Another Pokémon Review
Hello, Vizzed members, Guest, Aliens, Dogs, Some Random Guy-Whoever is reading this- Secrets here has another review on Pokémon! This time, it is on Pokémon Frosty.
Introduction:  Pokémon Frosty, a hack of Pokémon Ruby. A fairly simple game to all, and fun as well. I can't say much in the Introduction, just that it is basically Pokémon Ruby- With some minor details. Your Rivals hair color has changed, the Pokémon on the introduction in the game is a silhouette of Charmander, and the starter Pokémon are different. Also- everything is covered in snow. Nothing to major in my opinion. I will add other things that are changed in different categories. Now, as usual, we will start off from least to greatest.
Almost-A-Cakewalk Difficulty: The Difficulty of this game is very low, because of the 1 Poke-dollar masterballs and rare candies. Also, because just about all your enemies are moved away- I like getting EXP from them, Creator, thank you very much! I didn't rate it one though, because even if you have a level 100 Charizard or Alakazam, the E4 Will be a bit difficult if you don't have the right Pokémon. But mostly, you can Insta-kill your enemies and turn them into mush. But, because of the need for the right Pokémon team, I rate the Difficulty a 2.
Glitches Ruin Everything When It Comes To Graphics: Yep. Glitches. How we all dread them, unless they help us in any shape/form. The graphics are normal, except for the glitches. Some areas have a water block that shouldn't be there, the whole lake in Petalburg is gone- Its just useless grass, no Pokémon... Bummer. And- If I remember correctly- The hair-color of your over-world sprite changes with some actions, same goes with Rival May. It's also a snowy land, mostly every bit of nature is white. White on the trees, white on the tall grass. White, White, White. So, I have to give Graphics a 6.
Same Old Pokémon Story: The story is the same as always, except for the minor changes in the beginning. The text is changed.(Creator, if you were trying to be funny with that text, please don't. It wasn't funny, dude, it really wasn't.) Anyways, after that it's just your basic story. Fill up your Pokédex, defeat your Rival(s), and become a Pokémon Master. All that wonderful stuff that makes Pokémon what Pokémon is. Story, you get a 7, because the text at the beginning... Just stupid, very very stupid.
Same Old Music As Well: The music and other sounds aren't changed in all honesty. Same old music, same old Pokémon cries, just... Same old. So Sound, you get an 8.
A Pretty Good Depth To Be Honest: Pokémon Frost has a pretty good Depth- I won't deny that. But, you might wanna avoid the grass until you use the rare candies to level up... Because, bye-bye for you! All the Pokémon on the first and third route are level 50. You're safe where May is though. Anyways, the Depth is good because it offers Legendaries and other good Pokémon at the beginning- Some are not even in the game itself! This makes the game more easier though. Depth gets a rating of 9.(You can never have enough Depth with Pokémon, don't deny that. :P)
The Addictiveness.. Worse Than A Disease: We all know how it's gonna end with Addictiveness. It's always high rated. I said this in a game(Pokémon Fire Red- Shiny Flame(Beta). It's a fairly good game- Go try it!)"Pokémon is like a Black Hole, it sucks you in, and you will never return." And all Pokémon fans have to admit it- Pokémon is like a Black Hole. I don't know how Nintendo does that.(THEY GOT FRIGGING MAGIC- MAGIC I TELL YOU!) So, as all Pokémon Fans know, Addictiveness is OVER 9000! Nah, just kidding. I wish that was a choice though. It really is the highest choice, a 10.
Conclusion: Pokémon Frosty, one of the simplest hacks out there. Not for hardcore Pokémon Players, a good way to pass the time and relax if you're playing a real Pokémon game. Fun in it's own way, the attempt at humor was worse than any attempt I've seen. I recommend it to people who like easy-to-play games. Enough rambling now, and lets get to the overall score.
Overall Score: 8.
Pokémon Frosty was pretty okay, but it had its moments.
Well, see you guys the next time I decided to pop out!

pokemon frosty review   fusionaceblus
If you play Pokémon, you should know that masterballs catch any wild Pokémon without fail, rare candies gives free levels, and are quite hard to find/get. Well, Pokémon frosty just says "1 DOLLAR MASTERBALLS AND RARE CANDIES!!!1!!".Sounds like an awesome game. Well, this game can't be TOO bad right?
