Chrono trigger review   SacredShadow
Hey guys! Today I will be reviewing the game chrono trigger which is a very popular and awesome RPG that came out on the SNES in 1995. This game really made you really want to get an SNES because it was just that great of a game and I consider it one of the best RPGs of its time, and it still is one of the best as of today. I have never seen a game with more depth and a more vivid and interesting storyline, many of the features of this game are impeccable and unmatched which is why a lot f them have perfect scores. Now then, enough of my senseless babbling, lets get on to the review now shall we? So sit back, relax and enjoy it!
Graphics: 9
Perhaps one of the best features of this game are the amazing graphics, they are just amazing. The sprites for everything are really clear and nice looking, the characters and the monsters and everything are very well done. Considering how long this game has been out, the graphics are really good when you take that into account. Overall, the graphics of this game are very well done and are still really good today in my opinion, so I scored them a 9 just because of how nice and clear the sprites and everything else looks. From every little thing in the game, the scenery, the dungeons, the forests, everything is detailed and is nicely put together. For its time period, the graphics were amazing and I still think they are today, they are clear, realistic and sharp. Some games of today aren't even this clear quality wise!
Sound: 10
Another great part of this game, it deserves the credit for sound because the soundtracks of this game are simply amazing. The soundtracks here are just classic, I cannot stress how great the music from the soundtracks in this game are. The great graphics and the amazing soundtracks combine for an awesome game, so that is why I scored it a 10 because such awesome sound and I personally think it has some of the best music in all of Super Nintendo. It is really that great and that is why it is worthy of receiving a 10. The sound and music tracks in this game are fantastic and they are perhaps some of the best and most unique from any game I have played, so that is why I scored them a 10, because they are original and they sound great, each track is different for each area you reach which is pretty cool. The sound is very catchy and there are just some really great soundtracks on this game, and it is a big part that contributes to why this is such a great game and perhaps one of the best of all time.
Addictiveness: 10
There are a lot of possible endings to this game, 12 in all, this really makes it unique because you can't predict how it is going to end because there are several ways to beat it, so because of the variety of ways for the game to end, it makes it very addicting and highly re-playable because if you beat it one time, you can always play it again another time and get a different story ending which is pretty cool and it contributes ti the game being addicting, because there are a variety of ways to end the game off. So because it has so many ways to end off, I scored it a 10 which is appropriate just because you are motivated and eager to see how else the game can possibly end off, thus you become addicted to the game, so it has a high replay value. It is just a game that you can play over and still enjoy because it isn't like most games with one ending and you can just predict what will happen and grow bored of it. This game is various when it comes to all of the possibilities in which the game can end . So because of the many possible ways you can beat the game, it makes it more exciting and leaves you wanting more, thus it is more addicting.
Story: 10
Okay, so the setting of the game takes place in a world similar to that of Earth and the protagonist characters travel through time to get allies and equipment in order to survive and help them on their quest. At times, the game can be complex and other times it can be really simple. There are 7 characters you can play as in the game, Crono, Marle (or princess Nadia) Lucca, Robo, Alya, Frog and lastly Magus. These characters all come from a different era or time period in history, but nevertheless, they work together. The story starts off in the year 1000, when Marle and Crono watch Lucca and their father demonstrate their new teleporter device at the fair. To sum it up, Marle volunteers to be teleported and her pendant interferes with the device and it creates a time portal taking her back in time. I think the story and plot of this game is pretty amazing, and like I said, at times it can be a bit complicated, but it can also be really simple as well. But because of the interesting story and plot of the game, I scored it a 10 which seems more than appropriate.
Depth: 10
This is one of the few games I have given a perfect score for depth to. It is mostly because it can end in many ways making it unpredictable and it leaves you wanting more. So it is not just one of those games you play and after finding out the way it ends and beating the game, you just put it back on the shelf to collect dust. There are 12 different ways to end the game which I think makes it more fun and re playable because there are just a variety of ways to end it off and it really makes the game unique in a sense, because you don't know exactly how it will end. This game certainly offers a lot depth wise, there is just a lot going for it, you can end it of in many different ways which will leave you wanting more and you will be eager to complete the story and beat it in one of the different ways. I think this really sets it apart from most games that just end off in one way and you already know what happens and how things end, which is not the case with this game, at least not if you take the time to enjoy it because this game leaves you with hours of awesome game play and after playing it for just a few days, I was really hooked and even more so once I beat it one way, I tried to start and beat it in a different way! So because of the uniqueness and the many ways you can beat the game, and how much it offers, and leaves you wanting more which is what I think every good game should aim to do. So that is why I scored it a 10. It is rare for games to have multiple ways of ending, let alone awesome ones like Chrono trigger. So I definitely think this game offers a lot as far as depth goes. I spent about a month on this game and so far I have beat the game with about 19 or 10 of the possible story endings. So it may take some time depending on how good you are with RPGS, but I can safely say that this isn't the type of game you beat in 5 minutes and never play again.
Difficulty: 5
If you are experienced with RPG games, then this will be a piece of cake for you and it won't even be that difficult. But if you are more casual when it comes to gaming, then it will be a little more challenging, but nevertheless, it is not extremely difficult to beat this game. It is not as bad as other Enix Square games which are a lot more difficult and challenging, so this game is pretty easy in comparison. Granted it will be a little tricky or challenging at times, but all games are like that and that is no reason to quit or give up. Plus it would be no fun if the game was supper easy and there was nothing that challenged you right? No one wants a boring game where everything is easy and simple, all games should try to be a little difficult or challenging at some point. Overall though, it is not that difficult, I am not even a hard core gamer and I still beat this game without too much trouble. So it isn't that hard to beat, and that is why I scored it a 5.It should be even easier if you are an avid gamer and you are very good with RPG type games. But I just felt that 5 was a good, neutral score for most gamers, it might be closer to 6 if you are more casual though. It is still a pretty easy game to beat though. I have yet to beat it in all the 12 different ways, I have finished it in 9 or 10 different ways, so I have yet to beat it in all 12 ways! That is something I need to put on my to-do list!
Overall: 9.7
This game is one of the best games I have ever played and is considered one of the best games of all time. I enjoyed every second of playing this awesome game. There is just a lot to do and so many ways to finish it, so it will leave you with hours of awesome game play and there is no reason to be bored! This is a one of a kind game and I highly recommend this to those who like RPG games, or those that are into this type of game in general. I was immediately hooked after playing this game, it is so addicting and it is one of those games that will leave you wanting more. At first I thought that this game would be boring but I couldn't have been more wrong, I gave it a try and it was awesome! So this is definitely the game for you if you are into addicting games with multiple ending possibilities! I enjoyed every single second of playing this game and it was totally worth my time. I will definitely come back to play this game again and finally complete it in the other 3 possible endings for the game, I am eager to see how else this awesome game could end! Wish me luck and I recommend this game to those looking for adventure, uniqueness, and satisfaction, because this is the game for you!
So what did you think of my review? Do you think it could be improved a bit? No problem! All of your comments and feedback are greatly appreciated! I greatly value your feedback so I know how to improve my reviews in the future, so do be honest about how you feel about my review, just be sure to keep it appropriate though okay? I always appreciate constructive criticism. Thanks for reading!

