Trenchcoats are always in style   MegaMarisa
Well! Here's for another review, and a platforming game I've actually beaten! That's rather rare.
This game, the first in the two-part Chronicles of Sorrow, is a standout piece in the Metroidvania genre. It also has my favorite protagonist in the series ever and they really need to bring Soma back and oh my god, but I will refrain from gushing over how awesome he is to keep this review clean. Sorta refrain. Yeah.
So, first things first, graphics! Graphics shmaphics. I don't care much for graphics, but I cannot deny they can help or hinder a game. I'm a person of style over realistic-ness, but this game blends both together in a mirage of well-put-together stages, excellent character designs, and fun stuff to look at. My only miff is that some of the enemies are just recolors of other enemies, just harder to kill. This is rather evident when you run into a Siren. The Sirens look like Harpies. Which is what they are a recolor of. Yup. My rating for graphics is a 9.
Now, the music. This got some gooooood musics. Oh and the sound does its job just fine, but musics!?This stuff is pretty good. Not the best per se, but I like the composition, the remixes, and the boss themes alike. They do their job well. My rating for the sound in this game is a 8.
And now, how much fun is the game? Do you take pleasure in beating up mundane monsters, yelling at the screen while your friends sit next to you also yelling at the screen, and finding secrets, and beating things up, and finding secrets, and finding better ways to do things a la beating Skeldrich with the bow and arrows as opposed to using the sand wand? Well, this is a good game for you. It does have those moments where you want to chuck the keyboard/Game Boy Advance/controller at the window (lookin' at you, room full of ghost dancers,) but the overall fun-ness of the game is the much fun. Also, stealing abilities is so much fun.Just make sure to pick up a Zombie soul on the way to the Headhunter. Fun-ness is a 8.
Story! I got this game without that pamphlet that tells you you're you-know-what-if-you-beat-the-game, so when I got to that point I was all like whaaaaaaaat. Also, Soma acts like any teenager who suddenly got powers in an abandoned hellhole would. With utter confusion and hacking. And protecting your not-girlfriend is a must. Also, Arikado! Worst disguise, man. Pronouncing your name funny does not count. Relatively good-ish story, has room for work. I give the story a 7.
Aaaaaand the depth. Two words, SECRETS ERRYWHERE. I give the depth a 10.
Finally, the difficulty. Really ridiculously hard three fourths of the time, somewhat not hard the last one fourth. goshdarn ghost dancers (excuse my language.) I give the difficulty a 9.
My final score is, with the power of maths, 8.5. Wow, the calculator actually put it out rather cleanly!
In other words, PLAY THIS GAME SOMA IS BEST PROTAG
HE IS ALSO FASHOINABLE