GRAPHICS- the graphics are the same as Pokémon ruby, but the players sprite is a little messed up. If you play as a girl, the player is a blonde and randomly switches between having brown and blonde hair(I guess she can't make up her mind), and if you play as a boy, he has grey hair other than white, and when you run, he has a burnt backside. When you surf or ride the acro bike(either gender), you turn into a negative version of your character, and when you ride the mach bike, you have a bike helmet(about time for safety).
SOUND-The same cries and music from ruby, has normal clarity for the GBA.
ADDICTIVE?-  Yes,or a while maybe, you might get bored after a while having unlimited rare candies and masterballs, and having a team of lvl100 Pokémon. But, you'll most likely stay around and think of strategies for the other games, well, for gym leaders and the elite four(I'll get to that later).
STORY- Ah, the story. Its still the same story for ruby(be the greatest Pokémon master), but, we add to it a little. We start the game moving to littleroot town on a boat(as a boy, truck as a girl), and a team aqua member(who profanely says how heavy the T.V is)  and a moving truck that sounds like a machoke(boy story again, girl story just machokes) gets the stuff placed. You fix the clock and check your stuff, and when you come downstairs, your mom shows you "THE MANY ASSASSINATIONS OF BARNEY". Sounds like a good show. You walk outside, and Aqua Leader Archie who says if you go without Pokémon, they will violate you unless you throw a red ball at it, and if you leave, he tells you to get your butt back, and says you're stupid. If you visit May, she is looking at pr0n(think god we don't see it), says the man have large genitals, swears, and says she'll do anything to you if you don't tell her dad about her p0rn, asks to snuggle, and she goes to the bathroom to do STUFF(an item, maybe?). When you get outside, Archie says birch is getting violated, choose a starter from kanto, and anything from there isn't changed. It would be better if the hacker did more speech changes; so far, it had a lot of potential.
DEPTH- the game doesn't change much from what the game offers in ruby. You can go to battle tower, breed, and have secret bases
DIFFICULTY- Difficulty? What difficulty? The game is the easiest Pokémon game hack there is, catch level 50 Pokémon on the first and third route you go to, level up your Pokémon to 100, and the first few trainers are all lined up so you don't have to face them. The only difficulty is don't walk in the grass on the first and third routes without any pokeballs, and don't over feed rare candies, because they will not listen to you in the first part of the game with level 100 Pokémon. Other than temptation and trial-and-error, the game is super easy.
OVERALL- The game itself is like a sandbox mode, its just too easy, but you can just make it that way, or you can make it harder by not using masterballs or rare candies, or going to the battle tower. The dialogue in the beginning should be through out the game, not the first part. But, if you want to test out strategies for the gym leaders or the elite four, or want to have a super easy game to breeze through, I would check it out.

Not a bad mod, and definitely improves pokemon.   Jim Profit
Despite how I'm giving it such bad ratings statistically... there's a reason I rated this game pretty highly. It's that pokemon is a pretty bad game outright. Extremely unbalanced, tedious, and with lots of annoying traditions it hasn't outgrown. It's nice to see someone make a hack that even if only indirectly, helps fix some of those gratuitous problems.
GRAPHICS: 3.
What alterations have been done actually have downgraded in many ways. While I actually find it amusing that May sports neon hair, and the machoke you see moving your boxes when you move has been replaced with a truck somehow fitting inside your house... it takes away from the entire environment. Especially when many of times it blurs the lines between movable terrain and blockades, or the fact trainers can go through each other. It's all very glitchy, but not so much that it impedes on the game. Just not attractive looking.
SOUND: 3.
Purely the soundtrack to pokemon ruby. This isn't bad... but for a hack to contribute nothing to the sound just seems a bit of a let down.
ADDICTIVENESS: 1.
I do have some things about the game I don't like. Mostly things that would exist in a pokemon game anyway, so it's not the hacker's fault. Essentially to fix pokemon you'd have to work from the ground up. But there is one major flaw.
