The world's favorite bear and bird   TheFadedWarrior
Ah, Banjo-Kazooie. A game from the peak of Mount Rareware, back when they were good. Almost every kid who had an N64 knows this game. Everyone who played it loved it. Anyone who loved Donkey Kong Country would love Banjo-Kazooie. This game captured the hearts of many players, bringing platformers to a whole new level. This game truly is one of the best platformers out there. I'll tell you why.
Graphics - 10
Super Mario 64? Cross-eyed and layers of fat. Mario Kart 64? Rather 2D looking sprites and not much detail. Banjo-Kazooie? Now we're talking. Banjo-Kazooie has really good graphics. You never have trouble seeing anything, everything is bright and colorful (except for you-know-where), and everything has surprising detail. Look at any image from the game and you'll see what I mean; everything looks great and realistic (at least for the time)! When the N64 came out, everyone saw Super Mario 64 and was blown away by the graphics. Then Banjo-Kazooie comes out and people see that the graphics are almost twice as good. Is there
any reason to complain about the graphics in this game?
Sound - 10
Rareware is known for its good music. David Wise and Grant Kirkhope really knew how to make catchy, fitting tunes. The music gives the game way more atmosphere. You feel like you're living in the game. Remember Rusty Bucket Bay? That theme fits the level so well it's unbelievable. I never thought music mattered that much to a game until I played Banjo-Kazooie. The composer put noises into the music that made the atmosphere even deeper and the music even better (horns/whistles in Rusty Bucket Bay, croaks in Bubblegloop Swamp). These songs can get stuck in your head for the rest of your life.
Addictiveness - 9
You know how I kept going on and on about the atmosphere of the game? That's one of the things that makes this game really addictive. Like I said, you feel like you're actually inside of the game. Would you want to leave a new universe? Certainly not. In Super Mario 64 you started with all your moves and played the game. Banjo-Kazooie allows you to learn the moves throughout the game. Egg farts, projectile egg vomiting, flying, blah blah blah. Another difference from Super Mario 64 is that you collect more things. Get all the Jinjos for a Jiggy, collect the notes to open doors, stock up on eggs and golden feathers, and of course...
Mumbo Tokens. A huge part of this game is transforming. You go up to some black magic voodoo skeleton who transforms you using black magic voodoo skeleton powers. You can be a bee, a termite, a crocodile, even a washing machine! All of these and more help you get the Jiggies... except the washing machine, that's completely useless.
All that makes this game pretty addictive. It's very immersive and fun.
Story - 4
It's a platformer, so guess what? A girl gets captured by an ugly person. Banjo's sister, Tooty, gets captured by the evil witch Gruntilda because Gruntilda wants to be beautiful again. So you go and save her. Whoop-de-doo.
Depth - 9
There's 10 levels including the overworld, 10 Jiggies per level, 100 notes per level, and a few secrets here and there (e.g. Turning into a washing machine, getting empty honeycombs to boost your health). That makes 100 Jiggies and 900 notes (there are no notes in the overworld). It doesn't have as many Jiggies/Stars to collect as Super Mario 64, but the levels are more expansive and make you explore instead of walking up a mountain.
Difficulty - 7
This game starts pretty easy and gradually gets harder at a perfect pace... until you get to Rusty Bucket Bay. It's commonly known as possibly the steepest difficulty curve in video games. The level you go to before Rusty Bucket Bay: Scary place with ghosts and toilets. Rusty Bucket Bay: GUYS THAT KILL YOU IN LIKE 3 HITS, BOSSES THAT HAVE TONS AND TONS OF HEALTH AND NEED YOU TO GET LIKE 50 EGGS, TURBINES THAT KILL YOU IN ONE HIT, NOTES HIDDEN SO WELL YOU WANNA CRY, WATER THAT MAKES YOU DROWN WHEN YOU'RE NOT EVEN SWIMMING IN IT, A FACTORY ROOM THAT'S LIKE 11/10 DIFFICULTY TO GET THROUGH IT. But other than that the game is good.
Overall - 9
Banjo-Kazooie is known as a great game. Is it? Obviously, why else would it be known as a great game? Really good graphics, amazing soundtrack, a lot of super immersive and fun levels... What more could you ask for? This game is a perfect platformer!

Banjo Kazooie is a hard game to review. I sat down at my computer thinking to myself: I loved this game. It's the perfect game. I want to be playing it right now, not writing a review about it. I could really go for some cheesecake right now. I love this game. But this love is hard to put into words. Especially words that justify the perfect rating I give it. I guess I give this game a perfect rating because I cannot think of a single thing I dislike about the game, and therefore it must receive a perfect score. So I guess this is going to be a glowing review filled with fluffy bunnies and rainbows, so those of you looking for some angst in your review, look elsewhere. Go read a review on the new Modern Warfare games, people seem to hate those games.
Banjo Kazooie is a wonder to play from start to finish. I seriously believe I had a towel underneath me during the entirety of the game, because my mouth was hanging open and I was drooling everywhere. From the opening cutscene to the final battle, this game continually impresses. You are a shorts wearing bear, because every animal game star must wear clothes. Not only do you wear pants, but you have a backpack too! But inside that backpack is not school supplies, or travel necessities. You have a talking bird stashed in there. Don't ask, you'll never know. And the zaniness doesn't change throughout the game. Your sister has been kidnapped by a rhyming witch who wants to suck the beauty from your sister. Thus you and your backpack bound friend must rescue your sister from the evil witch by collecting jigsaw pieces scattered throughout the nine worlds.
Each world is an absolute wonder. From Treasure Trove Cove to Clankers Cavern, the levels are absolutely huge and full of interesting places to explore and characters to meet and challenges to overcome. Not only are the levels gigantic, but they are all varied in style, from beaches to mechanical caverns, to a haunted mansion, to the overworld, Spiral Mountain and Gruntilda's Lair. And they are absolutely gorgeous, with the graphic power of the N64 really coming out. The textures are not as flat as Super Mario 64, and the polygons aren't as sharply angled.
Ok, ok. I'm getting too excited about the level design... let's move on to something else. The gameplay! Yeah, that. So, you start off with a basic skill set and gradually increase the moves you can do by unlocking them in the game. But you don't just spend skill points you earn from leveling up. No no, you get them from exploration. And by that I mean exploring until you find a molehill. Because a mole is the one who teaches a bear with a backpacked bird how to fly. Yeah, I never said it made sense, ok? Regardless, because exploration is the main goal of this game, collecting the jigsaw pieces and musical notes necessary to move to the next area, finding these molehills just comes naturally, and you never feel like the game is saying "Now you must learn this move" even though that is exactly what they are saying. They hide it well. And the moves keep coming throughout the game, whether it is the ability to shoot eggs, fly, run exceedingly fast, they are all unique, so you'll never confuse one with the other, and all are useful. There isn't one that feels tacked on, or an after thought; each move is just as important as the rest. And then there's the transformations. THE TRANSFORMATIONS! A helper named Mumbo Jumbo, a shaman, will transform you into various things in exchange for tokens that look like him. Little prideful, Mumbo? You can transform into a wide variety of animals, though my favorite has to be the crocodile, because it is hilarious to see a green crocodile wearing bright yellow trunks. I mean seriously? Those colors do not match your scales. I'm just saying.
Whew, I'm working myself into a frenzy here. Better lay off the gameplay before I pull something. Let's move on to the sound, shall we? The sound is perfect. I must especially applaud the music, because the score is phenomenal. Each song for each world fits the setting perfectly. Because the worlds themselves, a desert, a haunted mansion, etc, are all so stylized, the music should follow suit, and it does. Each song is instantly recognizable as belonging to a particular world. Also, for those who bash the fact that the characters speak in Mumbo while you have to read the subtitles, it was a deliberate choice on the part of Rare, the developers, to allow the player more freedom in reading the characters. Also, how many times have people criticized games for terrible voice actors? That's because it's really hard to get right, and there are few games that do. So I think it worked just fine thank you very much!
Goodness, I'm getting rather into this, aren't I? Forgive me, let's let bygones be bygones and move on, shall we? Yes. On to the... I don't really know what to call it... the overall presentation? Sounds good enough. The game exists in a world all its own. The characters, the moves, the story, would not fit in any other world. It is perfectly crafted, and Rare never leaves it, never brings in story elements that don't fit, etc. The banter that goes on between the characters, especially Banjo and Kazooie, is fantastic. Always hilarious. In fact, the game is constantly hilarious. Whether its Gruntilda rhyming absolutely everything she says, or the crazy characters you meet in the worlds, this game had me laughing out loud, which is something not many games can do. Usually the humor feels forced. But this game, thanks to brilliant writing and an unabashedly absurd setting, takes the humor and seamlessly puts the game through its side-splitting paces.
And the ending deserves its own special paragraph, albeit a short one, because I can't spoil anything. Suffice to say, the ending was completely unexpected, yet somehow supremely fitting and satisfying. It takes the entire game, shows you everything you've accomplished up to the end point, and tests you about each aspect. I can't describe other than the perfect culmination to any game. It is everything you were waiting for from the beginning and then some extra.
That's it! I can't stand it anymore! All this talk about Banjo Kazooie makes me want to fire up the N64 and dive in! I can't keep my fingers typing this review anymore! MUST... PLAY... BANJO... KAZOO