An Excellent Hack n Slash Platformer   Dalunas18
'Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow' is a very clean, well-made side-scroller. It adopts many of the conventions of its classic predecessors and adds enough that is original to create a thoroughly enjoyable Castlevania experience.
The game is set in the future, but sees its protagonist taken to the iconic, gothic setting of the previous titles. In the castle of Dracula, the player must explore the monster-infested halls and corridors of its medieval horror landscape. In this regard, much of the game's settings may seem familiar, but there is enough variation to leave the player with a large, expansive domain to work through, and many stunning environments to traverse. The underground caverns and outer gardens offer notable and welcome deviations from the dark, stone interior of the castle. All the environments are well designed, allowing for a fair and balanced mix of platform and combat action in each unique portion of the map. Indeed, the map is a crucial tool in navigating ones way through the game, but the locations resist labyrinthine repetitiveness.
For a game that basically comes down to 'jump', 'slash', 'run', the gameplay remains fresh and engaging throughout. The inclusion of the monster soul system adds a delightful element to the customisation of the character and his battling opportunities. Equally, collected souls become crucial to movement through the game. This helps balance the pace of progression well. It is a short game, but one can proceed at leisure, collecting the necessary souls and exploring at will.
The combinations available with the three part soul system invite the player to find and test as many souls as possible, to find the most useful for them in a given situation. Some souls are inevitably more useful than others, and a few will become prominent members of the player’s selection. Devoting time to consider tactics and combinations, especially for boss battles, enriches the game greatly. That said, sometimes - perhaps too often - one can get by just running in and mashing attack. Nevertheless, with the usual weapon, armour and accessory combinations also available, there is plenty of scope for strategic playing also.
To further enrich the experience, 'Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow' offers a solid soundboard, with each area given its unique theme and atmosphere. The fighting noises may get a little repetitive; and until the latter portion of the game, some of the themes may start to drag on. However, the sound of the game is clean overall.
Both to its advantage and detriment, the story of the game remains thin, with the emphasis of active exploration the more prominent focus. The occasional appearance of a character and some dialogue works more to assure the player they are heading the right way; but the story, for what it is, remains fun and accessible. A lot is predictable, but multiple ending possibilities are a nice addition. Certainly, the best ending is the most satisfying and adds an entire new section to the game. Those bent towards 100% completion will appreciate this, though at no point is the player required to collect every soul or weapon. Still, that opportunity is available to those looking to add another few hours to the life of their playthrough.
'Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow' is, as I say, a bit short. This, however, makes it more accessible, especially to players unacquainted to the series. It manages to offer a lot in its limited frame, with completionists definitely getting the most out of it. The bosses vary from straight-forward to head-scratching, with most inviting you to consider the best soul combinations for survival. A couple verge more into the overpowered category, but enough time and thought will allow the player to recognise the necessary patterns to exploit.
Overall, 'Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow' is an excellent game that balances the platform and action elements of its predecessors to craft an accessible experience, especially for newcomers to this genre. Seasoned fans will certainly appreciate its quality, though may consider it an easier title than others. 9/10. I will certainly be returning to this game in the future.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow review #2(old one got closed)   starwars293
Hey you guys, this is starwars293. I made a review of this game last time, but it got closed,so I made this one. Aria of Sorrow, well,we all know this is a great game. Involving some new characters. Those characters are Soma Cruz(the main character and the character you play as),Genya Arikado(who is actually Alucard),Yoko Belnades of the Belnades clan,Graham Jones(the main antagonist of the game),Mina Hakuba(the caretaker of the Hakuba shrine) and the legendary Julius Belmont of the Belmont clan. You also see some of the old bosses from the past Castlevania games like Death. Even some old enemies return like the fleaman and the bats.
Aria of Sorrow is a fun game to play really. The game is also challenging if you like a challenge. You have to solve some stuff. Through out the game, you meet the other characters of the whole game. However, the only character that isn't in this game is the one and only Dracula. If you wanna know why,i'll tell you at the end of this review. There is also some epic and catchy theme music like Soma's theme.
This is one game you can't forget. The weapons in this game are really powerful. You pretty much start of with a bad weapon and later on during the game, you get better and more powerful weapons. The most powerful weapon is Death's Scythe, but you need to get it on hard mode. How you unlock hard mode is beating the game on normal mode first. There is also Julius mode when you beat the game. Just enter the name JULIUS and you play as the Belmont.
For Julius mode, you play as Julius Belmont. You just pretty much have to do the same adventure like how Soma did in the main game. He does get some cool things like uppercuts and the sub-weapons. I forgot to tell you that Soma can use souls as his own weapons. Ain't that awesome? Using souls as your own weapon. The souls are pretty easy on how to use them. Just press up+ attack button. There are three types of souls you use. One is for boosting your stats. Another one for a backup attack or something like that. Finally, the main soul type is pretty much for attacking.
Overall, this game is one of the greatest Castlevania games. Now before I rate this game,I was gonna tell you why Dracula is not in this game. Well, here goes nothing
The reason why Dracula is not in this game is because he is dead. He was defeated by Julius Belmont,Alucard, someone from the Hakuba clan and someone from the Belnades clan. This event happened in 1999. This was called the Demon Castle Wars. Julius and the others sealed Dracula's castle in a eclipse. If you want to know more, read it here
http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Demon_Castle_War
Now it's time to rate this game
Graphics-The graphics are great! The death scene is also perfect. It was just how I wanted it to be.
Sound-Oh My god! The sound and music is great and awesome! Heart of Fire comes back into this game as Julius's theme. Some of the themes also fit with some of the stages in the game.
Addictivness-I would really want to play this game over and over. It blows my mind that this game is awesome
Story-In the year 2036, Soma Cruz and her friend Mina Hakuba are on their way to see the eclipse at the Hakuba shrine. Once they reached it,they later found themselves inside the eclipse, where Dracula's castle was sealed. They meet Genya Arikado when they reach the castle. Later, they have to fight some of Dracula's monsters. Soma defeats one and gains it's soul. Now Soma has to go through the castle and get them out of the eclipse.
Dpeth-The game offers some good weapons,Julius mode and lots more!
Difficulty-This game is pretty hard actually. The bosses are really hard, mostly Death though. Even some of the enemies are also hard to kill.
Overall-This is a great game and a challenging one also.
Wrap Things Up-Castlevania Aria of Sorrow is a great and hard game to play. I would recommend that you would play this game since it has some challenges

