Knuckles Chaotix is one of those titles that looks good but never picked up popularty. Which is a bummer because this was a pretty good game for a 32X game.
The games graphics are fairly good. Although when the characters get larger or move closer to your face they look very pixely. The game however does take advantage of the amount of colors the 32X can handle.
The sound is great and the songs in the levels are very easy to remember.
This game is very addicting. In fact I play it more than any other 32X title. I don't know why it's addicting but for some reason the way the levels are set up makes me want to play more and more.
I think SEGA rushed with the story in this game because the story is super small I'll put it 5 simple words. Robotnik invades an amusement park. That'ts the lame story
I thought they would do a better job with the story, but I was wrong. :(
This game has a lot to offer. you have 5 characters to chose from. Knuckles, Mighty, Espio, Charmy, and Vector. You have 7 partner characters to chose from, all the ones I just listed, plus heavy and bomb. There is also 25 stages. 5 main stages with 5 stages in each of them. Plus a really bad special stage where you get the chaos rings and a really boring special special stage where you get rings and points.
The game is fairly easy and since there's no lives you don't have to worry about game overs. The reason why it's still a little difficult is because the two characters spin out of control when there in the air.

a bit long and a bit boring wizard_bobo
The game is simple to play , but some parts are insane! It seems like there is no end to the first level( I came off during then). I don't think that this game is very addictive, nor is it very good, but the graphics is good for its time. Overall, I have given the game a low 5.5, but it is mostly because of the game play and the story, but apart from that, I found it somewhat enjoyable(basically because I am a HUGE fan of Sonic The Hedgehog)

On the pathetically short-lived 32X with It's bad games that bit the dust, there's one truly memorable, It's called Knuckles' (Or Knux') Chaotix. For this review, and every review I will do, I will share my and only my experiences with the game, I have to be honest with my reviews, NO cussing, false facts, or dishonesty in this review. And one thing, people consider this game a spin-off series of the franchise but due the gameplay style, It's a Sonic game people! Let's get started!
Graphics: 10
The graphics are totally awesome, the bright colors and vibrant atmosphere tones the perfect graphics, you will see a colorful game here, the 32-bit expanded color pallette just sweetens the deal. The sprites are top-notch as well, the sprites are well polished with a touch of full detail within the graphics. The animations take up less frames but looks smooth and definitely worth your time. The graphics can really show what the 32X is capable of like, sprites coming at your face or away from you, 3d polygonic graphics with textures at a high FPS and many more capabitilites as well. And finally, the day-night transition packs ambience into the graphics, making Sonic's world oh so colorful!

The sound will blow your mind as well, almost, and I mean ALMOST all the tracks are very catchy to hum to. Seriously, there's no reason to not hum or bop to this music. But, I wish it was more catchy like in Sonic 3 and Knuckles, because well, very few of the tracks I can't hum to and are not catchy at all. :( but :D
Gameplay: 8
There are 5 characters to choose from, 7 if stage select. Knuckles is just as acrobatic as in the Genesis games, he can glide and climb walls but is a bit faster in this game.
Vector can apparently double his jump and climb walls, but, with a different control scheme. Espio is the fastest character and can run on walls and ceilings without any some sort of speed. Mighty is just like Sonic but Ninja Gaiden-like wall jump that can be a one-walled wall jump. Charmy is the best character of all, but I can't seem to play him as much... Anyways, Charmy is the only one that can fly, at first It's hovering only down but dash all around the place and NEVER GET'S TIRED!!! :D Heavy is the worst character and can be a nightmare when he's YOUR PARTNER, he is the heaviest and slowest of the bunch. Bomb has NOTHING special about him and is slower than Knuckles but, when you are near him and he gets hit, he explodes with a bigger blast radius than the enemies. Each character, (except Heavy and Bomb) has their own spin-dash that is slow, but, you and your partner are tethered together with tethering rings, and for the first time ever in Sonic history, each button is assigned to a different action, if you use the B and C buttons wisely the tethering actually works quite well, and your partner can't run off the screen either, but it can be very wonky at time, and when paired up with heavy, It can get sloppy.
Story: 7
To tell you the truth, with my experiences with the Sonic Archie Comics, and Sonic the Comic. Knux' Chaotix actually has a story. The story is about the special stage istelf. What lies deep in Mobius is the Grand Holy Chaos Ring that connects the special stage to the world of Mobius that held the existence of the Chaos Emeralds, but one day, the Grand Holy Chaos Ring was shattered into seven pieces throughout the special stage. Sonic and Tails went to South Island to defeat eggman and regain the Holy Ring, but Dr. Robotnik used the Grand Holy Chaos Ring to defeat Sonic and Tails and succeeded, Tails was held in the dungeons, and Sonic was roboticized into the new Metal Sonic. Meanwhile on Angel Island, Knuckles went out for a hike, and saw Robotnik trying to roboticize Espio, Knuckles freed Espio from the roboticizer and in return Espio gave Knuckles the tethering ring. Robotnik flees the Island with the Help of Metal Sonic. Espio tells Knuckles about the Chaotix, a group of freedom fighters carrying out Sonic's work. Their hiding place was a high school in South Island called Newtrogic High Zone, and now It's up to Knux and the Chaotix to end Robotnik's tyranny and Save the Special Stage, South Island, and the Entire world of Mobius including the Chaos Emeralds.

