Pokemon Fire Red Reviews

8.5
A great remake for a cultural phenomenon   gamerforlifefor..
The Pokemon series is one of the biggest reasons I became a gamer. I still to this day love everything about the series and I always will. The first pokemon game I got was Pokemon Red for the gameboy. It's the game that got me hooked on the RPG genre and it made a huge impact on my life. When the remake for red was announced, I was so excited! That game, is known as Pokemon Fire Red! Today I'll be making a review for the game.
Graphics: 9/10 The graphics are similar to Pokemon R/S/E. For the GBA system the graphics are great and I can't think of very many other games for the system that look better than the 3rd gen pokemon games.
Sound: 7/10 I know a lot of you will probably disagree with me on this category, but I personally thought Pokemon Red's version of the soundtrack was better than Fire Red's version of the music. One reason for this is because I felt like Gamefreak botched Lavender Town's theme in Fire Red. It's nowhere near as scary and creepy as the original theme. Also I felt like the gym leader theme was not quite as good as the original. I felt like Red's version was more epic than the version in this game. The only music that I felt like Fire Red outdid the original was the champion theme. Out of all the versions of that masterpiece that I've heard, Fire Red's version is my favorite. I feels perfect for a final battle. Because Gamefreak at least did a great job remaking the champion theme in this game, I'm taking it easy on the sound by giving it a 7.
Addictiveness: 8/10 Like Pokemon Red, this game has 3 great starters: Charmander who's my favorite fire type starter of all time, Squirtle the best turtle pokemon ever, and bulbasaur who I never use because the other 2 starters are much better imo. Also this game is just as fun to play as the original. One problem I did have with this game though is the lack of double battles. I know this is a remake but they could've added some double battles in there, but unfortunately they didn't. While this was disappointing, this didn't effect the replay value so I'm giving the addictiveness an 8.
Story: 6/10 Not surprisingly, the main story hasn't changed at all. You play as Red (or whatever you want to call him), and you follow him on his journey through the Kanto region. You battle your rival Blue on several occasions, beat the gym leader and earn their badges, bring down the original criminal organization Team Rocket, and eventually take on the Pokemon League. What has changed though is there's now post game content which I'll talk about in the depth section of this review. Since the main story hasn't changed, and the story wasn't anything spectacular to begin with, I'm giving the story a 6.
Depth: 7/10 Compared to Pokemon Emerald (which I also did a review on) Fire Red doesn't have a ton of post game content. There was one thing that was added that gave this game some depth however, and that's the Sevii Islands. The Sevii Islands can be accessed after you beat the pokemon league. The Sevii Islands take awhile to complete and they also act as a post story as well, which I won't spoil. On one of the islands, you'll find the trainer tower, which is similar to the battle tower in Pokemon R/S/E. That's about it as far as depth is concerned. Since there is some post game content I'm giving the depth a 7.
Difficulty: 5/10 The game overall isn't super difficult. The only things that can be challenging in this game are catching legendaries and getting through the trainer tower. Other than that the game isn't very hard. This game will provide a challenge to players who aren't familiar with the Pokemon series however. Since there isn't a lot of really challenging moments in this game, I'm giving the difficulty a 5.
Overall Score: 8.5/10 Though the music could've been better and Gamefreak could've added more double battles, Pokemon Fire Red is still a great remake to the super popular Pokemon Red. While I would say that Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald are all better games than Fire Red, I still say that people should still play this great game. This game gets a solid score of 8.5 out of 10 from me.

My opinion of Pokemon FireRed!   goodboy
Pokémon FireRed. The remake to the classic Pokémon Red, which was the best selling RPG, according to the 2009 issue of the Guinness World Record Book. It is also the counterpart of Pokémon LeafGreen, which was based off of the classic Pokémon Green, which I believe was only released in Japan. Regardless, we got Pokémon Blue. LeafGreen is just basically what we would have gotten if Green was released in the U.S.. With this game offering new opportunities and old memories, this game is a perfect example of what Nintendo and Co. can do with old games. And, now, without further ado, please sit back, and enjoy my second review.
Graphics - 10
Yes, graphics is a perfect, solid, 10. Compared to Red, this is a huge bump up. Let me explain.
First, the character sprites. The main character sprites are just, awesome. If you could marry video game sprites, this would be my spouse. You can tell that the main character was meant to be Ash (or, well, Red) with the nice and clean hat and clothing, even in the overworld sprites. It's nice, clean, and colorful all around the overworld sprite. Red is easily distinguishable. His in-battle sprite is no trash bag, either. It's perfect. You can tell it was meant to be Ash (in video game form) with the nicely drawn hat and bag.  And, now, they have a new character option, which is a female! And, though I haven't played with it, I've seen videos which show how nice the overworld and in-battle sprites are. Very clean, and very well done.
The rival wasn't so bad, either. You could tell it was meant to be Gary from the anime, and it wasn't so bad, really. The overworld sprite for Gary was quite clean and easy to notice. There's not much to say about it. It was shown nicely and cleanly. However, the main thing about Gary I want to say is the in-battle sprite. It's not bad, but it isn't perfect. They could have added a little more to him, but, really, it doesn't matter. All it is is your rival, and the game is for the fun of it. But, I mean, still. They could have worked out Gary's sprite a little better than they did. It's not as clean as you'd expect, but, I mean, hey. It's technically the third generation of Pokémon, or the remake of a first generation game, so I shouldn't be as picky as I am.
Next thing about the near perfect graphics is the overworld scenery. You have to admit how awesome they are. Such clean grass and trees, which are oddly the same size, shape, texture, and in the same pattern as always. Viridian Forest is a great example. The new trees are awesome, as is the grass. The houses are also beautiful. The graphics on and in the houses are delightful. Personally, I think these video game houses are better looking than my own house in real life. And the in-battle scenery is no worse. If you're in grass, the floor under you is grass. If on sand, it's sand. If you're in a cave, it's dirt and minerals. It's beautiful. And that white space near the options in-battle is covered with "What will *** do", which makes it cleaner than ever. I fell in love with these graphics.
Last thing about the graphics are Pokémon and their moves. You just have to fall in love with the Pokémon graphics, front and, er, "back". They're just really, really, really clean. They really improved on how they looked. Pikachu, for example. Back in Pokémon Red, he had no color, and, even if technology wasn't advanced back then, I found it pretty ugly (I REALLY mean no offense here). Now, he looks like a superstar, all colored and beautiful. And if that's not enough, you should check the moves out. The move Flamethrower, and even Fly look like magic. The moves are so much cleaner with color. It's awesome. They really improved on everything, graphic-wise, at least. I love the graphics.
Sound - 9
The sounds in this game are awesome. They deserve a 9. Time to elaborate.
First of all, the music for Pokémon battles and trainers. For example, the rival battle music. It's awesome. The music is different from any other music there is in the game. Even if you had terrible memory, if the rival music played, your amnesia would lift, and you'd immediately say, "Hey, look, Gary wants to fight!". And when Gary walked off like the snob he is, the music that played was awesome. I loved it. Instead of being a regular snob, he was a snob with a really awesome song that followed him around where ever he went. If he had his cheerleaders, like in the anime, he'd be the disco snob.
The music for the gym leaders and the Elite Four were divine. You could tell you were battling someone of high authority. Sometimes, the music fit the situation. Like, if both of you were on your last Pokémon, with critical health, the music would fit. And, when you beat them, you would actually feel proud about beating the pixel prowlers. I really don't have anything else to say about it, except the fact that you would know who and what you were dealing with when listening to the music.
Don't get me started about the music while fighting the giant Pokémon thugs, Team Rocket. You could tell you were fighting gang members, no matter how pathetic they are. They were threatening (at least, the music was), and no matter how easy Giovanni was, his music would make you feel like you were battling a real gangster. Even though the beginning of this paragraph made you think this paragraph would be long, this is all I have to say about the threatening Team Rocket.
And for all the music in between, it's not all too bad. It's so memorable, that's for sure. They kind of candy, rainbow, lollipops'd Lavender Town's music up a little bit, but, really, it's not too bad. The music for wild Pokémon and regular Pokémon battles are cool. And the soundtracks for the towns are really good. This, all together, deserves a 9.
Addictiveness - 7
Only a seven, yep. I'll explain why.
This game is my favorite Pokémon game. Yet, it kind of isn't something you would replay all too much. The gym battles are nice and okay, and all of the memories in game make up for the seven. But, after the gym leaders, the Elite Four and the Champion come up. Most of the time, they floored me with OP Pokémon. Sure, it was a challenge, but I'm not impressed. Even if you did beat the Champion, there wasn't really much to do afterwards. I didn't really appreciate that. But, what makes up for it is the early game stuff. Getting your starter is always fun, and so is training from scratch. Fighting gym leaders and getting badges is amazing, in my opinion. But, the Elite Four is so jarring, that either: a) You'll never win or b) You'll always win. It's not really that fun in either scenario. The Ice types in the game are a little limited, so Lance is mostly a pain.
But, this is all my opinion, I bet there are people out there who love every aspect of the game, and if they do, I mean no offense to them. To those people, I say: Rock on, and keep lovin'!
Story - 6
A six. Not a good score, really. I'll say why.
Since this is a remake of Pokémon Red, this is, per se, the "original" Pokémon storyline. However, it isn't that strong of a story line. First, before becoming Negative Nancy, I want to comment on why I bumped it up to a six and not lower. Well, as I said, it is the "original" Pokémon storyline. Also, it isn't realistic, and that's awesome. I'm a sucker for fantasy RPGs.  I liked how the dad is a mystery, and the main character never talks. Also, a freaking ten year old beats up a crime syndicate! Who doesn't love THAT?
Now, here comes Nancy. It jars me how it's only a mom is present, and though I like the mystery daddy, I dislike how the mother has no interjection whatsoever when we're leaving the house except that the TV said that boys leave home someday. Really? And, Team Rocket taking over Silph Co. is awkward. Gary's inside, and says that you're ready to battle Giovanni. HOW DOES HE KNOW?! And, I find it interesting who the Champion is. It makes me hotheaded, and beating him makes me happy.
I guess I'm just not a huge fan of Pokémon storylines, despite how much I love Pokémon.
Depth - 6
Yeah. Six. I'll elaborate.
It's not really that high for an average gamer. For a rookie gamer, it's harder. But personally, this is really easy. At the beginning, and a little bit after that, the depth is actually pretty high, giving it a six. But, after the gym leaders and most of the Elite Four, there isn't much to do. Sure, some new areas opened up, big deal. The only big thing left to do is catch legendaries and little things like that. Not as amusing as the beginning. Sure, the developers couldn't have made the post-game amazing, but, I'm picky about how little it does offer. If you want to beat the Elite Four over and over again, that's an option. They're leveled up higher, I believe. Level up your Pokémon to level 100. Sure, go ahead. You can do that by yourself, but the developers sort of rushed to finish this game, I guess. Not a BIG, BIG deal, but something that rustles my nerves.
Difficulty - 5
Now, my review is coming to an end. I'll explain my rating of a five on difficulty right now.
Almost everyone has played Pokémon at one point in their life. Most of them amused. A few of them disliked the franchise. Why would they dislike the innocent Pokémon games? Most of them would do it for this reason: the simplicity.
We know Pokémon is for a younger audience, and it isn't meant to be a brain game. But, it's too easy. All you need is an easy battle plan, execute it, and woo. You just won the battle. Unless you chose overall weak Pokémon, and most people can tell what's weak and what isn't, the game is a piece of cake. I've nuzlocked the game, and I'll admit, it was easier than expected. I know, it isn't meant to be hard, but, honestly. The first few gym leaders are pretty tough. And the Elite Four is tougher (as you can tell from my complaining about them up in my review somewhere). That deserves a five. Everything else is a slap on the knee. Like I said, it's supposed to be easier than most games, but, I'm not that amused with it being that easy.
Overall - 9.4
After my occasional rants and praises, I commend this game with a high overall rating. The game is such a great game (with a few workbacks), it just amazes me. Pokémon Red was the first game I played, and I enjoyed the remake so, so much. Yes, this game could be a little more irritating than Pokémon Red itself, but, it really doesn't matter. Ha ha ha.
Thanks to all of you for reading my second review. I realize it went from lengthy to cheap quality, and for that, I apologize. When I wrote the first part, I was peppy and happy. A few days later, I continued, and I was pretty tired and rushed to get this up. Sorry again for that. I'm really sorry if I offended anyone. That was not my intention. I just tend to get very excited when I'm ranting... Sorry. Again, this was my second review. If you'd like to recommend what I should write a review on next, PM me. Thanks for reading!

just a normal POkemon fire red review   deggle
Meow I'm back with Pokémon Fire Red review YAY! The best come from the the worst..... I'm kidding I don't even know what that means it just popped in my head well now time for the review paazze REVIEWING BEGIN.
Graphics 8 well the graphics aren't always the best especially in Pokémon the graphics are as you say norrrrrmal they are nice graphics don't get me wrong but I think the old red game had better because it showed what bubble and water gun and the other actually looked like sooo sorry game but YOU LOSE in the graphics department in other things you are better.
Sound! 9 yes the music has stepped up from the old game no boom bum boom bum now its nice flutes and drums and stuff the soundings are what better then the old one by everything the rival theme battle theme even the champion theme is better woot woot I like the sound effects when you hit a enemy and that's pretty much it for sound.
Addictiveness 8 yes an 8 probs be high I did play this a few times I even completed the pokedex hooray I caught nidoran female in fire red and there is %5 chance of finding one and I found one my first battle in the tall grass next to Mt.moon its really fun to fight Gary over and over and over noooo stop with that. He sucks its fun to be like the hero beating that jerk Gary but there is one good quality about him...... you can name him anything! And when prof.Oak tells Garry to shut up when he is this part of game rival name shut up you can get one too wait your turn.
Story! 10 omg a ten I cant believe this yes you can the story is fun to hear and play you are the hero in the world of creatures called Pokémon hooray you play as the boy Red or the girl Green who to choose either one if you choose girl you an show Gary that he has been beaten by a girl yes humiliate him that will teach him a lesson and you can choose from three starters charmander the fire lizard Squirtle the baby turtle and Bulbasaur the seed Pokémon there is no best way to go the story will progress after every badge you get and HM you obtain and is or able to use like sometimes you need surf find it in the safari zone and remember those badges or you cant get any further in the game.
Depth 7 the game shows kind but inconsiderate moves in the game like watch out Gary attack out of nowhere you need to heal up sucks you cant haha like that it does take some time to beat though its pretty like flat out do this and you get this stuff do that you beat the game but its still pretty deep even though some parts maybe be flat straight out just like that I mean really give something super challenging like the impossible game which I own and hate.
Difficulty  6 hmm its not too hard of a game but if your struggling then you don't know the secret of winning here it is.......ahem LEVEL UP you dumb head I mean really its pretty easy if you ask the other 50,000 people in the world they would say level them up dude come setup its that easy to win okay that's it.
Overall score dun dun dun 8meows out of 10 or like this 6+7+10+8+9+8=48 divide by six meows and you get 8 meows of 10 yay

Pokemon Fire red review   SacredShadow
Overall: This game is amazing and I truly enjoyed playing it. It is an excellent remake of the original fire red and it is much like the original Pokémon red game with the exception of a few things, you have islands 1,2 and 3 that you can visit. This game is just an example of a very good, sleek classic remake of an already great game with several new features added from the original fire red, I must say I had a great time playing this game because the quality of detail and material in the game that made it so much more enjoyable. This game is a very interesting, fun game that combines all of the great qualities of Pokémon red and pushes them all the way up to a whole new level.
Graphics- The graphics are as clear and sleek as they will ever get, they are very nice and the colors and detail sets up for a very realistic gaming experience. Also, they are quite a step up from Pokémon red's fuzzy looking pixel Pokémon, it is very clear and the detail is sharp and it is only the best you can expect out of a top notch Pokémon game. I scored the graphics a 10 out of 10 because of how crystal clear and high quality the graphics are in this game, very well done.
Sound- The sound is basically the same as in the red version. I think they should add a different sound track or make a completely new one from the basic one we have become used to. But it is very original and the quality of the sound itself is very good and the music Gamefreak used in all of its Pokémon games are like this, very basic and like your standard Pokémon game, so I scored them based on how original and how the quality of the music sounded, and I scored it a perfect 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness: All Pokémon games in general are very addictive because of the amount of material you are able to do in the game. This game is addicting in particular because it is a remake of the original red, and it leaves you with newer features like enhanced graphics, and it is a very well made remake and it leaves you with hours of guaranteed fun and game play because of how well it was designed based upon fire red. All of the features are enhanced with sharper graphics, more clear sound and lots of extra stuff to keep new players interested. I spent hours training for gyms, the elite four, and searching for shiny Pokémon and coming up with good move sets and training them as close to their full potential in their best stat as I could. It has a lot of material to offer making it very addictive to all players thus earning a 10 out of 10 for addictiveness.
Story: The Pokémon storyline is always kept the same, and this game is nearly exact to the regular red version with the exception that it has the addition of the extra islands and it makes it a better remake but the creativity isn't really at its possible full potential, there is nothing overly special or unique about it that makes it stand out from other Pokémon games, the story is always the same starting off as a young trainer who ventures off and faces the elite 4 and becomes a champion of the region. It is very basic and stays consistent to all other Pokémon games. Being so I scored it an 8 out of 10 because it could've had greater potential.
Depth: The game has a lot to offer and the enhanced details of the Pokémon, the places, the scenery and landscape are very well put together. The game is more lengthy than the original because of the extra added content that keeps the game interesting while also presenting an interesting challenge as well. I beat the game in 7 days without skipping trainers and battles, this is a game that will keep you hooked and wanting to play it even more to see what lies ahead whether you are new to Pokémon or not, this game boasts hours of fun and keeps you interested and hooked to playing the game. For instance you can catch Mewtwo after you have beaten the elite 4 and you can catch articuno, moltres and zapdos as well making the game more extended and filled with extra stuff to do after and prior to the elite 4 and the end of the game. I scored the depth an 8 out of 10 because of how much content the game presents.
Difficulty: The game is not overly difficult to beat, you can basically beat most of the gyms and elite 4 with a good consistent well trained team, your Pokémon do not have to be level 100 to defeat the elite 4, and you don't have to stress over having super high leveled Pokémon if you have a balanced team. Anyone can pick up on Pokémon within playing it for only a few minutes, the game is fairly easy but also slightly challenging to keep you interested in playing as well. The game play itself is basically the same as it was in red version which was not hard at all, so I scored the difficulty a 6 out of 10.

