It's fun to be OP   ZanderShadowbane
By now you probably have noticed that I am a fan of Megaman Battle Network.  I really enjoy the series but of all the games Battle Network 6 was my first and is my favorite to date.  I figured after finishing the Starforce Crossover ROM hack I would just rewind a bit with a purely superficial ROM hack that changes your sprite and maybe a few other things but was roughly the same.  But I was wrong, this isn't a simple sprite hack, it's a in depth ROM hack like Timeas Patch with a lot of changes to the chips, but with a very distinct difference in style.
Graphics (8):  All and all a decent sprite hack.  Nothing really major, some places the sprite changes look off but it's mostly fine.  The only actual graphic glitch was with Protoman as he has 2 swords at the same time.  Asides from Megaman having Bass Cross there is actually a new boss who looks decent, so that's nice.  Some slight touches are that Lan has a purple bandana instead of blue, and Megaman uses Bass Cross profile Picture.  Megaman is also golden and Protoman is blue.  I also feel like the over world colors are different.  The game's graphics hold up rather well, Starforce Crossover still has the best Sprite work to date though.
Story ():  It's exactly the same, moving on.
Addictiveness (9):  Much like the original MMBN games, this one has a lot for you to do.  Chips to collect, bosses to fight.  There are a number of secret bosses in this game that weren't in the original, and also a lot of new chips.  There's a huge supply of Mega and Giga Chips.  The secret chips can be bought from a subchip merchant which was a very nice touch.  I couldn't fight Bass SP because even though I had the Mark of S the wall wouldn't go down.  I think it might be because I had 202 chips instead of 200.  If you want to 100% this game you might want to stop at 200 just in case.  I might actually go back and try and get it again one day, but not today.  There are a lot more battle chips to find in this game, so for a Battle Network Pro it's still rather fun.
Difficulty (5):  This is rather hard to define.  Though the main story the game is Ridiculously easy due to all the overpowered chips you can find.  There are a large selection of Dark chips to find, as well as chips like Double Beast * and Sync Trigger.  But you're chips aren't the only thing that's overpowered, a lot of you crosses have been modified, so Heat Cross now hits 5 Panels ahead, Erase Cross's charge attack does low damage but stuns all enemies in front of you.  A lot of the less useful chips have been modified to be a lot more powerful.  For example you can use crosses from Falzar in this Gregar hack with the right navicust parts.  Slip Run now gives you status immunity, Self Heal now heals each time you use a chip.  Humor and Poem now cause the viruses you fight to be stronger, and even rare versions of the same ones.  Aside from that you're base form is powerful too, having a beam attack that knocks enemies back and your normal buster shots spread allowing you to hit multiple enemies and enemies that would normally be out of reach.  You also have a Giga capacity of 2 instead of 1.  Most bosses are so easy that you can easily breeze through the game.  The only boss who I can say gave me the slightest challenge in the main story is Ironically the Final boss, who used to be the easiest of all the final bosses in the series.
But then we get into the Post Game, and it is actually very challenging.  I said there are a lot of secret bosses.  These bosses are Omega variations of the normal bosses and a few new bosses.  They are hiding in the side computer systems like the Oxigen tanks or the blackboards so you can fight them early, but I wouldn't recommend it.  You can however run from these fights at any time, so if you think you're not up to it or if things are going south you can get away.  Beating these bosses isn't simply optional, a lot of them drop rare standard, Mega, and even Giga chips if you beat them.  The graveyard is also ridiculously hard having you fight 2 Basses at once.  You fortunately have navi's on your side that can help you most of the time.  Protoman is also a very tough boss.  I can't say how hard Bass or Bass BX are but that's because the game won't let me fight them.  These fights however are very fair ones.  You have a shield you can use, you have overpowered chips and very useful navicust parts.  The bosses do ridicules damage but the game allows you to deal with that.
Overall (9):  I had a lot of fun with this game, more than Timeas Patch or Starforce Crossover.  All and all the difficulty is hard to pin down, ridiculously easy story fights, ridiculously hard post game fights.  But this is something that I enjoy, the difficulty curve is rather steep comparing story to post game but the difficult late game doesn't interfere with the easy early game.  If you want to just have fun being overpowered you can have fun playing through the early game.  If you enjoy challenge, you can have fun playing through the late game.  If you love collecting everything there's a lot more to find in this game.  The things that make the Battle Network Series so much fun are capitalized in this one game.  Of all the ROM hacks I've played this is one of my favorites; I just wish the stupid door in the graveyard would open.