Chrono Trigger: Change the Past and Improve the Future   janus

At the height of the millennium bug hysteria, Squaresoft created this interesting game. But what happens in 1999 cannot be solved with coding...

Graphics: 9/10

I would have given a 10 but there is one negative side for the graphs: the overworld map. It's been overly simplified and your characters barely look obese. However, natural elements (houses, castles, forests, etc.) are very-well drawn. Also, the overworld is realistic; there is snow everywhere in 12,000 B.C. (and a raging snowstorm), the climate is hot and tropical 65,000,000 B.C. and the Future (2300 A.D.) has the appropriate setting with its high-tech civilization.

But when in “battle-prone” environment, the graphics are easily in the top-3 of the 16-bits era. All characters are finely drawn with human-like measurements (unlike Final Fantasy). You can see their clothes, their hair and their accessories (glasses, pony tail, cape...). Non playing characters also have nice drawings, although they inevitably look like each other as usual.

Speaking of battle, there is no transition between normal and battle screen, which I found enjoyable – in games like Final Fantasy VII, it takes 5-10 seconds before you can enter your first command. You attack/get attack directly and the moves are realistic. Magic is outstanding and pushes the SNES capacities to its limits – magics like Ice 2, Flare and Luminaire use pretty much all the screen. Speaking of magic, there are many combination attacks available, all of which are well-drawn.

Music: 10/10

The soundtrack was composed by Square's other music genius, Yasunori Mitsuda. To this day, Chrono Trigger is still in my top-5 soundtracks.

Each of the six major era you visit has a distinctive theme that is appropriate. For example, the theme for Prehistory consists of primitive drums (although I personally think Ayla's theme to be a little anachronistic), whereas the theme of the Future has the appropriate tone. Tracks there are also futuristic enough like the one inside the Plant you must deactivate to travel back in time or Robo's theme.

Battle-related tracks are also excellent. The regular battle theme is one of the best ever, the “major” boss battle theme (against Masa and Mune) is quite epic and so is the first part of the last battle.

Finally, sound effects are also excellent. Each weapon has distinctive sounds; Chrono's and Frog's weapons don't sound the same since they are different. Magic too sounds good; I still love how Flare sounds.

Addictiveness: 9/10

If you don't get hooked on this game, then you simply aren't into RPGs :p

Although I admit that the sidequests don't flow as well as Final Fantasy VI – they are clustered towards the end – they are interesting nonetheless. They give you very strong weapons and make you learn a little more about the characters.

Since you travel in time, you have to pick up your treasures wisely. Pick them in 1000 A.D. BEFORE picking them up in 600 B.C. in order to get both. Or sometimes, you can upgrade your armors by picking them at different eras.

Those sidequests also include getting special rocks that let you do more triple attacks. Those are harder to find, so open your eyes.

Story: 10/10

The scenario in Chrono Trigger is one of the most original of all times.

You start in 1000 A.D. where the Kingdom of Guardia celebrates the new millennium. As you go visit you friend Lucca's new invention, you accidentally bump into “Marle”, a young girl who seem familiar... When you reach Lucca, she shows her teletransporter. But when Marle tries it, she vanishes! You try catching up... and end up in 600 A.D.! Will you be able to save this mysterious girl? Who is she? Why are there time gates?

Depth: 10/10

Beyond the excellent main story line, there is logical continuity in the game; whatever you do in the past affects future eras. That was well thought-off.

For example, in one of the sidequests you need to let the sun stone rest for millions of years. Unfortunately it gets stolen and the thief doesn't admit it! So maybe, just maybe, you want to visit his house in the past and influence his great-great-great-great-grandmother into teaching her children well...

With respect to the main storyline now, when you save Marle, the Chancellor in 600 A.D. claims that the kingdom needs a judicial system. When you warp back, this judicial system gets you in big trouble...

Another example relates to Medina village. When you defeat Magus, Ozzie simply takes his spot as the deity of the village, and prices go down a little. But if you manage to kill him, prices will go down further than almost any place at any time!

Difficulty: 6/10

Even for RPG experts, this game can prove to be a challenge. Many bosses have elemental defense, so you need to have the right people. Magus, for example, changes his barriers whenever you attack him. If you don't use the right spell, he absorbs the damage. Others like Nizbel are weak to thunder but absorb a certain percentage, releasing it thereafter.

There is also real-time action unlike most RPGs. In the future era, you have to cross ruins where rats roam around and can steal you. You also have to beat someone at a moto race if you don't want to cross a highway full of mutants. Finally, one of the sidequests of the future consists of escalating a mountain where howling winds can blow you of the surface! I remember having to try it again and again...

Finally, Magus' Castle is full of traps and dangerous monsters. Be prepare to fall into many traps and fight quite a bit.

On the plus side, most random fights are avoidable as you simply need to avoid triggering the enemy. For example, in the forest of the present there are mushrooms that you will fight if you touch them. You just need to walk around them to avoid them.

In short, any RPG lovers has to try this masterpiece. The graphics and music were astounding for the time, the storyline will keep you hooked and you will find that the scenario was very well thought-of. You will want to do all the sidequests in order to learn more about the characters, or even about the enemies.