Pokémon: Fire Red - Review by Dean 2k13 (FEATURED)   Dean2k13
Graphics 10/10
Considering this is a newer version of the original Pokemon game 'Pokemon Red' for the gameboy color I will have to comment on that game also and I will compare and contrast both games too.
The graphics within this game are really spectacular, I can clearly see the creators of this game really put in a great amount of time and effort into making this game's graphics superb, they obviously took a look back at the previous version of this game, the original Pokemon Red which was specifically made for the Gameboy Color. The creators enhanced the colouring, the sprites, the scenery and the overall presentation of the game greatly which deserves a huge amount credit, that they do deserve. I thought the creators did excellent job in making the graphics of this game amazing.
Lets start with the character sprites. I fell in love with the character sprites immediately, it was almost instantaneous as I could see great improvements made in the use of colouring in this version than to the previous Pokemon Red. The characters are extremely attractive in the sense that they particularly relate to the Pokemon anime series. The hat/cap that the main character (you) is attired with in the game is really awesome, it is the original hat/cap that Ash Ketchum (the main character in the anime series) wears which I really like. The great use of fiery & ruby reds used on the hat/cap were extremely vivid and precise, the vivid reds of the hat/cap obviously tying in with the title of the game Pokemon 'Fire Red'  which is extremely effective and relates to the game perfectly. The colour used in the particular clothing that 'Ash' is acquired with is also very eye-pleasing, there was also a great use of vivid reds and dazzling whites used in the making of these clothes, although not much detail was put into clothing of this character it was still particularly brilliant because as I said before, it ties in with the anime series which is ever so effective.
Now for the rival character introduced in the game (Gary), this character'a visual appearance in the game isn't as pleasing as Ash's. The shading of the colour black wasn't used effectively on Gary's torso, when I say torso I refer to his upper clothing. In the anime series Gary's top/t-shirt is very attractive in that there is a great use of blacks and grays, we didn't get that with the game. The blacks used on Gary's torso were faded and very dim and discoloured which didn't attract me to the game at all, a little bit more effort into Gary's clothing would have made a great impact on my thoughts and opinions of the graphics used on this character's clothing. However, having said that, there was tremendous efforts used in the characters facial expression and hair, there was great uses of browns and whites. The brown colouring for his hair were fantastic, there were good visual aids used in this particular area of the characters sprite, even on his face too, the pale-ish white colours were used effectively and they didn't go too heavily on the shading also which is very good and great to see.
All in all, the character sprites in this game were generally impressive and should be given credit.
The Scenery - Oh my word, the scenery in this game is extremely, extravagantly epic in my opinion.
Lets start with the trees, caves, routes, pathways, all of the natural substances in the game. The trees and grass in this game were utterly amazing and that's an understatement. There were many shadings of green used in this particular aspect of the game, there were light, faded greens which may have signified the light shining upon them which is extremely effective as it relates to everyday life, plants do react to sunlight in that way. As we began to look at the outer parts of the trees the colours got darker and darker as they sprung out from the core of the tree, not forgetting that the trees are tightly spaced together, this ties in with the darker colours that were used in the making of the trees as we all know as trees get closer parts of it shuffle behind another tree, this prevents light reaching that part of the tree and thus the greens get darker. Very powerful and we can relate to this, this is what I want to see in a game's graphics - attention to detail. This also applies to the grass.
The colours of brown used in the making of the outer parts of the caves were also very precise and clear as there were many different shadings used. There were also cracks in the caves which obviously shows the creators really went all out and there was evidence that attention to detail was key here and they pulled it off fantastically. The interiors of the caves were also amazing, the lighting was reduced and it really made me feel as if I was in a cave myself, this is very effective and again ties in with real life. The flooring of the interiors of the caves were also worked on very well, there were great shadings of browns/oranges/greys and blacks, as you can see many colours were introduced and were all mixed sparingly, meaning it wasn't patchy or uneven.
The towns - the towns in this game were specifically tremendous, there was so much attention to detail. I thought 90% of the towns in the game were extremely well built and structured however, I didn't particularly like Pallet Town, the first ever town you visit as it's Ash's hometown of course. The colouring used in the house and scenery of this town were really inadequate, all features of the town appeared to be really faded and I refer to the colours when I say that. They made me feel like I was in the 19th century, and that's not where a gamer wants to be. And, for the sheer size of the town, it's very small therefore time could have been spent on improving the visuality of the town, the appearance. As I said before, this is the first town a player of this game will see therefore it must be very pleasing and attractive as it will appeal to the player and make them want to see more of the amazing graphics in store for them in the game. Having said that, many towns were extremely detailed and a lot of effort went into them, especially Saffron City, The use of gold in this town was very attractive.  The town was itself was spectacular, the cobbled paths were really attractive, great use of grays/whites and blacks were used. The buildings locations in the town weren't too great in my opinion, some necessary buildings were hard to locate at times. But seriously,  this was one of the best towns in the game.
Sounds 10/10
In my precious review of the game Pokemon Shiny Gold I referred to this game many times about the sound, so this will very similar to that particular section of that review.
The sounds in this game were very similar to that of the  sounds in Pokemon Red. I'm very pleased with that actually because the sounds in that game were amazing, it brought back special memories. The classic sound that plays when you catch your first Pokemon, even though it plays every time you catch a Pokemon it's still pretty awesome and really nice to listen to. It makes you feel that you completed a goal and to be proud of yourself. I also really enjoyed the creepy tunes of the basements in the game it makes you feel that your on a mission and you can't be seen. It really pulls on your senses, you're always alert and ready for battle in the basements because of the music.
The Pokemon battle music is also very awesome to listen to, it's a really fast tune that gets your blood pumping and makes you really competitive and therefore you really want to win, and probably will do so. The music also has great vibes to it. I really enjoyed listening to music in Saffron City, the music in that city is very calm and relaxing it really  soothes you after all the battles in the routes before that town. The music in Celadon's Game Corner is specifically amazing too, it is a very happy and playful tune and was a perfect choice for that particular venue. Also, the Pokemon league music was extremely fierce! The tunes were very fast and upbeat and filled you with determination and at times ruthlessness, it also made you believe that you could conquer the league and that's all I needed to succeed.
Addictiveness 9/10
This game is very, very addictive, oh my word is it addictive. When I was a kid I would play this game until the cows came home and I still do play it all the time, it's an amazing game and it really created my childhood! The more I played this game the more I fell in complete love with it. There were so many different things you could do, there were no end to the possibilities! The KANTO region is by far the best region is whole world of Pokémon, the Pokemon within this particular region are incredible! In this game you have the three starters you could ever ask for in Pokémon, in my opinion - Charmander the fiery devil, Squirtle the blue beast, and Bulbasaur the lazy lump! These Pokémon made me an addict to the game, they are so awesome and dominant. Also, the legendary Pokémon were extremely extravagant, in my opinion the best legendary Pokémon in the history of Pokémon! You have Lugia, HO-OH, Entei/Raikou/Suicine, Mew Two, Deoxys and many more, that is what drew me into the game and made me want to play it even more, the variety of legendaries available.
There was no end to the Pokémon battles, every corner you turned there was a trainer that you had to conquer and defeat, this made the game extremely addictive and made it that there was always something to do even if it was just battling! As you may have noticed from previous reviews, I love battling, because it provides me with excitement and adrenalin, and of course thrill which I really love in a game. The Pokemon battles in this game were actually very challenging and sometimes it was nearly impossible to beat the rival trainer, but this is a good thing because the more challenging a game is, the more fun you get out of it, and I also love difficult battles too! There was also a Pokémon Trainer Tower which was utterly fantastic! This meant that the battles were always flowing and you could level your Pokémon pretty easily therefore you could conquer the league without any difficulty or pressure. I really love leveling Pokémon so this drew me into the game also. The league in this game were surprisingly hard at times, the elite four were very forceful and dominant so it took a little elbow grease to beat them. But, this meant that there was great satisfaction after succeeding and I felt very proud of myself, and it's that feeling that inspires you to play the game.
To sum that up, this game is extremely addictive, once you start playing this game you will immediately get sucked into it because it's absolutely brilliant and addictive. as I say.
Story 7/10
This game is very similar to the Pokémon games before this (Red, Blue, Green). The story is exactly the same, you are welcomed to Pokémon world by the region Professor (Elm, Oak etc.), you choose the name of your character, you then choose the name of your rival which in this case is Gary. After all that you are advised to visit Oak, the professor. However, in this game he isn't there which makes you think and wonder where he is or what trouble he may be into - creating an atmosphere which is very effective.  You then are given the choice of one out of three possible Pokemon, Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle. You collect GYM badges throughout the region and beat the region's Pokémon league, all very straight forward.
However, your rival in this game is Gary, and if you've played this game you'll know he's one tough old bird. Gary is extremely brilliant at battling, if you watch the anime series' you will completely understand what I mean when I say that. He chooses a Pokémon after you choose one, and you can guess what he chooses, he chooses the Pokémon that is more effective against your Pokémon, so he may have a great advantage over you when it comes to battling him later on in the game. You encounter Gary throughout the game in fact, he's usually outside every GYM you defeat or are about to defeat. He'll challenge you then and you best be ready because he's very difficult in my opinion especially because he chose Squirtle (when I was playing) which is a water-type and is obviously more dominant over a fire-type.
There's no real help in this game which is terrible because friends and help is really what you need in a Pokémon game to succeed, they motivate you so it was a disappointment as Pokémon Gold provided the assistance of Lance and he really helped you conquer the game.

This game's story is really based on Ash's story in the anime series, he is always encountered by Gary throughout his adventures into the world of Pokémon. Overall, the story in this game isn't very detailed and could have been made a lot longer in my opinion.
Depth 8/10
This game is really detailed in a sense too, but not as detailed as other Pokémon games such as Pokémon Saphire and Emerald. However, there is a lot of depth to it as well as your straight forward choosing your Pokemon, beating the gyms, defeating team rocket and becoming pokemon champion, there's more than just that in this game which is really nice to see. Not only do you beat the league but you can beat the Pokémon Trainer Tower which I may have mentioned earlier in this review, after conquering the substantially hard tower you get really neat rewards which can greatly benefit you in the game especially around the GYM's and the Elite.
The whole Team Rocket scandal in this game takes forever to resolve, there's so many tasks and challenges to overcome before actually finding the leader of the them all, Giovanni. You encounter hundreds of Team Rocket grunts before even having a glimpse at this man. There are so many basements (Celadon City) and layers that you must conquer before encountering Giovanni, this adds great depth to the game and allows you to have more game play which all gamers love! I really love hard and enduring challenges because they require a great deal of thought and attitude, which is brilliant for me because I love keeping my brain active. This reminds me of the puzzles in the game. It's really confusing as there's so much tele-porting involved, from room to room and then back to the start, you will need a great deal of perseverance and stamina to complete these puzzles and finally taking on Giovanni. After that, you can defeat the league which takes a long time considering their Pokémon are absolute beasts.
Not only is there many towns but there are many islands too! After defeating the league, you can access the Sevii Islands and other islands of that matter! You can encounter many rare Pokémon in them islands including Lugia and Ho-oH. There are also a lot of puzzles in these islands and within the puzzles there are many, many long and enduring battles. All of this adding to the depth of the game.
Overall this game is very long and there is a lot of game play in store for you!
Difficulty 10/10
In my opinion, this game is really difficult and I have to be fully honest in saying that. I found the GYM's really tough to beat, especially the last two or three, their Pokémon were really advanced and a lot stronger than mine, but I finally succeeded after about twenty tries. The league was also very difficult, It took me at least thirteen tries before I conquered them, I always fell at the last hurdle. The elite were too tough for me, I had to go back and re-train my Pokémon before trying them for the final time. I especially hated the ghost Pokémon in the league because all my Pokémon knew were Normal-Type moves and they're completely ineffective toward ghost-type Pokémon. I really recommend that you train up your Pokémon before even attempting the league!
Catching the legendary Pokémon in the game was fairly easy in my opinion because they didn't really have any strong moves, but they did have annoying moves (recover) which really got on my nerves, I would take away almost every Health Point they had but they would just use recover and it regained them their health back. I only found one Pokémon hard to capture, that Pokémon was Suicine. Suicine isn't in a fixed position so it's extremely difficult to even encounter him, he was also too hard to capture in balls, it also fled a few times on me which wasn't too nice! But, I learned a Pokémon Mean Look and there was no way it was leaving anymore.
Overall 9.2/10
Overall I think this game is the best Pokémon game I've ever played. The graphics are extremely precise and clear, I loved them so much, there was so much attention to detail, great use of colour and shadings. The graphics were amazing! If it's graphics you look for in a game, then this game is the game for you. The sounds in the game were tremendous and soothing, they really made me feel good while playing the game and really helped me focus. The game was extremely difficult for me, so if you love hard games give this game a try! The story lineis basic and simplistic but it's long, and there's great depth involved.
I will conclude my saying please try this game because it's the most amazing game you'll ever play, guaranteed!

FireRed: Quite the Remake   tj4bigred
Well, here I go, reviewing another game. Pokemon FireRed this time.
Pokemon in a nutshell...? Pokemon are adorable little creatures similar to the animals that inhabit our world. The difference is... These little guys are powerful. Some are legendary, some are as common as field mice. They are caught by trainers in capsule spheres called Pokeballs, and are used in battles. Pokemon are many different types, like Fire, Water, or Grass, and these types play out in Rock, Paper, Scissors fashion. The idea is to catch all the Pokemon, train them in battles to make them stronger, and then challenge the toughest of the tough... The Gym leaders and Elite Four. If you beat them and the champion, you are in the Hall of Fame. But alas there is still much to do after beating the Champion. That is what Pokemon games so replayable.
Pokemon FireRed is a remake of Pokemon Red, the first Pokemon game ever made. GameFreak always does a good job with remakes, by improving on the original, while older players still feel the nostalgia.
Graphics are great compared to Red, but to comparing them to the game system, Pokemon was capable of doing more. Pokemon animations were ignored again, which is disappointing because it actually makes you feel like you're battling creatures instead of flat sprites. Other than that, flowers sway, waves crash against the beach, move animations are cool.
Sound is good. The music is wonderful, and the battle themes for legendaries and boss battles is usually cool. The only drawback may be the cries of Pokemon, which seem like beeps but remixed for each Pokemon. They could've just used the Pokemon saying their name as cries. Pika Pika!
Hmm addictiveness. Every battle is different, and leveling up, learning moves, and evolving pulls you in immediately. Trying to catch em all can prove to be addicting too, like trying to get Chansey and Kanghaskan in the Safari Zone. And if you have the actual cartridge, you can spend hours going back to catch Pokemon to transfer to Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver.
Pokemon Game = Terrible Story. This is a fact. I gave it a six though, because maybe I'm a sucker for the whole ten year old kid saves world from evil criminal gangsters thing.
Depth is amaing like any Pokemon game. Every Pokemon is different, in stats, moves, types... My Pikachu could be different from your Pikachu even! Natures, EV's, IV's, movesets.... The most dedicated Pokemon fan can spend days trying to mold the perfect Pokemon! Plus, there are 386 Pokemon to catch, 7 islands to explore, and powerful trainers to battle... If you think you've done it all, then there's the Battle Tower to challenge. Definitely a +100 hour game if you want to do everything.
Difficulty is higher than some Pokemon games, but difficulty in Pokemon generally follows a pattern: Have no trouble throughout the entire game, then get to the Elite Four and realize they're stronger than you thought!
Overall, a very fun game. I recommend it for any Pokemon fan, but you'd be better off having the actual cartridge, as the ROM has been known to have trouble saving, and with the cartridge, you can transfer to DS games.