Banjo and Kazooie   tornadocam
Today I am going to be reviewing a very popular video game. Today's game is Banjo Kazooie. I will be reviewing and critiquing this great game. So. let's get started.
Plot: 10?
The plot to this game is quite nice. It is a quite sunny day on Spiral Mountain, which is home to Banjo & Kazooie. Tooty, Banjo's younger sister is excited to be going on an adventure as soon as Banjo wakes up from his long nap. Meanwhile, on top of the mountain Grunty the evil witch is in her lair. She asks her pot, whose name is Ding Pot, a question. The question she asks is who is the prettiest and fairest of them all? Naturally, Ding Pot says while it is Grunty, any day. However, he says there is this young child named Tooty. The pot, tells Grunty that Tooty is young, sweet, kind and that Grunty would discover she is cute. This enrages the witch. She storms out of her room and plans to kidnap Tooty, and steal her beauty. The witch even has a machine that will steal Tooty's beauty and give it her. Tooty is talking to Bottles the mole, when Grunty swoops down and kidnaps her. Tooty puts up a fight, which alerts Kazooie. Kazooie, wakes Banjo up and they rush outside, but it is to late. Grunty challenges Banjo to come to her lair and rescue his sister. Bottles says he will teach the duo moves to help defeat the witch. Banjo & Kazooi set out on an adventure to rescue Banjo's sister as well as meeting friends along the way. However, Banjo soon discovers that going through Grunt's lair is not going to be easy.
Okay, I really liked the story of this game. I thought Rare was really getting creative in making up the story. Moreover, the plot introduced the characters and their personalities very well. Also, the plot is simple, players know from the start who the bad guys are as well as who the good guys are. I cannot think of many games that had a creative but simple plot. The Mega Man and Mario games have plots like that. I could also make an argument for Donkey Kong Country as well. Outside, of those games though you do not see many games that have a solid plot. Thus, I give the plot to this game a perfect 10 out of 10.
Graphics and Controls: 10?
What can I say, the graphics really blew me away in this game. The worlds are nice and colorful. The backgrounds are so amazing. The ice level looks like an actual winter wonderland. Not to mention, that world's Christmas theme was amazing. The swamp level, looks like an actual swamp on a hot muggy summer day. The forest level, looks like an actual forest. The graphics really shine in the forest level, because all 4 seasons are represented in that particular level. During winter snow will fall, which is a nice touch. The spring area of the forest level has rain falling from the sky. The summer area's graphics look like a hot dry summer day. Finally, fall in the forest level has different colors of leaves falling down. Moreover, the graphics really show what the Nintendo 64 was capable of at its peak. In addition, the sprints of this game are also amazing. The characters do not appear to be out whack, even when they change angles.
The controls in this game were so amazing. No matter, what moves the player does Banjo feels so smooth. I remember playing this game for the first time. I could not believe how smooth the controls were. Since, this was the first game in the Banjo series I thought there might be a few lags hear and there. I was wrong, they are no lags in this game. In my opinion games do not get much better than this on controls. Banjo and Kazooie actually rivals some of the best Mega Man games concerning controls. Therefore, I give the graphics and controls a perfect score.
Sound: 10
The sound of this game was also amazing. I cannot really think of any bad tune in this game at all. My favorite tunes to this game were the ocean, swamp, ice and forest levels. I found the music in this game to be catchy and relaxing. Great games should have that kind of music in them. Sometimes, I will just stand at the level's entrance listening to the music, it is that good. Also, the sound you hear when you get a jiggy is a nice touch as well. Moreover, the enemies sounds are kind of funny in this game. Some of the enemies will grunt when they see you. If you kill an enemy they moan and groan, which I find amusing. Banjo and Kazooie has awesome sounds to it. Based on that virtue I give the sound a solid 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness and Depth: 9?
Banjo and Kazooie can be addictive to play. I often play this game the most of all my Nintendo 64 games. What is there not to love in this game? The levels are fun to play through again even after beating the game or completing the level. In fact, a lot of the levels will need to revisited again and again to get all the items. I really like games that have a high replay value.
The depth of this game was also good. There are lots of items to collect in this game. First of all, the player will need to get all the jiggys in this game to get to battle Grunty. In addition, music notes will need to be collected to open up worlds. Moreover, every world has honey combs and other stuff to collect. So yeah, this game has a lot of depth to it.
Difficulty: 9
Banjo and Kazooie, can be a difficult game for several reasons. First of all, as I mentioned in the depth section you will need to get all notes and jiggys. Failure, to get notes or jiggys will result in you not being able to open up worlds to progress. I want to think if you do not get all the items you cannot even battle Grunty. Second, getting the items requires creativity and skills. The items are not usually in plain site; they require skills to get. In fact, some of them require you to beat the clock to get them, so that makes this game tough. In addition, the enemy placement in this game can be very bad especially in the later worlds. Starting, with the swamp world enemies will hit you from behind or just try to swarm you. You, can easily lose a lot of health in this game. Also some of the platforms are tiny so falling is almost a given in this game. Moreover, unlike the second game in the Banjo series, you have lives to lose in this game. If you lose all your lives in this game, it is game over. There are a few reasons why I did not give the difficulty a 10 in this game. The enemy placement can work against you, but you can use it to your advantage. Most of the time when you kill enemies they will drop energy in the shape of honey. So, use the numerous enemies to your advantage. Also, the enemies do not re-spawn so that is a good thing. However, if you leave the world then the enemies will be back. Also, the moves that Bottles teaches you will really help you so pay attention. So, this game is difficult but they try to help you out in a few ways. Still, this is a hard game and I give it a good rating of 9 out of 10.
Overall: 9.4?
I remember playing this game at my friend's house when I was in middle school and that was in 1999. Banjo & Kazooie came out in late 1998 I believe. I did not get a Nintendo 64 till 2010. I purchased the 64 system at a discount store I sometimes go too. Banjo & Kazooie was one of the first games I got. It turns out the discount store had a copy of this game. So, I was reliving my youth, I played this game a lot. Here it is 2014 and I still play this great game. I really liked this game it is one of my favorites. The plot, graphics and sound are all good. Also, this game has a lot of depth to it, and it challenges your skills to. I really like games that offer a challenge it just makes getting deep into the game special and an accomplishment. I will be honest I just love to play this game to get to my favorite levels in this game. Games, really do not get much better than this. In fact, the only other games that rank better than this one are some of the Mega Man games. I would rank Banjoy & Kazzoie in my top lists of favorite video games. I know it may be comparing apples to oranges. But, this game in my opinion is up there with Mega Man X2, X3, X6, 7, V, IX, 5, 4, and 3. I also think this game is up there with another game series made by Rare, and that is the Donkey Kong Country series. Therefore, would I recommend this game. By all means I recommend this game. If you are new to the Banjo and Kazooie series I highly recommend this to be the first game you played. If your looking for great things a great game has you will find it in this game. Thus, I give this game a very good rating of 9.4. If you haven't played this game yet, then I hope you will take the time too, and enjoy.

