Pinball-Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
Introduction: So much nostalgia here. This is a simple pinball game, the usual. But this one is fun because it has fun little twists that will want to keep you playing until completed! It's a pinball game, but with Nintendo, which makes it so much better. It was created in 1983, and was originally a arcade game. Of course, the game simulates a pinball game, which is what it is. But later in that year, it was ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System(NES).

Difficulty:7
Well, this IS a pinball game. Usually pinball games is hard unless you have great reaction times, or if your experienced. This one is pretty easy, but the fact of the rating of the difficulty being a little bit high is because of the bonus games incorporated in with the game. I talk about bonus games below. But really, it isn't all that hard. Just stay on your toes, the ball can move really fast! One tricky thing I had to get used to is that the d-pad on the NES controller is on the left. You use the left flipper with the arrows, which is on the right of the keyboard. I recommend you switch the controls around.

Depth:6
Well, like I said before: this IS a pinball game. That really don't offer that much. But what makes this game special is the few bonus games it has. I mean, I've seen better pinball games, but this one is OK. So you, the player, controls the paddles of this virtual pinball machine. The game has two screens to present the full pinball table, and that one bonus mode. You start by holding the A or B button to launch the ball into the play field with the plunger. It lunches through the bottom screen to the top, which is were you will ultimately start. The only way you can access the bottom screen is if the pinball falls down there. But don't panic! It can go back up to the top screen anytime, if your good enough. So yeah, you control the flippers with the d-pad and the AB buttons. They of course on both screens. The objective of the game is to keep the ball from falling below the bottom screen, which will result in the lost of a ball.

So I promised I was going to talk about the bonus mode so read up! The reason I rated the depth of the game like this is because of this "Breakout" type mode. You can access this mode by flipping you pinball into the upper-left corner of the bottom playing field. It is moderately hard to get to, and it's even harder when you get to it! You, the player, enter a bonus room where Mario is holding a platform. The object of THIS mode is to rescue Pauline, which is somehow trapped up there running side to side like a helpless damsel in distress. This was previously seen in Donkey Kong. You can win this mode by bouncing the pinball off the platform to destroy the targets, which destroys the barrier she is in, all while getting bonus points. When the blocks are gone, she will drop and you have to catch her. If she falls on the ground, you lose. If you catch her you have to help her get to the exits on the left and right of the screen. After that it restarts and you can save her all over again if you have the skill This bonus mode can also end if the pinball goes under the exits, which is an exit for the pinball.

Story:N/A
I didn't want to rate this one because this is just a straight forward type of game. There is no story, and Pauline being trapped is just there so the game can even HAVE a bonus mode. Besides, this would get a VERY low rating, resulting in a low overall rating.

Addictiveness:8
This got an 8 simply because pinball games are a beat-your-own-high score game. So you could play this for hours and days to try to get your highest high score, while you try to see how many times you can save Pauline! You could also make a goal to try to hit every item on the pinball machine, or get every combination on the lottery machine. Almost endless possibilities here!

Sound:7
The only music in this game is on the main menu screen. It is just a collection of sounds on the pinball machine when you hit the objects on the machine. Don't take my word for it, but I THINK there is a song in the bonus room. I can't really remember, and I am not going to try to get up there. It's really that hard sometimes.

Graphics:7
Of course they can be better for an NES game, but it pretty much looks like what a pinball machine would look like, so there should be nothing wrong here.

Overall:7
Personally, I love this game, but this is just a numbers game. I'm pretty sure if you at least TRIED pinball before, you will love this game. Go on, try it! You like it.

So all in all, this is a classic indeed. I've had fun playing this and maybe you will too. This concludes this game review. Thank you so much for your time. Have a nice day.

Pinball Game Description

Try to keep the ball out of the little hole at the bottom of the board by using two flippers (in case somebody doesn't know what kind of game pinball is .The playing field is splitted into two parts, so if the ball falls down the first little hole you aren't dead yet: you get to play on the bottom floor. If you are lucky you get to play the bonus game where Mario makes an cameo appearance: bounce the ball off a platform on top of your head to save Pauline.Pinball was one of the very first NES games ever released.