Pokemon Fire Red Review   starwars293
Hello people,it's starwars293 here with another review. This time,I am reviewing Pokémon Fire Red for the Game Boy Advance. This game is a really good game.If you have played the original version of Pokémon Fire Red,Pokémon Red for the Game Boy,than you will love this game too.The gameplay is still the same from Pokémon Red but with better graphics and it has colors for this game.In Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, you only had grey, but now you have color for this game. They even added a new thing. In Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, you could only walk and the fastest way to go is that you have to use the bike.Well now you can run in this game. You get the running shoes after you beat the first gym leader of the game,Brock of the Pewter City Gym.ItSe also the same as Pokémon Leaf Green, but the only thing different are which Pokémon are in each game. Some of the Pokémon can be in both Fire Red and Leaf Green. Now in both of those games, you get to pick your gender. If you're a boy, then you pick to play as a boy.If you're a girl, then you pick to play as a girl.If you notice something in the game, the Pokémon level when you're in a trainer battle/Gym Leader Battle/Elite four battle, the levels dropped a bit, making the game a bit easier. You will find some of the Pokémon you love from the original game, like Machop,Pikachu and the three Kanto starters,Charmander,Squirtle and Bulbasaur. You can catch Legendary Pokémon in the game like Mewtwo,Moltres and Zapdos. You can catch other Legendary Pokémon like Deoxys.I think you can catch Deoxys in the game.If you do know if you catch Deoxys in the game, post it so that way I know.I've played the actual cartage, but I don't have the game.A friend said I could play the game.Pokemon Fire Red is a really good game.On to the review now.
Graphics-The graphics are great. In the original game, there was no color but grey, but now they have colors for the game.Other than that, the graphics are good.
Gameplay-The gameplay is still the same from Pokémon Red.Whatever,it's still a good game that has good gameplay.
Story-The story is still the same from the other Pokémon games. You are a trainer, catching every Pokémon, disbanding Team Rocket and being the best trainer in the Kanto region.
Difficulty-The game isn't that hard until you rematch the Elite Four. The Elite Four's Pokémon grow up 10-12 levels. When you first fight the Elite Four, their Pokemon's level were from 50-60,when you rematch them, the Pokemon's levels are 60-70.Make sure you train your Pokémon good to fight the Elite Four and get a lot of healing items to revive and heal your Pokémon.
Depth-It does offer good Pokémon like Growlithe.
Addictivness-I would want to play this game again. You really want to catch all the Pokémon in the game and get other Pokémon from the other Pokémon games on the Game Boy Advance.
Overall-This is one of the really good Pokémon Games I would play on the Game Boy Advance.
Wrap Things Up-Pokémon Fire Red on the Game Boy Advance is a really good game.I would want to guys to play this game and have some fun playing this game.I hope you enjoy this game.
Thanks

Pokemon FireRed review   Divine Aurora
"Ahh a perfect remake that just might out do the classic". Pokémon FireRed is an well thought out all authentic classic remake of Pokémon Red, the first Pokémon game ever to be released in the United States. Pokémon Firered stayed true all the original Red Version layout/landscape and gym leader/elite 4 wise, But it does have all  new features  not seen in the original Red Version like islands 1,2,and 3, and how you would go about unlocking mewtwo's cave, and the a(n) all new feature to the franchise it's self, ultimate Pokémon starter type moves(for water starter:hydro cannon, fire starter: blast burn, and grass starter: frenzy plant).
Graphics: 10
"What can be expected out of the graphics portrayed in Pokémon Pokemon Firered What has changed with the graphics since Pokemon Red?",Well let's do a recap of Pokemon Red's graphics so that way one can better compare them to Pokemon Firered. In Pokemon Red,The graphics portrayed in Pokemon Red version are rather basic and only moderately detailed. There is no background scenery during Pokmon battle scene's.Pokemon sprites are very detailed when facing them in a battle but when your the trainer who is battling then the pixels on the Pokemon is a little distorted. The color quality is at the bare minimum standard, the towns in the game are different colors but what ever color the town is, everything in that town is that color, buildings and your character, bodies of water, literally everything.
Now what has changed you ask?, well the graphics portrayed in Pokemon Firered are a display of beautiful animation. The waves out on the water move, you can see your reflection in small puddles ocean's. The colorization is the most realistic to date, meaning it feels almost real. The Pokémon look almost exactly like how they appear in the pokedex during battle, but with better resolution(pixel wise) and a lot better graphic design and color is evenly distributed through out. The graphics and color on the buildings and in towns have only gotten better and more unique and descriptive. There are no game freezes or crashes nor are the any deformities in the Pokémon spirits. There are two types of grass in the game, tall dark green grass which have stronger leveled Pokémon than normal in them and shorter light greener grass which has generally weaker leveled Pokémon in them, the pixel quality is so clear you can easily tell the difference between the to without even paying to much attention to it.
Sound: 9
"What's the sound quality like in Pokemon Firered?"  well Pokemon Firered's soundtrack is the same as Red version, but the music does repeat constantly in battle which can get really annoying. The games sound quality its self is fine acoustics and pitch wise with no irregularity's such as sound distortions(unless you are using speed bar), scratches/repetitive beat repeat, or unsuspected stops and pick ups in sound when playing/listening to  the games music. The  pokemon cries are clean cut and what they are suppose to be. Mostly everything in the game has a distinct sound, like for example when you ride on the backs of Pokemon in water the soundtrack changes to a sort of soothing aquatic sound and when you go into caves the soundtrack goes into a deeper some what depressing spooky sound.
Addictiveness: 7
"Just how addicting is Pokemon Firered to play, what will be experienced in the game?",This game is highly addictive because it takes you back to when you were a kid(for you old school Pokémon players) and allows you to play the events in the original Red version to the T, just with newer, more up to date graphics, and sound quality(Pokémon cries wise). It has a lot of reply value , because it's  in my opinion how a remake of an old school game should be, enjoyable to older players as well as new comers to the franchise. I spent many hours training and basically playing through this game leaving no trainer left battled. The game offers the original Pokemon Red's feel but manages to portray the game in a newer more up to date style  graphics with a few significant changes.
Story: 6
"What's the story like in Pokemon Firered?",You are a young 12 year old trainer just starting off on your journey. You awaken in a little town called Pallet town and you get your starting Pokemon from Professor Oak after you blindly walk into a field of grass without a Pokemon. After you head into the next town and get the parcel for the Professor he gives you your Pokedex and you set of on your journey to become a Pokemon master. You will face many challenges on your journey and meet many legendary Pokemon. Your mission and main purpose is to evolve and raise your Pokemon so that way you can take on gym leaders as well as the incredible group of trainers know as the Elite four, while working towards that goal there is a sinister evil organization in the works of Kanto(the region in the game where you are at) that are hell bent on capturing and enslaving Pokemon and using them for evil purposes and it's up to you to defeat the head of this organization. That evil organization known as Team Rocket, there goal is to steal Pokemon and take over all of Kanto.Along your journey you will find there are a ton of legendary Pokemon, like Mewtwo (which his cave is accessible as soon as you beat the elite 4 and have completed the pokedex, unlike in Pokemon Red), the three legendary birds can also be caught in this, Articuno, and Zaptoes are at the same area's they would be found in Pokemon Red, but Moltres can be found on island two at mt. Ember instead of where it is found in Red version in Victory road. Also on a side note the game is slightly bigger than Red version, they added 3 islands on to the map,  island one, two and three and Mt. Ember.
Depth: 6
"What's the depth of Pokemon Firered, what does the game offer?"The game offers Pokémon fanatics especially older fans of the franchise to relive a childhood classic Pokemon game in all new full colorization and completely remastered and restored graphics.
Pokemon Firered Version has a moderate amount of activities to do in game, like playing slots for coins in the game corner, or going to the safari zone and capturing Pokemon you wouldn't find in to many other areas in the game(Pokemon like dratini) or fishing in basically any bodies of water, both large and small. The game is at a standard level map proportion wise, there are 10 towns and 1 mountain (Mt. Ember)and 3 islands(island 1,2, and 3).
Difficulty: 5
The games not very difficult at all.The A.I. Is fairly easy to beat if you have the type advantage, you don't really need any Pokémon over level 55 to beat the elite 4(that only applies if your using a well balanced team). The difficulty hasn't changed much from previous installments in the franchise but Pokemon Firered is more difficult than classic Pokemon Red.
Overall: 9.5
This game is probably one of the most favorable remakes for the Pokémon franchise. All it's graphics and sound are based of the original, just updated to a higher more modern quality. Story wise Gamefreak did a very great job keeping it original, only with a slightly larger map. This game is a game I feel as though classic fans of the franchise will enjoy because it is a childhood favorite remastered in better quality graphics & sound wise but still sticks to the classics story.

Fire red review   yazwand
Alright pokemon fire red.Got to be one of the most classic remakes. The gae basically takes place in the kanto region and strive to be a pokemon master.Thats basically every pokemon games theme and goal of the game.Pokemon Fr and Lg are famous remakes of the original pokemon Red and blue.So here is my rating of the game.
GRAPHICS:The graphics are much much improved since red and blue and deserve a pat on the back. The cities town everything was done nicely and of course the SPRITES.Oh gosh in res and blue the sprites were not that much to look at.But they did a good efort since it was the 90's.I still remember sprites like charmeleon, charizard, pidgey. They all looked very funny and to me they all looked kind of lifelike.Like pidgey looking like a pidgeon.Charmeleon looking like a real life lizard. And charizard looking like an even bigger lizard combined with a dragon.Lets just say the graphics deserve an 8 from me.
SOUND:The sound was enjoyable i especially liked the music against the final battle against your rival as that was very well done. Also the team rocket theme music was always my personal favourites too. Most of the sound in the game was enjoyable and nice there was not really a problem with sound for me with this game deserves a 9.
ADDICTIVNES:I constantly found myself going back to this game it was very enjoyable game and i always liked going back to the game just to beat up all the rockets and hear the sound.I don't really get addicted with pokemon games but this is a definite exception.Deserves a 10
STORY: The story was the same in red and blue except there are a lot of story enhancements such as the sevii islands. In red and blue you meet bill and you don't have anything else to do with him in the rest of the game. But in fr and lg you go to the sevii islands. These islands are just meant for after the elite four. You will have something to do at the sevii islands after the elite four.Think of it as another storyline.Anyways the story in fr and lg was very fun and very original you go around towns and cities beat gym leaders for their badges, beat up trainers for their money and, beat up some sort of evil team that tries to take over the world. It is the basic storyline for fr and lg.And, no matter how many times i play the same storyline and concept i can never get enough of it.Thats the gist of pokemon storylines and concepts. The story deserves a 9.
DEPTH:THe depth of pokemon fr and lg is preety big about 20 to 30 hours of gameplay. With a ton of pokemon to catch the sevii islands the national dex multiplayer battles in the battle tower oh yeah you'll be busy with this game for a couple of weeks.Deserves a Whopping 10.
DIFFICULTY:The difficulty of thisame was a little hard considering the huge level boost from gym leaders. For example brocks pokemon level 12 to 14 and then by misty you get levels around the 20 area. It's kinda hard at the beginning to raise your pokemon and find enough trainers for experience. The elite four was kinda harsh especially agatha she was a deadly person her ghost times are just so annoying and difficult to handle with.Otherwise the game was average and not that difficult for the rest of the game. The rockets were really easy and giovanni was also a cakewalk too.So for difficulty i had to rate it a 5.
Overall game mark:If red and blue were great games then fr and lg were great remakes if isay so myself and i am also sure that others agree with me about the game and it 's classical and wonderful properties so for overall they could have added something else as it felt this game was something and they could have decreased the levels of some trainers for difficulty but these are all minor errors in this game that should be ignored and to concludethis review this game deserves A WHOPPING MARK OF 9.5 out of 10.

NOJ94s REVIEW   noj94
A few years ago I lost my beloved Emerald Version to a jerk (sad violin music playing in the background). My brother grew sick of his Firered and decided to give it to me since I lost my Emerald (thanks Alex!). This is a cut and paste review for Firered and Leafgreen because the games are almost completely the same.
Story/ Goal: The goal of the game is to basically go on an adventure working your way to being the best is the extremely shorted idea of the game.
Now for those who have absolutely no clue what pokemon is this is what it is; A young boy decides to go on an adventure and dreams to be the Pokemon Master but on the way he has to confront obstacles and an evil crime organization named Team Rocket.
Pokemon are magical creatures that people catch (using pokeballs) and use in battle. Each Pokemon has their own strengths and weaknesses based on the type they are, it's almost like a game of rock, paper, scissors. The most common and most obvious example is the water, fire, grass combination, water douses fire, fire burns up grass, and grass drains water. To strengthen your pokemon you need to battle and battle and battle, there is no other way to get them stronger (besides one or two exceptions if you are a technical nerd.)
You start off your adventure at the famous scientist&'s lab named, Professor Oak in which he will allow you to choose one of three pokemon. When you set out you have two goals: Get all the badges so you can fight the Elite Four and become the champion, and the second goal is to catch all of the pokemon.
To reach the top you need to find and capture pokemon, once you've done that and have strengthened them to where they can challenge the Gym Leaders you go fight the Leaders. You require all eight of the Gym badges but once you have them all you are given permission to challenge the Elite Four. Battling is strategy based and doesn't require any reaction time so no need to worry about that. When you enter a battle you are given four choices: run away; which you can't do at trainer battles and some other occasions, items; which range from healing your pokemon to catching the wild pokemon (not trainer pokemon), party; which allows you to see all of your pokemons'; stats, health, moves, and more, and obviously battle; where you have a choice of four moves to make your pokemon weaker and/or give you a
higher advantage.
One of the biggest things that makes this game addicting for many is the concept commonly know as &'Gotta catch em all!'. It's addicting because other than having to find pokemon you also have to do two other things to get them all; first you need to evolve, second you need to trade. Evolving is when a pokemon has become strong enough it will transform into a stronger form of the original. Also, you need to trade. The way the game and it's counterpart, Leafgreen, are set up you need to have both games or you need to find someone
with the opposite game. One game has some pokemon the other doesn't and vice-verse.
Also for those who have played the originals, there is an addition to the original story that you will find at the end of the game.
Graphics:
Though it is obviously improved from older games it's not quite what I would like in a new game, especially when the slightly older games Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald have a slightly better graphics. Where there is dust storms and puddle reflections in these game there are none in Firered and Leafgreen. However I did notice that (at least for me) the writing in these games are slightly easier to read and aren't so sharp and tall.
Sound:
You can now hear the classic pokemon music in an updated version. It would be nice if I could have a little radio of other games music from the past. Pokemon cries are still using the same style as the original games and, frankly, is not what I want.
Addictiveness:
The Pokemon games are probably the most addicting videogames in the world because of it's one of a kind play type and idea and for it's sometimes frustrating addicting need to catch all of the pokemon. This will keep you playing for a very time.

Just amazing   DeathlyCare
POKÉMON seems to continue going strong no matter how many games, television incarnations or movies are released. After the release of POKÉMON RUBY and SAPPHIRE, I honestly believed that the craze had finally died down. It had been four years and, a few new Pokémon aside, the series hadn't changed that much. Maybe the reason for my thinking was because I hadn't played the new games that much, unwilling to admit that the series was just as addictive as ever.
I can honestly say I enjoyed POKÉMON when the first game out. It was addictive and new, something that wasn't often found on the Game Boy. A few releases later, the only differences were a few hundred new Pokémon and the ability to battle with two Pokémon at a time. SILVER and GOLD were good, CRYSTAL was a rehash of the previous ones, and RUBY and SAPPHIRE didn't interest me. But lo and behold, FIRERED has sucked me back into to an ever addictive game.
While they are remakes of the first games, POKÉMON FIRERED and LEAFGREEN upgrade POKÉMON RED and BLUE games by adding new features, better graphics and new Pokémon found only in the newest versions of the game. As all of the games begin, you start off as a young kid leaving your house to go on a journey to become the greatest Pokémon master ever. Unlike in the original games, you now have a choice to be a boy or a girl (in the first release, all gamers were stuck with the male character). Along the way, you'll run into hundreds of Pokémon species to catch, the terrorist organization Team Rocket and numerous rival trainers. Getting to the end of the story takes about 20 hours, but you won't be anywhere near the end of the game as you'll likely only have caught a fraction of the Pokémon in the game. Of course, maintaining the "gotta catch 'em all" mentality, neither version contains all of the Pokémon, so you'll have to trade with a friend who has the other version to complete the game.
FIRERED and LEAFGREEN play just like the originals, and every game in the series: you'll run around in a vast world, battling trainers and catching more and more Pokémon that you can raise to fight for you. When going into a battle, the game switches to a turn-based battle mode that seems very simple, but can be somewhat complex. If you can imagine an advanced form of rock-paper-scissors you can understand how these games work. There are numerous types of Pokémon found within the game, each containing strengths and weaknesses (water Pokémon are weak against electric Pokémon, but water Pokémon are strong against fire Pokémon). The reason this can make the game difficult is because, during the game, you'll run into Pokémon you've never seen before. Figuring out how to battle it may take a few moments, and if you have the wrong type battling for you at that moment, it could result in some trouble for you and your Pokémon. Not to worry though, as you can carry up to six Pokémon on your character at a time, each gaining more and more experience until they evolve, gaining more strength and learning new moves.

Pokemon firered   sokerioby
i got this game when i was 8 and when i played it i remembered everything. i felt the nostalgia immediately.
8 graphics
I don't care for the graphics in a game that much, but man, for a gba game this game's graphics are amazing!
it was a big stepup from ruby and sapphire. the graphics look beautiful. it's colorful and you never feel bored in any place.
9 sound
the original red and blue had classic music but this game remastered every single sound and made it even better!
it's not the best soundtrack in the Pokemon gba games and definitely not the best in the series.
but it is really special.
some of my favourite tracks are : trainer battle theme, cerulean city and of course the epic champion battle theme.
10 addictiveness
it's Pokemon. Nuff said
5 story
the characters are uninteresting and the plot is too simple.
7 difficulty
this is the second hardest main pokemon game ever if you play through the main story.
like, the 8th gym leaders strongest pokemon, is just has just as high level as the champions strongest Pokemon in g/s/c/hg/ss!
holy s***!!!
9 overall
this game is fantastic and the best remake on the gba.
certainly much better than SONIC GENESIS GBA!!!!!!! I HATE THAT GAME SO MUCH!!!!!
this was a big stepup to the original games.
it deserves a 9/10 from me.
thanks for reading my review for all of you who did.

