This game may seem unplayable but it is not. What you do when it says Press Test Switch to Continue, press F2 on your keyboard. The Plugin will ask if you want to use a save state, press Esc key to decline. It will bring up the test menu. Press 1 to make the selection when asked. Choose save and exit twice. Then choose Game Mode and off you go to play the game.

 Made it work by going into service mode & messing with the game settings. Keeps lagging though & gets stuck when the yellow planet in the background shows up.

 Aw man...game isn't working. Wish I had a PS2 and G3&4 or a PSP and Gradius Collection. But anyway, soundtrack isn't the most fitting but still excellent like always! Just like the games themselves.

 hmm.. that wasn't a problem with the old version of MAME. Test switch = Ctrl + F7. You'll have to mess around with the options in that menu

 Hey Diamond, keep in mind Gradius IV came out BEFORE V. Like, 3 years before. The graphics are fine to me anyway.