Find those Jiggies!   MoblinGardens
I used to have an addiction to this game when I played it on my Nintendo 64 when I was little.  This game just blew my mind.  It's just that there is so much to do and so much to see.  Banjo Kazooie was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64.  It sold just about two million copies in the United States alone.  I am not surprised it sold that many copies in one country.  Banjo Kazooie is most likely around the top for best plat former ever made for the Nintendo 64.
Let's get right into this review talking about the graphics in this game.  They are simply beautiful.  It is very difficult to describe in words about how great the graphics are, but, I'll try any ways.  First off, they are very colourful and detailed.  If your running around in a grassy field, the green looks great.  It has very nice shading which is admirable.  To talk more about detail, in a world such as "Rusty Bucket Bay"  you would think that the world would look all rusty.  Right you are, the textures in this place are really nice and the rust on the walls actually looks in place and has nice detail.
Now moving onto the sound.  Banjo Kazooie has a great soundtrack.  It has many great instruments that all play in unison to make a great music piece that really fits the environment in the game.  For an example, in "Treasure Trove Cove", you have steel drums playing because it suits a beach nice.  When you hop on in the water, the music will die down and you will start to hear a kind of music from Jaws and a shark will start to attack you.  Character sounds are also fantastic as well.  Going back to the shark in "Treasure Trove Cove"  he will making biting noises when he is getting close and tries to snack on you.  It's not like some other games where he will slowly float towards you and lightly tap you with no sounds what so ever, you take a part of your health.  No, Banjo Kazooie has character noises for everything.  Whether you are doing a large jump, attacking, shooting eggs.  It's all there.
Third on things to talk about is the addictiveness of this game.  I'd say a developed quite a liking for this game over the years I have played it.  You are very likely to play this game again just for the sheer humour of the characters, the story and even just to collect every last collectible in the game.  There is also multi player for you to play with a friend when you no longer have anything to do in the main game (Which will take a long while).
Now we shall talk about the story.  Basically, it goes like this.  There is an evil witch named Gruntilda, but everyone just calls her Grunty.  She was talking to her cauldron one day, and she asked it "Who is the most beautiful of them all".  The cauldron then replied, "Why, it's Tootie".  (Banjo's Sister).  Grunty then races off and kid naps Tootie and throws her into a machine, which will extract all of Tootie's beauty, and hand it over to Gruntilda.  Banjo finds out what is happening and drags Kazooie along with him to save his sister and defeat Gruntilda.  I personally believe that this is a very original story.  Bringing in the machine to extract Tootie's beauty was a genius idea.  I also find it funny how the cauldron, as well as many other non-living items, can talk.
We will now talk about the Depth of Banjo Kazooie.  First of all, there is a total of nine worlds throughout this entire game.  You access these worlds by collecting enough of these puzzle pieces called jiggies,  to open a portal, so you can advance to the next world.  There are also musical note doors spread around the main world (Gruntilda's Lair)  in which you have to collect the indicated number of notes through out all the worlds to open the door.  In total, there are 100 Jiggies, 900 musical notes, 115 Mumbo Tokens, 16 Honey Combs, and 45 Jinjo's.  To straighten some things out, Mumbo Tokens can be taken to a shaman who will transform you into something (Such as a termite) if you have the required number of tokens.  Honey combs will increase your health by one point if you collect enough of them.  Last but not least, there are five Jinjo's in each level.  When you collect all five Jinjo's for each level, you are given a jiggy.  To beat the game and collect every last item will take you a very long time which is good when you are looking for a nice long game to keep you occupied.
Last, we will talk about the difficulty.  Not all of the collectibles are handed right to you.  Sometimes you will have to solve a puzzle, fight someone, or even just simply (or not so simply)  find the item somewhere in the world.  This can get very difficult as time when the puzzle isn't all that obvious such as shooting an egg into a bucket to drain some water.  The actual plat forming does not get very difficult until some of the later levels.
Overall, I believe this game deserves a spot around the top of the best plat forming games for the Nintendo 64.  Banjo Kazooie really does a good job of making a quirky game into a master piece.  Did I mention that there is great humour in this game as well.  Some of the jokes they say are actually pretty funny.  In conclusion, these fantastic game deserves an all out 10/10.  It completely deserves a rating like this.  If you have not checked this game out yet.  It should land a spot on your to-do list.