My Thoughts?   Spacey Sul
My Thoughts On Fire Red?
Well, I believe it's a pretty darn good game. Sometimes it makes you want to throw your laptop at the wall and scream 'SCREW YOU POKEMON!'(I admit to doing this when trying to catch Electabuzz.) But mostly, you try to beat it and have as much fun as you can!
Graphics, well, I think they are pretty good. Like many others who think this, I wish it had animation graphics in the battles. I mean, c'mon, you have to admit that seeing some of the moves used while the Pokémon perform them instead of just standing still would be pretty awesome. And I just want to throw this out there, we should be able to design our own trainers. Now that, would be fun! So graphics, you earn a eight!
Sound eh? Well, in all honesty the sounds are pretty good. The music can get repetitive but I can live, because the music is pretty darn catchy! It would be nice to be able to mute the music on the game while you listen to some other music though, and if the Pokémon could say their names! That would help if you don't know how to pronounce some and don't want to look up how to pronounce them. So sound earns itself a nine!
Depth, depth, depth... Well, if you ask me, it has a nice depth, better then I first thought it would have. If your like me and see messages about everyday life in some games, you could find a few on this one, for sure! It would be nicer to have side missions that can keep you playing for a few extra hours though, and if we knew more about the character!(I am a stickler when it comes to knowing the character. And c'mon, we all want to play a Pokémon game a little longer don't we?) So, I rate this one a nine.
Ah Addictiveness, a thing I am very familiar with.(And I know fellow Pokémon fans are familiar with it, don't lie.) I rate a ten on this because of the simple fact it got me hooked. I love Charmander and its evolution's and always will. I also am a sucker for the weird little animals - And annoying technology ones too- and the battles just keep me wanting to play more and more until I drop from exhaustion!( Hasn't happen yet, but I have a feeling it will...) Plus, I get easily addicted to anything that cures my ever-lasting boredom.(I am surprised I don't have ADHD, and so are many others!)
Difficulty, oh difficulty... I rate it a seven because sometimes, it can frustrate you to no end and you can get lost easily if you don't pay attention.(Sadly, I have the don't pay attention thing going on.) Puzzles that are confusing and tricky, like Lt. Surge and Seafoam Islands. It's easy mostly, just catch Pokémon, fight gym leaders and trainers who challenge you, the basic gist of Pokémon we know and love(And sometimes hate).
And finally, we reach Story! I give story a six because, well... They could make it better, don't you agree? For example, they could give you more information about the character and his life, maybe include some friends of his that he bumps into and fights for fun, and the friends could give you more information about your character and his past. Although-I have to admit- it is sort-of fun to make up your own story for your character. Also, I believe they could add more onto the story. It gets tedious just doing: Catch Pokémon, fight, fight, sell stuff, find something... So on and so forth.
Well, this is my review on Pokemon Fire Red! I hope to see all of you on the journey to becoming a Pokémon Master!
SadSecrets- Signing out!

Pokemon FireRed Review(may contain spoilers)   Silent Sentinel
Looking to get into the Pokémon franchise, and or looking for a Pokémon game as a introduction to the franchise or a Pokémon game to try for the first time? Well look no further, Pokémon FireRed is the perfect game to introduce gamers into the Pokémon franchise. Pokémon FireRed is a official remake of Pokémon Red licensed by Nintendo(made by GameFreak). Now without further a due, please enjoy my review of Pokémon FireRed.(Warning May contain spoilers)
As most Pokémon fans know the graphics of the original Pokémon Red version weren't the best, the graphics seen in Pokémon Red seemed hand drawn in my opinion, while the graphics in Pokémon Fire Red are clearly computer generated. So to further explain the difference between the two  let's do a recap of Pokémon Red's graphics so that way one can better compare them to Pokémon Firered. In Pokémon Red,the graphics portrayed in Pokémon Red version are rather basic and only moderately detailed. There is no background scenery during Pokémon battle scene's.Pokemon sprites are very detailed when facing them in a battle but when your the trainer who is battling then the pixels on the Pokémon is a little distorted. The color quality is at the bare minimum standard, the towns in the game are different colors but what ever color the town is, everything in that town is that color, buildings and your character, bodies of water, literally everything. Now what has changed you ask?, well the graphics portrayed in Pokémon Firered are a display of beautiful animation.
Pokémon Firered's soundtrack is the same as Red version, but the music does repeat constantly in battle which can get really annoying. The games sound quality its self is fine acoustics and pitch wise with no irregularity's such as sound distortions(unless you are using speed bar), scratches/repetitive beat repeat, or unsuspected stops and pick ups in sound when playing/listening to  the games music. The  Pokémon cries are clean cut and what they are suppose to be. Mostly everything in the game has a distinct sound, like for example when you ride on the backs of Pokémon in water the soundtrack changes to a sort of soothing aquatic sound and when you go into caves the soundtrack goes into a deeper some what depressing spooky sound.
Pokémon FireRed is highly addictive because it takes you back to when you were a kid(for you old school Pokémon players) and allows you to play the events in the original Red version to the T, just with newer, more up to date graphics, and sound quality(Pokémon cries wise). It has a lot of reply value , because it's  in my opinion how a remake of an old school game should be, enjoyable to older players as well as new comers to the franchise. I spent many hours training and basically playing through this game leaving no trainer left battled. The game offers the original Pokémon Red's feel but manages to portray the game in a newer more up to date style  graphics with a few significant changes.
FireRed stays true to the original story line portrayed in Pokémon Red version with the exception of a few new areas, but basically the goes you are a young 12 year old trainer just starting off on your journey. You awaken in a little town called Pallet town and you get your starting Pokémon from Professor Oak after you blindly walk into a field of grass without a Pokémon. After you head into the next town and get the parcel for the Professor he gives you your Pokedex and you set of on your journey to become a Pokémon master. You will face many challenges on your journey and meet many legendary Pokémon. Your mission and main purpose is to evolve and raise your Pokémon so that way you can take on gym leaders as well as the incredible group of trainers know as the Elite four, while working towards that goal there is a sinister evil organization in the works of Kanto(the region in the game where you are at) that are hell bent on capturing and enslaving Pokémon and using them for evil purposes and it's up to you to defeat the head of this organization. That evil organization known as Team Rocket, there goal is to steal Pokémon and take over all of Kanto.Along your journey you will find there are a ton of legendary Pokémon, like Mewtwo (which his cave is accessible as soon as you beat the elite 4 and have completed the pokedex, unlike in Pokémon Red), the three legendary birds can also be caught in this, Articuno, and Zaptoes are at the same area's they would be found in Pokémon Red, but Moltres can be found on island two at mt. Ember instead of where it is found in Red version in Victory road. Also on a side note the game is slightly bigger than Red version, they added 3 islands on to the map,  island one, two and three and Mt. Ember.
The game offers Pokémon fanatics especially older fans of the franchise to relive a childhood classic Pokémon game in all new full colorization and completely remastered and restored graphics.
Pokémon Firered Version has a moderate amount of activities to do in game, like playing slots for coins in the game corner, or going to the safari zone and capturing Pokémon you wouldn't find in to many other areas in the game(Pokémon like dratini) or fishing in basically any bodies of water, both large and small. The game is at a standard level map proportion wise, there are 10 towns and 1 mountain (Mt. Ember)and 3 islands(island 1,2, and 3).
Pokémon Firered isn't not very difficult at all.The A.I. Is fairly easy to beat if you have the type advantage, you don't really need any Pokémon over level 55 to beat the elite 4(that only applies if your using a well balanced team). The difficulty hasn't changed much from previous installments in the franchise but Pokémon Firered is more difficult than classic Pokémon Red. Like every Pokémon game the difficulty depends largely on what kind of Pokémon you choose to raise and rather if the types of Pokémon you use have the advantage over the types used by other trainers, gym leaders etc.

Cheers for FireRed!   DanielFantasyVI
Welcome to this review made by DanielFantasyVI! This review will cover the whole game itself and its aspects. I am fairly strict when it comes to giving scores to games. Usually, If I give a 6 or 7 to the game, that means that the game is good. If you have seen my review in Pokemon Emerald and compared it with this one, you'll notice that my scores given to this game are fairly higher compared to that game. Why I have given scores like that will be thoroughly explained in each section that I will make. Before I forget, much of the review comments are opinionated so please, do not comment anything harsh because all of us have different opinion regards the game. So, here is the review.

Graphics-8
Well, compared to the other games in the same generation (Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire), this game has better graphics (for me). Why? Well, it has striking colors (especially that all of the towns or cities there are related to colors). That is pretty much it. For anyone asking why I have given an 8 only is because I have seen many games that has better graphics and virtuosity but this does not mean that this game has bad graphics (Don't take things seriously :) ). In fact, the graphics of this game is quite good so it is not really much of a big deal. :) A little more refine to the graphics then it will become WAY better.

Sound-7
There's nothing much that I can put in this section. All I can say is I like the sound because it is some sort of refreshing. The sounds of the music is well-composed and there is nothing faulty about Pokemon cries. That is pretty much it.

Addictiveness-7
When it comes to game addictiveness, this game is worthy to be played at by the same player twice or thrice. I mean it is addicting but it is not worthy to be played at a lot of times. Well, this game is addicting because comared to Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, this game is fairly longer, along with LeafGreen. But, it is not utterly longer but oh well. At least you can have longer fun with this game. :)

Story-5
And this is where I get to become very strict, the story. What this game needs is a bit of action and destruction. This is the one fair thing that I am looking at RPGs. I mean there is an antagonist, yes but they lack evilness. I want that one thing that could REALLY change the world, change people's lives forever and it is up to you to at least restore everything back. So, (No offense) that is why I have given a low 5 in its storyline. Oh by the way, correct me if I'm wrong because it has been a while that I have last played the game but this is what I pretty much remember.

Depth-8
Yet again, compared to the other games in the 3rd Generation, it has a longer story and (I think) more Pokemon because of the addition of one island, two island, three island and etc. Well, better a bit longer than nothing :) . If only this game was a bit longer, then it could have been one of the best for me. Well, I guess that is pretty much it.

Difficulty-5
When it comes to controls, there is no problem because controls in the GBA are reasonably easy (well, for me because I have been using it for a long time) but for the game, I'd say it is mediocre. I can beat the game for like 2 days or 3 days at most. I would have given a lower grade if it wasn't for the islands. Pokemon with higher levels kinda made the score of difficulty higher.

OVERALL-8.3
Overall, this is a good game, I'd say. It has *almost* everything that I expected from a Pokemon game. Here are a few comments to summarize my whole review:

1.) Add a little more refine to the graphics
2.) Add destruction
3.) Make the game a little bit longer (Wish come true)
4.) A bit more of level gaps between Pokemon

This is the end of my review, if there are any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment or send a private message to me (DanielFantasyVI).

pokemon fire red review by rose 4   meme the rose4
Hello,
My 2nd review about the amazing game Pokémon Fire Red!
Enjoy reading this review.
Graphics 9/10:
When you start the game you're in your room, the look of the room is good and clearly.
Pokémon Fire Red is different than Pokémon Red, now into this game are colours which are looking beautiful. Also the design of the characters is looking cool.
You travel and you'll see in your adventure: water, routes, a forest and more. All is looking amazing, I really love to see this.
So they really work hard on the graphics and that made the game much better.
Sound 8/10 :
I think that the sound is awesome but like my first review, I wish that we can stop it if we want. I don't want to listen the sound the whole time that's why.
The sound is different form a town to route to a battle and I like that + it's not so loud.
Addictiveness 8/10:
Well Pokémon Fire Red is special for me because that it's into the Kanto region and that reminds me to Ash's journeys in Kanto.
I'll play this game over and over again with my friends and I hope that more people are starting to play this game because it's really much fun.
Story 9/10 :
The story is the same as Red/Green/Blue/Yellow but still when you play this game, it's look like that this game is a completly new game because the colours are different and more.
The rival is evil or mean and you can choose to be a boy or a girl. In the older games this isn't so and because I'm a girl, I really like to play also as a girl.
You must travel around the region and getting all the badges which is 8 in total.
This is looking like Ash's Story.
Depth 7/10 :
Well it depend on what Pokémon you train etc. If you train more Pokémon then you have more to do.
You need to beat the Elite Four and the Champion. So in my opinion this game is long enough.
Difficulty 7/10:
This isn't a really hard game but sometimes I was lost in places like a cave.
If you have strong Pokémon, this game wouldn't be that hard to beat.
I also wish everyone good luck for beating this game.
Overall rating: 9.8!
PS : I'm sorry if this review is really short or bad.
pss : I've got some help from TornadoMudkip with my grammar.

Pokemon Firered   marcus047
Game history/Game background-Well this is Gamefreak's 5th Pokémon title to come out for the Game Boy Advanced system/handheld device. And it's Gamefreak's 12th title in the franchise all together for Japan(for American its the 11 title in the whole franchise).
Graphics- Graphics scored a perfect 10 out of 10, because for one thing they are clear and just about as realistic as it gets. The color scheme/colorization for the details in the game are at there peak. The games graphics are what you'd expect from a Game Boy Advanced game. Also other reason why the graphics got rated so high is because mostly all Pokémon hacks on Vizzed(graphics wise) is based off of this game.
Sound- For sound, Gamefreak kept the sound in this game the  exact  same as the sound heard in original Red Version. So for sound, if you liked what you've heard in Red Version you will enjoy what you hear in this remake(FireRed). In my opinion  Gamefreak should have came out with a new sound track for this remake, but either way the sound quality is what you would expect from a Game Boy Advanced game, so for sound I gave the game a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness-This game is highly addictive because it takes you back to when you were a kid(for you old school Pokémon players) and allows you to play the events in the original Red version to the T, just with newer, more up to date graphics, and sound quality(Pokémon cries wise). It has a lot of reply value , because it's  in my opinion how a remake of an old school game should be, enjoyable to older players as well as new comers to the franchise. I spent many hours training and basically playing through this game leaving no trainer left battled, so for addictiveness  I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Story- Well the story is exactly the same as original Red Version, the only difference  is a(n) new event is the side story of Islands 1,2, and 3, located east of  cinnabar island. So because of this the game does well in the department of being a good classic remake, but poorly in the department of offering a good interesting story twist on a classic game remake. So for story, I gave the game a 7 out of 10.
Depth- The game offers Pokémon fanatics the chance to play through one of the first two Pokémon game ever made, in  full quality color and way better facial graphics and design on the people and buildings  as well as Pokémon, with better  landscape details as well. The game's a little bit longer then the original because of the island 1,2,3 add on to it. After you beat the elite 4 if you didn't all ready catch the legendary birds, you can do that. But you can't enter mewtwo's cave without the national pokedex which in my opinion Gamefreak should have kept that like it was in the original Red, where you could enter mewtwo's cave right after you beat the elite 4. Well the game take's a fair amount of time to beat, with out using the speed button I estimate a time about in the range of 4-5 day's(if you take your time). So for depth I gave this game a 8 out of 10.
Difficulty- The games not very difficult at all.The A.I. Is fairly easy to beat if you have the type advantage, you don't really need any Pokémon over level 50 to beat the elite 4(that only applies if your using a well balanced team). The difficulty hasn't changed much quite frankly at all from original Red Version, so for difficulty I gave this game a 7 out of 10.
Overall- This game is probably one of the most favorable remakes for the Pokémon franchise. All it's graphics and sound are based of the original, just updated to a higher more modern quality. Story wise Gamefreak did a very great job keeping it original, so overall I gave this incredible classic game (what you should expect for a remake) a 9.5 out of 10.