The game has a lot to offer, 5 characters to choose from, a crane machine to decide your partner, and a slot machine to decide the stage in gameplay. The 5 zones are Botanic Base, Speed Slider, Marina Madness, Techno Tower, and Amazing Arena each zone has 5 "levels" or acts, The boxes can now do something to you and your combination, (or partner) like growing, shrinking, switching, and changing the partner, all for a temporary amount and at the bottom of the screen, it even shows what kind of powerup you have. The training mode let's you practice on Angel (Isolated) Island, and the levels pack creativity in the gameplay, and day-night transition. The special stages are a complete obstacle course where you have enough blue spheres to get to chaos ring, Being in the special stage is like being Super Sonic, so If you don't get enough rings before the checkpoint, it will force you to it again, and NOTHING regenerates.
Addictiveness: 8
Not much to say, due to what I wrote above this line, the game can keep you in forever until you get tired of it.
Difficulty: 6
The difficulty is due to how awesome the game really is. The difficulty in the levels is slightly easy and the bosses are a meh. The level design is designed in a weird, weird way, the levels are NOT linear but more path-like, if you don't know what you're doing, you're most likely to mess up and go to dead ends, especially in Amazing Arena where the level is a maze! If you keep going toward the path, It leads you to the exit. The final boss is hard when you don't know what your doing AND when you have the wrong combi.
Overall: 8.8/10 "Great"
Knux' Chaotix is a great game on the Sega 32X, The graphics and amaze players, the sound is great most of the time, the gameplay is awesome on some aspects the story is bigger that Sonic CD and sounds like a tough adventure, The Depth is big, and it has a great addictiveness. But seriously, make the tethering style a little better to even out the physics, and the level design should've been straightfoward. Knuckles' Chaotix is a fun game for a system like this. I really enjoyed it. It is just like Sonic games. I really liked this game cause it is a different type of Sonic game. The game is probably one of the most popular games on Sega 32X. Very interesting to play. It was not very popular these days, but in the past it was. It should have been on other console because the Sega 32X did not last long and ended very shortly. I suggest that they should have made the game from other consoles like SNES and Genesis. Other than that, the game is able to be played on this site, which is a very good idea. The game play is something that people would enjoy playing it as.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are very well-made. It shows great effects and good 3D structures. What I liked is when Chaotix (the purple guy) would fly onto the screen and come back next to Knuckles when you call him. That really freaked me out. The images on the characters were very well-made.
Sound - 9
The sound is good too. It sounds exactly like the games for Sonic. Nothing else to say about that.
Addictiveness - 6
I would probably play this again, just don't have the time to play lots of games, but I would try. This game has some strategic ways of playing it if you are stuck. I wonder if it would be more fun to play it if it had 2 players in it.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game. I really tried looking for it, but I am guessing that you are to stop Eggman and Metal Sonic and retrieve the emeralds that were stolen and also save friends in the game. That is basically it I assume.
Depth - 7
The game shows a lot of things to do in it and has a lot of levels. You use two people in the game and you just have to work together to get far into the game. Most of the things in this game are related to the other Sonic games like collecting rings and such. There is also bonus stages, which of course is also in other Sonic games, that are really interesting to play.
Difficulty - 6
The game is sort of hard. The speediness is not my thing, but it sure is surprising to see what will come next. I think that the pulling part to get more speed takes so long to do.
Wrap Things Up...
Knuckles' Chaotix on the Sega 32X was made for people who enjoy playing as Knuckles. I recommend trying this game out. It is like a remake of Sonic, but only better and more different. If you think that this game is not fun and you have not played it, your wrong. :)