Banjo-Kazooie Review, by Gary the Gamer   Gary the Gamer
Ah, Banjo-Kazooie, one of many amazing titles developed and released by Rare(ware) on Nintendo consoles before they slipped into the Dark Ages. The aforementioned company, Rare, are well known for their timeless and great video games, such as the Donkey Kong series, Star Fox, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, and Goldeneye 007. All of these games impressed the public-and Banjo-Kazooie wan't any different. Released in the summer of '98, this game was immediately met with positive reception from gamers and critics alike-and with good reason. The game was successful enough to spawn a great sequel-Banjo Tooie-but we'll talk about that another time. I shall highlight the reasons for its success below-so, please, sit back, relax and enjoy the review.
Firstly, the Graphics.
The graphics in this game were-and still are today-constantly praised for their outstanding and appealing appearance. And so they should-they are eye catching right from the start, as the game opens with a colorful and cheerful cutscene, in which we see some of our main characters-the titular characters Banjo and Kazooie, Tootie and Mumbo-play an array of musical instruments. All of these mentioned characters have clear and clean models, and are nicely presented. Most of the enemies in this game share the same trait. The worlds are all highly detailed, and this really does add to the atmosphere in the levels. You are almost always surrounded with an array of colors-in contrast to Super Mario 64, where the walls just seemed to be shaded and not actually colored in. The animations in this game are all great, and there are only a couple of setbacks I can think of.
The first setback would probably be some of the enemies. A prime example would be Bawl the Turnip, an enemy encountered in first area of the game. He just looks like he has no texture(which is ironic, considering he is an garlic bulb) and another example would be the skeleton enemy in Mad Monster Mansion. I think he looks unfinished, in a way. Another setback would be the appearance of water in this game. I think it looks almost like a solid. That might just be me, actually.
Nonetheless, this game really did push the system to its limits, and the graphics may be on par-if not superior- to other N64 blockbusters, such as Donkey Kong 64 and Super Mario 64. And with only a few setbacks, and a whole lot of pros, I rate the graphics a 10 out of 10.
Secondly, the Sound.
The sound in this game is another contributing factor to this games success. Many of the musical scores in this game are beautifully composed, and all of the muscial themes fit their respective worlds perfectly. Items which are commonly associated with the worlds actual theme are used in the worlds music, such as an organ in Mad Monster Mansion(an organ is typically associated with horror, and MMM's theme is horror) and the foghorns in Rusty Bucket Bay(RBB is set on a ship, and foghorns are found on ships). I found this technique to be very clever.
There is also a wide variety of music in the game. This game contains music which is mellow, music which is frantic, music that makes you panic...and I can't point out any mishaps with the music. The sound effects in this game aren't as good in my opinion, however. Sure, there are some great sounds, such as the evil cackle of Gruntilda or the carefree, goofy laughter of Banjo. But then there are the nasty ones, which make my ears hurt. Examples include the humming of bees and the attack sound of the pipe enemies in Rusty Bucket Bay. As with the Graphics, however, these are only minor mistakes, and overall, the sounds rival those of Super Mario 64 and even-to a certain extent- Ocarina of Time. I am rating it a 9.
Next up, Addictiveness.
This is just one of those games that I find myself coming back to time after time, mainly because I am trying to beat my fastest time or doing something stupid like playing through the game without losing a life. This is a game which you can play time and time again because of the sheer amount of collectibles there are to find, including Mumbo Tokens, Jinjos, Jiggies and Notes. Collecting everything 100% would be a proud accomplishment and to beat it with loads of time to spare? Awesome! Everyone would wanna do that, right? But after a while, it does become pretty boring. It isn't like Super Mario 64, where you can try different techniques over and over again, because it goes through one world at a time. I am rating this a 6 out of 10.
Now, the Story.
The story for this game is just like many other N64 games-short, but detailed cutscene at the start informing the player of the current events. The cutscene explains that Gruntilda, the evil and haggardly witch, is sick and tired of looking ugly. She becomes envious of Tooty's (Banjo's younger sister) looks, and, as any other normal person would do, flies out into Spiral Mountain, snatches Tooty on her Broomstick and flies back into her mountainous lair. When Banjo hears the commotion outside, he goes out to investigate, but is too late to help Tooty, and Bottles the Mole tells Banjo about the kidnapping.
Unlike other N64 games, the story is kept fresh in your mind as you travel through Gruntilda's lair-she repeatedly taunts you as you proceed through her lair, and once you finally reach the top, a trivia game-with Tooty as the main prize-is organised by Grunty. Once you save Tooty from the clutches of the evil witch, Tooty reminds Banjo that the witch had escaped from him, and he climbs to the spire.
But, I can't tell you how she is defeated. Anyways, this story is one that has been used over and over again, but because it is brought to life in this amazing game, I'll rate it a 8/10.
Penultimate factor: Depth.
This game is one of those which seems huge for first time players, and then feels like it decreases in size the more you play it. The actual worlds themselves aren't too big, with a few exceptions. Mumbo's Mountain is small, probably two thirds the size of Bob-Omb Battlefield from Super Mario 64, but then you get worlds like Click Clock Wood, which must have at least 10 accessible areas inside of it depending on the season. Some are small, some are huge.
But the size of this game is not, in my opinion, determined by the size of the worlds alone, but also the sheer amount of collectibles waiting to be picked up. The game offers a lot of choices to be made, such as the order of the jiggies which you collect, unlike SM64, which follows a set course. The game has an awful lot of mumbo tokens, notes, jiggies and jinjos to collect in every world, and collecting every single one of them would be a proud achievement. I have already noted these reasons down somewhere else in the review, so I won't go into too much detail. But the amount of time taken to complete this game 110% would probably be a long time, unless you're going for a speedrun. I'm rating Depth an 8/10.
Finally, the difficulty.
The contorls in this game are easy to learn, and most of the movements in this game are expertly executed. Every button is used for a different function and none are wasted. All of the moves that Bottles teaches you are taught in a clear and easy to understand way, and are easy and effective. I don't really have much to say about controls...
Oh wait, the camera. The camera-while not the worst one in video gaming-is exceptionally tedious to use. To get it into the right place takes effort, and angles can often change abruptly, lkeading to the player messing up an important jump. And because you can't really change the sensitivity, you are stuck like that. I would go on to say that it is actually rage inducing in some cases.
The actual game itself, however, is probably among the easiest platforming games on the system. It can be easily completed, even with mediocre skill, because the movements of Banjo are so perfectly executed and worlds themselves pose no real threat. I feel that if it was a more challenging game, then it would be on par with SM64's difficulty. Because of the easiness, I am rating the difficulty a 6/10.
Well, that was it-my first ever review. I hope that you enjoyed it, and thanks for sparing your time to read my review. The overall score for this video game will be...a great 8!