Chrono Trigger   legacyx
Chrono Trigger...
It's one of those legendary games that you heard of and kind of know how it would play out but never really played it for whatever reason. I honestly just thought oh look its going to be another early final fantasy game. Well not quite. A lot of the game engine is final fantasy obviously (they used final fantasy's developers and a couple of others for production) but it has its own separate twists and mechanics from FF. Chrono trigger utilizes a dual-tech & triple-tech system that allows different characters to perform powerful combinations. So in terms of battle you no longer pick the best individuals but rather build a team with the best chemistry. The difficulty battle wise was a bit harder then most rpg's and there was no annoying random encounters! All the enemies are on screen....thats not to say you wont be ambushed. The graphics are amusing, your characters will turn towards the enemy and not mindlessly stare off at the sky. Some monsters even dance around the screen while in battle. The game has many different endings (14) so it has a high replay value. Overall I love these retro-styled rpg's made in the "golden" age of video games. So naturally picking this game up after returning from boot camp was a treat. Regardless I think anyone can enjoy this game. Its great to see how these oldies spawned massive free world adventures like skyrim. This games the original and going back to my first thoughts I'd definitely recommend this game. 10/10

Chrono Trigger: Long Time Classic   Quil
Chrono Trigger is the very first RPG I'd ever come across when I first got the Super Nintendo. Long after the machine broke, I still have the same Chrono Trigger cartridge.
Graphics-9
The graphics were simply amazing for this game, there is just no other way to say it. A lot of the techniques in this game are just beautiful, and all of the monsters and sprites are certainly well done. The game overall has amazing graphics considering its age.

Sound-10
This game has some of the best music on all of the Super Nintendo. It has some amazing tracks that are definitely long time classics, and I bought the DS version solely to listen to the audio during car rides. The music sounds great, and the amount of tracks in this game just make it a wonderful experience.
Addictiveness-10
The game itself has twelve different endings, meaning that anyone who enjoyed the game will most likely play it multiple times over.  Chrono trigger is very fun and creative, making it just an absolute gem, leaving it with a high replay value.
Story-10
The story is incredibly simple at some points, and at others it really makes you think. It's a wonderful story with twists and turns, and it makes the game even more enjoyable, with the story on par with everything else that makes this game so great.
Difficulty-6
Any RPG expert should have no difficulty beating this game, and casual gamers will experience some difficulty, for sure, but overall the game is relatively easier compared to other Square titles, making it a very balanced game.
Overall, this game is simply amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes RPGS or video games in general to spend the time playing this, as it will always meet expectations.

Chrono Trigger   RetroidGameoid
One of the most amazing games ever, crested by one of the most amazing game designers. Thanks to the love and appreciation that Square Enix has for their gamers, they created this ultimate masterpiece. Of course, you though the first few Final Fantasy games were as good as it could get back in the day, well... you're wrong. After a while, Square Enix decided "You know what... let's take RPG to a whole new level", from this, Chrono Trigger was born. With a beautiful soundtrack and elegant story, Chrono Trigger brings the best of multiple RPGs all into one. With the enhanced graphics of FFVI, the soundtrack similarities of The 7th Saga, and the exploration of Earthbound, Chrono Trigger will test your determination and give you a truly magnificent RPG experience.
Now, let us turn down the hype for a second and get to the basics.
First off, adding a twist onto the battle style, Chrono Trigger decided to create area damage with certain attacks, allowing you to attack multiple enemies located in close proximity.
Next, adding onto the battle style, Chrono Trigger brings us a chance situation when enemies attack, preventing certain enemies from attacking you depending on where they are located or which of your characters is closest.
Then, we get a pretty sweet soundtrack, easily able to bring you into the zone. With a wide variety of music, ranging from eerie to an adrenaline rush, the music in this game is equal to Final Fantasy VI (if not slightly better).
And lastly, we have a unique story, adding in a clash of modern technology meeting the lifestyles of a medieval world. It gives you a truly alternate universe feeling to it.
I don't want to hype it up, but it is one RPG you shouldn't miss out on playing (even if you have to emulate it).

Travel to the end of time and back!!   Dante0
This game is amazing, I've never played anything like it, from the awesome visuals to the amazing sound and music, this is a game that
every RPG fan needs to play. If you have never played an RPG, let this game introduce you to the genre, you will not be disappointed.
Graphics: 10. This games graphics are awesome, the detail put into the attacks, the magic, and how impressive the sprites are,
I wouldn't say it's the best looking game on the snes, but its up there in the top 5, heck, top 3. It's not even the graphics themselves, its the design and how smooth the animations look, I love how every character looks and moves, of course not EVERYTHING is super detailed and stuff, but for an snes game, trust me this game looks beautiful. Overall this games graphics gets a 10.
Sound: 10. The music is beautiful, emotional, and epic, you have everything from rock to orchestra. The world map music is one of my favorites, the battle music is perfect, and I never got sick of them lapping a few times, I never turned down my speaker or tried to turn off
the music from the settings, it is a joy to my ears. The sound effects well they are good, nothing really stuck out but they fit the game and when you swing your sword it makes that SHING sound or whatever lol but the sound effects sound realistic and they do the job and for me were never annoying. Overall the sound gets a another perfect 10.
Addictiveness: 10: This game is huge, secret areas, multiple endings, and so so much more. I still haven't beaten this game and I know after I do, I'm going to replay it for all the endings. The battle system is innovative and fun, grinding is a joy and not a chore, I honestly never was never bored when playing this game, and I wanted to keep going to going to see how the story evolves, and I still have yet to see how it ends, and I'm exited for that day to come. Overall, another perfect 10.
Story: 9. Like I said, I still haven't beaten the game yet, but so far, the story is awesome, very few games can do a time travel story without screwing it up, ya know, like sonic 06, remember the terrible story in that game? Well Chrono Trigger does this without breaking a sweat.
I'm not going to spoil anything so I'm just going to leave it at this, the story is one of the reasons you play the game and has some awesome twists. Breaking the perfect ten streak is the story, I haven't beaten this game yet so don't judge to much about it not getting a 10 if you think it deserved one. Overall 9
Depth: 9. I already said this but this game is pretty big, sporting about 13 endings or more, and I'm going to replay this game for all of them, not much more to say there are secrets lots of characters and this game will take a long time to complete, I haven't beaten the story yet and I have already put in about 30 hours, by just grinding cause its so much fun and talking to people in the game and exploring the many different eras you get to visit, it doesn't get a 10 because I do wish there were a few more side quests, cause there really isn't any that I know of, but lots of weapons, magic, and combat moves to unlock, this is a game that you can put several hours into and not get bored.
Oh yeah there is also this monster arena thing but don't play it, trust me it's stupid lol. Overall 9.