I Thought Fire Was Orange   Lexatom
Yes, I know this game is overdone, but it's the 20th aniverssary of the series, give me a break.
Pokemon FireRed is one of the most well known Pokemon games out there, and for good reason. It was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, approximately 6 years after the US release of Pokemon Red and Blue for the Game Boy. Pokemon FireRed is not just a complete copy/paste of Pokemon Red/Blue/Green. Instead, it is a complete remake that upgrades everything in the game, from graphics to mechanics. In this review, you will see why this game, along with Pokemon LeafGreen, is regarded as one of the best in the series. Let's get started.
Graphics - 9
The graphics are heavily updated compared to the originals. And when I say heavily, I mean it. No longer does Golbat look like this:
[img]http://www.serebii.net/Pkmn_Red/042.gif[/img]
Instead, Golbat now looks like this:
[img]http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/golbat-f.png[/img]
Much better and less terrifying, in my opinion.
Sound - 9
One of my favorite things about Pokemon remakes is the updated soundtrack they get. The rhythm of each song that was in the originals is the same, but the soundfont they are used in gets upgraded. In the originals, you heard 8-bit tunes due to the limits of the Game Boy. But now that these games are on a more advanced system, you now hear the music with multiple instruments instead of just listening to 8-bit melodies the whole time.
Addictiveness - 9
Like with most of the other games in the series, these games can get highly addicting, due to the amount of things to do in them. There's not much I can really say about this subject, other than that you may or may not end up playing these games for hours on end.
Story - 7
I'm going to be honest here. The story doesn't really do much for me. It's not because it's almost the same exact story that was in the originals, I'm fine with that. It's just that it really doesn't do much for me, I find Team Rocket kind of bland and boring, just like in the originals. All they do is steal Pokemon, besides the part with Lavender Town in the Pokemon Tower. It just doesn't "wow" me like some of the stories in the other games in the series usually do.
Depth - 10
I briefly described the depth of these games in the addictiveness section of this review. Since there's so much to do in these games, you'll be playing them for a while. Like most of the other games in the series, you can try to catch them all, or even try out the new post-game that they added. This post-game wasn't in the originals due to hardware limitations. In the post-game, you can travel to the Sevii Islands, which have multiple things to do there, including catch Pokemon from other regions. There are about 8 islands in total, I think, so there's plenty to do after you defeat the champion.
Difficulty - 7
The difficulty of these games really depend on the team you have and if you have honed it enough. For me, the game wasn't too hard. I only had trouble with Victory Road and the Pokemon League, although it wasn't too big of a bother. With the variety of Pokemon there is to catch, many people can make many different teams to their liking, and the difficulty depends on how much they trained their team.
Overall - 9.3
Although I did give these games some mid-low scores, I set them aside, since the games in the Pokemon series are so unique that you can't really expect a good score to come out of something that's up to the player, such as difficulty. I also apologize for the mediocre review this time, I just wanted to get another review out there since I have the time. I promise you all a better review next time. Thanks for reading!

hmmm   poopadooper
Well I'm back *cricket noises* um okay well lets get going on this one I love reviewing Pokémon games.
Overall :9.5. Easily one of the best Pokémon game out there (that aren't hacks) It has great music, graphics, story is par, It's very addicting, depth is large and interesting but the difficulty was way too easy.
Graphics: 10!   If you wanted to see great graphics on the game boy.... This was the game. The Pokémon look great as do the trainers. The items look great and the item picture was a new feature for the franchise and it worked. The colors are crisp and clean. As for the trainers just normal trainers look great but where the most time seemed to be spent are major/ storyline characters such as: Brock, Lt. Surge (for people who remember the anime.... GIVE IT A DUNDERBOLT) and the elite four.
Sound: 10 As I said New system for an already aging franchise that was known for it's good music (except you know original lavender town music *shivers and rocks back and forth*)  this game was no exception most of the music was an improved version of the music of Yellow and Red/Blue.  Yeah the battle music got repetitive but it was tolerable. Either the music for the sevii islands or vermilion city is my favourite tune.
addictiveness: 10   I gave this a 10 because I've played this game over and over at least 7 times. It's that addictive. Not only is it Pokémon but how many Pokémon that are on each route gives you a chance to play it many times with different teams for a different experience  (I have ADHD and this game keeps me focused on it easily)
Story:8 Probably its weakest point. Yeah I understand it's a rehash of the original but they would've changed it up just a bit and I would of rated it a bit higher but it's a fun story nevertheless. You are a 10 year old boy that your irresponsible mom let go off into a world full of: monsters, organised crime. And pervs (guy in celadon city I'm looking at you).  To become a monster tamer and make them fight until one gets hurt enough to pass out. Yeah great parenting. After you beat the elite four and the champion you get greeted with something new The sevii islands.
Depth:10   The switch from GB to GBA allowed for more memory allowing the games to be larger and more Pokémon. This makes Fire Red/ Leaf Green to have significantly more depth than the original games (not really more than gold silver and crystal due to the fact they have kanto and johto) The addition of the sevii island gave you something to do after beating the elite four (I mention them a lot) other than catching all the Pokémon. The main reason I gave it a 10 is on my fire red save file the time read is 211:32.... That's a lot of time to be catching them all!
Difficulty: 1       This is were this game makes me mad... It babysits you for the first 20 minutes of playing (the Japanese think Americans are morons......... kind of justified. Especially where I live) But when they let you go off on your own. This game is easy but you can make it more challenging by excluding a type or using a nuzlocke.
Conclusion: This game is great.. Perfect for people new to the game or looking for a casual but long game. Have a great day and enjoy!

Pokemon Fire Red review   Batcake
Pokémon Fire Red was made in 2004 and was an remake of Pokémon Red. This game is quite similar to Pokémon Leaf Green and better than the original. Copyright: 2004 by Nintendo. This game is an Game Boy Advance game and can not be used for the Black and white and the Game Boy color. The outside of the game is red as in "fire red". This is for entertainment purposes only. This game did NOT have Wi-Fi.
Overall: This is a great game for me and a lot of other people who play this.
Graphics: The graphics were quite nice than the original Pokémon Red and Blue. So I rate it a 9 because of it's good improvement over graphics.
Sound: The sound was a lot better than the first generation and still, the lavender town music was fixed because people got major sickness
due to the high pitch sounds. The sound was great so I rate it an 8.
Addictiveness: The game wasn't that addictive to me because there is a lot of better and improved games that are new so this game is not really popular currently. Maybe addictive to some people who play this.
Story: Ash was ten and started his journey to be a Pokémon champion. But will he defeat his rival, Gary? Find out in this game!  It is a quite good story for the Pokémon series. But, they did put some effort in to it at least.
Depth: The game offers a lot like the other Pokémon games but never ends. Well, first you start your journey, Go around the region, beat gym leaders, earn badges, challenge the Elite four, Defeat the champion, Visit the seven islands, Challenge the Elite Four but it is stronger this time, Do trades, Wi-fi battling, and do mini games!, beat the game, and do a lot of bonus features in the game! This deserves a 10.
Difficulty: The difficulty was quite hard and a little easy.  It sounds hard above but, it is actually very easy to beat. But this game has a lot of effort in to it. If you play it often, it will be usually faster to beat.

Pokemon Fire Red-Great game with a great plot   Blue_Dust
Now unfortunately I didn't have the chance to try out Pokémon red on my old game system but I did play this on a PC.This is a very nice experience for players as it offers a nice deep world to roam around, different events and secrets can be found.Somehow every gamefreak Pokémon game feels right.
Graphics were amazing, truly magnificent,I'm not saying they were perfect but they were definitely keeping me going with the annoying zubats.[9]
Sound is an important part of this, without any of the sounds the battles would be boring.Altough that I still think they might bump in some environment sounds but even though they were good.[8]
Addictiveness is really something normal in the Pokémon games. It's clear that the game will get you addicted, new towns, items,Pokémon and such will keep you going and making you play more and more. How could I say that this is not addictive.[10]
Story has a very sup rising plot.I won't spoil it but I'll give ya a hint,it's at the end of the storyline in the game.Much like the Portal 2 plot this one takes an amazing plot itself. If there's something more unique about fire red,it's the plot.[10]
Depth should not even be a question. All of the Pokémon games offer a great world to explore.Every new HM helps you find more and more locations. The game doesn't stop after you beat it,it keeps going afterwords. This is just a big game with a big world, that's what I have to say.[10]
Difficulty was great. It's not too hard, not too easy.Something you must know if you're gonna play a Pokémon game,if it's hard for you than you don't play it in a proper way.The game is balanced,in order to be a winner you need lots of tough Pokémon and items. Not too hard, not too easy is what I say.[5]

Pokemon Fire Red Version Review   XxEzraxX
It has been a few days since I have made a review, mainly because I wasn't sure of what game I wanted to review. However, this game Pokémon Fire Red has been popping up in my mind to review several times, so I figured why not? Now overall I really enjoyed this game, it was a nice faster paced remake of the original Pokémon Red Version, with a little bit added for instance the Sevii Islands which where not in the original games and the addition of third Gen Pokémon which where not around when Red and Blue came out. There was one thing I had a problem with, and I don't know if anyone else really feels this way maybe for some it is really helpful, but the fact that the game helps you a LOT. Say you are in battle and you accidentally hit the L or R trigger button on your GBA (or your computer keyboard, whatever you are using) you will see this menu that explains everything about the battle system. This also happens when you are not in battle but wandering around the world. It got kind of annoying, especially since it is just a Pokémon game and you can simply figure everything out by just hitting the button.
Although the game suddenly started treating you like you were a completely new gamer, it was a fun game and I had a wonderful time playing it. That is why I rated the game a 9.5, it was fun and had more than Red Version did, but I still don't think it can compete with Red. If given the choice between Fire Red and Red Version, I would choose Red Version hands down. But for nowadays Pokémon fans, this game is great. It lets the newer Pokémon generation experience what we older fans had but with the graphics and speed that they are used too. This is why I rated the graphics and sound a 9, for me they didn't compare to the older Gameboy graphics or sound but it was a lot nicer to see more colorful and the sound had more tone and clarity to them then the older versions. And I think many people will enjoy looking at them and listening to the game.
As for the addictiveness, even though like I said I would rather play regular old Red Version I still gave this a 10 because it is really no different aside from graphics, sound and the extension that was added after defeating the Elite Four and your Rival for the first time. What really got me to stay playing this game once I reached the rest of the Sevii Islands, is something I think is a brilliant idea. You must look around the Sevii Islands for a Ruby Gem and a Shappire Gem and once you have found them and brought them to the first Pokémon center you see at the islands (One Island) then you can trade Pokémon with Ruby and Shappire versions (however, in Ruby and Shappire you must have defeated the Elite Four at least once). It helps fill the Pokedex twice as fast and it is kind of cool to see two completely different generations combine like that.
For the depth I rated the game a 7, it was longer and had more to offer than the original Red Version (as mentioned above). It was actually a really cool game, and it kind of took me a while to get through the Sevii Islands on my first run through. Another thing that I found interesting that was added to the game was the Eggs, now you can leave two Pokémon at the Daycare center and if you are lucky when you come back to pick them up, the Daycare man or woman will tell you that one of them had an egg and you can hatch it for a completely new Pokémon. Pretty convenient right?
Now for the difficulty, I rated this a 5. It really wasn't that hard especially if you have already played Red or Blue Version. The only part that was any challenging and to be completely honest it wasn't entirely that hard at all was the Sevii Islands. But I don't think that how hard a Pokémon game is should cloud anyone's judgement of the game, because they where meant for younger audiences.
I hope that you all enjoyed this review, and if you haven't already played this game I hope you consider it. It is a fun game, and a rather interesting remake of the originals. And for the newer fans who decide to play this, I hope that you consider trying the older versions just to see what we experienced when Pokémon Mania was in full swing. I had a wonderful time playing this game and writing this review and I hope to write another one very soon. Thank you for reading.

Is good game!   WTMS21MKE
Hello. I am here to review Pokémon Fire Red for the Game Boy Advance. This game has some neat graphics that really impress me. Charizard doesn't look like a donkey, the colors are vibrant, and, to top it all of, you have some of the most amazing trainer graphics in a Pokémon game! The music is mediocre, as it is for all GBA games. It has good music, but some of the cries are bit-crushed(!) a moderate amount, so they sound...weird. The Addictiveness is really high, whereas it is a game where there is a 1 to 50 chance to put it down, unless you need to sleep. You'll be determined to play this game till the very end where you encounter your rival in the final battle. I know I was. Then I put it down and never played it again, but that was because I was beaten up by the difficulty, but more on the difficulty later in this review. The story is a feat to be seen(No wonder there was Pokémon Origins!). Like the original, you must go and be the very best, like no one ever was! On the way, you destroy the evil Pokémon organization known as Team Rocket. You defeat their leader, Giovanni, and his cronies, like the basic grunt, the admins, and the Silph Co. Scientists. It's a very in-depth story. Speaking of "depth", it is a very extensive game with much to do and takes quite a time to beat! You have to beat the 8 Gym Leaders, the grunts, admins and scientists of Team Rocket, as well as Giovanni himself in a tense Gym Leader Battle, the Elite Four, and your Rival as the champion. Ooh, and those battles are very, berry amazing(By the way joke on how I'm a part-time inflationist on deviantART. )! I literally felt like I was ACTUALLY there! But, anyway...the difficulty is what really makes this game fun. Oh my goodness, the difficulty was what made me quit the game, because I was getting my butt handed to me. The later Gym Battles, especially the Gym Leaders, get progressively more difficult in a staggering way as you progress. Misty, the Cerulean City Gym Leader, has levels in the lower 20s, but Erika, the Celadon City Gym Leader, has Pokémon 8 levels higher than Misty's Pokémon! Jeez, talk about a difficulty spike, and that's just the middle of the game! My final rating is a 9 8/10, or a 10 - It could be the best GBA game in the library overall! It has some of the best Pokémon and Trainer sprites in the whole entirety of 2D Pokémon games, the sound could be improved, you'll probably never put this game down unless you needed to, so basically, an addictiveness level of most Pokémon games, the story is like an epic graphic book unraveling before your retinas, the depth is at a 9 on the Patent-Pending Depth-o-Meter, and it's hard as all get out. Amazing game.

Pokemon Fire Red Review   iSPY!
Hi this is iSPY! making his first review here in vizzed !. At first , I think that this site is only a gaming site where you can play pokemon , sonic , mario , zelda , and many more other games which you can play in many other different consoles too . But when i noticed the chat room section , the board , the forums , sub forums , threads , and posts , I knew that this was more than just a gaming site , this was a free community where you can share your ideas , share your feelings and even make good friend .. Now I am making this review so that i can help out vizzed retro game room to become a good , better and a safe site where kids , teens and even adults can play ..
The first time i played pokemon fire red was on my game boy advance , I  really own a physical copy of this game . But I really don't want to use it again because it was very easy .. I was like 9 or 10 year old when i played this game on my Game boy advance , but when i finished it I kept it in a safe and clean box .. And when my friend had his birthday I  decided to give hem my copy of pokemon fire red as a gift . He's reaction was like " WoW , really ? your giving me this ? " ..  I said that because i already finished and don't want to play this again , I am giving this to you as a gift for your birthday !! Then , of course  he said thank you to me ..! And at that time , I think that that was the last time i can play pokemon fire red .. But i was wrong , I think about after 4 years i stopped playing pokemon games , I kinda missed it . Then , i searched a free pokemon emulator online .. Then that was the time i found this site .. I think it's about time to post the game review now ..!
Like I said before , I already played this game along time ago so i already know the tricks how to finish it faster .. Whilst I am playing the game , the motto " gotta' catch em' all " still runs on my mind .. Then I started , I pick squirtle as my starter pokemon ( kinda different , because i usually pick fire type as my starter ) .. The I played the game normally as possible ..
Graphics .. Hmm , graphics was good on pokemon red , but they made it allot more better here in pokemon fire red .. Literally , a big percentage of pokemon players from the world don't really put much attention on the pokemon attack animations ( am i correct ? ) .. But compared to pokemon red , this is way more better ! Flowers are swaying now and the water crashes on the beaches ..
Sounds .. Music is kinda great , Boss battles and legendary battles have a very cool sound , the only problem here is their cries , I think they are just sound remixed with a very high toned voices saying they pokemon names like Pika !! Pika !! ..
Story .. I think all other pokemon stories are just the same , like your a ten year old kid ( Red ) who wants to save the world from evil gangs , teams , fraternities and other evil organizations like team rocket , team magma and team aqua ( team aqua and team magma are in pokemon emerald which is like from generation 3 ) .. I will grade the story like B - or C ..
Addictiveness .. Addictiveness is normal for me .. Just like i said , I didn't like to play it again any more .. So , no good news for addictiveness.
Depth ... Depth is like the only good reason why i play pokemon games , you will spend a half month if you want to raise your pokemon's level to 100 or so .. And also on catching all 386 pokemons , completing your pokedex , finishing lots of strong trainers and battling at the battle tower .. Also you can't forget to explor the whole 7 islands and catch all the legendary on the game will also make the game allot more longer to finish ..!
Difficulty .. the difficulty is just right .. like the other pokemon games , it also have a pattern ( which i think every one knows ) .. But if you do a nuzlocke run with this game it makes the game allot more difficult ..
Overall , the game is good it shows a lot of fun for me .. This is a perfect game for pokemon noobs ( newbies ) to play ..! So i recomend you playing this game ..

Fire red is a classic game turned modern. It has the same storyline as Pokémon Red and Blue versions, but it has new twists. Like the National Poked ex, hundreds of new Pokémon. Plus full color! The graphics are some of the best for GBA. I love how it has Mew-two and the legendary birds, but it also has the legendary dogs. The best part about it is the difficulty it is a simple game to get, but it progressively gets harder. So, if you ever get the chance to play this wicked game I say do it. You won't regret it.

Amazing Classic   jakkthebeastie
Okay, so overall Pokémon FireRed is an excellent game. Now I may be biased because I've been playing it since I was a kid, but being completely honest this is a game that I downright love.
Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game aren't the same as the other GBA Pokémon games. They're not worse, they're not better. As a matter of opinion, however, I love FireRed/LeafGreen graphics. The lines are clean-cut, the colors are clear, everything is just really...crisp. In my opinion, RSE (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald) graphics were decent, but not amazing compared to these. The crispness of the battles, terrain, trainers, Pokémon, buildings, everything... astounds me . I only give the graphics a nine because it IS a matter of opinion, and people may disagree. To each their own.
Sound: 9
Okay, let's be honest. You simply cannot get over the classic Pokémon music. It's perfect. The music isn't new-age, elegant, or full of bass drops, but for a GBA game this sound is pretty excellent. Point off for the incredibly obnoxious low-health-warning-noise that makes me want to chew off my ears, but otherwise FRLG take the cake for sound.
Addictiveness: 10
Easy ten. I've played this game literally countless times. I've owned it three times and lost it all three (mostly due to moving, vacations, and airports). Now I continually repeat it on here. Hands down, a ten on addictiveness. There's always the next gym, the next battle, the next Pokémon to catch. Then the Elite Four. Then the island quests. Then catching them all - literally. I've completely beaten this game once. It was incredibly hard, but incredibly satisfying. And I'd love to do it again.
Story: 9
I personally like the story because it reminds me of classic beat-Team-Rocket-because-they're-bad. Okay, scrap that. It IS classic beat-Team-Rocket-because-they're-bad. A simple, direct storyline. It leads you to the end of the main storyline (the first 150) very clearly, with small objectives scattered about to lure you in the right direction. After the Elite Four, the storyline is a bit harder to pick up on, though once you get the hang of it, it's a snap to complete the Island Quests and gain the ability to trade with RSE. After that, it's all about catching them all.
Depth: 10
This game is HUGE. There is so much to do! Don't get me wrong, it's no Skyrim. But it certainly has a nice bulky to-do list. Catching/acquiring 150 different Pokémon, several of which are in the complimentary game. Many of these you need to raise to high levels to attain their evolved forms, throwing a wrench in your plan of buying tons and tons of Pokeballs. Beating the Elite Four, and the Champion! Whew! I know that I failed the first time, but it only made me try harder. So much fun. All in all, this game is a long one, and a good one.
Difficulty: 8
Overall, the main difficulty comes from simply training up your team and actually getting out there, hustling, and making an effort to catch every Pokémon you can. So the difficulty is formidable, but it is also beatable.
Overall: 9.8
Excellent game . Just excellent.

