Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing.

Moving Ebay Listings for the time being does not count toward any of the Jerseys. The price guide feature hasn't been retrieving ebay listings in nearly 2 years because of ebay updating their scripts and me not finding the time to update my own scripts to reflect that so what I've been doing instead is, every few months, I buy a price guide from PriceCharting.com and batch add the data to the games. There's no reason to allow it to count since it's not beneficial to the site at all since all of those ebay listings are very outdated and those prices no longer reflect what's current.

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Let the games begin!

I'm oddly excited about this!

I have no intention of actually competing in the strictest sense of the word. If I get points from posting and what not then so be it but I don't see myself writing a review every day or doing anything else CP wise in order to win but who knows. That might be a clever lie to make people not take me seriously

Still, I am hoping that posting will pick up this month because I do plan to post a LOT more often than I have been.

I have no idea what my plans are this time since I've been in my usual inactivity that comes with the 1st months of school. I kinda won everything I wanted last time so I don't plan on anything big XD

What I do know is I plan on cheering on some users and participating casually. I fell away from posting last month so I have some catching up to do.

SacredShadow : Wait, haven't I seen this before? Oh right, you had the rainbow banner with your old username. It looks just as great on your newer one!

Just as leaves change colors in Autumn, Vizzed users change their colors as the season progresses, a cyclical process that happens once every three months lasting for 30 days, after which the proud winners showcase their colors in another period of 30 days.

National Geographic aside, I'll be casually doing my thing, which will mean a few Red points every week and let's see if I don't end up getting a daily jersey for it if competition is nearly dead. Other than that, my wordy nature can work the magic and maybe get me in the top 20 for total points by the end of the season.

Let the best player win, and just like geeo returned let's hope we have a White Banner holder again even if it's just temporarily!

How often does this kind of event go on? i would be lucky if i can at least snag a blue Jersey at the end of the month
with very little being online doesnt really go well for me but we will do our best

SacredShadow starts out with the lead.

I really don't even plan on seriously competing, yet I was able to get a good amount of points off of a few brief posts. If I am able to grab a few points here and there each day, then that's good enough for me. 

KillerLatias : The Tour de Vizzed occurs once every three months, since it is still very early in the competition, it is entirely possible for you to earn a jersey/jerseys. In past TDVs, the first day featured very fierce competition and activity (oftentimes 50-100 posts was necessary to secure a high amount of points). Based on yesterday's results and how little effort I put into posting, there's a solid chance you could get a decent amount of points just by making 5-10 posts each day. Getting a jersey might require a little more work, but not much.

Despite my general inactiveness, I might take a shot at "competing" this season. I don't really expect to go very far, but I haven't really posted super actively in like a few years at this point, so I figure to give this a shot and see where I end up.

pacman1755 : that's kind of how I won a year and a half ago. I didn't really intend to compete but started posting when one started and then got into about 5 days in and basically took over when everyone else slowed down. It was a lot of fun to do and I was glad to finally win one.

SacredShadow : yeah, the last couple of years the TdV has not been the same level of competition as it was when it first started.

Still, it's nice to get extra activity on the site during the month.

Although based on how slow things have been I don't see me keeping 2nd. Not going to put much effort into red or green which limits how many points I'll get overall.

I'm getting up there in the Blue Jersey, that is the one I'm the best at. Hopefully I do good at that Jersey.

pacman1755 : I hope we both grab a decent amount of points this month! Both pac's have won the TdV so we might as well both keep going. I really want to get back to posting but school has made me push that aside. Maybe on Friday I'll have an opening, which would be a great way to relax after such a demanding week.

Well, one night I got 11 points and that was enough for a top 5 finish. And I didn't even get a title card! Wow, David.

Nah, it's pretty good to get 2 jerseys instead of just one, so good on no 8120.

Pacman+Mariofan : We can probably take over the TdV if we had a lot of free time tbh.

Kind of surprised I've managed to score in the first couple days of the month, but seeing how slow things have been I guess it's not that surprising. I was more active these past two days than probably half of September, which goes on to see how dead things were the past month.

Daily numbers aren't very high, but that opens the chances of close battles for a jersey and it more or less compensates. No one is really trying, but you never know when will someone pop up and vandalize this harmony dominate the competition by putting in some effort.

Competition is looking pretty fierce.