Difficulty: 5. This is one of the easiest RPG games I have ever played, actually one of its problems is that it doesn't put up much of a challenge, or maybe I was just grinding to much lol. I always knew where to go the game was clear on that, I never ran away from a battle
cause I love battling, but then again because its easy you can focus on the story and characters and its just a great game to pick up and play and enjoy. Overall 5.
This game is incredible and one you won't soon forget, and if you missed it on the snes pick up the remake on the ds, with extra animated movies and other goodies that you can turn off and just play the with the original settings. It was also paired with FF 4 ( or 2 ) on the ps1 called Final Fantasy Chronicles, so pick it up on that if you want! On the ds, snes or ps1 Chrono Trigger is a game you will not soon forget, and one that I highly recommend for anyone, even if you don't like rpgs, play it for the story and experience. This was my first review, hope you enjoyed, and I will be doing more reviews in the future. Until next time! Overall game score: 10.

Chrono Trigger Review   XxEzraxX
Chrono Trigger is a mind blowing addition to the Super Nintendo. I believe a lot of people were really pleased with this title and it is not very hard at all to see why. This game has amazing story elements and great game play. Never once did I find the controls awkward or weird and the game plays pretty straight forward for the most part so getting lost just wasn't an option. Needless to say that Chrono Trigger captured my heart and is still a very much enjoyed game today.
Overall I rated this game a solid 10, I personally loved it and find it a cult classic of video games. Chrono Trigger took me on an amazing adventure, and still takes me there time and time again. I never get tired of playing. I love the style and the feel of the game and the story, it is nice and solid.
The graphics of this game look pretty good, especially for the era that it came out. I gave the graphics an 8, I loved them they were not to distorted that you couldn't tell what it was. You can definitely tell when you can interact with something and character designs look really nice. When it comes to the sound I had to rate it a 10, I loved every bit of music that this game produced each one fitting the mood of the level just perfectly. Each location sounding just as amazing as the first.
Addictiveness I rated 10, I am completely hooked and love playing this game. I also think a lot of new age gamers, if given the chance, will love this game too. And I really think that the story is what captivates most people, so I rated it a 10 as well. Chrono lives with his mom and wakes up one morning to go to the Millennium Fair and see his friend Lucca, but then he runs into a girl who calls herself Marle. As you and Marle find your friend, you watch as she displays her new invention a teleporter which Marle is so happy and eager to test out. However, her pendant reacts to the machine and now Chrono must go to the past and save her, turning a simple rescue mission into saving the whole world from a destructive and desolate future. That is the story shortened up, I didn't want to give any spoilers.
As for the depth I rated the game an 8. Sometimes you may find little secrets, like tonics and items. There are also a few extra characters who will aid you on your quest like Robo or Frog. Difficulty I rated a 7, the game wasn't hard really but sometimes can be a challenge when it comes to some bosses, etc. But overall the game is not impossible, not even slightly.
Chrono Trigger is needless to say an amazing game, and definitely deserves much praise. I hope that I have inspired those who have not tried this game to pick it up. It is an excellent adventure, and a wonderful game. Have fun, until next review.

This is an outstanding game in my opinion, One of the very first games I played (Literally) when I was 2-4 years old, I played, read, and understood this game entirely, I loved it and I always will (as well as I know anyway) Imagine a 2 year old kid just learning how to read and is playing the adventure of Lolo (my first game) on the NES in the back, The kid comes out front to see what mommy is doing, and picks up the other controller to start playing too, (This is still at the beginning of the game, around the festival) and I go and start playing through the game for two years and enjoying every second of it for the next two years, Now back on subject, This is one of those games that truly leaves warm memories in your heart, And please don't read much further if you're afraid of spoilers or if you are in the process of beating this game, This is one of those games that helped develop games like Skyrim and The other Elder Scrolls games, And stuff like Fable, This game is at the beginning of the family tree for them, And it's music is done by my all time favorite music Composer "Nobuo Uemastu" and the character design is done by the same as Dragon Ball Z, "Akira Toriyama, Nobuo is responsible for creating the music for Final Fantasy One through Ten, Together with the rest of the Developers have created one of the best games I have ever played (My all time favorite too) and the First RPG game to achieve game of the year, This game also features the ability of having the max of three people on screen working together to unleash devastating double and triple techs, If one of your characters go down, it's the same as two going down, So in other words.. Keep your guys in good health, as mistake even the best of us make sometimes, Always save as often as possible yet not too often, You never want to lose your data if you can help it, as for overall gameplay, I give this a ten, as for music, Without a doubt ten... It puts the best music it can in the best place it can at the best times it can, As for difficulty, well... If a two to four year old can beat it, it should get a two to for rating, As for depth... There is so much to do, From all the side quests to all of the main story, to basic leveling..(Ayla), this game has it all for the time it came out.and well, I replay this game all the time, It's absolutely amazing when it comes to replay ability, and it even has two amazing sequels,Chrono Cross and Chrono Break, the second of which was sadly canceled and I never got to play it, As for Crono Cross, It's an amazing game which comes close to rivaling the first, Doesn't quite cut it though. Well.. Without spoiling anything for you except the credits and the very first part of the game, I can't really tell you much more... As for now, Enjoy your time on Vizzed.com and I hope you enjoy my first review.

One of the best.   NinjaLo
Epic....This game is nothing short of Epic. The first rpg I ever played was FF7 and at the time(I was like 7 or 8). I thought even back then nothing would ever compare. Fast forward till I was about fourteen and I got this game in the Final Fantasy Chronicles(along with final fantasy 4). From the first time I put it into my PlayStation I was hooked. The story is riveting and compelling it actually makes you care what happens to the characters and for me that's a huge plus. For an SNES game the graphics and sound were way above average in my eyes and multiple playthroughs with different party combinations is the number 1 reason to keep coming back. The only drawback to this game and when I say this its more of just trying to find a con is the difficulty. At times the dungeons are too small and the enemies are too weak but that's nothing more than a minor inconvenience and other than those two reasons there are no drawbacks to this game. That all being said in my opinion this is a must play for anybody who calls themselves rpg fans because as I said before this game is Epic.
Mad thanks to Vizzed for allowing me to play this game again.

