Great Game   Striving4better
I wonder how many quarters I spent on this as a child??? I would guess a couple of hundred! Seeing this game at my local arcade was a shock in itself, mostly
because it combined my love of Marvel comics and my enjoyment of
fighting games and it produced a great tag team based game with fast
paced combos. This game opened up a larger array of characters since it did not focus
solely on the X-Men, but rather the Marvel universe. That meant fans of
Captain America had a chance to be the WWII icon and “web-heads” got to
use Spiderman’s agility. The game also had Sakura and the laughably bad character Dan. In fact, I could remember
selecting Dan on accident and being extremely amused at the weakness of
his hadouken. I didn’t realize at the time that he was more of a joke
‘bragging rights’ character than a serious contender. Still, Dan allowed
for a certain amount of cockiness since a defeat at the hands of Dan
meant that your opponent was the joke. But what really interested me was the complexity of combos and hyper combos. I was used to simple combos, but this had air juggling combos, two different types of hyper combos per
character and a wide selection of fighters that would mean a different
approach for each player. Anyway this is a great game that brought back a lot of old memories of Friday and Saturday nights at the mall. The graphics are great (considering the time this came out) and the sound is addictive and just perfect for the game.

a amazing game for its time :D   SuperCrash64

sense marvel had their  own super hero V's villain fighting game it would figure cap com would just not like it so instead of a fan boy war we got the best of both game the marvel V's cap com series this is a basically marvel V's cap com game just with a different title it basically uses the same tag team formats that the marvel V's cap com series had. Anyways lets start this review
Graphics . The graphics are mainly based off street fighter alpha format for capcoms side of graphics . And marvel sides of graphics used their marvel super heroes . Which is a good thing considering this game was released in 1997 so it does look pretty well done . And I played through this game and noticed that cap com and marvel put some of their characters from x men and what not in the background .For Easter eggs in the game . Graphics get a 10 everything just seems picture perfect the animations and colors are vibrant  . Very well detailed with Easter eggs in backgrounds .
Sound The Game is just full of smash breaking sounds that are epic with your favorite marvel characters and cap com characters. The Soundtrack is also greatly done it does not have a lazy feel to it like street fighter alpha 3 . It sounds really nice and catches along with the games epic ways  . Sound gets a 10 although I wasn't around I guarantee this had many people pumped and ready to play this game over and over again
Addictiveness there is just a great display of smooth pw3ning animations and the neat combo based street fighter game with the good soundtrack and not to mention who does not like beating their hated marvel or cap com characters . This game has epicness around the entire game I wish there were 2 rounds in the match that's my only complain . So anyways addictiveness gets a 9 for this game
Story like other street fighter games you take on akuma or bison this game seems to releate a robotic like version of akuma . Which is kind of hard this story is pretty basic . So it gets a . 5 nothing really new to expect
Depth this game offers a ton of Easter eggs combos epic game play and a lot of characters .Even evil sakura and hidden stuff there is a lot of things you can find to play. Depth gets a 10 even when your done you can play against a buddy or friend of yours to a two player match .
Difficulty Well lets start off with controls control wise everything is perfectly balanced and responsive  you should be able to pull off every characters move just perfectly. Now computer foe  has the usual sf2 7 option of difficulty again this game is well balanced in difficulty unlike some other fighting games I have played. Difficulty gets the usual 5 well balanced which I like a lot .
Final verdict this game was released in the last few years of the 90s  and is still a great game to play even today I enjoy these games I really recommend this to anyone who needs a new challenge or experience in fighting games . So it gets a 9.8 I really wish there were more rounds but that's just me . More reviews coming soon

MARVEL HEROES AGAINST STREET FIGHTER CHARACTERS   punkrock85
Let's get one thing straight. I love Marvel Comics. In fact this game went a long way in defining the Marvel characters for me in the 90's. When I'd go to an arcade, I always spent time and a lot of money playing this game. It was because of this game that I started reading the Marvel comic books. The game was released for the arcade in 1997, Sega Saturn in 1998 and Sony PlayStation in 1999. This game appears to be ported from the arcade version as it tells you to insert coins.
As far as the game itself goes it is a perfect 10. What's not to love? It features some of my favorite characters and represents them pretty accurately too. The graphics and sound are typical of 90's arcade (and part of what makes this game so appealing). The levels are amazing looking. The addictiveness is off the map. You won't be able to play this just once. I promise you this, especially if you love Marvel or Street Fighter. There is very little story here, though I suspect we are supposed to believe that the Marvel guys got into it with the Capcom guys and that is the reason why we have these great battles. You can play as Blackheart, Captain America, Cyclops (I play best with him), Hulk, Omega Red, Shuma Gorath, Spiderman (my favorite character), Wolverine, Akuma, Chun-Li, Dan, Dhalsim (my favorite character to play on the Street Fighter side), Ken, Ryu, M. Bison and Sakura.  Akuma and Apocalypse serves as the final boss. It's a shame Blanka and Guile are not seen in the game. There are also secret characters in the game as well, including U.S. Agent and Armored Spider-Man. The gameplay is great. The controls are great as well (on the keyboard the controls are: Left Control, Alt, Spacebar and Left Shift with arrows moving the character). As far as depth goes, this game is considered middle of the road. There are 8 levels to beat and as mentioned before, Apocalypse and Akuma being the final bosses. Where difficulty is concerned, this game can be difficult when playing the ROM version as controls are limited to a computer. I actually just recently found this out from a friend: Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is the 4th Marvel Comics-licensed fighting game produced by Capcom.  It is a sequel to X-Men vs. Street Fighter which replaces most of the X-Men characters with characters from Marvel Super Heroes. The game uses the same tag-team format previously employed in X-Men vs. Street Fighter. In this port, you can use the new TURBO feature which makes special moves easier to do with each character. In addition to all the NEW features introduced, the player can now summon their partner to perform one of their special moves without changing their currently-controlled character. Very cool game that brings back a lot of nostalgia. If you are a fan of Marvel Comics, Street Fighter or Capcom characters in general, you should definitely play this now!