This game is a bear essential   Nezumi
When you start this game up for the first time, you will automatically know that THIS GAME IS GONNA ROCK. Never have I seen such a well-done and out of the ordinary musical intro, even with all the latest video games on newer systems. This initial promise of great music and quirky humor holds true. This game has some of the coolest and wackiest tunes and shenanigans you will ever see on the Nintendo 64, and it has given me a lot of good childhood memories.
As far as the gameplay goes, this is, in my opinion, one of the best 3D platformers on this console, and is right up there with games like Super Mario 64. The controls are excellent, and the gradual addition of new moves and items lets you try out new techniques as you master the earlier ones. The flying mechanic is excellent, and allows pinpoint control while in the air. You will most likely appreciate this little fact when you try to obtain a certain Jiggy in the fifth area (no more spoilers! Play the game and you will see what I mean!). The various puzzles and mini games you have to complete provide a decent challenge, but nothing is head-splittingly difficult. That is, unless you try to solve a puzzle that requires a move from a later level. However, you'll usually know when you need a new ability to progress. Moving along to the game depth, you will need to explore every single corner of every single world if you want to complete this game in its entirety. And believe me, you will. The complexity and range of the various worlds are definitely worth scouting out, if for no other reason than, say, scaring a nervous walrus, taunting the local shark, or taunting termites from a safe distance.
The bodacious aesthetic effects complement the already excellent game created by the general gameplay. Every single one of the worlds are staggeringly different, and not a single detail is left out (not even glare on the portholes or the piles of leaves). All the textures are among the best that you will get out of an N64 game, and the animations in the game are smooth and flow well. The background music in each level will probably have you tapping your feet within seconds, and might even convince you to take up the banjo just so that you can play these musical masterpieces. I mean, I tried to learn a little piano for this reason.
Just a few last little notes about this game. This game has a good helping of laugh-out-loud moments, a decent amount of which come from a certain skull-faced sorcerer. The dialogue is full of wisecracks, some at the expense of "Chicken Legs." These taunts might give you a few insults to throw at your bear or bird archrival (just saying). I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to try a classic, quirky platformer that delivers in all the necessary categories.

Banjo Kazooie Jiggy Review   Fireproof
There is nothing less than high praises for the bear and bird in this epic adventure game. Similar to the Super Mario 64 game, Banjo and Kazooie go on an adventure to save Tooty by collecting numerous new moves, Jigsaw pieces, music notes and battling through epic worlds. This platform is a masterpiece of humor, excitement, adventure and puzzles, literally puzzles. We have Rare to thank for creating such an awesome game and collection of ideas. Like I said before, there's nothing but high praises for this game. You would not be disappointed by playing this game and it is literally one of the best I've played in my youth.
Graphics: 10
Simply stunning. When the Nintendo 64 released with this 3-D world that we could explore, it was just all around awesome. These graphics were fascinating because it took other adventure games to a whole new level. Compared to it's main competitor, Mario, Banjo could have easily become a threat. These graphics were great, everything from the opening scenes, title screen to the credits, everything about the game's graphics just pop and you see everything so perfectly. It's unique, exciting and very enjoyable.
Taking Freezee Peak as an example, the graphics are cool. The Christmas tree is all decorated really nicely, the Snowman is dressed with a scarf and top hat and just really nice to see creativity as pure as this without ripping off any other games. What's cool is that you are able to explore most worlds from top to bottom and the programmers made use of everything, even the buttons on the Snowman. Another great example is the last level you adventure to before climbing the lair to the final boss. in this level, you are able to explore the same level through the 4 seasons and it changes enough to where each season almost creates a new level aside from the main paths. The animations just add humor and fun on top of the graphics.
Sound: 10
The only annoying sound might be the Talon Trot you use a million times throughout the game, but it's faint and never bothered me. The rest of the sound effects almost add to the on-going music in some cases. The music is rather enjoyable. Each song really belongs in the levels they're played in. Some of my favorites would be the opening theme, Rusty Bucket Bay and the last level before meeting the witch face to face.
What's unique about the sounds is that some of the character sounds were done by the idea of taking select words or phrases and distort or warp the words into a mumble that characters would speak in the game. What you hear is a mumble when that mumble began as saying some profane word. I know this was also done in the sequel Banjo Tooie.
Addictiveness: 10
If you're a true gamer who runs through the entire game collecting everything and realize that there are some components that you can not collect, you will keep returning to the game trying to get them. I did this for years and it drove me nuts. Those items in question were the legendary Ice Key and those colored Easter Eggs. It absolutely held total control over me and ate at me day in and day out. I literally played the game 25 times from start to finish trying to see if I was missing something. The sounds, graphics, controls and just how fun it was overall just kept me coming back.
Story: 8
This story is pretty good. It begins with a bear and bird who climb the evil witch's lair to save Banjo's sister. With the help of their friends, Bottles and Mumbo, they learn new moves and turn into unique creatures. While you're on the adventure, you're constantly spoken to by Gruntilda who will rhyme everything. The rhyming must be something buried deep in the genetics haha. Anyway, the story expands on into the sequel, Banjo Tooie.
Depth: 9
Overall, the game is pretty in depth and takes time to play and win. First and fore most, each level is large and takes time to explore. There's a lot to see and a lot to do. You must collect 10 Jigsaw pieces while collecting the 100 hidden notes. The Jigsaw pieces open new worlds while the notes open the paths to those new worlds. If you fail at collecting all 100 notes and leave the world, you will be required to go back through and collect them all again. You don't need to do that with the Jiggies.
Another advancement is the sudden pop quiz you must take to progress further. You must pay attention to the sounds of characters, to the details of each world, even the world's names, names of other characters and more. This quiz really sucks if you don't remember everything like I did haha.
I also wanted to make note of the number of new moves you can earn. You can fly around most worlds and see how detailed or huge the world is. You can also learn to use different shoes that do various tasks. This all helps lead you to the secrets of the game.
The secrets of the game also expand the game. There's hidden codes used to enable access to the Ice Key and the 6 hidden Easter Eggs. What these do is still a mystery. Rare never wanted to release this information because they had big plans for it back on the Nintendo 64. Unfortunately, this drives me nuts because I can't stop thinking about what these could do for you to make your game better. The legendary Stop N Swap with no real answers; sad.
Lastly, the names of the characters were taken from the designers and programmers of the game. I believe that each character was given a name by each other programmers. That's pretty cool.
Difficulty: 7
Banjo Kazooie is not a very difficult game, it just requires a good chunk of time to collect the 100 hidden notes in each level and the 10 hidden Jiggies. Overall, there's a lot to do but it isn't too difficult to play. The most difficult parts of the game might be the Quiz game and the final boss. It's also pretty impossible to know some of the answers, it's not like the game actually tells you some of the answers. That adds a little spice of challenge if you're looking to pass with a 100%. 1 bad move might send you falling down a long way and into your death, but the controls aren't bad at all.
Lastly.
Banjo Kazooie has surprises and it's very fun. If you're looking for something different and tired of the same old Mario Bros. I'd recommend giving this game a try. Surprises, comedy and puzzles in this adventure platform makes for an all around unique and fun game. Whether you're a kid or an adult, it doesn't matter because the game is fun and worth the time either way. Try it out and see for yourself.