This game is for all RPG lovers   Lacedwithadaman..
This game is amazing. When I was growing up I didn't own Chrono Trigger I owned Chrono Cross. I played Chrono Cross constantly and instantly fell in love with it. The story just really connected with me. After playing it many times I really wanted to play Chrono Trigger. Eventually a while later I bought a copy of Chrono Trigger for PlayStation that also came with Final Fantasy IV. I didn't like how it was packaged, two games in one, but being a fan of both Final Fantasy games and Chrono Cross it was pretty awesome. I started playing Chrono Trigger and I couldn't stop playing; it was just as good and maybe even better than Chrono Cross. The story flowed with originality and was in the top of my RPG picks of all time. The first time I played the trial chapter became my favorite because of it's surprising originality for an RPG from the 90s. It just shocked me how cool it was. The music during the trial is instrumentally very similar to the Trial in the Wall by Pink Floyd. The music in the entire game is melodic and ambient. The animation is similar to Secret of Mana/ Secret of Evermore if you enjoy playing those games. I believe that anyone who hasn't played this game and loves RPGs needs to play this game and if you have played this game you've probably played it several times. The tech moves are also very original for an RPG from the 90s I feel and even more of a reason to play this game. Techs are special abilities but not for a single person you can double or triple your attacks with magic and skills. The games isn't really difficult but difficult enough for you to enjoy it. Lots of RPGs you find yourself leveling and leveling up your characters and it gets in the way of the flow of the story. This game if you level up adequately at the beginning of the game and well equip your characters you can really have a lot of fun with this game without ruining the flow of things. This game is a must play for all RPG fans.

Chrono Trigger Review   reaca
Ah, Chrono Trigger. Since I first played you on my DS out of curiosity, I've loved you more that almost every other game I played. Now it's time for me to review you, my friend.
Graphics
I personally think that the graphics of Chrono Trigger are amazing, especially for the SNES. Mix masterful graphics with Akira Toriyama's art style and you have a winner. The environments in the game are detailed and easy to navigate, in my opinion. You can't say you weren't impressed when you saw Magus' castle on your first full playthrough. The enemies and bosses also look very good. Even if some are better looking than others, you can't deny the fact that Chrono Trigger is perfect in the looks department. 10
Sound
I'll just put it simply: Chrono Trigger has one of my favorite soundtracks for any video game, second only to Final Fantasy IX. The music is catchy, and when it needs to, gets you pumped for what's coming up. One good example of this is the song that plays when you fight Magus. It starts off all calm, but then explodes into the heat of the battle. That's good composing if I ever heard it. I'm also fond of Frog's Theme, the battle theme, and the overworld theme for 600 AD. 10
Addictiveness
I don't think I need to say much here. I wouldn't have the patience to play through an RPG of this caliber if it wasn't addictive. Some of the reason that I find it so addictive is because of the beautiful graphics and spectacular music. The story also kept me interested at least, but I'll touch up on that next. Also, with the 13 or so different endings and New Game +, this is a very addicting game. 10
Story
I'm going to tell you a quick summary of the beginning moments of Chrono Trigger.
Chrono, a young man, goes to a festival to see his friend Lucca's latest invention. While he's waiting for the invention showing to be ready to start, he accidentally runs into a young woman named Marle. The two hit it off and travel around the festival together. When Lucca's invention is finally ready, Marle volunteers to test it out. Due to the fact that she's wearing a special pendant while using the invention, she is sucked up into a strange portal. Chrono then follows her in to save her.
If that isn't a good enough start to an RPG, then I don't know what is. It's not a slow story by any means, in my opinion, and with all of the different endings, there are many different conclusions that you have the possibility of running into. 10
Depth
This game has a lot of content, trust me. It may not take you as long as other RPGs to beat, especially with the option of taking on the final boss very early on in the game, but if you want to explore around to see different parts of the story, you can. If you decide to do the extra stuff, it'll add a decent amount of time onto your file. With all of the different time periods and secret places/weapons to find, this game will have you occupied for a good while. 10
Difficulty
This is going to be the lowest scoring area, but it's for a good reason. If you're experienced with other RPGs, Chrono Trigger shouldn't be too hard for you. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it shouldn't make you rip your hair out. With how little you'll use your money unless you buy weapons, you should never be short on tonics, so you'll be fine. 7
Now I guess I'll type out each individual score and come up with an average.

Why is this so awesome?   lennonluiz0907
Ah, Chrono Trigger.
This game is seriously one in one thousand. Even by though I was born at the N64-Gamecube era, I'm still that huge classic game fan very few people of my age are, as they keep messing their heads in their modern cellphones.
I play games though, and I can't stress how awe-inspiring this game is.
I played Chrono Trigger for the first time only two months ago, and I recognize how awesome this game is. I decided to make a review of it so I can gush all over it a little more.
Graphics - 10
This game's graphics aren't the best in the system by far(Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong Country crush this game like all the others), but they are still awesome as they are. Seriously, the graphics are great and this just shows. I don't think I should say much else.
Sound - 10
This game's soundtrack is by far, the best soundtrack in the generation. Just let the title roll for a little bit, and you will instantly hear my favorite track in the whole game. I think this deserves more than 10.
Addictiveness - 9
Uh, I'm not exactly fond of replaying a 30-hour adventure, but this game is so good it's forgivable.
Story - ∞
SERIOUSLY. This game is a common-day RPG Epic. If it doesn't have a 10-worthy story, it's because it's a Mario & Luigi game. And this game's story is one of the strongest stories ever. I can't say the first ten minutes of the game because it's already a spoiler. It's THAT GOOD.
Depth - 9
30 hours is a lot, but not that much for a common-day RPG Epic. In fact, it's only 30 hour long for a full-side quest run, otherwise it can be 22 to 20 hours long. Not that I care about this, but...
Difficulty - 7
Right to the point - This game is EASY. I can give credit to Masa & Mune, because that boss is so hard that I think it gave two extra points to the Difficulty. But I'm giving it a 7 because the side quests are very hard. Seriously.
Overall - 9.7
This game isn't perfect in any sense of the word, but it's good as it is. Seriously, this game is amazing. I can't give it a solid 10, but for THE LOVE OF CRONO, I can't think of any way this game could be better. If you haven't played this game, play it. But a small warning - There's a point in the game you will probably get stuck on, and very early on. If this happens to you, keep patient and look for a walkthrough. This game deserves every second of your presence.