Pretty good pokemon game   jaws123
Pokemon Fire Red Review...
GRAPHICS: 10/10
This game's graphics are good. I guess they aren't anything special but they're not especially bad. Just like any other 3rd generation pokemon game the graphics are better then the first two generation's. Better looking characters, buildings and pokemon. Pretty much everything looks pretty good and clear.
SOUND: 9/10
The music is very good and I really enjoy listening to it. The music really pulls me back  when I was playing Pokemon Yellow for the first time. It will always stick with me. I especially like the Team Rocket music that pops on when ever you encounter them along your journey. I also like when your rival comes up to you. The music that goes with him fits his cocky personality.
ADDICTIVENESS: 9/10
I really liked this game. I had already beaten pokemon yellow so i knew most of what i was supposed to do, but the much better graphics and other small differences kept me hooked. I, like most of the other games i played, stayed up extremely late every night until i had raised an unbeatable team, beat all the gyms, and finally beat the elite 4 and defeated the champion.
STORY: 8/10
The story is nothing really special. It's not very captivating or anything. But i guess it's not a really bad story. you are pokemon trainer Red. You start out with a decision between three great starters. Unfortunately, whichever pokemon you chose to be your starter your rival, Gary, will always chose the super effective pokemon. Together with your pokemon you go through the cities and towns, collect gym badges, defeat Gary a lot, and add pokemon to your team.
DEPTH: 7/10
This really isn't the biggest pokemon game. One good addition that was made different to the first generation was extra chain of islands to visit and guess what! Fight Team Rocket!  Other then that there isn't really that many other things you can do besides continue the story.
DIFFICULTY: 5/10
This is really an easy game. There isn't really anytime where your left wondering what to do next. It is all pretty strait forward. The battles are easy as long as you have a good balanced team that is effective against everything. As long a you can match up to all your opponent's pokemon with super effective hits as an advantage your good to go.
OVERALL: 8/10
This is a good game. I'm sure almost every pokemon fan has already played it but if you haven't i highly suggest this game if your looking for your next pokemon game to play. This game is not really super special but i did enjoy it and i'm sure you will too.

Pokemon Fire Red Review
" Difference of leaf green and fire red "
Lots of people asks " What is the different between Pokemon Fire red and Pokemon Leaf Green" or " Is Pokemon Leaf green and Fire red the same or not " . Well , Pokemon Fire Red / Leaf green is the same , they just differ on some Pokemon about 10 - 16 of them .. Here are the examples .. Fire Red : Arbok , Delibird , Ekans , Elctabuzz , Gloom , Growlithe , Odish , Psyduck , Quilfish , scyther , seadra , shellder , , skarmory , weezing , wooper. But in Leaf Green : Bellsprout , kingler , mantine , magmar , marill , misdreavous , muk , pinsir , remoraid , sand shrew , sandslash , slopoke , slowbro , Sneasel , staryou , vulpix , weepinbell , ninetails .. The chances of encounter a certain pokemon depends also on what version you are using , for example a male nidoran is more likely to appear in Fire red that in leaf green . But Leaf green and fire red are the same on most part of the game ..
" Other Questions "
Q: Is pressing buttons increase the catch rate of a normal pokeball ?
A: No, but it makes your game play more fun when you press and hold a + b buttons rapidly .. I usually laugh when i can catch a legendary with a normal pokemon and says " Yes , pressing a + b does work " but it doesn't pure luck and only luck can catch a legendary with a normal pokeball..

Q: What is the best starter for beginners ?
A : There is really no best pokemon for a starter , it depends on your patience .. If you can waste your time training with wild pokemons so pick charmander if not then pick bulbasaur if neutral pick squirtle .. But here is my choice :
   1.) Squirtle
   2.) Charmander
   3.) Bulbasaur
Q: what is the best team when your in the Elite 4 ?
  A : here is my choice ..
When you chose charmander :
Charizard
Zapdoz
Gyarados
Alakazam or Kadabra
Dragonite
Hitmonchan
When you chose squirtle :
Blastoise
Zapdos
Moltres
Haunter or Gengar
Dragonite
Hitmonlee
When you choose bulbasaur :
Venasaur
3 legandary birds
Any Strong Dark type
Dragonite

Sounds :
Pokemon games have the same sounds ..
Depth:
The depth of the game is just neutral .. If you put your best in playing it i think you'll finish the game quickly .
Difficulty:
The game is not that difficult .. so a neutral point again ..
Story :
The in-game story is good .. You are Red and your motto is " Gotta catch em' all " And I hate that motto .
Addictiveness :
The game is really addicting .. Its because of the ... I dont know ... but i'm really adicted to this game.
Graphics:
The graphics is not good when you compare it to other hacks of fire red and leaf green .. But still , neutral.
" My Opinion About The Game "
I think over all , the game is good for beginners in the pokemon world .. so I recommend YOU to play this game ..

Cool remake   cplegogame25
I remember playing this game when I was 6 and all I used to beat the game was a Charizard level 73 and Articuno level 58. I didn't know how to play the game at all. But everything is improved from the original red and blue. Everything is balanced, no crazy glitches and better sprite design. Everything is just so swesome about the game, but doesn't get a full 10/10 because there is no huge story to follow, it's just go to gym to gym, fight team rocket, elilte four and win. You can also got to 1-6 island when you're done with the game and find 2nd gen pokemon and Moltres. But I will always keep this game close to me at all times, until i lose it in a mess or something like that. I'm sorry i'm dragging this out, i didn't mean to.

My Review on Pokemon Fire Red Version   pokemonfangirl
Hey people. This is my review on Pokemon Fire Red version, which is a really awesome game. Everyone should play this, 'cos it's a really awesome game designed for people of all ages. :)

Graphics: 9
I think this game has almost perfect graphics for the GBA, because they're nice and pretty smooth.
Even though it's not a perfect 10, it has some of the best graphics for the GBA.
Sound: 9
Sound will get another 9. Pokemon games have some of the best songs ever in video games. They're just so nostalgic! :D
Music is also pretty catchy tune. It has some of the Best music on the GBA.
Addictiveness: 10
This is a really addicting game, and I have a lot of trouble putting it down. Addicting game, 'nuff said.
Story: 7
This game has a pretty decent story, you're a Pokemon trainer trying to catch Pokemon and defeat gym leaders.
So yeah, it is pretty nice.
Depth: 9
Most Pokemon games I know are pretty long. You have to do a lot of different tasks to beat the game, like defeating the Elite 4, all gym leaders, stopping by at every city and even more. So, it's pretty long.
Difficulty: 6
Pokemon games are not that hard, they're pretty easy. I can go pretty far in one day.
I don't know many hard Pokemon games. :P
Overall: 9.7
This awesome game deserves a 9.7. This is one of my favorite video games of all time, so it has to deserve a pretty high score.
So, that was my review, and I hope you enjoy it.:)

I think the graphics of this game is pretty good, but the graphics are the only thing that I think would be better, but the graphics are still OK. There is a lot of the history of pokemon to beat the game. I think all pokemon games would be a very good game to play because, it is very addicting and there is a lot of steps to the game and I like that. Pokemon Fire Red is not bad when it comes to cheating. For cheating, Pokemon Fire Red would be very fun to play, because it would be easier to beat and pokemon would be tougher and I think the only bad thing about chearing is the game might crash and it will have more advancements on computers and it costs more money to buy a cheating device, but Pokemon Fire Red and pretty much all pokemon games are fun and no wonder why Pokemon Fire Red and any other pokemon game is fun.

Pokemon Fire Red Version   brawler456
My overview: This game really brings back memories for me. It was my first actual Pokemon Game, so this is a little bias then again, what review doesn't have bias?
Graphics: As one of the first games for Game Boy Advanced that involved pokemon, the graphics were Very good for it's time. The sprites in the game look like sprites in the Anime, and that is something that most pokemon games, didn't have which was a disappointment. Also, the battle animations (When your entering a gym leader battle, elite four battle or champion battle) showed the people as they looked on the Anime as well. So, Graphics overall is a 9 for me.
Sound: The Sound was excellent on this game. Move sound, Gym Music, City Music, etc... The only reason this isn't a 10 is because of repeating town music. Many of the islands (one island, two island, three island, etc...) have music from other cities. That is what disappoints me. It would be better for each City/Town to have it's own music. So, I rate Sound a 9 as well.
Addictiveness:  This game has blown away most other Game Boy Advanced games. Though one of the first, it is almost like you can't help but play the game again, even when you actually beat it. Addictiveness would have been a 10, except for the fact that when you can't do anything at all due to the problem of you 'completing' the game. Though every time Nintendo argues that Pokemon games never end, that is simple not the case. I rate Addictiveness a 9.
Story: This story line goes into major depth. From battling Team Rocket to all of the side quests in the game. Here is a quick overview of the story. You are Ash/Red from Pallet Town and are finally ten years old, so you get your first Pokemon. You wander around the Kanto region getting the Gym Badges and stop and evil team known as Team Rocket from taking over the world. This story continues after you beat the Champion of course. I rate the story a 9.
Depth: This game is one of the better Pokemon Games that Nintendo has created. It's long, it has multiple goals, and it takes days to complete (longer if you have no experience). I rate Depth a 10.
Difficulty: Sadly, difficulty is the factor that most Pokemon games do not have. However, this is one of the hardest (except maybe for the Hoenn games). The gyms are more challenging than other games as well as harder to find/catch Pokemon. It also allows the evil team on this game to come back after you have beaten the Champion, which to me is very good. I rate difficulty the lowest at an 8.
Overall: Overall, this game is addicting, fun and well thought through. This is one game I would play over and over again just for the sheer entertainment, not because their is nothing else to do. I would rate the Overall game itself a 9.

Quite Impressive   ThunderGaming
Pokémon Fire Red is probably my favorite Pokémon game. I never really liked the original Pokémon games of the Game Boy due to the glitches and lack of information given. Fire Red, whilst not bombarding you with information and variables from the get-go, feels like the developers were trying to let you learn at your own pace. The difficulty curve is just right, but the AI seems to lack intelligence when it comes to deciding when to use items and which attack to use, but if it did know, the game would be a lot tougher because some trainers have well-rounded move-sets designed to sweep down certain types of Pokémon.
The graphics are sleek and look just as polished as the three Generation Three games. Sprites have good details and colors but are still plagued by just sitting there and looking strange whilst you hit them with your Tackles and Flamethrowers. However there are a lot of different sprites so animating them all with different attacks and idle animations would have most likely pushed down the release date. I found myself head banging to some of the tracks. Also, unlike the other Game Boy Advance Pokémon games, this game isn't plagued by trumpets screaming into your ears the whole time. At least, if it did, I couldn't hear it - I was too busy playing the game!
The game-play is pretty damn good for a Pokémon game. Sure, it will become tiring after a while, but this isn't a game designed to be beaten in one sitting. The main campaign will take you about ten hours to complete, and then there's breeding, the post-game and legendary Pokémon to catch. If you squeeze everything you can out of this game, you might be able to get as much as thirty hours out of it. Sadly, I don't find the story any good. We all know about the plot-twists at the end of the game, but to be honest, I saw them coming from a kilometer away.
I don't rate games on difficulty or story, though. I average out the depth, graphics, addictiveness and sound to find my final score. This game gets an 8.5 out of 10. It is pretty long with a lot of replay value, so you will get your money, well, Viz, out of it. What reduced the rating is that I honestly don't feel motivated to play it again, but I am confident in saying this is the most fun you'll get out of a Pokémon game.

Pokemon Fire Red   TrasherEvan
First of all, Pokemon Fire Red is the first video game that I have ever owned. I got it (along with a silver GBA SP) for my eighth birthday. I lost my game, got a new one, found my old one, and game it to my friend. My current starter is Blastoise, and I have a Pikachu, a Charizard, a Butterfree, a Vileplume, and a Scyther. But enough about me, onto the review!
Graphics: 7
The Graphics were, overall, great for a GBA game. Every trainer has his or her own rematch sprites (such as jumping up and down, raising their hands, etc.) and the terrain looks very realistic. My only complaint is that your character looks disappointingly boxy, while everyone else looks smooth and realistic.
Sound: 8
I love the songs in this game, and even sometimes find myself humming them. The only reason that I didn't give it a full 10 is because of the little beeping noises every time you do something.
Addictiveness: 7
I, personally, have started around 4 different games on one pack. You might not think that beating the same game twice is very fun, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There are also minute differences if you play as a boy or a girl, but I won't divulge them in case you want to discover them yourself. You don't? Too bad.
Story: 7
The story is pretty much your standard Pokemon story. Some creepy old dude asks you to run a long and grueling errand for nothing in return. Old, but nice. (I guess.)
Depth: 8
This game is fairly long. Figure 20 to 40 HOURS of gaming to beat the primary story, and an additional 10 to 20 to beat the secondary one. After that, you still have to figure out how to complete your Pokedex. Good luck, and a hint is that you need at least three games, and at least one of each Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Difficulty: 3
Sadly, this is the downside of every Pokemon game. They do take a while to beat, but every trainer (apart from the Elite Four) is stupidly easy. And even if you're having trouble, you can always go and train for a while and then come back.
Overall: 9
I'd say that this game is definitely worth your time. Even if you've played and beaten Red, Fire Red has the all-new Sevii Isles story, so there's plenty of new material.

POkemon Fire red   Arslan
Hi this is my review for  the game Pokemon Fire Red now lets start from the beginning
This is a very good game and a most interesting one because you get to catch some legendary Pokemon and the starters are also very good charmender is the flame Devil,Squirtle the Aqua Leviathan and bulbasaur the cool minded guy. You get to beat all the 8 gyms and conquer the kanto league and  beat a rival trainer.
Starting:
You start as a normal trainer like any Pokemon Game. Professor(Oak,Elm)etc starts  the game now you continue your adventure with a rival trainer to conquer the Kanto league .
Story
As  any Pokemon game you start in a Town you go to professor (oak,Elm)etc to get a starter Pokemon for your journey it is all a typical game but conquering league and catching legendary Pokemon makes the game a lot more interesting.
Graphics
Graphics are very good they are better then average and Pokemon sprites are also very good i give 10 to this games graphics.
Sound
Sounds are very awesome well most of the time when you battle you get a good track which is playing  it is very catchy though.I give 9 to this game in sounds.
Addictiveness
The game is very addictive because you have to beat all 8 gyms well last 2 gyms are the hardest  and i failed 5 times trying to conquer the league.well most of the time at the last one.well after i conquered the league most of the time i was searching for Pokemon at every step .I give 9 to the addictiveness of the game.
Depth
You have  a lot to do in the game even if you beat the league  you have to complete the Pokedex and starting you have to beat all the gyms for the league. It took me almost 3 weeks to complete the game and it is hard.I give 8 to the depth of this game.
Difficulty
The game is difficult as your Pokemon should be at level 90 or 95 if you wanna conquer the league without failing and when you are challenging the last 2 gyms it takes at least  tries to beat the leader when you beat the champion you must have very strong Pokemon more then 97 if you want to beat him easy this game requires much grinding before the league.I give 7 to the difficulty of this game
Overall
Overall i like this game to much trying to catch all Pokemon  and legendary Pokemon  this game is better then most and is something i would play all day. I give overall 10 to this game.

I LOVED IT   KingTrololo
I loved the game overall but there was really no story but addictive gameplay. It was a great game and I loved it all the way. But these are the things I hate. How can you get the Diploma if you can't trade, well maybe you can with Netplay but I haven't tried that yet. Also the entire game was great but there are things you can't get unless you use a guide which would suck if you are the people, including me, that hate cheating. It Is and easy game to complete so it was fun while it lasted but it all goes downhill when you defeat the Elite Four. That is the end because you can't trade, well maybe. So the next time I play a Pokémon Game it ought to be one of those hacks that make it so you can catch every Pokémon. But that's mostly it. I cannot believe one of the best games in the world is stopped short for not being able to trade. SO that is why I gave it 7.3/10. I loved It on the GBA but on an emulator, well, no.