That rare pokemon, the entire point of this hack... are pretty limited in scope. Oh sure, you can catch a gengar, rayquaza, and a slew of other powerful and unique breeds. But the fact is, I don't see them all put in there. Mind you, I did not play the "WHOLE" game... Because after you leave your home town, the rare pokemon finds end. And you are back to playing boring old ruby... There is no incentive to keep going. Maybe there are more legendaries waiting for you on the outskirts of Honen reigion... But until then, you're stuck just playing ruby over again. And I don't have that kind of patience. If you're a dragon type fan, you're going to love it. Because you get all your dragon needs right there... but for those of us seeking nostalgia in mewtwo or mew, the legendary birds/dogs, or hell... even the ruby/sapphire legendaries. You're going to be sorely disappointed.
STORY: 1.
The story hasn't been changed at all. And frankly what little commentary was changed, seems forced. It comes off too strong when May is "having to hide her internet porn". To be fair, it's a pokemon game. It's not meant to have a story, or memorable npcs, so then why bother?
DEPTH: 1.
As any other pokemon game. This has not at all changed pokemon ruby. Only pulled the teeth out of it's puzzles, level grinding, and danger level.
DIFFICULTY: 1.
Now here's the kicker... this game is not hard. "AT ALL". It's as if you were playing with a Game Genie. And you know what? That's the way it should be!
Your only challenge is figuring out right away your neighborhood is infested with level 50 powerhouses, and making it to the nearest mart to buy masterballs and rare candy so cheap, they may as well be free. Many other reviewers have complained about this iconic change, but me? That's why I sought this one out. This has given pokemon the refreshing change that it needed. It changes the standard completely of why you're playing a pokemon game.
You're not having to solve pain stakingly annoying puzzles, just to get your ass kicked by a gym leader the first two times around. You're not having to constantly plateau level grinding. You don't have to rely on the tired, rigged mathematics of the pokemon catch rate. All the aggravations are gone. And does that take away some challenge? Sure it does... But pokemon makes itself out to be an adventure in exploration, choices, and collecting rare and powerful monsters. Not passing a chemistry exam, whilst zubat gnaw on your head, as you crawl your way out of Mt.Moon! The pokemon games have never really been hard, just aggravating. Putting barricades in front of you, forcing you to think with the left side of your brain while you're getting interrupted by random encounter, after random encounter, and forced into trainer battles because apparently Japanese people never heard of the term "no" or at the very least "later"... is not a challenge. It's a drudgery. And pokemon fans are too in love with the concept to rightfully criticize these extremely flawed designs. You would not be so quick to look past them if this were a less popular game.
The fact that 90% of the trainers are lined up, away from immediate trigger lines to invoke a battle, the fact that you can get really powerful pokemon at the very beginning, and even if you didn't... the rare candies will make whatever you come across level up in a breeze, the fact that there are limitless possibilities in your pokemon arsenal, all make for a huge plus.
OVERALL: 7.9.
One of the better pokemon hacks I've played. I am overall very proud of this kid. (If he's a kid, I don't know...) who took the time to think about how not everyone feels like being a common whelp, begging for a morsel of luck and coinage so that he can build up his ranks. This game makes you feel like a pokemon master. (Or "champion" for the younger crowd...) The pokemon master... is the ubermensch. Free of regret, struggle, turmoil, and sacrifice. There is no death, sorrow, or doubt. Only the will to power. "Thy will be done" you could say...
I like the fact that the hacker took a different direction in scenery too. Making the vast majority of landscape snowy in design. Partially because I like cooler climates, partially because I think it's creative to think up new regions where snow and rain are the norm. I am uncertain if this was purely cosmetic, or infact effected game mechanics in that fire pokemon would get a little screwed.
So I'll put it to you this way, if you never played third generation... this would be one of the better options over many of the other hacks out there, and definitely over the original. For a new pokemon experience entirely, it is also good. You're not going to be doing any battling unless you want too. Maybe occasionally "letting" a trainer come into contact with you to make some money so you can inevitably buy more rare candies and masterballs.
If you want a game that puts you in charge, and let's you actually test the limits of your own power, without the risk of loss or consequence. If you like the idea of just finding new monsters, building up your collection, and deciding which ones you want to hold dominion over, treating your pokemon like a line of clothes and what you feel like wearing today... this is definitely the game for you. I can't say it's the best, but it certainly isn't the worst. I would definitely say it's one of the better pokemon games I've played, and overall I just want to tell the creator of this hack he did a pretty good job, and is probably well on his way to becoming a much better game designer.