Serpentine Review features: Chrono Trigger   ZeegSerpentine
So let me get this out of the way. Normally I will do my standard intro when it comes to game reviews, and honestly, I will. But before I do...I need to get this out of the way. Churn Trigger for the NES is, with out a doubt, one of the best games I have ever played for the system, and most likely one of the best RPG games I have ever played. Its a really, really good game overall, and honestly I love this game for what it has in it and what path it paved for the current RPG games.
But honestly, why do I love this game? Why do I enjoy it so much?
Well, brothers and sisters in gaming, lets dive in and find out, and let me show you why I enjoy this game and why I, not just as a reviewer and a gamer, but as a fan of RPG's, would recommend this game to you. As per usual, I will be rating this over the normal Vizzed rating system, by judging the game by its Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. With that, lets begin.
Graphics: This game, for the time, has a really nice graphics display and overall has a nice feel of the game in general. It has a top down view, sort of, and the way it looks, moves, and just feels overall is really impressive. To be honest, at the time this was the best experience when it came to display. Everything looks how it should be, and the character pictures and design is pretty awesome. Now to be honest, I'm being a bit biased on the character model and picture because it was co designed by Akira Toriyama, a.K.A. the guy who made the DBZ series, but even if I wasn't a fan, I still enjoy the games presentation. I give the Graphics a Ten out of Ten.
Sound: Again, with the Graphics, the sound fits the entire game. Even the OST is really good, well for a NES game, but honestly I enjoy it more and more every time I listen to it. Its so impacting, from the battle theme, to the opening title theme, to even the Lavos boss theme. Its all very easy to enjoy. So honestly, without sounding like a broken record player, the games sound gets a Ten out of Ten. Like I said, Its just as good as the graphics.
Addictiveness/Difficulty: Okay, I know what every reading is going to say. "Why am I pairing both Addictiveness and Difficulty in the same category?" Simply, because in this game, it goes hand in hand with each other. Yes I'm breaking a role by doing this, but at the same time I really can't describe it better then this. The game is not so difficult that anyone can pick it up and play it, and its aggressively addicting to play. To be honest, the only reason why anyone would have trouble with the game is because you either don't know how to play the game, or you can't play the game well at all. And trust me when I say this, I got a friend who has never played Churn Trigger or any RPG game before, and told him to play it. And he enjoyed it so much that he even bought the technical squeal. (For the record I didn't know that this game had a squeal.) So hand in hand, I will enjoy to give both a Eight out of Ten.
Story/Depth: Again, sorry for this to Vizzed, but I'm breaking a rule again for the games story and depth, and immediately will say that the two go hand in hand once more. I can't stretch this enough, but after playing this game again, I can say this. This games story, is very short, but the game has a lot to offer. Which is a great thing to pair together. The game is only 17 hours long, if your doing the extra endings, and with very little side missions, the depth is focused purely on how you and your fellow characters story tie into each other. The story is really gripping to, showing how the events of the game in the end go to one final outcome. Defeat Lavos. For this one, again, an Eight out of Ten.
Okay everyone, with that being said, I have put into consideration the Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty, and then taking into my own personal enjoyment and notes of the game, I give this game a fair 9 out of 10, giving it a Serpentine Seal of Approval, reserved for the best in games, and only given to games I believe everyone should own and play.
Honestly guys, I can't tell you all how much I enjoy this game as a whole and if you can, play it. Heck, play it on Vizzed! Its great and defiantly worth playing. But with that, brothers and sisters thank you for joining me and until next time, keep your swords sharp, for the revolution is coming. Later!

The game of a Lifetime   EmiletheOverlord
Oh man, this game. My love for this game is hard to put in words, but I can sure try my best. This game, is the combination effort of the Dream Team, consisting of Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Square's Final Fantasy series, Yuji Horii, a freelance designer and creator of Enix's popular Dragon Quest series, and Akira Toriyama, who had worked with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball. Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game, Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring remaining tracks to Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. That's the people this game had working on it, this game had so many people with amazing talent backing, it had its own pedigree . It had everything you could ask for from a game. A decent difficulty, a nice storyline, character's that made you feel for them, and made you want to see them succeed and survive. It didn't just point you at the bad guys and say 'kill it' they gave you reasons to both love and hate the character's. It shows you that your actions mean something, and aren't just a plot device on the route from point A to point B. The game tells you the story, while still leaving just a bit for your imagination to play with, and is so rich with culture and and humour, and the whole game smells of an unmatched creativity. The game knew when and how to take itself seriously, but also knew when you should relax and have a bit of fun.
In a gameplay aspect, I suppose that I should say that It takes a unique take on battle for two reasons. One is that while most games transfer you to some alternate dimension to fight any enemy you may happen across, Chrono Trigger does not, you stay in the area you were in before the fight started, just in a 'battle mode.' The second thing they do is that while you get techniques that you can use as a single character, you can also wait until more characters can take their turns, and combine techniques to form stronger double or triple techs, but which cost the same as if each character was using one of their solo techs.
As for enemies and areas, they get tougher and larger as the game progresses, and they will get more frustrating, but never undefeatable. There are a lot of endgame side quests, and they all result in a great power boost to your characters, and you also won't be short on money, or at least not usually. Even once you beat the game, there's still more to do, and there are 17 different endings based on when you fight the final bosses and your choices up to that point. The music is atmospheric, providing an amazing mood to go along with the many different areas, and so much more. Honestly, I could gush about how amazing this game is for several more paragraphs, but I implore you, dear reader of this review, come, play this game, I think you'll be glad you did.