Nostalgia   dumptruck
Ah yes, another infamous Castlevania game.

Okay, lets get started.  First off the Castlevania Genre is intended for everyone.  Dracula's Castle is as sinister as he himself. The idea that the castle is searching for those it can manipulate whether it is a channel through which Dracula's soul operates is cunning and clever.  I was not overly impressed but somewhat amused by the intro to the protagonist/antagonists in this story.  Most of us have experienced some form of Castlevania throughout the years and have led the crusade through the eyes of a Belmont.  That also being said I do enjoy playing a classic game as a complete stranger. However, Symphony of the Night was my favorite.
Overall:

The reason I gave this game an 8 is due to the story line.  I believe that the plot was very interesting and could have been explored much more.  Part of the reason Castlevania games become so entrancing is the great attention to the story. You are re-creating one of the GREATEST stories of the twentieth century.  Letting users control a part of the legacy which is Dracula, not to mention we know he actually existed only adds to the fantasy of being involved with one of the most notorious men in history.  SO!!! Anyway, when a Castlevania game creates a new chapter I personally expect a little more than five characters who bump into each other five times for no apparent reason other than to give rhetorical questions.

Graphics:

The imagery and so forth are what you would expect from Castlevania.  Very imaginative and well created to fit what an evil castle should incorporate.  Top to bottom detail from dungeon to chimney.  As far as character , monster, weapon etc... I was fairly impressed.  Being that it is a Advance game I'm trying not to be overly critical because I know they have limited space and means to create a massive game.  The weapons show up as different styles giving users the option of seeing what they are using which is a must when you offer so many weapons.

Sound:

Well at least the music matched the where you were. I'm not to picky on sound because I usually mute the sound and use my own play list but yes yes yes sound is important. I can only imagine what its like to have to create a track for each section of a Castlevania game, whew, not my cup of tea.

Addictiveness:

Okay, heres where I'm going to catch some disagreement.  Yes , the end of this game as does 90% of the games out offer you to "replay the game" with stats, perks, etc... whoopee.  Okay this game is Linear but not linear...make sense? Thanks I knew it would.  Anyway replaying a game that you suffer through a non-existent story just to complete the same tasks in a different order does not do it for me.  I am one of those people who cannot re-read a book.

Story:

See review guidelines if left blank.

Depth:

Great weaponry and armor as is necessary for a Castlevania game and incorporates a couple of its predecessors tactics as far as the souls or using enemies powers.  Very cool. Lots of fun.  I did think the game was over with a little quickly but as I mentioned its not on a platform that can make it 120hrs. Of game play so for its model....good enough.  It does have a lot more to do in search of itemry or weapons etc... but its not overly challenging to get these items, which kinda dulls out the struggle to become truly powerful.  Its like "yay I smacked a random wall and the best sword in the game fell out, now the game will be really hard." When they could have made it near impossible to obtain such items which makes your progress there after soooooooooo worth the effort.