Oh where to begin with this very special hack of Pokémon Ruby.First off for any serious Pokémon fans out there, that take battling and a good challenge followed by a decent story seriously, this is not the hack for you. This hack is more for the immature mediocre side of Pokémon fans/players who want to breeze threw a Pokémon game very quickly with no difficulty's at all, and quite frankly get a good laugh here and there while playing this hack.
Graphics: are good basically same as regular Ruby , I found no glitches or screen freezes while playing/beating this hack, but May(your rival)hair seems to change color's as she walks, so I gave it a 10/10.
Sound: is good, I found there is no difference between this hack and regular ruby, that goes for the cries of Pokémon as well, so for sound it got a 10/10
Addictiveness: well for this hack it gets boring and unappealing rather quickly because rare candy's and master balls are available in every town for 1$, plus the game is basically filled with legendary and highly leveled and stat to its peak Pokémon from the very start, which makes for a boring hack that has a very low reason for any if all replay value, so for addictiveness I gave it a 1/10.
Story: it was Ruby's story to the T,except the landscape is different so I do give the creator/hacker points for creativity and originality, so I gave the story a 5/10
Depth: the game has very little to offer other than a good laugh here and there because of Mays dirty jokes in the beginning, and the game is basically a cake walk, you literally have to put forth an effort to lose so as far as beating it goes the amount of time you need to put into it to beat is like maybe  24 hours and or a day so for depth it got a 1/10
Difficulty: this hack was not difficult at all, if you wanted to you could have a team of all level 100's before you even got a single badge, trainers are basically a cake walk because the creator failed to change there Pokémon from regular Pokémon ruby and that goes for the gym leaders and your rival, and the elite 4 as well.

Not Worth your Time   pokemontrainer77
First of all, if you've been reading other reviews, you should already be aware of three key differences between this game and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: language (there happens to be quite a bit of cussing), valuable items being sold cheaply (Master Balls cost $1), and the overabundance of Level 50 Pokemon. I spent most of my day playing this game and I would have easily beaten it... if it hadn't frozen up suddenly just when I was about to battle the Elite Four.
GRAPHICS/SOUND/STORY: These aspects of the game are exactly the same as those in the official Pokemon games.
ADDICTIVENESS: I found Frosty to be less addictive than the Generation III games simply because this game is far too easy. If you're looking for an actual challenge, go play Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
DEPTH: Due to the low level of difficulty (see below), there's not much depth to the game. Of course, if you're one of those people who likes to breeze through games without much thought, Frosty might be the one for you.
DIFFICULTY: I have the same complaint as many others. The first Shop you encounter sells Master Balls for $1, so it's easy to stock up on those. Then you can simply go about catching whatever Pokemon your heart desires. To make things even more simple than they already, the first few routes feature Level 50 Pokemon, even Legendaries. You might as well throw away your starter; I was able to make it to the Elite Four with only a (Level 100) Rayquaza and Lugia.
(Oh yes, and did I mention that Rare Candies were also only $1 each? As long as you don't overextend yourself and level your Pokemon to the point where they don't obey you, using these makes the game so simple that a toddler could probably beat it within a week.)
OVERALL: This is a good game to play only if you have an hour or two to waste. Veterans of Generation III shouldn't have a hard time beating the game even faster than that. Due to the cheap prices of Master Balls and the abundance of Level 50 Pokemon, it will not be difficult at all to win.
EDIT: And to those of you who have noticed my screenshots of this game... it's the perfect remedy to boredom when I don't actually feel like putting effort into a Pokemon game. :P

It's all about The Game and how you play it!   Postman3
GRAPHICS and SOUND
The scenery and introduction of this hack are quite different from Pokémon Ruby. After you start playing, you see Professor Birch as usual, but the silhouette of a Charmeleon pops out of his Poke Ball instead of the Lotad. The moving truck you so cruelly had to ride in the back of is really a copy of Mr. Briney’s boat on the outside. If you pick a girl character, it is still a moving truck. The girl who I will call “May” has hair that changes color as she walks. Once you are in your house, (and if you pick a boy character) you will notice the Pokémon workers are now a Team Aqua member and a moving truck. They still sound like Pokémon, but if you talk to the T.A. Member (or lower Machoke in May’s adventure), he will curse profanely about how heavy his load is. Every time you step into the outside of your new hometown, it will snow and then stop right away. The ground is a blanket of white as are the trees. It could just be frost, hence Pokémon “Frosty”. Get used to this because frost, rain and various levels of snowing are a dominant theme throughout the game. The townspeople are different looking. Professor Birch’s aide is a Magnemite that talks. The person who stops you from leaving town is a Team Aqua grunt. There is what looks like staircases on the first two routes that help you avoid the grass. I quickly learned why I should avoid the grass on the first three routes. (I will give you more on that later.) The sounds and music are usual for the Hoenn region games. The imagery and dialog seem bizarre, yet somehow still enjoyable. I still like the way my character morphs into a little person with a cape when he runs. The bike helmet is not too shabby either. Note: As you catch more Pokemon and fill up your box, you will notice some are slightly discolored when in the box.
