Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden danseg
What can be tell of this game, the first of its kind. Super Butouden has many to offer. The game was released in 1992, it changed the way how Dragon Ball Games were, the first ones were like kind of RPG where you decided which card(movements) you wanted to use.
Grapichs:
To be the first of its kind, it has good graphics, we all know a game like Donkey Kong for The SNES where the graphics are amazing. This one not at all, I supposed that because no one expected this that Bandai Games made a game with more less graphics.
Sound:
The sound, WOW! When you start the game, you hear Goku saying something in Japanese, but it is comprehensible, the intro, the menu music are Cathy, music during the battles are exiting and exceptional. Every character has his own music, during the battles you can perfectly hear Goku saying Kame Hame HA, or shouting. It is really impressive listening them, and while the music is on, the battles are more exciting.
Addictiveness: If you are those you don't quit the game easy, then this game is a challenge. The difficulty of the game makes it more addictive, even on level normal the game is hard, and then you don't quit the game until you have beaten your enemy.
Story: Well the game follows the anime, we begin in the Tenkaichi against Piccolo and it ends when Perfect Cell. But it is not complete, for example, when the Sayins arrive we don't fight against Nappa or Raditz. N°17 is not in the game, or is it N°16, I don't know the robot with black hair. The game makes you to follow the anime, choosing our character chosen in the anime. For example you can't fight against N°18 with Goku, because in the anime Goku does not fight against her. If you do that the game will not continue. But it does not matter only chose a character that was in that battle and that's it.
Depth: For being the first one, there are many options, like you can do tenkaichi against a mate, or the CPU, you can do simple battle's against mates or the CPU. It has a lot to offers to us, it even has a menu of special movements where you can learn how to do a Big Bang Attack or double kick, etc.
Difficulty: Well that a BIG challenge, this is not a simple game, to begin with, fighting is very hard, on level normal! Fighting body vs body is very hard because the CPU always protect itself and when you want to attack it attacks you first. Special moves are too hard to do. I don't know if I sucks on it, but doing simple attack is very hard, a KameHame HA is very hard, and in the time you try to do it, you opponent has already done a special move that will eliminate you. If you are complaining about the difficulty of the Ultimate Budokai, then this game will give you a real challenge. Be sure you have practiced before starting the history mode. If not you will be screwed.
PS : forgive me my writing, this is my first review.

A DBZ game that actually does the series justice? Count me in! RedHotToddy
After all of these years you could say the dragon ball z could possibly be one of the greatest animes ever, I mean look how much merchandise this anime has spawned! Movies, toys, action figures, books, you name it! Yes the series even got alot of video games, I mean look how much we have for today's consoles, but the one I am going to be looking at today is for the super Nintendo, And well yeah, that is it, This is dragon ball z super botouden for the SUPER Nintendo! (Haha! See what I did there?) Anyways, let's start.
Story-N/A
I don't really know if there is supposed to be an actual story to the game, considering it is just a tournament fighter, But the game actually does have a story, But I can't even tell what it supposed to be going on because all of the text is Japanese! (Yes If I am correct the game was only released in Japan) But oh well, games with big stories are supposed to make up for alot of words in a review, but yeah, Let's just get on to the actual gameplay.
Gameplay-7/10
Dragon ball z super botouden is a fighting game of all sorts, and It is quite a simple one to say the least, when you first start off the game you will have over 3 different modes to play in, And here they are, Story mode has you playing through the game as if it is an actual episode of the show, tournament mode has you fighting through multiple waves of enemies through a championship in order to become the actual champion, and last but not least, there is the free-fight mode, this mode lets you pick out a character from the DBZ franchise and beat the snot out of your opponent! The controls are simple for a fighting game, You use D-pad to move, A to punch, B to kick, and I do not think the other buttons do anything. The fighting system in the game makes up for some hefty violence, Pressing certain buttons in a very hectic fashion will have you doing a fierce combo that will deal tons of damage to your opponent, where the game borrows from is from other fighters at the time, Kill instinct, mortal kombat, but just without any blood or whatnot! There are alot of characters from the show, including goku, vegeta, picollo, frieza, etc. Anyways, that is it for the gameplay.
Graphics-7/10
If I remember correctly, the game was released in 1995, and for the time being the game looks actually really good! Considering it is a Japan-only title, All the levels and worlds you will be exploring are taken directly from the Dragon ball z franchise, and they all look very good, bursting with polish, charm, and tons of color. Now as for the characters, they really look like their TV counterparts! Goku still has his orange jumpsuit and spiky black hair, Vegeta still has his blue jumpsuit and white gloves, Picollo is still and green and wears some sort of dark blue jumpsuit, and so on. The menus are pretty easy to navigate through, But I had a little trouble translating everything because the game is in Japanese! But it is no big deal, the HUD in each fight is pretty self explanatory, It shows you and your opponent's health, the time left in the match, and That is really it.
Sound-7/10
Right off the bat you get goku yelling some Japanese quote then the game itself starts, you are greeted with some very nice DBZ like music that really fits what you are going to get into, In fact all the music in this game sounds like something that you would hear in the show! And that is a huge plus, all the songs in each level and arena of the game sound very action packed and SNES-like, that is one thing for sure that the game does justice in, Trying to make us feel that we are in the Dragon ball z universe! Now as for the sound effects, well, they are all taken from different fighting games, like you have punches, kicks, booms, and a bunch of others. The music can get a little repetitive, but it is no problem.
Addictiveness-8/10
I remembered my first time playing this game, It sucked me right in with it's titular characters, action packed levels, and all of that other Dragon ball z stuff! I didn't take this game out of my super Nintendo for a while because I knew the game just had oh so much to it that you don't ever want to leave it alone. The game feels like dragon ball z, looks like dragon ball z, sounds like dragon ball z, yes you guys get the point!
Depth-7/10
As I have said earlier, the game offers 3 distinctive game modes to it, and here they are, Story mode, championship mode, and free-fight mode. I have only played the story mode a couple of times, and for what it is worth, It is actually a tad long! It is over 6 stages so you can probably beat it in about 15 or so minutes. The game has alot going for it and I can easily tell because it has everything that a dragon ball z fan could possibly want!
Difficulty-6/10
The game shouldn't give you that much trouble, I mean there is a difficulty setting ranging from easy to hard, and I usually play on normal mode because I am quite a master at these kind of games, but if you are a true expert gamer, then eh, the game shouldn't make you scream or anything.
Overall-8.5/10
I am really amazed by how much effort and thought that they put into this game! I thought the game was going to be a really terribly done fighter, but what we got was a nice clean fun challenging and playable fighter that is worth quite possibly all of your time! And those are the reasons why I gave the game an 8.5, anyways, this has been my 99th review, and I have a special surprise coming oh so soon later! Anyways, this has been RedHotToddy, and I am signing off! I will see you guys later in my 100th annual review on vizzed board!