All joking aside, I thought it was pretty impressive for pac to come out of nowhere and manage to effortlessly snag 11 points and come in the top 5. I haven't been all that busy lately as far as school goes, but I can easily see myself losing steam/interest and falling behind. I know I have a few big assignments and projects coming up...I don't know though, I'll just have to see how things play out from here. It would be nice if I could keep things as they are.

I'd love to see 3 or 4 people (or more) stay close together through most of this competition and see it come down to the last couple of days.

I doubt it will happen but maybe everyone involved this time around is going to be casual enough that no one will build a huge lead early on.

pacman1755 : I agree with you. If I had less homework I could probably win this TdV too, but I didn't want to ever go for the rainbow banner again. But I especially don't want to go for the red jersey again. That battle was so intense and I'm surprised I didn't lose much sleep over it.

This might be, once again, the chance for a non-staff member to win the competition. That would be great, because we'd have 3 out of 4 TdV this year to have been won by non-staff and we started the year with the last 10 competitions won by staff members.

On the other hand, we could probably see no 8120 crowned the winner by focusing in just two jerseys but scoring high everyday. That's something we almost saw with Ferdinand back in time (you're never forgotten, no matter where you are), though now whoever performs well on a regular basis has a serious shot at the win and he seems like he can perfectly keep this pace all month long.

If no 8120 keeps doing his job this often and this much, he might actually steal the rainbow jersey for a bit, especially if everyone else slows down. Gotta say, that strategy worked for me once upon a time. Especially submitting lots of screenshots for CP+ and action+

Competition already slows down greatly.

Yeah, yesterday was a very slow day. Today already seems like there is more going on. Hopefully the slow down equates to more people willing to try and catch up. I'm not really trying to win I'm just posting and getting a few points here and there. I don't intend to win.

I wish I wasn't so busy yesterday, that way I could've at least netted a few points, especially since I would've only needed 6 posts to make it in the top 3 for blue jersey and most likely a top spot for yellow.

I'm hoping I can make up for yesterday's performance by being more active today and during this weekend.

I know people always complain about the Tour de Vizzed but sometimes it's what Vizzed needs to help circulate posting and that was especially true this time.

Before this TdV started, the site was averaging around 20 posts per a day for weeks. Now you can say that it's because school started back up but it's never been that dead in September. Last year in September we averaged around 200 posts per a day, September 2015 we averaged 250 posts a day, September 2014 we averaged around 300 posts, etc. Ultimately the problem is the lack of new posting users and that problem is because of the drop in traffic the site has seen in the past few years. I'm working on a solution to generate a lot of traffic again (through the means of mobile emulation) but until that happens, we definitely need to appreciate what the Tour de Vizzed does for the site because 20 posts per a day on average isn't something this site has seen in almost literally 10 years.

Thanks to the TdV, the posting traffic has jumped from an average of around 20 per a day to an average of 70 per a day. Still not very high but definitely helps bring the site to life and will hopefully help keep things circulating.

It would be fantastic to see no 8120 win a TdV. I know probably more than anybody else that he's a tough opponent. And yeah, he scores very consistently.

I could probably dedicate some more time to this if I kept up my pace in real life, but my lazy nature keeps getting in the way. Seeing how dead things are being, maybe I just need to hang in there and step up once I'm free.

I know I've said before that I don't really care for the TdV, but at least I'm willing to infuse it with life if I had the time (which can happen in the second half of the month). I only hope that I could reel in somebody, even if it's just for a few days, so things get a bit more lively and the competition gets a bit interesting. It would be disappointing if someone wins this without aiming for anything, because no 8120 is just doing what he does every other month, but I don't discard that he may push hard once he sees he has a clear shot at winning this.

EX Palen : I don't love it either but at the same time it does encourage more posting and more RGR activity which I do like to take advantage of.

And this TdV has been needed like David said. Getting things going again is important. I've always found it amazing how if just a few people get posting and making threads that the entire sites overall activity can increase. If we can get a few more people to join in making threads and posting then we could get the average above 100 again without too much trouble.

I'd love to see the site become that active again and hopefully when David launches the emulation thing he's working on it will draw in some new members that will stick around and post.

It doesn't surprise me that it did slow down already, considering that there isn't too many places to post with the overflowing inactivity. Guess everyone is slowly finding ways to grabbing threads that aren't 4-8 months old.