Pokemon Red Review by: TreasurePlanet23   TreasurePlanet23
Introduction: Pokémon Fire Red is an update to the previous installment in the Pokémon series on the Gameboy. This time, the game has great advancements, new additions, and of course, new Pokémon!! Mostly everything for this game is greatly updated and satisfies the needs of any hardcore Pokémon fan that didn't get what they wanted back when Red and Blue came out. Instead of, I don"t know, "Aqua Blue", instead we have Pokémon Leaf Green, it's sister game, if you will. Pokémon Green came out in Japan, while here in the United States, we all received, Pokémon Blue. Anyways, let's jump right into the review!
Graphics: The graphics in this game are great. The Pokémon sprites are a huge improvement over the last generation. Well, at least I hope they would. The over-world in this game is very animated and each person has their own distinct outfit. Well, except for Team Rocket of course. Every time you enter a battle, say you were in the forest, it almost seems like you are actually sifting through the grass to encounter whatever Pokémon you have encountered. I really enjoyed looking at this game for hours on end. My only gripe with the graphics is that the battle backgrounds are a little dull. Like I said earlier, if you are in the grass, the background will be a dull green. To me, that is pretty lazy programming. At least have something that sticks out in the background. But, they have fixed that in the later generations. Also, they should have added some animations to the Pokémon as well. So, for those minor complaints, I gave the graphics a solid 8/10.
Sound: Oh man. The sound in this game is great. Every town has a great little tune for you to listen to, every cave, building, everywhere! My favorite theme for this game has to be the final battle with your rival. That song really gets you pumped while you are smashing your thumbs on the buttons in excitement. They definitely didn't get lazy with the audio department. It has that perfect mix of new songs, and remixes of the old 8 bit Pokémon music that we all hold dear. As you progress through the game, the music will get more epic. You will never get tired of listening to one particular song. Some of the songs are so good that I have them on my iPod. So, for the great sound quality for this game, I rated the sound a perfect 10/10!
Addictiveness: Let me tell you something. After you do all the annoying quests at the beginning of the game, you will be hooked on your Gameboy until you beat the game. That is how fun it is. You have around a 2 hour quest ahead of you, post game content that was added as an addition from original game, catching and collecting all the Pokémon, and leveling up all your Pokémon that you have caught to your liking. So, you have at least a 20 hour quest ahead, and it is very addicting. This game has so much to offer as far as gameplay goes. The first time I played this, I had a blast playing it, and it is still very fun to this day. So, for all these key points, I have rated the addictiveness of this game a solid 10/10!
Story: Like any other Pokémon game, you start out as a 10 year old boy striving to become the champion of the Kanto league. You have a rival as well. You will encounter him every so often and he will continue to get stronger. You get a Pokémon, a creature that battles and gains experience as well as grows with you as your companion, from your local friend, Professor Oak! After you have received your choice of Pokémon, you set out on your journey to become a Pokémon master. That is pretty much the gist of it. Along the way, you will battle trainers that want to battle you, obviously, using your Pokémon. After so many levels, your Pokémon evolves into it's next form. Although, some Pokémon do not have another form. These Pokémon are called legendary Pokémon. You can catch them after you have learned certain TM's to help you along your way to catching them. You will encounter Pokémon gyms. These gyms will test your skills in Pokémon battles. If you succeed to defeat the gym leader, you obtain that badge that the gym leader has. After you have collected all of these badges, you can put your skills up to the test at the Elite 4. If succeed in beating all of the trainers as well as your rival, you become the Pokémon master! I have always liked this story, and it never gets old. For the always excellent Pokémon story, I give it a 10/10!
Depth: There is a lot of things to do in this game. I believe I have mentioned them before, but if you have already forgotten them due to boredom, I will restate them now.
This is a big improvement over the original game. So, for adding more content to the game as well as new Pokémon, I have given the depth for this game a perfect 10/10!
Difficulty: This game isn't that hard if you train your Pokémon correctly. Granted, your rival is sometimes very hard to beat later in the game, but other than that, it isn't hard. The only hard part I have encountered is Victory Road where you have to navigate through the maze where it leads you to the Elite 4. I have had to use some sort of gaming advice from Youtube and whatnot. But besides that, there really isn't any reason for you to stop playing it because it is too hard. I think Pokémon games should be a little harder because it makes the games more fun. Granted, there is a large younger audience that enjoys playing Pokémon, but I think that it would really be a good addition to make the game a little harder. So, for the lacking difficulty of this game, I will rate it an average 5/10.
Overall: I will make this part short and sweet. I never get tired of this game at all. When I am bored, I will pop this bad boy into my Gameboy any day. This game is just simply amazing. I think it has to be my favorite Pokémon game. So, I have to rate this game a perfect 10/10!

Awesome   Zangoose_Girl
Sure, we could all be playing Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, OR we could play the original games. I think they are amazing. The originals, I mean. Well, Here's my ratings.
                                                                                                     GRAPHICS
The graphics are OK. Just normal Game Boy Advance graphics. But if I were to rate the Pokémon designs, I would say 10. They are really creative! I mean, come on. WE'RE TALKING  TURTLES WITH CANNONS ON THEIR BACK! What's more creative than that? Er... Yeah... A flying purple elephant with bat wings and breaths fire at chickens to get eggs. Wait... How would that even work?
                                                                                                      SOUND
Uh... 10 FOR THE LAVENDER TOWN MUSIC!!! =D But like most people say, it would be cool to hear something other than random bleeps and bloops. Why can't Game-freak use Pokémon Yellow logic to bring back Pikachu saying "Pika!".
                                                                                                       ADDICTIVENESS
Can't... Stop... Playing... O_O SO FUN!!!
                                                                                                        STORY
There's a big jumble in the Saffron area. Go to Cerulean! OK, done there. Now go to Veridian. Go to the S.S. Anne and get Cut and the Badge. Now go back to Cerulean! It can be confusing, but hey, I got to the point where I can get through Rock Tunnel without flash.
                                                                                                         DEPTH
Pokémon games simply never end. Beat the game? Time to catch 'em all! Caught 'em all? Time to get them all to level 100! Done with that? You must be amazing at Pokemon! Talk to everyone! Do some side missions! It never ends! After you do it all, try to beat the League again!
                                                                                                         DIFFICULTY
Anyone can play it! Except... Maybe not a 2 year old...
                                                                                                          OVERALL
Very fun. You can play it over and over!

Pokemon Fire Red Review   Joey W
Hello all! I am Joey W. It's been awhile since I made a game review so bear with me!
First of, the graphics: I gave the graphics a 10. The graphics, compared to other GBA games, were amazing. The animations were also very good. I could have many complaints about the graphics, but for when this game was created, they are very good.
Secondly, the sound. Pokémon has better music than any game, period. Or, that's at least my opinion. This game's graphics were phenomenal. I could honestly listen to the soundtrack for a very long time, and you will because it is very, very repetitive. Lavender town is my favorite though. Despite all of the many spooky stories on creepypasta, it is very well composed. Overall, the soundtrack deserved a 10.
Addictiveness: As much as I love reality, this game was really addictive. I played this over a long period of time, not just in one sitting. When I took a hiatus from playing, the moment I beat Sabrina, I couldn't put the game down. I could not wait to play this as soon as I stopped, so, I gave it a 10.
Story: I've been playing Pokémon since I was in elementary school. I've beat Pokémon for what seems as hundreds of times(which is a little bit of hyperbole). I've beaten fire red countless amount of times. Why you ask, Well, the story is great. Aside from the usual beat the gym leaders and then beat the elite four, Fire Red offers the best after game storyline in every Pokémon game. I really enjoyed it the first time I beat, which seems like many moons ago, and I enjoyed beating it again. I had to give it a 10.
Depth: Pokémon is famous for the myriad of things to do. Catch all the Pokémon (which currently cannot be done on this fantastic website), beat the elite four, and complete every after game option which may include defeating all of the legendaries. This game was also special because of the addition of the Sevii Islands. The depth was amazing so I gave it a perfect score here.
Difficulty: Pokémon isn't the most difficult of games, and that is a good thing. I tried to run a monoPokemon challenge, if that's even what it's called. Of course, I can't do that because of the stress on HMs in this game. However, my Venusaur was at least 20+ levels above all the opposing Pokémon (except Mewtwo). Other than that, the Elite Four is difficult to run with one Pokémon and catching the legendaries were difficult, but the story and depth made it all the worthwhile. So, I gave it a 3.
Overall, after averaging the score and a little rounding, Pokémon Fire Red earned a 9.7/10. I strongly recommend this game to everyone and I hope you enjoyed this review. Till next time, peace!

Pokemon Fire Red Review!   DaFlame12
Overall- 10
I know the numbers don't equal it, I just like the game THAT much.
Graphics- 9
The Game Boy Advance was released in 2001. The Nintendo DS was released in 2004. I think that Pokemon Fire Red has better graphics than New Super Mario Bros., but that is just my opinion. For a game that was released in 2004, this game has excellent graphics. I also like the graphics better than most Wii games.
Sound- 9
The music is good and sometimes relaxing, and has a good beat but is somewhat redundant. The sound effects aren't great, but for an older game, the sound effects and music are really good. I give the sound a 9, the same amount of years ago this game was released at the time of my post.
Addictiveness- 10
The first time I played this game, I had low expectations due to having only played Pokemon Yellow before for like 10 minutes. But this game grew and grew on me, and before long I was sitting in my computer chair playing this game for hours upon hours at a time. I now am a BIG Pokemon fanboy, and even bigger than Mario, which, not too long ago, was my favorite Nintendo game and character, before I ran into Pokemon, and now it's Pokemon and Ash.
Story- 10
I know the story isn't exactly... well... original, but I still like it. Yes, the same story was used in Pokemon Red, Blue and basically even Yellow up to this point, but all originality aside, the story is amazing! This story is going to go down in history for best video game/retro game/computer game ever!
Depth- 9
The game is huge! There are 9 cities, one giant building, a tower, a maze-like power plant, an island where people live (sort of like Hawaii!) and seven other islands! This game will take some time to even beat the elite four the first time, little long second. There is a ton to do in this game, catch the Pokemon, beat the gyms and the elite four, face everyone along the way, take down Team Rocket, and much more!
Difficulty- 5
I know, I know. The game isn't that difficult to just do what the main goal is, beat the elite four and become the Pokemon league champion, but to catch 'em all, you can't even do that on a rom or with just one game! You need to have like Fire Red, Leaf Green, AND Emerald to catch 'em all, and a Game Boy Advance (which I own) or a Nintendo DS or DS Lite. (No DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, or 3DS XL, because they do not have Game Boy Advance slots.) I just caught Mewtwo today, and that was really hard! To someone who has never played Pokemon, and I mean NEVER before this game, the game would be at least a 7 in difficulty... probably? But to someone who has at least seen someone play Pokemon and gets what it is about, this would be rated low, sort of like mine, and possibly even lower.

achyboy777's review   achyboy777
First of all, this is my first review and I hope you like it.
I really enjoyed playing Pokémon Fire Red, it is an addictive, fun and enjoyable game and would recommend it to all of you. It is a remake of Pokémon Red (For the Game Boy) and they have done really well. Obviously it was going to be better than the original as the Game Boy Advance is (as its name suggests) a lot more advanced than the Game Boy.
Graphics - 8/10
The graphics are very good and I prefer them to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. However I also prefer them to the later released Pokémon Emerald for the in game play. On the other hand, the Pokémon sprites are quite inconsistent. For example the Pikachu sprite is huge, standing up and looks like it was from a few generations earlier.
Sound - 6/10
The weakest area of the game. I was very disappointed with the music while in areas which was not very impressive. The worst part was the noise the Pokémon make when you find them in the wild. HORRIFIC! On the flip side however, I did like the music in battles with Legendary Pokémon, but although it was good, nothing special.
Addictiveness - 9/10
The game is very addicting and I would definitely restart my file and play again. The gyms are fun and the variety of different Pokémon is also a big plus. At times I would get home and immediately turn on the laptop to play this and I'm sure you will do the same once quite far into the game. The only reason it is not ten is the sequence after the 7th gym (I won't tell you so I don't spoil it).
Story - 7/10
The story is good but not brilliant. Like all Pokémon games you are set of on your amazing journey to defeat all the gyms and become the Champion, however there are some bumps along the road. In this game your rival is Gary (or whatever you decide to call him) and you will battle him throughout the game in various locations. Also the evil Team Rocket are once again attempting to take over the world (or some such thing). Overall the story is good and I especially like the secret of the 8th gym (you'll have to find it out for yourself).
Depth 8/10
There is a lot to do in this game especially in the post game. The main game does not take that long to complete (if you know what your doing) however I have given this an 8 due to the number of Legendary Pokémon available. You can find Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos pretty easily however more are also available including Mewtwo and one of Raikou, Entei and Suicune (depending on your starter). Also the Battle Tower is a fun way to use up the day.
Difficulty 5/10
Not much to say really. Pretty easy to complete the game however some areas have a lot of trainers in them. The fact that I never lost a battle (which is quite rare) speaks for itself.
I have given this game a 9.1 and I know that does not reflect the average of all my scores however I do not believe they tell the whole story.

Pokemon Firered   dragon111
Pokémon firered is actually a reverse version of Pokémon leaf green the only slight thing is that they have one different Pokémon on there those Pokémon are growlithe and vulpix all the usual though let's get back to fire red Pokémon firered is a Pokémon game that travels you through the kanto region you start out being able to choose charmander squrtle and bulbasaur the three kanto starters you fight off team rocket and battle through a lot of times of toughness. Adventure and build the ultimate Pokémon party fight through rigorous battles go to city from city and gym from gym till finally the fights you have been waiting for the elite 4 Loreli the ice trainer, Bruno the fighting type trainer, Agatha the ghost type trainer, and Lance the dragon type trainer all against you to see who will be the victor  but also someone else is waiting for you the champion your rival/friend who left pallet town with you two clash with fury and desperate to win after then you win you enter the hall of fame to become the true champion but there is also another part of the story a side quest the sevii islands the funny thing is after you beat team rocket in the kanto then they disbanded you fight another part of team rocket on the sevii islands you will have to find a sapphire and ruby on those islands so Celio can complete his dream the good thing is after you beat the sevii islands you can finally go catch mewtwo in cerulean cave this is my review on fire red hope you enjoy it.

Justme's Pokemon FireRed Review   Justme
Well I decided since Pokémon fire red is also one of my favorite Pokémon games I should do a review on it. Well I will start with a brief summary passage on it. This game is amazing and it has Lot's of fun onto it. In Pokémon Fire red you journey through the Kanto with time going by till you are the champion. You face off against team rocket and makes it disband after you fight the leader Giovanni in his gym. He noticed the errors of his ways and disband it. But wait after you beat the game you have a side quest. You have to goto the sevii islands and find the sapphire and ruby. You are confronted with something highly unusual. Another part of team rocket didn't know they disbanded so you have to stop them at the sevii islands. Still you have to fight the fight the biker gang there to. After you finish the sevii Islands you can get a bunch of new Pokémon and Go to Cerulean cave and catch mewtwo. That is all I have to say for right now. Now I will get started with the review. I hope you all enjoy my review.
On the overall I gave it a 9.7
Reason because this game is fun and yet so easy. This game would've been a 10 but I don't like how easy it is. I like games that are normal or challenging. I really can't say that though this game is one of the original, so it is really much I can't do about that. Other than that I really enjoyed this game. It was fun and busting with adventure. I also liked fighting team rocket. I kicked their butts pretty good. I knocked them from city from city trying to rule over the world. This game was really exciting. It was my backup until I got Pokémon emerald.
On the graphics I gave it a 9
Reason because I actually really liked how the game looked. I won't compare it to Nintendo DS games because that would be unfair. I don't like playing games that are ugly though it seems that way if it is on the Game Boy Advance though. I don't have a problem with it if it is on the Game Boy Color or Game Boy. So that is another reason I enjoy this game. I like playing games that has good graphics. I don't care much about quality though quality is like if it has little bitty square blocks.
On the sound I gave it a 10
Reason because it doesn't matter what you are listening to as long as I can hear. Also I like some of the songs on this game. I especially like the rocket hideout song. That is one beast song. I know I am kind of weird for liking game music but I listen to real music to. So basically it really doesn't matter as long as I can listen. Still though anyways I like songs and it doesn't MATTER.
On the addictiveness I gave it a 9
The game is really truly impressive but the game is pretty small. It would've been a 10 if it would've been a little harder and longer. I still think this game is hands down. I will still play it as long as it is around but a easy game is no challenge for me. I still love it though. Well to wrap up this little sector I will tell you this. Play this game no matter how I say this game is easy it is still one of the best Pokémon games I ever played. One of my favorites.
On the story I gave it a 9 as well
Reason because I recognize the story as addictiveness so I give them the same rate. Yeah the story is good and addictive. I enjoyed being able to play this game. I am happy that my brother got me on Pokémon because the stories are very wonderful and spectacular. This game is everything to me and I really like it a lot. I will be blunt with you all. This may not be my first favorite game but it is my second. This game is like wow I love you with a passion.
On the dept I gave it a 5
It really doesn't take a lot to beat this but it is pretty fun. I guess you can say that they put the sevii islands on so I count that as a extra region lol. Still the game is very epic and full of adventure. They probably on put the sevii islands on fire red because of how small of a game it was with kanto. If they did I don't blame em at all. It is a pretty small game if you as me. So yeah that is about all I have to say about the dept.
The difficulty I gave it a 3
Like I said through the whole review this game is EASY! This maybe the most easiest game I ever played. Anyways I don't have a much big problem on it being easy but when I put my life on the line that's a different story. Sorry about that being random but I thought I should put that. Well anyways yes that is very easy and I still love it anyways. Well time to wrap this up with this saying. I love this game and will always love this game just know that ok.
Well that is about it for this review I hope you liked it. I hope you rate it and I will be seeing you around soon enough. Oh and this is a tip from me. During the time in Celedon City you will get a silph scope. Use that to see ghost Pokémon at the Pokémon tower in lavender town. I said this because when I first played this game I had trouble on that part I didn't know where to go when I got that. I figured it out by watching a walkthorugh on youtube. Well anyways bye and see you all soon.

God Game   Agoron
This game is a good game it's a good rpg the graphics for its time are good and seeing as the graphics were still used for a couple more games they are good, The Music is good it may get repetitive but it feels appropriate. This game is addictive there are many Pokémon to collect, train, and evolve. The story is not much you play as a kid who collects all 8 badges, beat the elite 4, and foils team rockets plans. This Game is a big Game with all the Pokémon to catch and train. Its not that difficult if you farm enough in the beginning.