One of the best adventure games on the N64 next to Ocarina of time and Super Mario 64!   RedHotToddy
Ah, guys If you remember correctly, the last game I ever reviewed from Rare entertainment was Conker's bad fur day, this was a platformer like no other, It had alot of cussing, blood, and mature adult content, But let's take some time and look back at when Rare developed family friendly games, and this is one of them, Banjo kazooie, will this game be a hallmark in Rare's history? Let's found out!
Story-7/10
The game opens up with a shot of a big green village, this is spiral mountain, the place in which our hero Banjo and kazooie live, But we're looking at the outskirts of the village, where lies the lair of an evil old witch named Gruntilda (Or Grunty for short) Here, Grunty is thinking up of a plan to turn into a beautiful women, But then she suddenly gets the Idea to kidnap Banjo's little sister tooty, she then does so, and the only guy there to witness this is Banjo's best buddy bottles, a mole who will teach you new moves to help you out in the game. So the next morning, Bottles tells banjo and kazooie about this, Now It is up to  Banjo and his bird like sidekick to save the day!
Gameplay-8/10
Banjo kazooie is your typical 3D platformer, much like other games at the time like Super Mario 64 and Crash bandicoot, except the game takes a whole emphasis on item collecting, what I mean to say Is that each level has a bunch of items to collect, which include Music notes, Jigsaw pieces, These colored creatures named jinjos, etc. Our two heroes will also be learning a bunch of new moves from this mole named bottles (Who kazooie seem to has a huge hatred for as seen in the tutorial level) But they get along later in the game. Normal game items also include Big honeycombs, in which 6 collected gives you  an extra life points, Normal honeycombs which just refill your health bar by one, little statues which give you an extra life, And last but not least, they are these special skulls you can find, and once you find 6 of them, You can go to this dude named Mumbo jumbo, and He will turn you into a special animal required for certain parts of the level, Anyways, That is pretty much It for the gameplay!
Graphics-8/10
This game was made in June 1998, and at the time, A bunch of other 3D platformers were being released at the time, which include Crash bandicoot warped, Spyro the dragon, Gex enter the gecko, etc. And for what It is worth, It is pretty good! All the worlds you will be exploring are huge, beautiful, and bursting with color! Which is exactly what you would expect from a game like this. As for the characters, they are pretty sweet as well! Banjo is a honeybear, Kazooie is some sort of unknown breed of bird (If you know what breed she is tell me!)  Bottles I syour typical helpful dude, and so on. The HUD is pretty self explanatory, The top left hand corner of the screen shows how many lives you have left until game over and How may health combs you have left until you lose a life. Anyways, that is it for the graphics.
Sound-7/10
Probably my favorite part of the game! All of the songs that You will be hearing are catchy, bright, and fit the mood of each level you will be exploring very well. As for the sound effects, they are your typical stuff, but Is that a bad thing? No! Except most of the sound effects seem to be borrowed from Hanna barbera cartoons, you ahev your boings, booms, bounces, etc. One thing I like most about the game though is that all the characters seem to talk in some sort of gibberish language which is pretty darn funny if you ask me! A true staple of the series. Also, whenever you dive underwater, the music starts to change alot. Anyways, that is It for the sound.
Addictiveness-8/10
One thing you guys ask me, and It is, Will you ever play this game again? Of course I will! I mean the game just has that certain charm that makes want to come back and get everything else, I do remember playing this game nonstop when I first got it, And It is still holding up today. Thank you rare for all of these amazing games, Banjo, DK, Conker, Perfect dark, Goldeneye, etc.
Depth-9/10
One thing you should know, This game has alot of replay value to It! Each level has alot of jiggies music notes and whatnot to collect, expect for the jinjos, there are only 5 of them in each level, And the game is about 8 worlds long, so It will most likely take you 7-10 hours to beat it all.
Difficulty-7/10
Banjo's adventure is pretty fun, But If there is one thing I cannot get over, His adventure can get unBEARably hard! (Haha see what I did there?) Mostly that darn rusty bucket bay! But in all other parts of the game, I did not really have that much trouble. I mean, It is rare entertainment, so what to expect guys?
Overall-9.3/10
Well what else can I say, you must buy this game! It is one of the greatest action adventure games that you can get on the Nintendo 64 today! Right next to Super Mario 64, I gave this game a 9.3 because how insanely fun it is and how much It offers for you to do, so buy this game now, no explanation needed, just do It. This has been your favorite reviewer RedHotToddy, And I am signing off! See you guys tomorrow!