Chrono Trigger Review by strikerofthewind   strikerofthewind
Hey guys! My second review! YAY! This time it's on the game Chrono Trigger. It's basically the perfect game. Even if you don't like video games, you will love Chrono Trigger! This game is legendary! Dubbed by many, myself included, the best game in history, it was made by Squaresoft, who made some of the best games in their time. Anyway, here we go.
The graphics in the game are amazing! The Super Nintendo Entertainment System games almost always have great graphics anyway, but the graphics in here mesh together more than perfectly. It's definitely one of those games that people who only play the games today that only focus on graphics would still love. From the simple moves like Crono hitting an enemy with his katana, to the giant moves like Dark Matter and Luminaire, the graphics are perfect for each moment.
I don't even know how to begin on the sound. Chrono Trigger is famous for if nothing else, the music! The music in here even earned Chrono Trigger a spot on Screwattack's Top Ten SNES Games list. From the songs like Peaceful Days to the songs like Boss Battle 2, from A Shot of Crisis to Corridors of Time, the music never gets annoying, with each one fitting the mood perfectly. Changing songs at perfect moments to keep the mood adds to this. Each of the character's personal theme songs are phenomenal, as well. I wish the rating didn't stop at ten, because this more than deserves a score of at least fifty!
In terms to addictiveness, it's really... Well, actually, let me tell you this: I've played and beaten the game well over fifteen times. But that aside, the addictive levels of the game are surprising. This game will always bring you back for more. Period. End of story.
The story line is impossible to describe in words. This is easily the most original story in gaming history. Possibly history in general. The game's story is impossible to not love. It gets bizarre at times, admittedly, but that's what makes the game all the more better! You don't want a game so simple you understand every single word spoken, do you?
The depth of the game is so deep it makes the Marianas Trench look like a crack in a chocolate chip cookie. Yeah. That's how deep it is. The game has a ton of places to explore, a level ninety-nine cap, seven different time periods, and seven different playable characters. How much more deep can you get? Incredible enemies, unique bosses with even more unique strategies, incredibly unique and human(ish) characters that almost anyone can relate to at least one of them, this game's depth can not be beat.
The game is not hard for the most part. The bosses can hold you up at some places, for no reason other than you haven't found a decent enough strategy to defeat it. There are a few places it's easy to get lost in, but there are only like two or three of those. You'll be fine. The game locations though are pretty straightforward. That about sums the game up completely. I guess I'm done. Well, now I'm off to travel through time. See ya!!!!

Best RPG Game ever!!!   Fantasy.Castle
I love Chrono Trigger, this game is one of the best RPGs ever made, if not the best RPG ever made. This game is what inspired my love of music because yes the music is really that good. You may recognize the styles from Xenogears and Final Fantasy has both composers worked on the music for Chrono Trigger. I used to just let my characters sit on the world map so I could listen to the music. This was the first game I ever saw where the characters got "bored" and moved when the player was not playing.
The storyline is fantastic and the game as a featured call Play+ where you can you play the game from the beginning with all the items, experience and spells that you have learned throughout the game.

Chrono Trigger is one of those games where you just say WOW. It has the one of the most in depth storyline in RPG history with many plot twists and alternate endings.

GRAPHICS: In the graphics department you can just stand in awe. The Graphics are amazing from the Fair to the future to the past it has tons of colors and great scrolling backgrounds.
SOUND: Sound is AMAZING with fully orchestrated soundtracks and good sound effects that set a high bar.
STORY: The story is complex with twists and turns and, as I said before, alternate endings. It really makes RPG's from then on need to get there a game going
DEPTH: The depth of this game is huge!! You can travel anywhere you want and talk to everyone.
DIFFICULTY: This game is not really that difficult unless you want to get EVERYTHING.
OVERALL: This game is one of the best on the Super Nintendo and I highly recommend to all RPG lovers.

very epic   mscoral
This game is extremely epic. It takes a while to learn the controls, but its well worth it. The story line is incredibly unique, yet sometimes similar to some Final Fantasy games. Although the way they approach the story line is quite different then majority of games I have played. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this game or not. The beginning is somewhat slow, but once you trek through the boring beginning, its well worth the wait. The graphics are AMAZING especially for a game that was originally for the Super Nintendo. The game play is also similar to final fantasy, as it is turn based. But rather then long and drawn out battles, its usually over pretty quickly, so you don't have to spend a whole lot of time trying to defeat one opponent. The difficulty, as usual, is easy at first, but gets harder as you go on. Its easy to learn how to battle, it just takes a little time to learn the controls. The sound is quite amazing as well, it usually never freezes, and just makes the game play more epic for the person playing this game. I really enjoy this game, and it takes a long time to beat. So, you'll spend a lot of time and effort into this game. I hope you all enjoy!

A Legendary Game!   Ultrajeff
Hello Again! Its been a while since 2012, right? Today, I'm going to talk about one of the best games to ever exist... Chrono Trigger! I don't think it hasn't been already said how good this game is, and my review will definitely show non-rpg players why this game is so great! First, let's talk about the story.
Story
: Its basically about a boy named Chrono, who assembles an ensemble cast of friends to travel back and forward in time to stop a global catastrophe. The first of these is Chrono, a spiky-haired silent boy who travels in time to prevent a terrible fate from plaguing the world. He  wields a Katana and uses lightning magic. Next we have his allies, which include Marle, a princess who uses a crossbow, Lucca, a tech-savvy friend who uses a gun and hammer in combat, Frog, a amphibian who wields an ancient sword called Masamune attempting to kill Magus, a futuristic robot named Robo, a prehistoric cave girl named Ayla who is unrivaled in physical combat, and Magus, a lord of the mystics who has a scythe and shadow magic. The story is deep and complex, employing several surprising twists and riddles that will keep you asking for much more. It is really worth looking into.
Game-play :
The Game is a traditional role-playing game. Players take turns attacking, guarding, using super special abilities and items, as well as team up for devastating attacks.  The game's best feature is the ability to travel in time with your time machine. With it, you can travel in time, do side-quests, find your friends, and even achieve multiple endings!
Graphics
: The sprites are vibrant and colorful. Every ounce of detail was implemented almost heavenly. Several animations display fluidity and charm, in an emotional manner. It is very atmospheric.
Music
:  This game cannot be mentioned without giving credit to its astounding music! It features the brilliance of musical geniuses such as Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu. Several songs are catchy and majestic, such as the "Corridors of Time" and many others. It is the pinnacle of digitized music nobility.  In the end, Chrono Trigger is absolutely outstanding. It must be seen to be positively believed.