Difficulty:

I play all games on the most difficult agenda for the challenge.  In this game once you learn how to properly use the souls regardless of weaponry you will master it quite fast.  However, if you are a fan of leveling up don't over do it or you will be quite bored.
Parting shot:

I truly enjoyed this game.  Too bad it was so short. Too bad it was so small. I feel teased, just when I made my hero a monster and was like... "LETS DO THIS"  the game was over and my character and I both slouched me in my chair and he in his castle....where's the beef?????

The Perfect Castlevania.   MitsuriZX
Look,i've seen many games that were RPG Platformers, but this one is different from everything. This one has somenthing that others don't,and maybe it has somenthing to do with this game being deep and full of content. Maybe it's the story that has captivating characters and an incredible twist at the end. All i know is that this game is art. This game was made as a result of hard work. This game is probably the best Castlevania ever.
The game mechanics are complex, but easy to use : You have the power of dominance over enemy's souls,so whenever you kill an enemy, you might get certain powers. This makes the game as deep as Pokémon in terms of collecting stuff. There are over 150 souls, and it's not easy to get them all. This game also shares the leveling system from Symphonia of the Night,so you can level up and get stronger.
The soundtrack is truly shining, there is not a single bad song in this game, and it's one of those games where the characters have generic voices, like, when you swing a sword,Soma says "Hah!",or somenthing like that. Some cut-scenes contain voices as well. This game has many different endings, and many different paths that the character can take. The Castle is huge,so there is always a place you didn't explore before. Backtracking is necessary, but it's not terribly boring like in Metroid or other similar games. Alas, you can backtrack if you want to get a certain item or soul for the upcoming boss.
All the bosses are incredibly well made and full of attacks,so the game never gets dull. After you finish the game, you unlock Boss Rush, and Sound test. That is a nice addition. You also unlock hard mode,so if you though the game was too easy, think again. You also unlock Julius as a playable character, and it feels like an entirely different experience when you're playing with him. I'd say this Castlevania has a really big replay value. If you're looking for one game that will never get old, this is it. Enjoy the game, and embark on your journey to find out the secrets of Castlevania.

Aria of Sorrow: A fantastic take on an already great series.   endonian
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a brilliant platformer reminiscent of Symphony of the Night in its layout and gameplay mechanics. It stars Soma Cruz, a high school student, who gets caught up with his friend Mina Hakuba in a paranormal event, which ends up with them stuck in Dracula's Castle. They meet a man named Genya Arikado who tells Soma that Mina will not be able to survive long in the castle, and that he has to find a way out. Taking these words to heart Soma journeys through the castle, meeting all kinds of new people, discovering new abilities, and learning more about himself in the process, for better or worse.
The game itself focuses on the concept of taking "souls," from monsters once you've killed them. Each soul gives either a passive, active, or reactive ability to be used to help progress further in the game. Red souls are generally used to attack, blue souls for utility, and yellow souls to increase attributes or give some new ability. The mechanic works well, the game makes it feel compelling to get all of the souls due to their diverse and interesting abilities. Most important to get are succubus, flame demon, and giant bat. I won't give any spoilers, but make sure those three souls are equipped when fighting the final boss.
For a gameboy advance game, Aria of Sorrow has fantastic graphics that make for a set of easily recognizable characters and enemies, as well as the well-known setting of Dracula's Castle. Some things that were done using the limited graphics they had seemed a little pushed, such as when fire really doesn't look like fire anymore, or when something flies overhead so quickly that you cannot even see it, yet you are expected somehow to hit it. That being said, the positive aspects of the graphic design greatly outweigh the negative ones.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a wonderful game. With such a huge setting, I found myself playing it over and over again. The characters were so compelling and unique that I couldn't help looking up more about them just to see what I could find. Play Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and you'll have a hard time stopping. Try to collect all the souls, and once you've finished try making a new file with the name JULIUS. You'll have lots of fun.