Long live the bear and bird heroes.   Gamsynboyz
From my experience of playing this oh so fun, wonderful and exciting game; there is quite a lot to talk about in this review of mine.
      In Banjo Kazooie, there sure are a lot of objects to collect; but other than that, the bear and bird combo are really quite charming;
and to my mind, it is rather sad when I fail and they die. However, that no longer matters to me now; what really matters is that I managed
 to get all the way to the final fight with Grunty at last. The end quiz may have been hard enough; but the final battle took me a while until I managed to beat her. Of course, it sure is scary to have to listen to Gruntilda's wicked laughter every time I save my game and quit;
when I lost the final battle, that sure beats all the times I have to hear that; especially when I get hit multiple times or fall off the tower.
Nonetheless, this is an excellent game for one to try; and I sure wish other players luck, as through my experience, quite a
bit of luck is needed to get through some of the obstacles that I have been through. One thing though, I wonder why part of her name is Winkybunion?
Graphics: 8
On how well the graphics of this game are done by Rare, I would say that they are decent; of course, I can very well compare a good number of enemies in this game (such as the carrot, cauliflower and onion at the beginning) to the type seen in "Conker's bad fur day" according to Rare's style. I can also compare the graphics easily to other Nintendo 64 games; such as "Donkey Kong 64" or "Conker's bad fur day".  Except for a few instances in which the graphics would totally go out, everything went totally fine for me; thank goodness. In the end, though Rare did a decent job; and thus am I satisfied with what the company has done.
Sound: 10
The sound in this game is just superb; the sound and music technicians at Rare sure have done a great job in this area. How they do it is through making the appropriate effects through the musical instruments and synthesizers to make me feel that I am right in the game with Banjo Kazooie; especially in the opening theme song, the villain's lair and the final battle music. But, of course there are other instances
too. I will leave this for other players to find out. One thing that I have noticed throughout the entire game is that Rare uses interesting variations of "The teddy bear's picnic".  Also, certain instruments used can easily be compared to Donkey Kong 64. All in all, the soundtrack of this game is well done; therefore making this game one of the best of its kind.
Addictiveness: 9
This game is O.K. for starters, but overall, though I do encourage others to try this game out, I myself have found this game to indeed be very addicting. Most of the time, I would not play any other game until this one was complete; because in this game, one really can be moved to keep trying until Banjo and his bird friend make it. Also, if one is a perfectionist, as I am myself, the game is even more addicting;
because everything must be collected at all costs; or else if the poor emulation fails the player (such as DK64 barrel blast levels for me),
than I do not know what can be done about fixing the game. Nevertheless, there are hardly ever any moments, other than the graphics, which ever do fail me or other players; only on rare occasions. This game is a great addictiveness starter for some people indeed; in entire game completion. Of course, addictiveness is good sometimes for game-players; but most people should not get too overly addicted with this game.
Story: 6
The story, as I have heard, is indeed an interesting Snow White variation; Banjo's sister, Tooty, is captured by Grunthilda for beauty reasons
because of the stupid magic pot giving away Tooty's beauty to the witch; just like the magic mirror in Snow White. Of course, however, you play as the bear and bird combo, (who represent the prince in Snow White) trying to rescue her; in the hopes that their efforts will not prove to be futile, through rescuing the lovely damsel/sister from the utter destruction of her beauty. Eventually, Rare sure makes the perfect Disney's Snow White comparison with Grunthilda's falling down. Also, just like the original story of Snow White, events do eventually turn out to become much happier; with regards to happy endings and such. Thanks to Rare, the story is excellent and hopefully, everyone is satisfied with how the story tends to unravel throughout the course of the game.
Depth: 9
Indeed this game does have a lot to offer in its extreme depth of gameplay; because this is what the game lives for. There are a lot of places, nooks, crannies and secrets to be explored and found throughout the game. Here is where I also wish the player much luck in finding everything; because if you don't, you will quickly find yourself to be outsmarted by the witch's traps in the lair. Here, there are also lots of objects to be collected in order to process through the game and not fail utterly: Jiggies, Jinjos, Musical notes, blue eggs, red feathers and invincible yellow feathers await the aspiring player of one of the best games that I consider was ever made by Rare. Thank-you, Rare, for making such an awesome game; and I sure hope, though you may have been bought out by another company,
that you continue; or if you haven't, start now to continue in making such great games like this one is.
Difficulty: 8
This is another factor of what the game lives for. For me, this game was hard and some of the controls and parts of the game, like flying in the air, doing the beak-bomb attack and using the talon trot to jump on the roof of a store-house in winter, are hard to master. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if the aforementioned controls and part have been hard for other people who are game-players too. Only once have the controls ever been irritating for me; and that was when the C-pad buttons were switched with the D-pad buttons; which can easily be switched back; thank goodness. This game is also one in which to expect a lot of dying if you do not have all the essential skills by which to survive the levels, or if the stupid camera angles are flaking out on you; as they have done to me sometimes, much to my dismay. Therefore, sometimes there is no choice but to have to do the task of getting across the game's difficulties the hard way; by going through the school of hard knocks in video-gaming and making the camera cooperate with your wishes. This is the life of all inexperienced gamers who are doing this and other games for the first time, and do not have any idea of how to make life easier; but don't worry, eventually people do get used to game controls and life becomes a whole lot better than what it was before.
Overall: 10
This game is great, and I definitely encourage others to try it. Long live Banjo the bear and Kazooie  the breegull! :)

A bear and a bird, is it a good mix?   DoubleD1997
Banjo Kazzoie is a game developed by Rare. It is the first game of the series and is where it started it all, but is this game really worth your time? and if so how well does the game actually present itself? This is my review.
Graphics-9
The game's Graphics are actually pretty good the game has nice view and a wide variety of scenery. The game is also very colorful throughout the game which brings the game to life. What also makes the graphics good is that the character design is very creative. Everything you see in the game is alive. In a way everything talks to you and has eyeballs which I think was really creative to be in a world where everything even objects have their own personality.
 Sound-10
This is where I think the game really put much emphasis in. The game has amazing music that fits into every world. I'm talking about tropical music when you in a beach, to bells ringing in a winter like world. Not only was the music great but the voice acting was good to, sure no character actually said a real word in that game but the mumbling that each character does gives better characterization. It makes the people think thats how the character would sound like if they spoke with real words. The sound effects are also really good to. When you collect an item the item makes a sound that is unforgettable. It is another element in the game that makes it more great. This is where I believe that the game had its strength.
 Addictiveness-9
This game is really fun it is an open world game which makes it unique. with all of its elements that are formed in this game gives it a really high replay value. Each world is very unique and is very fun to play and the games mechanics make it very fun as well. Even the final boss fight is fun it is original and requires all of your skills that you have learned in the game. After beating this game I would definitely replay this game because of how fun it is.
 Story-8
The games story is some what outrageous and weird. It is about a witch named Gruntilda wants to be very beautiful because obviously witches aren't pretty. So she looks into her magic pot and finds that that tooty, (who is the main character's sister) is really beautiful, so Gruntilda decides to capture her and is going to exchange looks with her with one of her machines. You would think that because Gruntilda is a witch she would have a spell for changing looks but I guess she doesn't. Anyways, Banjo, (who is tooty's brother) was sleeping when this was all happening and as soon as he wakes up shes gone! Now it is up to Banjo and his best friend Kazzoie (who is a bird by the way) to save his sister from the evil Gruntilda before they switch looks! I think that the story is odd but in a way funny. I mean think about it when someone captures someone you would think they would have a good reason to but this one is just out of the ordinary but I like that it makes the person find comedy in this game and I always like a good laugh.
 Depth-7
Okay this is where the game starts to get a little shaky. There is only a main game so that is all you can do. Fortunately the game is packed with content which make the depth of this game good. There a lot of things to collect so if your trying to 100 percent this game, its going to take you a while to beat. But if your just trying to collect the amount of items needed then the game for the most part should go pretty fast. It took me 20 hours to beat the game with 100 percent so just trying to beat it without 100 percent should take much less time.
 Difficulty-5
Now the game isn't that hard even trying to 100 percent this game it still isn't difficult. It may get annoying in certain parts but for the most part your going to have a easy time beating this game. The only difficult part I would say about this game is the puzzles that you must solve to get jiggies and the final boss fight was a little challenging, other then that I would say that this game is pretty simple.
Overall-9
I think that this game was very fun I would recommend this game to anyone even if they don't play platforming and collecting type games I would still think they would enjoy this game. If you played Super Mario 64 then you would enjoy this game. Banjo Kazzoie is a fun game and I could tell you now I look forward into playing Banjo Tooie. I give Banjo Kazzoie a 9 out of 10.

