grinding, but only for a little while; after a while the wild Pokemon are comparably so low in level to your Pokemon that it's practically impossible to grind. Also, you get bored really fast, such as in the aforementioned Gold Forest. This is due to... well, I'll let ya know in the Difficulty section.
Story: Okay, I'm sorry, but there IS no story, I'm being extremely generous with such a score. I think (as not having any interaction with them...yet) that Team... Steam, I think? will have some important role in which I kick their sorry butts, but that's it. It's about as (no offense) story-oriented as RS.
Depth: I don't have to have gotten through Gold Forest to know the 'depth' of this story: I spend a few days smoking some Gym Leaders (which give you the same TMs as in the original! D:<) and travel through, catch some Pokemon, then beat the E4. Then, though I doubt I'll do this, you can complete the Pokedex, which should be easier in this game due to the automatic National Pokedex. Also included is... all the bullcrap stuff you do in post-Ruby, I guess.
Difficulty: Wtf. W...t...fudoodles. What difficulty? You zoom through the game with Pokemon that are actually DECENT. Honestly, on the the first route there are, like, CROAGUNKS. What? Second route? Combees. What? And then, they give you possibly THE strongest starters in the game. And... forewarning... the rival is the easiest rival I've ever wiped the floor with, or will be for you, as long as you choose Piplup. Because when I chose Chimchar... SHE chose Chimchar.
Alright, guys, that wraps this crappy review. Hope you... enjoyed? And learned something about this game before you try it. But seriously, I give it a five, so you may want to give it a try. Your choice, guys. :)

Not bad, but could use improvement longneck40
Not bad, didn't get too far into though. Has a lot of grammar and spelling issues that need to be fixed. Example received is receibed in the game. the graphics are where the pokemon games were at this time. I know an error when you run into Solana for the first time. After battle, she walks off like shes supposed to then randomly jumps. So that action is still there from the original game. As I said, I haven't got too far in the game and probably won't because the bad grammar and spelling bothers me. If you can get around that, than you should be good to go. Oh, and you apparently live in two houses? Maybe thats just a glitch in the beginning, but its still weird.

I haven't played much of it and I already grew bored with it. I'm not a big fan of Pokemon, but I like to play it every now and then. I'm still playing Pokemon Emerald. The graphics of Platinum was great and the sound was good, but the difficult level wasn't all that challenging to me and I defeated a level 5 pokemon with a level 2 pokemon. The grammar was horrible. It was like the creator was either rushing to complete it or really didn't try on it. The story was dull. I won't be playing the game anytime soon.

OKAY...so I followed everyone's ratings for this game and decided to play...Don't be fooled by all the positive things dumb kids have to say. I know I sound like some bigass nerd right now but WHATEVER. I have been playing Pokemon for over a decade and this game is horrible.
GRAPHICS - The sprites for the Pokemon like Chimchar instead of Torchic and Piplup instead of Mudkip and the tiles for this game...not too shabby pretty awesome since you have to make it from scratch so in this department the hack is good...
GAMEPLAY - The Wild Pokemon encountering system is just bulls***. This is one thing that is making me rate 0.1 people. LITERALLY every 2 steps is a battle. LITERALLY. Do you realize how gosh darn annoying it is to fight a Zubat or Shinx or whatever every 2 steps? Horrible job creator. I caught Uxie + Celebi before the 2nd Gym and obtained a Masterball as well...This part was kind of cool I guess but BEFORE the 2nd Gym? Whoever rated and said "..this is everything Pokemon has.." was dead wrong. The battles you face are completely whack as hell. It is almost like the creator/hacker didn't even change the Pokemon that trainers were using... E.G. Fighting the guy with 6 level 3 Wurmples before the 2nd Gym when my Monferno was like level 30?
Another thing. The trainers are horribly weak and the Gym Leaders are INSANELY strong. This is the thing that made me quit actually. Had I played this rom legit and not just power leveled my starter I don't think I would've even beat the 1st Ghost Pokemon the 2nd Gym leader has.
STORY - The story of this game...I know it is a work in progress but before progressing any further how about fixing the STORY??? First of all I had no idea what was really going on to be honest...It was like when back in Elementary I played the Japanese Silver version before the U.S. had Gold/Silver. I had NO idea what the hell the characters were saying. I just pressed A the whole time and went with my instincts.
Grammar is HORRIBLE. If you don't believe me try it for yourself.Overall I give this a 3/10 but I am rating it 0.1 so I can help lower the VIZZED rating. This rom does NOT deserve a 9.1 This game is entertaining if you are a child between the ages of 3-5. "OOOH COOL NEW POKEMON FROM THE TV SHOW"