Chaotix,I remember playing this with a friend who owned the 32X system back in the day.
Each level is filled with plenty of bright appealing colours as you run through each stage.
The music is catchy,brings back that Sega nostalgia for me,I always preferred the music on the Megadrive than the SNES.
The game itself wasn't too hard or too easy the majority of the time you can easily find the exit.
The bonus stage was a nice addition,it was pretty hard but not as hard as Sonic CDs destroy the UFOs in the time limit.
Bosses were interesting,as well as frustrating they felt similar to CD.
The rubberband ability was a interesting gimmick but sometimes it was annoying to navigate certain stages when you end up flying around unintentionally.
Storywise its the same old kind of thing, Dr Robotnik is up to no good with Metal Sonic & you got to stop him.
Being able to pick which member of the Chaotix crew to take with you was a nice touch,as well as being able to use their unique abilities,I enjoyed their adventures in the Sonic the Comic series.
Stages were fun to run around in but it got repetitive as you have to clear each stage 5 times & being unable to pick the stage you want was annoying. Ok the slot machine like mechanics for the stage
select & the Metal Sonic boss was different but unnecessary in my opinion.
It was fun to play but Sonic 3 & Knuckles will always be the best Megadrive era Sonic game to me.
Chaotix comes 3rd place under to Sonic 2/CD.
It would be great if this game along with the rest of the 32X library was re-released on PC/PS4 etc. I recommend every fan of the Sonic series should play this once.

Knuckles Chaotix: Best Game on 32X. sonic123amy1
Hello, I am going to start this review from Difficulty to Overall. As its easier. Here we go!
Difficulty: I'll rate this a seven because....Bomb and Rock are just plain annoying and make the game 10x harder for you. Also [/spoiler] Mega Metal Sonic's boss fight, I cannot forget THAT ONE STAGE WITH THE LIGHTS that's the hardest and grueling zone in the game. Anything other than that besides a few of the Stage 5 on the 5 Zones, its pretty easy. (Rlly this coming from a 13 year old?) Although I cannot lie this game has a difficulty rating as Sonic1 was for me when I was 6. I don't like the Call command, as that makes you lose 10 rings. That also boosts difficulty as well. Anyways, the difficulty would be a 10 to 8 for younger players unless they're REALLY good at video games. Moving on!
Depth: Ill rate this a seven *again* because first things first, the Music Creator reminds me of Wario Ware DIY's Music Creator, as that one particular thing has UNLIMITED possibilities. Also the Special Stages (cannon) are unique and not found in any other sonic game, unless if you count the 3D stage in Sonic 3. What I'm saying how much depth there is to this game is Indescribable.
Story: Before I even start, I actually KNOW the plot. I rate this a 6 BECAUSE the plot isn't that long, game and background terms alike. Ok now I start: Knuckles is patrolling Angel Island when he sees that his buddy Espio has been captured by Eggman and put in the Robotsizer (cannon), Luckily Knuckles saves Espio, BUT OH NO! WHATS THIS? Eggman put an elaborate trap and now, Knuckles and Espio (or any other partner) are bound together by two magical Super Rings (cannon) and Eggman has been creating a huge amusement park filled with dangers and such and its up to Knuckles and Co, to stop Eggman!
Gameplay: As stated in the story, magical super rings bind together you and your partner. This introduces a new and unique tether mechanic to the game. Many new moves can be performed by this, as the tutorial shows you 'how' to perform them. The iconic Spindash stays in the game, as it wouldn't be a Sonic game without it. The game can be more fun/irritating when playing Co-Op which can be done through Netplay. Now some characters have Special Moves such as Vector and Espio can walk on walks, but only Vector can walk on ceilings. Knuckles can climb up walls but not ceilings, his glide also stays too. Mighty is basically Sonic, no special moves sadly. Now for the most broken character whom makes the game a cake walk *drumroll* Charmy! Charmy the Bee cannot jump, but he can fly by pressing the jump button, you can do this as many times as you want, he really helps with getting stages done without trying. The Special Stages as mentioned earlier have Chaos Emeralds, you need to collect them all to get a 'good' ending, if not you get the 'bad' ending. I rate this a 10, because its the best game.
Addictiveness: I really like this game, alot. I worship Sonic and this is hands down, easily the best game on the 32X. Everything about this game is magical as Sonic CD. Its the best.
Sound: Easy 10, play ANY other 32X on this site and you will easily hate is, because I actually don't like them. Anyways that doesn't matter, MY opinion doesn't matter. But the soundtrack is as good as Sonic CD easily.
Graphics: Same as before, easy 10. Any other game's Graphics aren't that good and these Graphics are as good as Sonic CD as mentioned earlier.
Overall: This is the best game on the 32X easily, I do admit that Addictiveness, Sound, Graphics I did not have much to say on, nor I have much to say here. But I want to say something to all Admins, Trusted, Site Staff, and Davideo7. I completely appreciate all the roms, code and hard work that you made to create Vizzed. Thank you.
