One of my all-time favorite classics!   mariahurdler
Graphics-10: To start off, the graphics of this game are one of the most amazing I have ever seen especially when taking into consideration that the game was released in 1995 (on the SNES. It was first released for arcade in 1994, also the year I was born :) Although the graphics where a lot better in the arcade version the backgrounds, settings, and characters are still very detailed! You could especially see how the battle settings were something they really put a lot of focus into. The details the creators were able to put in are what makes the game even better, everything looks pretty much real even the places you know can't be real (such as the places with lava on the ground of coarse.) Another great thing about the graphics is the combos and special effects the characters have! This game is Street fighter and Mortal Combat COMBINED. The combos look hardcore and crazy (in a good way though.) The better the combo the crazier it looks. In the end of a battle the character about to win gets to decide how they want to finish off his or her opponent. Not to mention, the effects on the character are also crazy! There is a robot who looks futuristic, a skeleton that looks real just like the ones you see in museums, of course don't forget a man who is actually made out of fire, and many more!
Sound-10: The sounds are also one of the best parts of the game! Each character has their own theme sound that fits them perfectly, some characters even have voices that I would say fits them just right as well. They each have several different noises they make every time they get injured and every time they perform a combo. Also, the announcer of the game has a deep loud voice which makes it fairly easily to understand and hear. He also announces what type of combo one of the characters just performed. The last thing about sound is the background music, it gets pretty catchy and they seem to fit the setting as well (the creators focused on this a lot too considering they even created a CD to go with it.) The game came with a bonus CD (Killer Cuts) that included the full versions of every characters theme song plus a "secret" track. I was lucky enough to obtain one and luckily I still do.
Addictiveness-9: The game is simply one you will NOT want to turn your back to because it’s fun and challenging! Once you start fighting you keep fighting until you are able to reach the top and beat the most challenging opponent. Other than wanting to win, you will also spend a lot of time trying to figure out combos and most importantly trying to master them. Once you feel ready or feel like you have improved your moves, you will want to get back out there to fight your way to the top (maybe just to beat your record.) I had this game back when I was a little kid and kept playing it until eventually my Super Nintendo broke down, years later (recently) I was looking up websites where I could play it and Voila! I ended up in this website, the only website I was able to find it in (THANK YOU VIZZED!!)
Story-8: If I say the story then I would be spoiling it, something I’m not planning to do! In order to find out the story behind each character and to find out how every character connects you have to defeat the “boss”(defeat him with every single character by the way.)
Depth-6: Although this game is one of my favorite, it really does not have any depth in it. It’s a typical game you will find at an arcade, it was developed from an arcade game actually. The only thing you could do throughout the whole game is fight but then again remember it’s an old game and old games didn't offer as much as the games from today do. This game includes the one player mode in which you fight your way to the top against the computer. It includes the two player mode, (the name says it all) you could battle a friend. It includes a tournament option in which you could have round battles against seven other friends. Lastly, the game also has a practice mode. That is probably where you will spend time trying to figure how to perform combos.
Difficulty-10: I found this game quite difficult, by this I’m refereeing to how the opponents get a lot more difficult to beat by the end of the game and also finding out the right buttons to press to perform at least one little combo. In this game the opponent has no pity for you; it will take so many tries just to beat the "meanest" guy of all. The hardest character to beat is able to pull his life percentage back up and it's nearly impossible to beat if you keep using the same combos and strategies. I guess you could say it's like trying to beat someone that keeps cheating. The other thing is, trying to do one little combo is not so simple. Buttons have to be pressed in the correct order and at a quick pace in order to perform a combo, this is hard because up to four buttons may be needed to do one little combo. It takes a huge amount of time and practice to finally get combos and learn how to use them. What’s harder is that one combination of buttons is not the same for other characters, so obviously it takes even longer to master more than one character. Another thing about learning how to perform combos is that you need to be precise and time yourself and also aim at the opponent correctly in order to be able to perform the combo. You could say that mastering the controls is what makes this game fairly difficult.
Overall-10: The most important thing and also object of the game is the combo system! In order to defeat this game you have to learn how to master combos and also be precise in timing them! Without that you have a rare chance of winning. The game itself is simply amazing, there was so much focus and detail put into every bit of the game! It looks amazing and it also sounds amazing! Every little bit of the game is piece of artwork, hope you enjoy it!

Killer Instinct review   Yona_db
Killer Instinct is a fighting video game, was the first project by the company Nintendo in this genre. The game was originally thought to Ultra 64, and breaking a tradition of taking only games for consoles, the company surprised to get the 1994 arcade game.
As a curiosity, the game was initially called "Brute Force", was the name Werewolf Sabrewulf and named Cinder Meltdown in the first prototypes of the game.
The graphics are amazing for a 16-bit console.
- Very similar to the arcade game.
- Excellent sound.
- One of the best fighting games for snes.
but some movements are similar to other games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
Jago movements are similar to Ryu from Street Fighter.
Orchid movements are similar to Chun Li.
and fatality is part of the game Mortal Kombat.
but still this game will remain one of the best SNES games.

This is the best fighter of any ever.   Juggahooves
This game was the best game of all my child hood games. I never want this game to change, I have thought that they might give it one modern shot, but that might ruin this game for me. The graphics for it's time could match wits with donkey Kong country. The theme is going to hold throughout time, it was the only game I could beat my cousin "big brother" at and was awesome with it's announcer. The story and depth were a little shallow, being that it only had an ending story for the characters, but it was defiantly hard. Once I got to idol, it was all over and then I discovered spinal. He is defiantly my best.