Pokemon Platinum: How is it? threetothree
Well, I've finally decided to play this game. It has begun! The first thing I notice about the game is when I talk to the rival's mother, who is sitting there for some reason. "Our daughter is upstairs I think." So I think Wow, not a good start. This game is very lazy scripted, with lots of punctuation errors and makes me want to laugh. The cries of Pokemon and Pokedex entries are poor and I discovered a few glitches along the way. I lost a battle on Route 103, when then I for some reason teleport to the Desert Town. My first reaction is "What the HELL!?" I go onto the Desert Route and catch a Cacnea, Hippopotas and Gible. I'm getting bored, because due to me teleporting and only being Level 16 when it happens I'm incredibly underlevelled. Almost all of the trainers I've faced so far have the same script from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Before I was up to here, a boy gave me a tutorial on how to catch Pokemon using my Monferno and every time I did the tutorial, Monferno one shotted the Ralts.
The Team Steam fights in the tower are a real kicker too. I go and talk to some of the Grunts and they say I've already fought them when indeed I haven't. Then I fight the Admin. Level 38 Absol. WTF!? I'm only Level 24! Why am I this badly trained. It takes me 8 battles to beat her, then the worst part happens. The man gives me a Castform and the camera's pointed into the wall. The first time this happened, I opened my menu then the game crashed.
The second time it happened, the camera was a row off. I go to exit the door when... The classic sound effect of your character walking into something. I'm stuck!!! So for me, this game is impossible to complete UNLESS you use cheats which I wouldn't do myself. The graphics are practically a slightly improved version of Light Platinum. At least I could ENJOY Light Platinum a bit. This game however is broken. Nothing WORKS! Barely anything does much and I'm sick of hearing myself fast forwarding the wild Pokemon encounter theme. I'm bored as s***. This game provides little entertainment, It's just awful. The story, well I didn't see much of it because I WARPED!
I'm not putting depth into the game. The script is 95% Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and I enjoyed Emerald. The order of Trainers and stuff is scrambled. And I put difficulty on 6, because of how bored I got fighting overlevelled trainers. Stay away! This has to be hands down the worst Pokemon game I've ever played, hack or not. Every other game I played was more enjoyable than this load of crap. I never want to meet the crappy developer of this game, because to me it seems like he's a f***ing 8 year old, who can't spell and never tests anything. I would rather buy Sonic Lost World than this hyped crud. I DARE you to play this game without thinking "What!?" Or, you know what would be better? To stay the F*** away from this game! I can't believe it got a fricking 8.4. I don't think anyone really knows what a good Pokemon game really is!

Awesomely inspiring! Who wouldn't like to play as a Pokemon ranger sprite and have their rival as a pokemon ranger sprite?Ok, mabye some people hate Pokemon ranger and overall, hate pokemon, but still it's really good that the maker went to all that trouble to import those 2 sprites (especially when it's from a DS game)!

Nothing special about it. It just gets you into a pokemon mood.

Pretty replayable until you have to finish the national dex. The struggle of pokemon battles make pokemon games exciting, the boringness of filling even the pokedex doesn't.

The reason this game is boring is that if you choose chimchar which I did then your rival that you meet not diamond has the same Pokémon. The second thing is that the wild Pokémon appear every 3-5 steps you take which is good for grinding but once you get to a certain level then you can't grind. The third reason is that this game is basically Pokémon light platinum they just changed how the city looks and gym leaders and type of Pokémon they use they were lazy enough to not even change the title of the towns. This is the reason I will not continue playing this game.

One Of The Greatest Pokemon Hacks mike345
Pokemon Light Platinum is one of the greatest Pokemon Hacks that was created I hope people agree with me on this.
GRAPHICS
The graphics on the game are just like the original games Pokemon Emerald,Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. I gave the graphics an 8/10 because it has the same graphics like the original games which are my favorites. But the way the map was made out was poor but I still thought that the graphics were great.
SOUND
The sound in the game was perfect no crashes no lagging with made the game perfect and playable and easy to enjoy.
ADDICTIVENESS
The game can be very addictive to those that really want to have Pokemon that are from the Sinnoh Region and catch the Sinnoh Region legendaries.
OVERALL
Overall I thought the game was ok and I would like other Retro Game Room Gamers to try out this game.

Now let's get to what I hate about the game.
You can catch Pokemon like Croagunk (their starting moves suck!) early on. (I wonder why Nintendo didn't put them in the start of the game because beginning their moves suck!)
The non-Sinnoh Region Pokemon have completely faded.The Pokedex Data stinks!The Gym Leader gives the exact same TMs. (Seriously Bug Types learning Rock type moves?)First Battle with Diamond is way to easy (Level 12 Riolu Counter and Endure (useless)) he came from Sinnoh he could at least have his Chatot or Torterra with him. (Yes, I'm relating to the Manga). Otherwise just don't include him at all until the end.
