A good Start for any newcomer   BrenTenkage
When it comes to the Megaman Battle Network Games something to keep in mind is that this can arguably called the first real game, the first game was a bit of a mess with lack of features and the environments within the net being literally the same design. This is the game that started the trends that stuck throughout the entire series and made it a classic on the GBA.
My thoughts on my ratings however.
Graphics: I gave it a 8, mostly because everything but the NPC sprites look good, the NPC's (most notably a little boy who I swear looked like what would happen if Kermit the Frog had a love child with a human) just don't look as good as the main cast. However the chip design, enemy design and the places you go do have a lot of detail to them (check out Dex's room, has two GBA, you might not even notice that unless you randomly pressed A on the desk)
Sound: 8 as well, because the soundtrack is good (I love that opening and will always listen to it as I load up the game) to be honest though it does get a little grating hearing the same sounds and music, but it at least isn't too much that it ruins the experience, slight annoyance at best.
Addictiveness: Nothing is as awesome as pulling out an advance program on a bunch of virus's you could sneeze on and they would die horribly. Honestly the virus busting is a lot of fun, and while this game isn't as fun as the later installments it does a good job at what it does and while not my first choice I would keep coming back to this (heck doing a let's plays because I felt nostalgic)
Story: Let me put it this way without any spoilers, beware of who you trust. The plot twists here are good, the villains are memorable including the bad ass himself Bass (or Forte if you wish) Although I will have to point out something, this is a rated E game but I've seen guys swear, a little girl tell our main hero he missed out seeing her naked (rescuing her from a gas problem, its early on you will understand) and a guy getting blown up in a subway, no I'm not kidding bout that last part, he is told he is useless and then is blown up with a suite case bomb. Talk bout getting crap past the radar.
Depth: Gotta say its pretty deep, though not as deep as the others it does pack in enough side quests and extra bosses to make it worth scouring the net for.
Difficulty: I gave it a 6 because well....its varies, the battles themselves are more on luck of the draw (but you can set the deck) and timing, if you are good at timing this would be lower but new comers to this game might find themselves having trouble. And the puzzles at times can be hard to figure out or the answer isn't as obvious as you might thing. Having a walk through can help you if you are stuck in the story but at least by pressing the left shoulder button (on a GBA or if you use a controller and set it for that) Megaman (or Lan in the net) will mention what you need to do, so you can help yourself out
Overall: I gave it a 9 because it is a classic, a great game with great characters and story, and I gotta say, enjoying replaying it.

Megaman Battle Network 2   heroesrest
Out of all of the Megaman Battle Network games, this should be used for people who are used to the game series. It is an amazing starter game, mostly because the next few games make references to this game. It is about a boy named Lan Hikari and his netnavi Megaman E.X.E. They explore the real world and the cyberworld trying to stop the netmafia group Gospel. The game play of this game can be somewhat confusing, but once you get the hang of it, virus busting will be a snap. The hardest thing would probably be memorizing the net areas. If you don't know what to do, use the L button for a hint. The story itself is good and fun. Very enjoyable. I am pretty sure this series will be found as a great GBA series.
Graphics-9
The Graphics are pretty great for a GBA game. I have seen games like Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and Metroid Zero Mission, and compared to those games, these graphics are pretty good.
Sound- 6
I love the sounds of virus-busting, but that is just me. Otherwise, it can start to get a bit too repetitive.
Addictiveness- 10
Out of all the Megaman Battle Network games, I keep playing this the most ( other than Cybeast Falzar). It is a great game to play and if you enjoy the random battles like in the Pokemon series, you will like this game. I play it constantly (same with Earthbound).
Story-10
It has a great story. A boy trying to stop a netmafia may seem weird. But what about Earthbound and Pokemon with kids fighting adults. But it is still a good story.
Depth-7
The game takes a while to do running around the overworld and the net and the random battles add to that time but it is still worth it.
Difficulty- 7
Some bosses, like the first, are easy. But Shadowman is an annoying boss, so is Quickman and the Final Boss. But some bosses are fun like the Magnet guy. But that doesn't change the fact that they are still difficult and will require some hand to eye coordination.
This game is worth beating and I just love this game it is my 3rd favorite game of all time and my favorite game on this site, Please play the game and I hope you enjoy it.

One of the best Battle Network games   Trish 'n' stuff
I think that if you want to jump into the Battle Network series, this is the game you should start with.  The first game's not bad, but the battle system hadn't been ironed out, and the lack of variation in its Net overworld is confusing.  That aside, on with the review!
In the not-so-distant future, everything is powered by the Internet.  Everything.  But as this supposed convenience abounds, so do dangerous viruses, who appear in the form of fight-able monsters.  To fight viruses, people use PETs, or Personal Terminals, which contain characters called NetNavis who can fight this evil scourge.  You control Lan Hikari, a youngster whose PET contains Mega Man (or MegaMan.exe, I guess), and eventually become involved in the latest evil plot by WWW.  Go fight them!
The story in this game isn't bad.  It flows a lot better than Battle Network 4's, in my opinion.  There's nothing deep or thought-provoking in it, but it provides for some cool moments.  Perhaps the real world locations are dull, but the Net design in BN2 is one of the most aesthetically pleasing in the series, and the final areas, both online and off, were just so cool.  Also, the game has some very catchy tunes.
On to the ever-important gameplay!  You fight viruses by using battlechips in round-based combat over a three-by-three grid.  Battlechips can hurt opponents, heal you, or provide some other effect (invisibility, changing the panels on the battlefield, etc.).  You can use up to five chips per turn, but at one time you can only use A) chips with the same code or B) chips with the same name.  That's the basics of it.  You can get more battlechips by defeating viruses, buying them, or even defeating another character's NetNavi, which often gives you an abnormally-powerful chip.  The faster you beat an enemy, the more likely you are to get a battlechip.  Mixing and matching chips in a battle folder to get the best combinations combined with a fun battle system gives the addictiveness a high rating.  I have to add one thing, though: the game has a slow start because you'll mostly be fighting the same low-level viruses over and over again.  But when the game picks up, it really gets rolling.
If you make a sufficiently-cheap folder, you can get through the main game relatively easily, so it's not too difficult.  After you finish the game, there's a secret area to explore where you can fight the most powerful viruses and NetNavis, adding to the game's longevity.
I've got this game sitting around at home, and it's my favorite of the whole series (barring, maybe, BN3).  The game feels so...COOL somehow, to me.  Is it just because I grew up with it?  This game is beyond solid, yo.  It's recommended.

Arguably the greatest aspect of the platform games in the Megaman series is the ease with which new players can become good at the games' dynamics. The Battle Network games continue this tradition with an intuitive action/strategy battle system where you move Megaman.EXE around on his portion of the battle grid while trying to avoid enemy attacks and aim your own. Attacking can be as simple as firing the time worn buster - a weak but always accessible option - to the complex and fine art of program advancing, whereby your regular battle chips combine into a super powerful attack. The previously mentioned battle chips are your primary form of both defense and offense as they can have a huge variety of effects. Some battle chips simply fire more powerful shots similar to your buster while others can create shields, affect the terrain of the battle grid, summon other characters to your aid, or heal you to varying degrees. It should also be noted that an homage to the more traditional Megaman titles makes an appearance as it is possible to change the basic attacks and color of Megaman.EXE later in the game.

I'm stuck. Can't get past a puff of gas when in the heater at Yai's house in the beginning. I don't think the character runs as fast as the normal game. It is literally impossible to make it past this specific puff of gas in order to continue.