Killer Instinct Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.3
Killer Instinct on the SNES is sort of like a Mortal Kombat game.  I have this game on this very day, which means that I have played it a long time ago.  I do not know how I got this game, but I assure you what got me into getting this game is probably the game cover.  It looked so awesome.  I really enjoyed playing this game a lot.  It is a fighting game and the characters are cool.  If I never have gotten this game, I would probably have never heard of this game before.
Graphics - 9
The graphics are amazing.  It has mild blood with different colors from different people.  The game looks a bit okay.  I think that some of the people look a little messed up.  The effects are pretty cool.  Some have intense effects when they do a special move and some just have very fast combos.
Sound - 8
The sounding is very good.  More like Mortal Kombat if you ask me.  There is that person talking that will say when the battle starts and sometimes name the person you choose (just like Mortal Kombat).  The sound effects are pretty good, but it is just weird that you would hear the same noise when you use an attack move.  There is only like 2 or 3 different "hiya" sounds from one person and that is alright I guess.
Addictiveness - 7
I played this a lot now and it still is fun.  What is fun to do is make combos and do cool moves on your opponent.  This game should have been remade on the PS2 or something cause this is very awesome.
Story - N/A
I am sure that there is no story in this game.  It is basically Mortal Kombat, like I said, and you just fight your way to the end of the game.  I have beaten the game before and I think it just says "Congratulations, play on a harder difficulty."  It may have said that, but I just stopped playing once I beaten it.
Depth - 8
The game has a lot to offer.  For instance, you can change up to 5 or 6 colors on each of your characters and there is like 10 to 15 characters that you can use.  It is a lot of fun and best of all, you can play with your friends on it.  Verse each other and do some sweet combos and moves that you would not think to try.
Difficulty - 5
I have got to say, this game can be difficult, even on the easiest difficulty.  First of all, it is hard to make moves on some people and some of them are easy to make moves.  There was one person that I used and you had to like hit right, down, left, and a certain button very fast.  That is crazy.  When you play 1-player, the opponents are kind of hard, but it can be tricky some of the time.  I cannot beat the game that easily out of how many times I have played it.
Wrap Things Up...
Killer Instinct is a game you have got to love.  I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already, especially those who love playing fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighters. :)

there were not a fighting games at the time that were better then mortal kombat. but this one for sure is one of those games that stands toe to toe with mk if not better. the combos are amazing and the fact that you get whats called a ultra combo that is a combo finisher that will allow you to hit the character up to 20+ times. over all this a a great game. if you are a huge mortal kombat fan the only thing that might let you down about this game is the teen rating. no its not the bloodiest game, but it does have some blood and good finishers. there area also stages were you can knock them off a building which is not bloody but really cool.

This game is the best fighting game to me. The creators did good with the graphics at this time. The music the sounds the people made how fast they fight its all unique nobody else made a game like this. I grew up playing this game and I still don't see anything wrong with this game. I have the new mortal kombat on xbox 360 and I admit that game is really good but I think if they made a new killer instinct I think more people are going to pick killer instinct over mortal kombat. I think a lot of people would agree with me on that too. Like I said these characters are unique. You don't hear that much about them but you here something about scorpion and sub zero from mortal kombat all the time gamers are going to want something new. Mortal kombat is the same thing over and over and over again even the same fatalities. When the creators make a killer instinct I hope they do a real good job and show what killer instinct is all about.

Do You Have The Instinct   xXCHUCKXx86

Killer Instinct in my opinion could have been more successful than the comparable Mortal Kombat series. The problem with it is that no one ever really heard of it. There was even a 2nd Killer Instinct game with minor changes to characters and levels just like in Mortal Kombat. The 1st Killer Instinct was far superior to the 1st Mortal Kombat. With its graphics, sound effects, and its fast paced combo attacks.

Combos didn't even come into the mix for mortal combat until the 3rd game. Killer instinct has many levels of combos ranging from 3 Hits- Over 20 hit combos called ULTRAS. Once you enemies health bar is just about down to what would be "danger" in the Mortal Kombats the character gets a wobbling affect, this is when you can pull out your ULTRA Combos giving the appearance of your enemy being beaten senseless. You also have the choice of doing your finisher just like in Mortal Kombat. There are special levels as in MK II like the pit or the acid. All the characters have different button combinations for combos and they have special abilities/ moves. Some of the characters combos are a bit harder and more complex than others, but most of the button combinations are just variations of other characters combinations. The characters with more complex combos Jago, Glascious, and Fulgore, Characters with easier combos, Cinder, Combo, and Orchid.
The graphics are great with being able to pick 3-4 different color outfits for each character, you don't have to put in any code for blood to show up. Each character also has their own sound affects and will even taunt the other player if you leave them idle for a few seconds. I'll just leave it at if your were/are a big fan of The MK series, you have to try the faster paced, more intense, visually & audibly awing game KILLER INSTINCT!

Pretty neat, I still own it on the snes and play it every once in a while, now I play it with ZSNES emulator online more often these days using HAMACHI.

to do jago's moves, u have to press the directional buttons left, down, and right all in order. u have to time button mashing right or u wont be able to do them. do left, down, right for sword combos. same for doing the back summersault kick combo