Lazy upgrade but a great game still   becerra95
Story time. This was one of two games I’ve encountered on a PSP back in 2012. It was a modded PSP with some games that were emulation. In the emulation I’ve seen one that said “CPSII” and thought it was like an 80s console emulator. I was so wrong when I clicked and saw what games they had to offer in that emulator. Dark Stalkers 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel vs Capcom : clash of super heroes and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. This review I’m going to go with the next fighting game of the series that I unintentionally started. This is Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter for Arcade (used on Emulation)
Story: 6
Apocalypse returns to destroy mankind and mutant kind alike and it’s up to the Street Fighter and Marvel Heroes (or villains) to team up and face the evil. Would you able to save the earth or let it be ruined?
The story is basically a rehash of the previous title (X-men vs Street Fighter) and it’s a bit lazy for me. They could’ve done a better job instead of creating a similar situation that they with Street Fighter II updates (Just updating the roster or mechanics but not the story)
It’s a 6 out of 10. Same story as the previous game. Lazy work.
Graphics : 7
The game consists of beautiful character models and stages but the issue… they’re mostly reused again from previous titles. Yeah some characters have new animations and moves which is a welcoming addition but wanted at least a visual upgrade from last year’s game to now. The animation is smooth as ever and the stages, some have been reworked from the previous title. The stages have more personality and feel more crowded than the last title and some cameos in the background are present.
The attract mode shows off the characters and new characters showing up and demos of characters fighting each other. Issue is the flashing lights and lightning make it hard for people who are photosensitive.
Not much to say. The graphics is a 7 out of 10. The game is beautiful no doubt but some stages are reused and character models haven’t changed which was the issue I had.
Sound : 9
The sound of the game is beautiful and most of the music has been reworked or remixed.
The sound effects sound a bit more clear and the narrator still has a bass that packs a voice. “WELCOME TO THE ADVENTURE” is what you’re greeted with when inserting your quarters and start the process of a catchy character select song while choosing your players.
The music, some are pretty good and iconic like Captain America and Shuma Gorath. Some have theirs remixed which are good but not as good as the original… example is Spider-Man and Ryu. Some have been reworked and just feels so off with a more orchestrated sound to it. Hit and bangers with a few misses but nothing negative.
The sound is a 9 out of 10. Music is great for the most part. Sound effects and voices are a lot better than the previous game.
Depth : 9
The game still offers and retains most, if not all, mechanics and features the previous titles has brought. One feature that has been added was “Variable assist” which brings out your player to attack with a special move, usually resulting to numerous variations and openings to create or extend a combo or attack. “Hyper Combos” are still present and also “Tag combos” which use 1 and 2 bars of gauge respectively.
Players returning to the game from Street Fighter side is Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Dhalsim, Zangief, M. Bison and Akuma with Sakura and Dan making their first appearance in the series. For the Marvel side, only two characters return from the previous game with Wolverine and Cyclops and new to the Vs series is Hulk, Blackheart, Spider-Man, Captain America, Shuma Gorath and Omega Red.
Game modes don’t have much to offer other than the arcade and the game is like the previous installment, two vs two fight where the first team to have both players health to zero or least amount when the timer goes to zero is the loser. The Vs. two player is always a great addition.
Overall it’s a decent 9 out of 10. Same mechanics as the last game.
Difficulty : 8
The game has a high difficulty spike than the previous title. Characters tend to block more and some new mechanics like the variable assist can cause some issues with gameplay. The “Ryu and Cyclops” combo from the previous game has been nerfed which is great. Balances have been made to make the game more enjoyable and the speed of the game has been lowered a bit. The final two bosses… cheap most of the time.
Difficulty is an 8 out of 10. Cheap blocks and counters with difficult last bosses.
Addictive : 9
Again the game is all about playing with other people. Lots of hours invested playing against one another. Game has some balances but still has some exploits that makes the game more entertaining than an hindrance. The fact of an expansive marvel universe is in use makes the game more enjoyable choosing your favorite heroes.
Arcade mode has some fun with trying to get an ending of each character and learning how to use them. Different play styles and combinations of tag teams also has some replay ability in the game.
Overall it’s a 9 out of 10. Same as the previous installment but it’s still very good.
Overall the game itself somewhat felt like a lazy upgrade with marvel characters instead of all X-men. Sprites haven’t changed much and stages are more so the same but with more features. Though the game is still very enjoyable to play but it’s probably a game that you can skip without much drawbacks.
My rating : 8.5 out of 10