SacredShadow grabs 21 points after taking a day off.

not a bad day getting 12 points myself. I was getting pretty close to taking over 1st so I'm glad the lead got a bit bigger.

I really don't want to win but getting some points and moving up in the overall standings is nice.

I'm not opposed to winning if no one else does it though. Winning the TdV twice is not something I would hate

A TdV with no competition is like... wait, why am I trying to compare something to an internet competition?

SacredShadow : If you win this TdV, you'd pull a Pac. I won the last TdV ever since the 1st day because I was only competing against no 8120 for the red XD

Looks like I'm kind of safe in 7th as of now and could stay in touch with up to 5th if things keep going like this, meaning my best ever finish in the TdV. Maybe not the biggest of goals, but still something to fight for.

I'll try to see what can I do in the next days, which will be crucial both here and in real life because there's a very potential riot coming up for next Thursday. I just hope I can at least keep the pace, I've already wasted enough chances and I don't want to wait for the next one anymore.

It's kinda funny that I am in the top 5 in green jersey, even though I'm not trying to get CP actions! Guess that shows that there isn't too much active competition after all.

Alright, I'm finally here to help. The past few weeks have been nuts, and today I have a little opening (well, probably more time later but I don't know yet).

I'm not going for anything yet, sure I'll be checking results to see where I'm at but until the July TdV, there will rarely be any times where I stay up later to fight hard for my spot. My mom has recently pointed out that I keep staying up late on school days, and that I should be in bed at 10:00pm more often. I miss having more rest and waking up excited in the morning. That sounds sad, but it's hard to wake up happy when I'm so tired.

Another thing is that tomorrow I'm running a 5K in the morning, so it's crucial that I rest up tonight.

My availability to make posts and participate in the TDV varies day to day, especially if I am occupied with school or work for several hours.

Pacman+Mariofan : It would be nice if I could win this TDV from the very first day of competition, but I feel like I'll lose steam and someone else will swoop in and seize the win.

I'll just try to net a couple of points each day in case anything happens, that way if I miss an entire day of competition, I have a crutch to lean on without being completely out of the running. I don't really care if I don't get a jersey each day, so long as I get a top 5 position in one or more of the jerseys, I'm happy.

EX Palen grabs 2 Jerseys.

I'm amazed I managed to hit the title, been quite a while since the last time. I also managed my first ever Blue jersey, so now I should probably aim to clear Green off the list.

Overall numbers yesterday were very low. I was expecting that people would step up a bit in the 4 1/2 hours remaining after I logged off, but I managed to stay on top and even grab two seven pointers. Kind of sad I couldn't reel in anybody yesterday, I hope my future tries have better results.

Yesterday's jump puts me very close to 4th, with good chances to become 3rd if geeo scores lower than me. I doubt I'll catch the other two, they're consistent and, at least in one case, persistent. I better focus on getting more points outside of my staff role, which will be busy next week once again, so I can fight for the overall podium.

I'm kind of surprised that McDavideo7 didn't open today. Have we also lost that tradition as well?

SacredShadow : Getting a couple points each day just in case is a good plan. In July I didn't compete on Sundays so I wanted to make sure I was safe in the rankings before then.

luigi25 gets his first Jersey.

Well, yesterday things picked up quite a bit. Looks like today we have a similar trend, so at least not every single day will be dead in this competition.

We're done with the first week of competition, and I'd never have guessed I'd be 5th with three daily jerseys collected. Not sure what can the future hold, but for sure this seems to set the ground to my highest finish ever, and I'd have to check for my points total in a single competition because I'm sure I can break that as well.

Let's see how things progress from here on out, I have a few personal milestones in mind and I'm trying my best so they all happen before my birthday comes less than one month from now. It'll be fun seeing how my chart evolves before I ultimately decide if I focus on it or just do my thing to clear personal goals out of the way.

EX Palen : I'm hoping the next few weeks of the competition will be about as active as yesterday was, but users will have to make more threads to keep it going. I already have several ideas in mind for threads so eventually I'll get around to making those to boost the activity further. Have a fun time trying to reach those goals!

If I'm able to keep posting a few times a day when the homework isn't too much, I'll likely make my way into the top 5 soon. I definitely won't be competing with near as much dedication as last time. But who knows, maybe I'll end up getting an overall jersey again even if I don't mean to. I didn't plan on it but if it's close I might go for one when I have plenty of time.