Review for Pokemon Fire Red   Mega Lucario
I will sum this up in a really quick paragraph. The graphics are more to give each character a new look and they really look good. The sound is pretty good even for GBA standards. This game is very addictive from becoming the champion to battling with your friends to catching legendaries! The game tricks you into thinking that it is just go get 8 badges and defeat the elite 4. Its not just that there are mini stories and you have to do such as team rocket trying to catch mewtwo to the ghosts in lavander town. There is alot of depth in this game and it is wonderful read all above this and you'll get an idea. This game can be hard if your team is under level you will have to train at a time but don't give up! Overall this game is a masterpiece to play and i hope you give it a try!

ahhhhhh the memories   thetruemasterof..
:) Looking back this was one of my favorite and first games. I remember my first capture a level 5 pigey.
graphics: 5 They were good but not that good. One thing i hated is how almost every town looked the same. The graphics were awsome in battle but when walking not so much. you think the pokemon center in saforon city would look diffrent from the others but no.
sound: 3 Could barley hear when sound was up all the way. I hated Lavender town it gave me a headache.I love the music on route 12.The music in viridan forest is ehhhh. I cant remember how the otgher music sounded.
adictivness*:10 Played for a day and a half straight once.I loved the challenge of a new game. story: 5 The usual a kid just turning ten getting his or her first pokemon trying to fight the pokemon league and fill the national pokedex. But u do get to fight team rocket here and there witch adds to the story.
deph: 10 It's so big had it since i was 5 to 7 and still have not fully completed the national dex and i'm 15.
difficulty: 7 This was my first pokemon game after all so it was difficult. One thing I hated was always having to hold the b button I wish they had something that locked it to where it said u were holding b.I remember how much i struggled in the second and third gyms. MY friends said give up just go back and choose charmander. But i was stubborn and never gave up. That attitude is what got me and Tsunami(my starter who if u haven't guessed was a squirtle) to be the champs. Oops there i go again rambling on about the game.controls are easy to learn the computer is always difficult never know what itsgonna do next unlike some rp classified games I remember how excited and relived i was when tsunami(my squirtle) whirlwhind(my pigeot) poisin bond(my vileplume) labratory(porygon got from friend named myself though) small & power (magikarp) and hopeful fortune(alakazam) (i know some of these names are to long but its what I intended there names to be)madeit into the league hall of fame. When I saw it wasn't the end I was so excited.I still play it now when ever I see these pokemon I smile and look back at the challenges we concered.
*=tips for ways to extend please

Pokemon Fire Red   master_sparton
Well Pokemon Fire Red is actually a remake of Pokemon Red. You could say that it is originally on the Game Boy Advance. This is a very good game and has plenty fun to offer you to. The slight thing with me and this game is that it is to easy. I like it and all but there is one thing I hate. This game is way to easy. I actually say that it actually gave me a little bit of a challenge on the elite 4 and the sevii islands. The Kanto was easy though. The game was really fun and was very entertainable, but still I don't like very easy games. Well here is my review to this game hope you all like it and want to play it afterwards.
My overall was a 9.5
I like this game and it has great depth to it as well, but still very small. When I played it it only took me 7 hours and 48 minutes. I still play it to train my pokemon and complete the pokedex. Other than that I rarely play it anymore. So that is why I gave it what it has right now a 9.5. Still very good though it's just how easy it was.
On the graphics I gave it a 10
The game looks like my favorite game Pokemon Emerald so I gave it the same as my last review a 10. The graphics are good on this game and so are the pokemon. Pokemon Fire Red looks very well like a good pokemon game enough to get you hooked on it. So yes the graphics are good. I won't compare them to the ones on Nintendo DS because Game Boy Advance games are classic and Nintendo DS games are modern. They still make Pokemon games for them and each one looks better everytime.
On the sound I gave it a 10 as well
Really I like the songs on every Pokemon games but I only like a few on this one. Still I like it and I will continue to like them. That may seem kind of weird to most of you but game music can be my jam sometimes. They are very good most of them. Especially on some of my favorite games on different series. It doesn't matter hack or not. I still like it. And still I like the songs on the Cerulean City, and Vermillion City, and others but I won't say right now.
The addictiveness I gave it a 8
I love this game so much but I don't like beating games quickly if they are easy. Where is the spunk in a game. It has no spunk if you beat it like this with a snap of a finger. It needs to be longer harder and better. If you know what I mean you would get what I am saying. This is one of the best pokemon games I ever played on Game Boy Advance. It could've been my first if it was longer. On my Pokemon Emerald, it took me 23 hours and 17 minutes to beat it. I like games that bring on the challenge.
On the story I gave it a 8 as well
I always see the story as addictiveness but a little different. I gave them both the same rating on every review. The story is fun and I have no problem doing it again but still. It was always a little game to me. I hate doing small games if it is long I accept the challenge. I like the Pokemon Light Platinum version because of how long and hard it was. Also I am a massive trainer because I only lost one battle on that game so far. I haven't beat it yet but only 1 fight I have lost. This game should be more like that hack.
On the depth I gave this a 5
It says how long it took you to beat it if it was long. So I gave it a very little rating. I would say easiest game I ever played. Very good yet so little. The game is really a fun and exciting game, and you could learn a thing or 2 from playing this game but it is a beginner game. It is for people who just started playing pokemon and need to learn the basics. So if you are looking for your first time playing pokemon go here. Super fun and not to hard. It also has guidance if you press the R and L button.
The difficulty I gave it a 3
Well as I said this whole review, this is the easiest game I ever played and will continue to be easy in my opinion. Also I will keep playing this fantastic games until I get really bored of it. This game makes me happy and I like it. But it will remain to easy in my opinion. If I may ask do anyone knows a hack that is like Fire Red but way harder than the original if you have one in mind tell me I want to try to beat it and see if it is a good enough challenge.
Well this is my review hope you all enjoy this and want to play it soon. I won't lie my first time playing this I thought it was the hardest game ever so always becareful on this game it can be a little tricky at times.

best game ever   yankees9999
Pokémon fire red brings it all back. Just like red this one has a ton of Pokémon. It has good controls and it reminds me of all the old games. When my friend was young he had a gba with fire red and he played it until his  gba died. This game has great graphics and some things that you don't see in Pokémon games today. Unlike Pokémon black 2 and white 2 this game has a lot of cool animations for attacking and using items. Lots and lots of people to meet and just like the anime you live in pallet town just like ash. The reason I like it is because there is a lot of things to do. It will take a very long time to win it (and by win I mean 100%) so this game will occupy you for a long  time. What I'm trying to say is that you wont have to get another game until you win. Again what I'm saying is lets say you're like 6 to 10 years old and your parents wont keep buying games (unless you're rich) so if you get Pokémon fire red you wont keep annoying your parents. Fire red is a game you wont regret buying/playing online

A good remake of a game for a portable console   DragonSlayer22
This remake.
It took what elements were good from the original Pokémon Red game on the Game Boy and made it better. I myself wasn't interested at Pokémon because of it's graphics. I saw this and it changed my mind.
Graphics: 8 The graphics are remade in 16-bit instead of 8-bit and in color. They look nice along with improved animations compared to the original Game Boy version. The Pokémon are in color and look better than the original version.
Sound: 8
The music in this version is improved and higher quality compared to the original, more pix-elated music. The sound effects are improved as well, with the Pokémon making higher quality sounds when fighting or interacted with.
Addictiveness: 6 Don't get me wrong, this game is fun, but compared to modern games these days, it looks more like indie game quality, with more Pokémon games out and Pokémon Go in the app store.
Story: 8 The story is that you are a 10 year old person who goes on an adventure starting with Professor Oak and choosing which one of the 3 Pokémon you start with, Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur. These Pokémon will stay with you on your quest to find all of the Pokémon and beat leaders of Pokémon Gyms "gotta catch 'em all".
Depth: 7 The game had a lot to do, with beating Gym Leaders, or doing side quests. It's a big Role-Playing Game that will have you on for hours trying to figure out which Pokémon are where on the map.
Difficulty: 8
The game can be hard and open-ended at time to the point where you don't know which Pokémon to use where. The Gym leaders can be tough to beat as well. You can play with other players using the Game Boy Advance link cable (or netplay if you are on vizzed) and chances are, they will beat you.
OVERALL: 9 It is a nice and solid remake of a good game on the Game Boy, but with updated graphics and new hardware being used for other effects. It is a good game that you will enjoy and still find today, although it is expensive, at around $30 used actually. So I would prefer that you stick to the online version for now if you do not already have it. If you do, then it's good.

The Remake of Pokemon Red: Pokemon Firered   Joe Ma-Ma
I used to have this game physically, but I lost it when I was 9. After a couple years being on this website and finding out you can review games on here, I decided it is now time to review this game. The Graphics are pretty average for a Gameboy Advance game, but it was impressive as a Pokémon Game. The graphics are good, but nothing mind blowing. The Music/Sound is amazing, the soundtrack sometimes gets stuck in my head, especially when you face the Champion, that I'm not telling you who the Champion is because of spoilers. The soundtrack is really good but it can get repeative to listen to after a whole. This game is really replayable, you just want to keep catching Pokémon, training Pokémon, and evolving Pokémon. I also recommend playing with friends, so you can battle out your best Pokémon against every one's best Pokémon. The Story is just plain boring and way too simple. Your a 10 year old wow got a monster from a creepy professor, you go around catching more monster and battling other people's monsters, meanwhile there's a evil team that tries to kill other people's Pokémon for real, you also have to collect badges to get into the Pokémon league and become the Champion, so then there's Blue, he's basically Tom Brady of Pokémon; unlikeable, is a jerk, will always be one step ahead of you, and he's going to always be successful at what he does no matter how much of a douche he is. Your Peyton Manning in this case, his rival, so your going to have to face him a lot. The game gives you a lot to do, even after you become Champion the world opens up a whole new islands and new Pokémon to catch. You'll then have more legendary Pokémon to catch, Legendary Pokémon are Pokémon you can only encounter once and they are really powerful, be expected to fail to catch these Pokémon, but save before you try to catch them so you can reset the game to retry. The game isn't very difficult, but sometimes it can be when you're facing a gym leader or the Elite four, the game can be difficult at those points, but besides that there really isn't that much challenge to the game. Overall, the game has decent graphics, Great soundtrack, really replayable, and has a huge depth to it. The story isn't the best story it's just way too simple, and the game can be very easy at many points of the game, but it can get really difficult during boss time.

Great Game!   Scott102000XBL
This game is great, I love this game. This game was my childhood. Charizard, you will forever be missed. Pokemon Red was amazing when it came out, then, pokemon gold, then ruby, but then, they remade the one that started it all, to show the children of that generation, the first generation (See what I did there?). Reader, I encourage you, since you have the chance now, I greatly encourage you, to play this game. If you've played it before, it's still fun to play again. Those of you who haven't played this, well, what're you waiting for? Try this game! It's amazing! This game is a definite 10/10! You, and everyone who loves pokemon, will love this game!

Good Game   Zappst1
This game's really addictive and at different time's it gives you a good challenge of getting 60 pokemon so you can get the national pokedex where you can finally go to 4 island after getting the national pokedex and getting the Ruby in Mt.Ember. The only thing that could be improved is to have a more firmer grip and block out a bit more of the swears. The only thing is that you need to look up on Google what level's pokemon evolve on these old game's if you don't know. So this is my review so please rate and tell your views.

I like it   DittoDude44
--------------------------------------------------------REVIEW BY DITTODUDE44------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a review for a game called Pokémon Fire Red. First of all this is my 1st or 2nd game review so tell me if I need to add details. Second of all I'll go over the Overall first. Overall-
I'd rate the overall including the after game stuff a 9.8. It's not too bad, I'd recommend it for something to do if you want. I'm not bossing you or being a big, bossy jerk...lol.
I'm going to add in a game play thing, just right about right.....now.
You press the "A" button to move your character, talk to people during your journey, etc.
You press the "B" button to cancel something, say no to a question someone asks you during your journey.
You press the "START" button to start the game (should go to start menu after the little cut-scene at the start of the game unless it's messed up.)
You press the "SELECT" button to select something, arrange your items in your bag, etc.
What is good and bad about the game-
What is good first.
No glitches, no in-the-middle-of-the-game-freeze up :D.
What is bad.
Annoying music, especially for Lavender Town..., kind of hard Elite Four.
That's it! (this was a one-time review, the rest is going to be kind of like Dark Power 508's...

For graphics if give this game an 8 as it is one of the more advanced games of it's time and the graphics are smoothed out and not as pixelated as others. As far as sound goes I give it a 7 because while the tunes are repetitive and don't change much however they are still catchy and don't really get annoying or old. Addictiveness is 8 because as it is a pokemon game while the basics of the start of the game apply throughout the whole thing the aspect of catching, battling, and leveling up your pokemon and new pokemon never gets old. The story of the game gets a 7 as it is like most other pokemon games battling a rival stopping an evil organization and battling all 8 gyms up to the pokemon league. I give the depth of this game a 10 because you can continue leveling up your pokemon and catching even more after you complete the main story making this game basically never ending till you catch and level up every single pokemon to their max level and even then the game doesn't end. Overall I give this game a 8.5 and it was one of the first pokemon games I ever played and will forever remain one of my favorites.

I love this game   pinkiepie1010
I play this game on my ds and  I love it.My saved file got  deleted because,I didn't ply it in a long time.Everthing is a ten, expect the difficulty. This game is easy,if you play Pokémon. I have the game, but I don't play it.Since there is new Pokémon games coming out,I like to play old Pokémon games and hacks of them online.I play hacks of this game on here because, I don't know how to install a hack on my computer.
I am a big, I mean big fan of Pokémon since it came out. I had Pokémon cards first, then I got a ds  and Pokémon pearl for my birthday.I played Pokémon Firered on my ds. I love this game since I had it.

Pokemon Fire Red Cheat Codes

UNLOCKABLES

[Diploma]
To get the diploma, catch all 386 pokemon (i.e. fill the national dex).

[Enable trading to Ruby and Sapphire]
Fix the Network Machine on Island 1. This is done by getting both the Sapphire and Ruby (in game items) and bringing them to the machine

[ItemFinder Secrets]
There are places in the game where important people/Pokemon have stood at one point. If you use the Itemfinder on the EXACT spot where they were, a special item will be found which is usually very rare. You cannot find these items any other way:
- Leftovers: Use Itemfinder where Snorlax was near Cycling Road and Silence Bridge.
- Macho Brace: Use Itemfinder where Giovanni was in Viridian Gym.
- Sacred Ash: Use Itemfinder where Ho-Oh was in Navel Rock.
- Soothe Bell: Use Itemfinder where Mr. Fuji was in the Pokemon Tower.

[Mystery Gift]
Go to any Poke Mart and click on the clipboard near the shopkeeper. The clipboard is a questionnaire. Type in the 4 words "Link Together With All" and the shopkeeper should notice and gives you access to the Mystery Gift system. Save the game and restart. At the Front Menu, there should be a new option called "Mystery Gift" With Mystery Gift, you can unlock many things:
- Aurora Ticket/Deoxys: You can now download the Aurora Ticket at Nintendo Events. This allows you to go to Birth Island, where Deoxys is located
- Mystic Ticket/Lugia and Ho-Oh: You can download the mystic ticket at Nintendo Events allowing you to go to Navel Rock, where Lugia and Ho-Oh are located.

[Secret Trainer Card Stickers]
Go to Island Four and go to the lowest house and talk to the man inside and do the following things:
- Egg Hatching Sticker #1: Hatch 1 Egg
- Egg Hatching Sticker #2: Hatch 100 Eggs
- Egg Hatching Sticker #3: Hatch 200 Eggs
- Egg Hatching Sticker #4: Hatch 300 Eggs
- Hall of Fame Sticker #1: Beat the Elite Four 1 time
- Hall of Fame Sticker #2: Beat the Elite Four 40 times
- Hall of Fame Sticker #3: Beat the Elite Four 100 times
- Hall of Fame Sticker #4: Beat the Elite Four 200 times
- Winning A Link Battle Sticker #1: Win 1 Link Battle
- Winning A Link Battle Sticker #2: Win 20 Link Battles
- Winning A Link Battle Sticker #3: Win 50 Link Battles
- Winning A Link Battle Sticker #4: Win 100 Link Battles

[Trainer Card Upgrades]
By completing certain tasks, it is possible to upgrade your trainer card a total of four times, from the initial blue to green, bronze, silver, and gold. The upgrades can be obtained in any order, and each one adds a star to your trainer card and upgrades the color:
- Star #1: Defeat the Elite Four
- Star #2: Complete the Kanto Dex (Pokemon 1-150)
- Star #3: Complete the National Dex (Except Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys)
- Star #4: Score 200 jumps in Pokémon Jump and 200 berries in Dodrio Berry Picking

EASTER EGGS

[Shiny Pokemon]
Every time you encounter a pokemon you have a 1/8192 chance of the pokemon being a different color, this is called a shiny pokemon

SECRETS

[Determining Pokemon's feelings towards you]
When you use an item on one of your Pokemon outside of a battle, such as a Potion, the Pokemon will either move closer or away from you in the short intermission sequence. How far the Pokemon moves depends on how much it likes you. If it does not move at all, it feels neutral.

[Get to Sabrina in the Saffron City Gym without fighting any trainers]
Enter the Saffron City Gym, and step onto the warp panel. Now, go: North, South, South, North, South, North, North, South, South, North, North, North, South, South. You will now be in Sabrina's room, without having to fight any battles.

[How to avoid wild Pokemon]
This only works on grass. Once you obtained CUT, you can cut the grass so you won't find any Pokemon.

[More time in the Safari Zone]
In the safari zone , stand in any grassy area. Instead of moving left and right, just tap left or tap right so that your character turns but you don't move. By doing this, you'll still run into random encounters but your time in the safari zone will not decrease.

[Infinite Nuggets]
If the player loses to the Rocket Grunt at the end of Nugget Bridge, the player has a chance to fight him again. Each time he is re-fought, he will give the player a Nugget, so one can purposely lose to obtain Nuggets repeatedly.