i dont see what the fuss is all about   TetraDigm
Chrono Trigger has always been praised as some end all be all magical wonder RPG of the SNES, at least, since emulators became popular. As a youngling, id only met a handful of other people who'd played this game, and like myself, none could find much enjoyment in the game. For years i've tried to find where everybody finds these amazing aspects, but replay after replay, cartridge after save state, i come up short.
Graphics: I find the graphics to be about the average for SNES RPG's. While things generally look nice, and animations are well done, they arent exactly eye popping or stand-outish.  the supposedly amazing skill amimations fall well short of this, generally being some simple image stretched to terrible looking sizes, or a paralax background shifting slightly in shape/size.
Sound: i find the sound to be a bit boring for an SNES RPG. its not bad, per say, but when you place it up against most music from most others, it will not be the song youd prefer to hear. sound effects are the same as you always hear and as such not worth really noting. the praise the sound generally hears, is not about the sounds themselves, but of the composer of said sounds.
Addictiveness: meh, its a generic cookie cutter RPG with a basic cookie cutter battle system that just looks a little bit different. it boils down into the same "hold confirm and attack constantly" strategy that console RPG's so often had. couple that with the overall generic and lackluster feel of the game, and for me there is very little to keep me coming back except in the hopes that ill one day find that 3 seconds of gameplay i seem to keep missing that gets everyone else hooked.
Story: the story is a jumble of nonsensical idiocy, coupled with the insertion of what the japanese apparently find funny....which never is. while not quite as bad as the spiritual successor, it is still an overly convoluted mess of things that make no sense no matter how you look at it. the character development is laughable at best, and some of the alternate endings just ruin the game entirely. when i can talk to the developers of the game by beating it in a specific manner, it breaks any immersion, and now were just following a couple preset paths. its no longer a story, its just a bad, half hour anime stretched into 25 hours.
Depth: there is ALOT to do in this game. 78 different areas, not counting the world map, 7 characters with a decent supply of equipment, 13 different endings, a huge amount of secret events, items, and useless trinkets, "sealed chests" which give a legit reason to WANT to go back to previous areas, as some have some really nice gear, and a very large array of enemies, make this game stand alone in this category. that i know of, no SNES game period offers nearly this much to do. while alot of it is boring, like going to find chests, some is quite amusing such as "cloning" all of your characters. the endings are where this really shines however. even though every ending as as stupid as the one before it, there are 13 DIFFERENT ENDINGS. sure, you have only basic control over these, as in "make a choice here, this is the ending you will receive", but there were still alot of endings for this game, and alot overall to do.
Difficulty: ppppft. this isnt even worth a paragraph. you just go through the entire game doing nothing but attack, and the occasional healing when boss fighting. its harder to die than it is not to.
overall, i cant see what the big deal is. ive read and heard about this game frequently in recent years, but its almost always talking about the people who worked on it, and how they were such badasses over at final fantasy. nobody ever bothers to mentiont hat this game makes no sense at all, or how its 100% generic except the additions of some random crap to do. sometimes they praise the "combo system", but they always neglect to mention how almost every combo attack is worthless, because doing the attacks that it used seperately is almost always more efficient. this is just another dumbed down Lite RPG made for people who didnt want an RPG, they wanted a side scroller with a level up function.

I get "lost" in this game   lynxs
Chrono Trigger is one of the best games and second best RPG that I've ever played, and I've played a lot. It has a fun battle system, an awesome story, interesting characters, and enough depth to make you want to play it several times through. Chrono Trigger is an adventure that spans time periods and dimensions. The gameplay is linear but it doesn't feel like it when you are immersed in the adventure. The fighting never feels repetitive and with the exception of a few segments the game never drags. I would absolutely recommend to first timers to give this game a shot and be ready to be angry that it took you this long to experience it.

Good Game   Clerma
It is a good game. There are many different endings you can get and that adds more time for you to play. I love the storyline and the battle dynamics. It is really easy to grind for exp. And money in the beginning so that is a big bonus. Early grinding makes you overpowered and it is fun to own stuff later on. I like the graphics for its time and what you can do in the game. It is a great game and if you have not already tried it do so because it is worth it. It is an awesome game!!!!

How do i get the controller to work on this game and all the others using HTML 5 Retroarch? It says all you have to do is plug the controller in but nothing is working.

I still consider this game to be one of if not the best video game of all time.

 Amazing game
Supermatt6534 10-14-17 - 12:48 AM
Such a shame that certain parts of the game were censored in this translation of the game.
Supermatt6534 10-14-17 - 12:47 AM
I would say this game is a little overrated sometimes. I don't enjoy it as much as Final Fantasy 5(my favorite JRPG), but this game is still great.

Have you ever notice that Crono looks a lot like Goku of dragon ball? Its because he is but just not the same name. Akira Toriyama creator of Dragon Ball was the character designer for the game. Look closely at the cover.

I hope to have the game beat by Saturday. And have a review out by next Monday.
Beastmode64 08-02-16 - 09:00 PM
About half way through the game and wow this is a incredible experience!
youp46 06-29-16 - 04:34 PM
I have to ask, does this have the glitch where the time travel loops forever
Mynamescox44 04-22-16 - 06:44 PM
One of the greatest RPGs ever made. Any fan of Final Fantasy, 'Tales of' Series or the like should enjoy this game very much.
Engiminer 02-04-16 - 01:39 AM
Nevermind, you have to be on the map to do so.
Engiminer 02-04-16 - 01:38 AM
I can't figure out how to save...
mikester 01-24-16 - 11:08 AM

A great RPG for the time it came out, and would enjoy seeing another game along the same series as this and Chrono Cross.

I would love to play this game again, but every time I try I get a black screen. Anyone know how to fix that?
MysteryMan007 11-12-14 - 11:07 AM
There is a reason this was rated by pretty much ALL who reviewed it back then as one of the greatest RPGs of it's time. SOME people should learn not to knock what they can't COMPREHEND if they don't want others to flame them for it, even if it's an opi
Luupercus 08-01-14 - 05:41 AM
This and Super Mario RPG, bets rpg's for their time :P
Boozeboy 07-12-14 - 06:47 AM
supermegablox This game was amazing when it came out, it was pretty much the best rpg for its time.
ARedLetterDay 05-31-14 - 01:00 PM
That's the story at it's most basic, sure, especially if you ignore the themes and deeper meaning behind some of the moments in the game...
supermegablox 05-31-14 - 12:56 PM
i kinda agree with dragon slayer, this game is so over rated. the storys kinda meh, its basically, oh theres a festival, oh you accidentally time traveled, oh look shes dead! save her!
ARedLetterDay 01-16-14 - 05:24 PM
@dragonslayer444, excellent writing, excellent soundtrack, an unique battle system what with the double / triple techs, a great take on time travel, etcetera. It is a great game indeed, but you have your opinion.