Banjo Kazooie Review   Pokegeek
Banjo Kazooie-one of 3 games I owned on the N64. I didn't like this game very much as a kid, mainly because of its far-fetched atmosphere, and I could bearly  play it for two hours and then, I would just become too tired of the game and shut it down. But now I understand that it was made by Rareware(which was bought by Xbox a few years ago) who had also made the Donkey Kong series...Well lets get started.
Graphics-The graphics were okay for its time, a lot like super Mario 64 now that I think about it. The opening cut scene is one that I shall probably never forget, what with Mumbo playing the Saxophone and Xylophone which were finely detailed in my opinion. The worlds were vibrant and emitted a happy feel. Well, most did, not MMM of course... or RBB...well anyway, comparing it to the other games on the system, I'm going to give it a 10.
Sound-If someone told me the best thing about the game was sound I would hastily agree with them. That little piece of music at the start when the dragonfly is flying round is one you'll come back to over and over again. The theme of Gruntilda's Lair really catches the gloomy feel, and the way it ascends at the start reminds me of Banjo ascending the tower itself, to rescue his sister. Every single one of the worlds themes are catchy and they make you think of the worlds theme. As soon as you enter TTC and you hear its theme, you just know what it the world is going to be based on, same applies to FP, GV, and MMM. The music really did overcome any other video games music, and it set a bar while at it. I'm giving it a 10.
Addictiveness-Now lets say you were playing it for the first time, hadn't discovered any secrets, don't know where anything is, don't know what you'll see at the top of the treacherous tower. You'd naturally want to find everything in the game, which is quite a challenge, and get up there and finish the game. You would probably want to do it before anyone else, and become addicted, loving it so much that you didn't want to finish and see its mysteriousness disappear. But this game is so damn addicting when you need to finish it all, I'm giving it a 10
.
Story-Like many games of its era, Banjo Kazooie had a short cuts cene at the start, short cuts cene at the end, and the story finishes there. However, the main villain reminds you of the story and situation you're in by taunting you in her tower, keeping it fresh in our mind. I'm giving it a 8, because it uses tradition of Witch =Ugly Beautiful= Young Girl and swapping them around.
Depth-This isn't a very large game in size, but the amount of collectibles to obtain is staggering. Every Note, Mumbo Token, and Jiggy can be attempted to be acquired by some hardcore gamer, and they would probably give up on the mumbo tokens part. All three of those are hidden deviously throughout the worlds, and it takes a while to collect. I'm scoring a 9 for this.
Difficulty-This part was practically fully explained in the depth section...everything is hidden so cleverly in this game, and the final battle is hard for the first few tries...and that propeller jiggy, oh god...A 9 is scored for this, if the player chose 100% path
So, lets do a recount: Graphics:10  Sound:10  Addictivenes:10  Story:8  Depth:9  Difficulty:9
So, the overall score is...9.3!

Banjo-Kazooie Review!
Okay, I will do this review Completionist-style, by going one by one!
Banjo Kazooie seems as if it is going to be a boring collectathon to waste your time,
but hold your horses ( or bears )! Banjo Kazooie, a game by Rareware at the time, is a stellar
game that, yes, revolves around collecting things. But just because you collect things doesn't
mean it is a bad game! your time isn't wasted because all you HAVE to do is collect things!
The story was great, but the reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because it isn't very original, or so I
thought. It's just the classic "save the girl who was kidnapped" type game. there weren't very many
plot twists and, well, the gameplay was SO much better.
Now on to the graphics. At the time, Nintendo 64 game graphics were the most realistic anyone
had seen! And one of the games that represented the 64 graphics was ,of course, Banjo Kazooie.
I don't feel like it's fair to relate these graphics to games today, because games today don't just have 64 bits to
work with. So I say it's graphics are amazing.
The gameplay, as we already established revolves around collecting items. Items such as Jiggys, Notes, Feathers and Mumbo Tokens were some of the things you had to collect in every level. The gameplay was more unique than anything I've played on the N64. From transforming into things, to hitting flying or jumping platforms, this games gameplay was terrific.
On a last side note, this game was very addicting, and even when I couldn't beat a level, I found myself coming back for more.
And that's a Banjo Kazooie Review, done by I, JackPlays

The Bear and Bird's Maiden Voyage!!   Nidilap
Many games have been branded as a "collectathon", turning people off this game. This is probably the only series in Nintendo history where collection feels like it actively helps you go forward. You never collect anything for the sake of collection; everything has worth in it's own way.
GRAPHICS: In 2014, this game doesn't look like much. But when you begin, there is a level of charm not seen in many modern games. The only other game to have such charm could be Wind Waker.
Sound: Grant Kirkhope is a genius to making sound into an influential part of a game. EEekum Bokum!
Addictiveness: So many collectable items! AND THEY ARE INTEGRAL TO WINNING!
Story: Two best friends travel into the lair of an evil witch to rescue one of the friend's sister, with the help of a Shaman, a Mole, and little Jinjos.
Depth: This game is HUGE. mountains, pirate islands, castles, and so much more!
Difficulty: This game ain't no cakewalk. Sharks, Goblins, Lizard men, Dinosaurs, and other hordes of beasts want to stop your quest.

The fat bear and bird   linkspikachu1
Banjo-Kazooie is a fun game that everyone should play. The game difficulty is not to hard and not to easy. Its story is about a ugly old witch, Gruntilda,  who kidnaps a pretty young bear named Tooty, and plans to steal her youth and beauty. Her brother, Banjo, and his friend, Kazooie, try and save her and stop the evil Gruntilda. It has a lot of special characters, like Bottles the mole, who teaches Banjo and Kazooie new attacks and skills. Overall, it is a fun game and no one should not play it. Play the game right now.

This has been my favourite game since I was a kid it was always really fun to play but it does get very irritating when you die and have to collect all your notes and jin-jo's again. The graphics are good and the story works well but the music does get annoying sometimes. Difficulty was just right for me and my 6 year sister has an addiction to the game (and she hates most games) so basically what I'm trying to say is the game is really good and if you haven't played it yet I would reccomend it just try not to die because that is really annoying.

Banjo kazooie simple review   reese4222
in the game Banjo Kazooie, you play as a bear and bird named Banjo and Kazooie Banjo being the bear, kazooie being the bird, and you play this game to save banjo's little sister Tooty, because she got kidnapped by the antagonist Gruntilda the witch, who has created a machine that will quite literally steal Tooty's youth and give it to herself on the fact that she's a witch, whom are usually portrayed as being fat, old, ugly, slobish, disgusting, etc. So on your journey there is 9 levels in your way consisting of 10 jiggy's which are used to open up new levels and 100 notes which are used to open up new areas to Gruntilda's lair

I have a very huge nostalgia bias towards banjo- kazooie since it was the second game I have ever 100%ed. The story is amazing because it is very unique, and that is a thing that rare ware always does. It is one of the most addicting games I have ever played, getting jiggies feels very good and very satisfying. The graphics are very good for the Nintendo sixty four, which is another trait from rare ware. The game is not very difficult at the beginning, but near the  end it gets very difficult, which is a really good difficulty curve. So in review it is an amazing game that I would recommend to anyone.

This is the best game I've ever played. I've played it since it came out and never get bored of visiting it. Who else dreams of this game?

Just to think that I spent nearly two days in front of this game and then it f4ed me back a whole day. I was about to go on the gameshow and finish the game. I feel so dissatisfied. I hope the same thing doesn't happen with Tootie.

I used to play this every single day over and over again when I was little. There are some major glitches with the save f2 button on this game. Also, the game sometime freezes.