STORY
Moreover, on dialog, Professor Birch now calls his laboratory a “tunnel“. The first television broadcast your character sees returns to a show called “The Many Assassinations of Barney”. The T.A. Grunt that bars you from escaping town initially says that Pokémon will violate you if you go into the grass. So far, so good. When you talk to your rival for the first time, it is the same as normal if he is a boy. If it is a girl, she is viewing some unseen (thankfully) “adult material” and talking to herself about it at first. Then as usual May acts surprised, but then swears, introduces herself and offers her “services” to you as long you don’t tell Professor Birch about her leisure time “activities”. Then she briefly mentions snuggling and excuses herself to do STUFF. Yes, in bold type.  Have I mentioned I like this story?  You pick from Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. I usually pick Bulbasaur. The second town has a hidden compartment that you can enter. The rest of the early game goes off without any major change.
DIFFICULTY
The game is easier in some respects. There is a strong temptation to use dirt cheap Master Balls and Rare Candies to catch level 50 Pokémon and level them up right to the maximum. What fun would that be though? I now know what I would do with veritably unlimited Rare Candies. I’d use them only sparingly for Pokémon that are weaker than is manageable for steady game play and ones like Abra and Magikarp that don’t have attacks to effectively defend themselves in battle. The level 50 monsters on the first three routes are not the kind I like to own. They have already forgotten the level up attacks I really want them to have. I did not catch them in my most recent save file. I prefer to take my time and raise my team normally. The Master Balls for sale are always a big plus. I do not have to spend a ton of time catching a good team. I can just throw a purple ball and have it done. Many other good items are also cheaper than spit. That includes the Mach Bike. Hooray! The route trainers are lined up in nice little rows for you to challenge whenever you please. The gym trainers are easier to get at. The third route tall grass is shaped in the word “COOL” so it is easier to avoid. I suggest learning CUT before challenging the group of trainers on route 116 because accidents do happen. You may find yourself in a situation where you have to CUT your way out.
ADDICTED?
I am. This hacked version of Pokémon Ruby adds so much adventure to the fold that I will probably see this one through to the end. I will maybe log 100 to 200 more plays on this game alone. That is somewhat normal in today’s world. With video game culture so prevalent, who isn't a gamer? Can I get a Hoothoot? (Maybe not in this game.) That is right! I just made a Pokémon double entendre. Ha!
DEPTH
As I explained earlier, this game has as much depth and difficulties as you want it to have. You need only resist the urge to make it too easy for yourself and you will have hour after hour of entertainment. The Pokedex seems to keep up with to reorganized wild Pokémon supply. You can find Pelipper and Wingull by running over water on the fifth route. Yay!
OVERALL
I would say you should try it. The worst that could happen is perhaps losing control and going on a Rare Candy feeding frenzy. Then you might have a bunch of high-level brutes that will not obey you. Does that sound like fun or is my way better? Either way, I believe the choice on that issue is an improvement on the game. Let me know what you think.

As mediocre as it gets   monkeysky
I'm not even sure what to say here. The actual changes to the game end past the second town, but the effects of those pretty much defeat the purpose of playing. The graphics have somehow been changed to look much worse. Some of the maps are so bafflingly glitchy, requiring the player to memorize invisible walls and walk over water or through structures. Overall, this whole thing has very little changes from the original game, and all of them could be argued as very bad. Unless you desperately need a hack with infinite rare-candies and Master Balls, just play the actual game instead.

IDK whether to play this game... I'd only play it for the glitches. How do you battle the rival with no Pokemon?

This game is extremely glitchy! I have never played a game on this website that has this many glitches. But the glitches aside, it is a pretty good game.
