Survive or Die!   Harley3651
I'm going to start off saying that I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series (known as Biohazard in Japan). I can't begin to tell you how many different times I've play through PS1 trilogy of the years. But it is a lot. In fact Resident Evil was the first game I got with my PS1 over 20 years ago. But I'm not here to talk about the lesser know spin-off of the franchise called Resident Evil Survivor.
Resident Evil Survivor was developed by TOSE (yea I've never heard of them either) and published by Capcom. It was released in North America on August 30, 2000. The game is touted as a Light-gun shooter, while that is true for the European and Japanese versions in the North American version it is not. I'll get into why its not for North America a little later on. But for now here are my thoughts on Resident Evil Survivor.
Graphics 5: The graphics are pretty hit or miss. On the one hand the pre-rendered environments are really great too look at. On the other the characters are to pixilated and lack detail.
Sound 9: The sound is amazing. Its what you'd expect from a Resident Evil game. From the zombies shuffling along to the music that plays ominously in the background teasing you that something might jump out at you around the next corner or through the next door.
Addictive 5: The game, while fun, is not very addictive at all. The game does offer branching paths but in the end they all take you to the same areas. Once I played through the game I felt no need to replay it.
Story 6: You play as a guy named Vincent, who after a helicopter crash, wakes up in Raccoon City trying to remember who he is. As you go through the game Vincent starts to have flashbacks of who he really is. For a Resident Evil game its an okay story. I never found the story too interesting.
Depth 5: The tries to have depth by offering branching paths. While that is great and each path does offer different challenges in the end they all lead to the same areas. Also the game only take about an hour to an hour and a half to go through. Also its one of those games you have to sit and play through in one go. There are no check points or save rooms. That means if you die you have to start from the beginning of the game.
Difficulty 9: The game is not really that difficult. The only reason I rated the difficulty so high is that the final boss offers the only real challenge of the game.
Rating 6.5: As I said the game gets more things wrong then right. While it offers good sound and decent difficulty it fails everywhere else. While I do recommend playing it, do so one time just to see what its about.
Back in my opening paragraphs I said the game is touted as being a Light-gun game. While in European and Japanese markets that is true in North America it is not. the reason being is at the time the Columbine shooting in Colorado had just taken place. So games like Doom and Resident Evil Survivor were under a microscope and viewed as corruptible to Americas youth.

no es dificil el jefe final,yo creo que se puede derrotarle mucho mas facilmente si le damos la espalda debido que sus ataques no nos hacen daños si no lo miramos por mas que nos toque la espalda.

This is a Resident Evil game that no one seems to know about, in fact this is my first time playing it. What makes this game unique is that it's 1st person.
