It's pretty good for a handheld title!   RedHotToddy
Ah Mario party, It is definitely a fun game to play with all your friends, All the fun minigames and things to do have what made Mario party an instant classic. We already had 3 games on the Nintendo 64, 4 games on the gamecube, And we finally have this one....Mario party advance for the Game boy advance. Will this one be as good as the console games, Or will it be a big blowout? Let's see...
Story-5/10
Uhhh....I don't really think there is a story to this game, I think toad just introduces you to the game mechanics and what there is to do then suddenly Bowser comes out of nowhere and scatters all of Professor E gadd's gadgets and Minigames, Then now It is up to Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi to retrieve everything and save the day....
Gameplay-7/10
In Mario party advance, There are a bunch of different modes to play through, I will explain all of them one by one, In shroom city, You will take the role of Mario Luigi Peach or yoshi As you travel around the city doing a bunch of quests and whatnot while traveling around a big board. In play land, you can play all of the minigames you have unlocked through the course of the game by yourself or with a friend. In party land you can play a bunch of minigames made by Toad and his sister toadette in order to earn alot of loot, These game includes Mini game attack, Game room, Duel dash and a whole lot of more. Now to be honest the mini-games in this game aren't that bad! Some games have you doing stuff like Walking a chain chomp to the goal, Or saving a bunch of monkeys from drowning in the sea. But one thing that did throw me off about the game, Some of the quests are impossible! Otherwise, That's pretty much All I can say about the gameplay, Minigames are fun though!
Graphics-8/10
To be completely honest, The first time I layed My eyes on the graphics in this game, I thought they were ripped straight From Mario and Luigi superstar saga, But It seems that they aren't! This game uses completely original sprites, and for what It is worth, It's not to bad! Same with the locales and places you'll be exploring, They are all bursting with color, Depth, and most importantly Atmosphere! And please note that this Is the Game boy advance, And they didn't do they bad with it, I mean all of the characters are easily recognizable and look like themselves! So that is is for the graphics!
Sound-7/10
Ok, When I started playing some of the minigames in this title, The first thing I noticed Is that A majority of the songs are ripped directly from Mario party 4, 3 and others! But this is not really a bad thing, As all of the songs are rendered pretty nicely, Considering the Game boy advance's limitations, For one, The minigame koopa crunch uses that one song from Mario party 4 in the minigame where you must catch the most butterflies before time runs out. As for the sound effects in this game, They aren't too bad as well, But sure they are your typical Mario stuff, But there are also no voices from the actual characters! That stinks, I mean if Wario land 4 can use voice vocals then why can't this game use them?
 Addictiveness-8/10
I must say, This game just completely sucked me in the first time I played it, I mean sure It doesn't have all of the same charm that The original Mario party games had, But It is still really fun! I had alot of fun play with My friend via link cable, Because the game is not all that fun by yourself, I also still came back to the game to complete all the quests in the shroom city, It seems impossible at first, But If you put your head up, Then you can complete it!
Depth-7/10
Ah the depth factor, The game offers quite alot for you to do, I already mentioned a majority of the game modes that you can play in the game, and that is quite fun, There are also the remaining quests you can do in case you have yet to actually complete them. But last but not least, There is the Multiplayer Via link cable, And I think that is the most fun that I have ever ever had with this whole game! I love playing multiplayer games with my friend! The game will probably last you about 4 -8 hours, And that is reasonable I guess.
Difficulty-6/10
Okay, Now to be fair here, The game is not really that hard actually! I mean sure some of the minigames and such can give you a hard time, But that doesn't mean the game is REALLY hard. Never did this game give me trouble (Except for some of those pesky town missions) But still, If you want a really challenging Mario game for the Game boy advance, I would say go with Mario and Luigi superstar saga, CACKELETTA'S SOUL! GRRRRR! HOW I HATE THAT BOSS FIGHT!
Overall-7.6/10
To be real, There are not a whole lot of party games to play on the Game boy advance, But if you ever happen to see this one, I suggest pick it up! I gave this game a 7.6 because How much fun It is and the amount of content that It offers for you! The game is pretty cheap these days also, I mean sure it was made in 2005, But these days the game goes for like 1 dollar in used game stores, But If you happen to see it, Pick It up right from the shelf or wherever you found it! So bye everybody! I have a big surprise review coming up later in the day! So stay tuned!

Mario Party Advanced: Doesn't Advance   kabenon007
The Mario Party series is a staple of Nintendo, first debuting on the N64, and quickly becoming a behemoth of a franchise, with iterations on every Nintendo system since, as well as holding the record for the longest running mini-game series around. Most of these games have taken place on consoles, where multiplayer could support a somewhat flimsy single-player mode. But on the GameBoy Advance, a device built for solo play, how will the Mario Party Franchise hold up on its own?
The answer is a mixed bag. To their credit, the developers of Mario Party Advance understood that there would have to be some fundamental changes in the game coming from a multiplayer-centric design ala the previous Mario Party games and going into a solo world. Gone are the competitions for coins and stars. Instead, you simply play to keep on playing, with each win in a mini-game adding to your stash of dice rolls so that you can move your character around the board (by him/herself) to tackle fetch or other types of quests (by him/herself). The challenge, then, of this game comes not from beating out your three other opponents, but from beating the clock, beating the computer, beating whatever obstacle is placed in your way throughout the course of your session. Each victory allows you more dice rolls which means a greater potential to complete the games multiple quests.
Yes, instead of collecting stars, Mario and his friends are out collecting and completing quests, such as "Bring me a DvD" (I'm not joking). This is where the majority of the game fell short for me. The minigames, as the case always is with a Mario Party game, are quite fun to play and these single-player outings are not worse for their lack of extra players. But as they serve simply as the means to obtain dice rolls, and the meat of the game is driving around the board completing the quests, I am left feeling bored as completing the most fun part of the game (the mini-games) means I get to spend more time with the least fun part (driving around and completing the quests).
An added bonus though are the myriad of gadgets that you collect by beating the quests, which for me was exciting to see what I would unlock next. Though this did remind me less of Mario Party and more of his nemesis Wario. The gadgets were more like that which you unlock over the course of the Warioware series.
They make a valiant effort to bring the Mario Party series to a single-player device, but in the end it falls short simply because of one thing, and it comes from the name: a party. It needs multiple people to be fun. That doesn't mean this game isn't fun at all; it's just not as fun as something else you could spend your time on.

Loved it and Hated it!   MissMisaX
Okay so I had never heard of this game until I came across it in vizzed. I went in blind with no idea what to expect.
Things I took note of:
1. I loved the way it looks. Its classic Mario put on a board game.
2. The game play was most self explanatory with a mini tutorial.
3. There wasn't really a story but there were different quests that made it interesting to complete and see what would happen.
4. I recognized 99% of the characters in the game itself. I thought that it was awesome that the game included all of the classic characters each with their own quest/game. Thumbs way up for that!
5. I took me three days straight to complete it. If you don't believe me I have the Twitch videos to prove it. The game itself is SO UNFORGIVING. It's basically based on chance/luck that Bowser and Koopa Kid don't total fudge you over the closer you get to the end. The rage is strong with this one.
I really did enjoy this game even though there were moments where it was complete BS and I got screwed over a lot. A challenging game that still keeps a simple game play style.

I hate the minigames where you have to click as fast as possible to race, they are way too hard, it's something that probably only Japanese people can do :P