Aria of Sorrow: The best Metroid-like game!   justinfeena1
Since Castlevania Symphony of the Night the serie has become more like Super Metroid but with the typical Castlevania creatures.
Gameplay: Like mentioned it's almost exactly like Metroid. You're walking through different areas from one room to the other and slash down the enemies known of the serie: Bats, Succubus, Merman, Armors, etc. You can find different weapons like swords and spears and each weapon has its advantages and disadvantages. Besides that you can also find armors and accessories to increase the power of your character. But the weapons are not the only thing to beat down the enemies. You also get spirits from the enemies with many different abilities and these spirits are selectable every time and add something special to the game. The fights aren't very hard except some of the boss fights. To orientate yourself you've got a map like in Super Metroid.
Graphics/Areas: The graphic is very good for a GBA game and the enemies are well animated. Some of the enemies are cool and big (posted screenshot) and the different areas are truly different and some of them are just fantastic (posted screenshot).
Story: The story is about Soma Cruz who gets teleported into Dracula's Castle and fights against Dracula. But he's not alone and meets some people which are interesting and they tell you some interesting facts about the castle and Dracula.
Sound: The tunes are fantastic and match perfectly to the areas and creates a great one of a kind atmosphere like its paragon Metroid.
Conclusion: Aria of Sorrow is probably the best game for GBA with a great sound, good graphics, fantastic areas and a big role-playing part. The only negative point of the game are the easy fights. Now it's up to you which serie is better: Metroid or Castlevania? I think both are great series you just have to play.

Very nice sidescroller metroidvania game.   Ungamer12
It has a variety of extremely interesting features, such as the souls mechanic, It is a very long and detailed game, with lots of hidden secrets and accessories and has a fairly nice story, though quite weird at some points, especially at the beginning, and it has a absolute ridiculous amount of weapons and souls, the mechanic of the souls like, you would kill an enemy and you have a chance to collect its soul which gives you an ability similar to that of the enemy's attack and abilities, This is why this is probably the best metroidvania game by far.

Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow   bruce3rd
Hello my name is Bruce3rd and today i am going to review Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow possibly one of my favorite Castlevania titles! Now for those of you who don't know Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow is what is known as a "metroidvania" a sub genre witch is about exploration and collecting items to help in your adventure.  so here's the story Soma Cruz a high school student is going to watch the first solar eclipse with his friend Mina Habuka but Soma blacks out during the eclipse he is brought to castlevania castle of dracula a man named Genya Arikado greets him and Mina so the castle suddenly while Soma asks what the heck is going on  several monsters and skeletons appear Genya kills almsot all of them with ease but one of the monsters survives the attack and attempts to attack Mina and Soma, Soma kills the beast and absorbs its soul Genya  says "it" has awaken Soma asks what it is and Genya says to go to the master chamber and he will understand everything. Gameplay  its like your average hack and slash action rpg but with its own twists and new ideas if you've palyed castlevania symphony of the night you'll have an idea of what your getting into  but for those who have not played that game   here is what it is like you must explore dracula's castle and find new equipment and items to increase your survival now a cool idea of this game is that you can absorb the souls of enemies there are 3 soul types red souls are bullet souls witch are extra attacks blue souls are gaurdian souls witch can be used to get through an area fast extra protection and getting to new areas  yellow souls a re enhancement souls witch are like extra equipment they give you boost to certain atributes and sometimes give you new abilities you never had before use souls to the best of your advantage and find the soul set that best suits you! Sound it sounds like your average gba game and it has japenese voice acting so its pretty good. Difficulty its not rally hard but there are some "are you kidding me!" moments.Depth at a glance  this game is not all that big if you just go through it normally but if you are going for all the souls you can be rewarded  with new things if you explore for those hidden nooks and cranies. my overall rating is a 9.9 why? because i had a lot of good times with this game its very fun rewards those who explore and has some bonuses you can get that was my review of castlevania aria of sorrow goodbye and have a good night all.

