Batman, we hardly knew ye.OVERVIEW
It's a shame that something so good has to end" was what crossed my mind after seeing the end credits of Batman Arkham Knight , the latest in the saga of Arkham. The game suffered some criticism not only delayed but for attention to be paid to some things that maybe were not very important for the fans.Well, I finally had a chance to try and here are my impressions.
As always, I will begin with the story. It is very difficult to touch this issue without giving any spoilers so I will very subtly so not to worry. After a few months of peace and death of one of the most iconic enemies of Batman , city Arkham was quieter than ever. Even, it seemed strange that the huge power vacuum left in the underworld, has not fought a battle to take control of these criminal factions. But, surprise surprise, it seems that it was only a matter of time before the chaos reign again. Now it's the turn of the Scarecrow and mysterious enemy called "Arkham Knight," which will make you a hard time everyone's favorite bat.
GAMEPLAY - A+
This does not end here, as this pair of demons are not alone, have the help of several of the enemies of Batman: Two Face, The Penguin, Harley Queen, The Wasp, among many others who have joined forces to get it once and for all with the bat. When the game starts, you will notice that our hero will once again have thousands of moral dilemmas and that is where their enemies concentrate their attacks. As you progress, you will see that the morale of our hero will plummet as the shadow of his past returns to haunt him. The way in which this is handled in the game is superb. You take many surprises and more than a scare to deal with this, because it directly affects the story but not at all uncomfortable or bulky being taking these small visions.
This more than clear that psychological pain suffer on this occasion Batman, will be more deadly than physical pain, and if you add that throughout the city you will find great rivals, will make the challenges you put facing more difficult as progress. So far, I can say that history is one of the strongest points of Arkham Knight and did not disappoint diehard fans.
The gameplay is almost identical to what you saw in previous installments, so if you're a fan of the saga will have no problem to control the bat. If on the other hand you've never played a game of Batman Arkham, let me tell you that will not cost any work master, and if you get stuck somewhere, you can always use the "detective" way to know what you have to do.
You can make use of different technological gadgets that will help you solve all the puzzles in the game and are characteristic of the franchise. Recall that Batman, as well as being a hero, is also a great detective, so throughout the game you will find some unsolved mysteries as murder, arson caused no apparent reason, among many other things. The truth is that the mini games to solve these cases are quite entertaining and make you feel like a real detective. Since reconstruct the crime scene to process images, it's just a little bit of everything that you do in this release.
The town of Arkham is huge, though at first it does not. This is because now the city is divided into islands that are unlocked as you advance in the story. As always, Batman can use his special hook to reach the tallest towers and from there jump into the void and open his cloak to plan and navigate the city. This is where among the most exciting new title, the Batmobile . Many thought that this would only serve you a great car to move around the huge city, but no, the Batmobile is a jewel of technology and besides being very fast and have a large shield, can also become a kind of tank to destroy drones, which are scattered around the city, and that without it would be impossible to destroy.
Besides being a weapon, there will be some puzzles that can only be answered with it. At first some work cost control and maneuverability is not the best but after a while of practice will have no problem. Their weapons do not vary much during the game and this can be a drawback because I feel they could added to it some more.
Similarly, the combat is identical to what you already know. Press a button several times to give several press punches or combinations for special moves and kill more enemies. Upon successful completion of missions, you will experience points which will help you to improve your skills. You can access the main menu and improve your suit, the Batmobile or your various artifacts. This is helpful because if you ignore these facts it will cost you much time as you have to do more work to defeat enemies.
The novelty is that sometimes you can control another character during certain battles and perform combos together giving a spectacular result. Apart from the main missions, there will be several side missions and gives you the freedom to meet them when you create adequate. The point here is that somehow are linked with the central story so you will not miss anything if you decide to take some.
This gives you more hours to the game, plus if you're playing in the greatest difficulty, obviously it will take much more to finish, depending on your skills. Visually the game looks great, even though most of the time develops overnight. Both rain and sunsets that appear in some of the scenes are very detailed, and it gives a great plus to the game.
GRAPHICS - A
The designs of the buildings of the city from the tower to the Commissioner Diaz are worthy of a comic book Batman, and the night that covers fits together perfectly, because it is not as dark as not to see, but it is not so clear. Personally, the design of the Batmobile is my favorite, because the combination between tank and car was perfectly. In this regard, Rocksteady is exceeded compared to the previous games.
SOUND/MUSIC - A
The soundtrack of the game is very well chosen and each fits background tunes. It does not become monotonous and you really conveys that moment of excitement or frustration, depending on location and time. This is where I would like to take advantage of dubbing. I really like that you are finally listening to Latin American dubbing in some games. In Batman Arkham Knight you hear several voices known as the Idzi Dutkiewicz, who lends his voice to give life to Batman.
Also among some of the thugs you listen to actors like Mario Castañeda and Carlos Segundo,something that will bring a smile over several players. The detail here is the timing of the actor's voice to the characters, something known as "lip sync" . Sometimes, especially in the main characters, they stop moving his lips for a little while as you continue listening to his voice. This is more common than it seems, and although not a big mistake, I think dubbing managers could refine these details.
OVERALL - A
Batman Arkham Kinght is an epic conclusion of the saga. The game has everything: action, drama, frustration, excitement, surprise among many other things. The various types of puzzles, the large number of missions and all the fan service , make this the best game of Batman until today. If you are a fan, not only the series but Batman, you will be glad that you've finally created a whole saga worthy of the bat, and I expect this to happen in the future with some other heroes.