Aria of Sorrow   Aceo47
The bosses become easy when you learn their attack patterns. So...there isn't much difficulty unless you fight Graham, Belmont, and that tree guy. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a very good game. I like the Soul System and the Metroid power-up style of the game. If they continue the series, I will rate each of them a 10+++! For those who don't want to look around to much in walkthroughs: Mid-air Kick is available only when you beat a kicking skeleton. When playing Julius, fight all the bosses in order.( He gets stronger after each boss fight is what I believe.) The best sword is one of the dragon swords. The one in the shop is about 12,000 gold.(You can find the other one, which is bigger, in the arena.) Secret to beating Graham easily: Destroy the floating circle first, then dogde the hands and just wail on the moron. What irritates me is that you can be hit multiple times while in air. Example: Being uppercut by golem and slashed by a Minotaur's axe. It's best not to rush through the game, otherwise you will miss some good power-ups that you will need in order to keep moving foward and beating boss rush. Chaos is a very easy boss, you just have to time your movements and attacks. Make sure to have these souls equiped during the fight against Graham. Flame Demon, Succubus, and Giant Bat. Enjoy the game!

Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow   Xenalta
First of I MUST state that I am a huge Castlevania Fan so I might sound a little Biast here. Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow, I got hooked onto this game due to another very similar side scrolling Castlevania for PlayStation. Symphony of the Night. Since then iv tried to find them all and this is the first place iv ever been able to find them. Now Aria of Sorrow taking place in Japans 2035 thrilled me when I started playing it and like true Castlevania fashion, kept to the antique weaponry style of swords and spears. Only 2 possible guns in the whole game.
The Aspect of actually "playing" as Dracula peaked my interest. To come back and collect the souls to gain back your power. Soma being pulled into the Eclipse Justin Belmont sealed Castlevania into with the power of the Vampire Killer whip. Just to save your soul you realize its already been sold to the devil.
Now in spite of the System it was made for, Aria of Sorrow more than delivered in the amount of detail Konami put into it, But then again Konami has yet to disappoint me in works the do.
Castlevania has always been an addictive franchise for me and probably always will be. Kill Dracula in an ever changing castle. Every new game is a surprise do to the nature of the castle, ITS ALIVE. You cant play one game and expect it to be the same in the next
You'll hunt for souls for a while. I have yet to collect them all and iv had the game for several years. I just cant seem to ever be able to collect Legion, Not that I don't know how but I always kill it before Shedding its shield >.<, ... The game itself is not that difficult at all. Leveling comes quick, money comes slow (without certain souls) and enemies are easy to kill by the time you meet them...
Now Aria of sorrow is very easy to learn and very easy to pick up. Nothing personal but I found Pokémon harder to learn than this and that's not saying much.

Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow is a good GBA game to play, I really enjoyed playing it, except that there were a few seconds freezing, which got me killed in the first boss level.  I do not know if it was my computer or not so I just wanted to say that out.  This Castlevania game is very different from what people would play on the NES and Genesis consoles.  There are different characters and a different story, but the story is sort of related so give that one a chance.  I personally think that this game is a mix of Castlevania and Fire Emblem because it is not like the other games that were on the NES and Genesis.  This one is a whole new level of Castlevania.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are perfect.  Pretty good levels and cool characters.  The enemies were very similar like bats and skeletons.  There were no screw ups in this game and the battle style graphics look very impressive.
Sound - 10
The sound is awesome and great melodies for the castle.  Similar songs from the other Castlevania games and good sound effects from the characters and from the enemies.
Addictiveness - 8
This game is one of the games I would definitely play again.  It is just like Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem. :D  I am a big fan of Fire Emblem so that is why I like playing this.
Story - 8
The story is wonderful.  It is very adventurous and interesting.  I actually read what they talk about.  I usually never read what they talk about because it really bored me, but this story was very interesting.  I wonder what it is in the end.
Depth - 8
This Castlevania game is again just like Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem.  It has equipping items and stats changing.  you can also level up (I am pretty sure) and you can find items in the game that you can equip.  You do not go places to buy items and equip them, they are just scattered in the levels, which is pretty different, but difficult if you want to find an awesome weapon.
Difficulty - 6
The game is quite hard if it weren't for the freezing (again, I do not know if it was my computer or not).  Other than that, the game is fun.  Some enemies can be difficult, but they seem to not take away lots of health from you, which is cool cause I really like having a lot of health.  The only thing difficult is being able to understand the stats and the leveling up.  It takes time to do what you want to do like equipping and when the next level up will be, but that is just how it is in Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem, right? :P
Wrap Things Up...
Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow is a good game to play.  I recommend trying this game out for all you Castlevania fans.  It is a whole lot better and the fighting style is well-prepared. :)

Always wanted to play, Glad I did   StarryNightMary
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow has a lot to do but it isn't that difficult. It's highly addictive and leaves you with a satisfying feeling every time you achieve something. The graphics, sound, and music are superb. The game play is smooth sailing. But the story is a little different from what I thought it would be since it was so Japanese but hey, you make the game, you do what you want.
The game isn't too difficult but towards the end I did use a walkthrough because I wanted to find new places and was a bit stuck. I used the walkthrough for the complete map, list of weapons, enemies, and a little for the gameplay since my experience with games taught me that usually you have things to do to get a perfect ending.
I've always wanted to play this game when I was really little but unfortunately no one I knew had it. Thank you for providing it. I love it so much. I highly recommend it to everyone. Peace.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow   Chiputo
As a start I just want to say this game is amazing, I enjoyed nearly every minute and second of playing it.
From where you start with simple clothes, knife, and your first soul to the end of the game with over 100 different souls (each one doing something different!)and amazing equipment!
The "adventure" feel of the game rarely ends and in fact keeps updating with each room you go inside, whether the layout is different or the enemies in it.
If the whole aspect of having many different powers and exploring different rooms there are also the bosses of each area, Each one having its own weak spot/blind spot that you need to understand.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow review   psychohawk
Castlevania is a long running franchise, and for a good reason. They have been experts at side scrolling vampire and demon killing action, and Aria of Sorrow shows greatly why they have lasted so long. In aria of sorrow you take the role of Soma Cruz, an ordinary man around nineteen years old who has awakened in the dark castle of the late Dracula, who has realized a power that lies deep inside him. That power is to take the souls of his enemies and use their powers to help him and his friend Mina escape the castle. The new "soul" system allows you to customize your characters abilities far more than other Castlevania games, and even makes it stand out in the family of games. There are transformations, secret areas, new weapons to the series, and even multiple story endings. Castlevania Aria of Sorrow is sure to keep your attention. There is one secret about this game, but I wont tell. You have to play this game and find out for your self!

Why does that make the story weird?
StarryNightMary 07-26-17 - 07:30 PM
The gameplay is great, the story is a bit weird since they are in Japan but I still recommend it.

I love SoTN, but I just could not get into this game. The soul part seems interesting, but also kind of tedious.
Vanelan 01-19-15 - 09:18 PM
 Better than SoTN, IMO

 Anyone ever got Death's Scythe?

One of the best Castlevania's I've played. So this is basically my favorite because of the whole soul stealing part in it. Without the RPG element I wouldn't even play Castlevania.
helperchamp 12-04-12 - 08:51 PM

yankinapple 11-21-12 - 04:51 AM
This, is one of the best Castlevania games I have ever played because of the RPG elements and how fun it is. Plus it isn't that hard when you get used to the controls.
angryrpgnerd 10-27-12 - 10:10 AM
