Alright. Sorry for the delay, everyone. We were having some unexpected connection issues.

In addition to going by this set of standard Monopoly rules, we'll be adding a few house rules for the sake of making everything run smoothly in forum game form. Additional rules are as follow:

--Each player's turn starts after a board update. From that point, the player has 36 hours to take their turn before they're skipped. If a player's turn is skipped a total of five times, they'll have their assets repossessed by The Bank, their property auctioned to the highest bidder and be kicked from the game.

--Open property auctions will be replaced by silent auctions. All players will send a private message to the banker either with their bid or stating that they're uninterested in the property. Auctions are open until all players have messaged the banker or for a maximum of 36 hours. All rent due for property that's up for auction are to be payed to The Bank.

--Rent due to the owner of a property is to be claimed before or by the beginning of their next turn or is otherwise forfeit.

Otherwise, we won't be using other common house rules like having to go one lap before buying property or putting cash on free parking.

For example, you let me know that you want to roll, trade, mortgage property, develop property, etc. whenever such options are available. In other words, you'll actually be somewhat invested in the game.

No wonder why the day is very cloudy around here, nothing is shining for me right now. Screw lucky 7 and whatever tiny bit of luck I was hoping to have.

You made the right choice for me, because it was the lowest amount. It's the logical assumption by default, at least at the very first turns, but whenever we must decide on something it will be better if the player makes the choice, unless it's extremely obvious what they're going to pick.

I don't mind about the reversed text, seeing how you will always point out where we're going to land and their effects. If nobody else thinks otherwise, we can leave the board as it is.

As for summoning us all, I think you should only summon the people involved in the turn. This turn, for example, it would have been just me, because I rolled the previous turn, and MLF for rolling this turn. Next one should be MLF and Uzar, just so we update on MLF's choice about his turn and let Uzar know of his roll. I don't mind being summoned every time so I get an update whenever a turn passes by, but it will be easier for everyone to just summon those who have to make decisions or have something to say.

Lol i never played real Monopoly in English before so i'm gonna ask what you mean with "will it go to auction"? I'm guessing it's skipping the purchase or so?

I totally want to be summoned every turn if that's okay. I also know however, that it could be difficult remembering who to summon every turn and who not to. I want to be summoned because I could miss an auction, or miss it if someone lands on my lot, or even not know who owns what. For example, I'm slightly less inclined to buy Atlantic Ave. if player A owns Ventnor and player B owns Marvin Gardens, as trying to complete a set by trading with two different people is going to be a challenge.
But that's just me.

As for the text, I prefer it as is. :V

Don't worry about being late. I've been dealing all day with an incredibly beautiful hangover, so I haven't been able to do much through the whole day.

Lucky 7 for me again, but this time it worked its magic so maybe we should put a "blow dice" item into this game. I'll take St. Charles, and seeing how I still have plenty of time for the auction I can give it some more thoughts after this purchase.

Well, tbh, the rules are so confusing and i don't have enough time to read them all on the internet... I'm gonna learn how to play the official English variant first.

EDIT: Forgot to ask whether there's a downloadable variant of the game rules or not.

MarioLucarioFan64 : I hadn't considered that using the original American board might throw some people off because of the various localizations. I don't know the details of Dutch Monopoly, but it seems like most localizations just have a change in language, currency and property names.

Pretty much your current option are to roll or try making a trade with another player. I wouldn't think a trade would be likely this early in the game, but you're welcome to try. Really, my recommendation is to go ahead and roll but it's your choice. Also, I'll see if I can find a PDF of the rules so you can download it.

Also remember that there've been several auctions. If there's property that's being auctioned, you can bid on it and try to win it.

MarioLucarioFan64 : I take it then that you played under heavily modified house rules, because I don't see how could you be confused otherwise. I'm Spanish and I'm not feeling any different from the way we used to play at home (I don't remember having auctions but I have seen them in Monopoly videogames).

And just when I was wondering how to handle being the player running lowest on cash, here I get the chance to boost myself up a bit!

Not sure how are we actually supposed to claim rent. Logic says I should summon the player who landed on a space I own to tell them the good news, but we don't manage our cash here like in the real game, so maybe stating the claim to the banker so he deduces the amount from that player?

Also, we should probably add something in the OP about the rent of each space. Right now it may not serve a big purpose, but as the game progresses, constructions are built and players run low on cash we should have a source detailing which spaces are forbidden to us. I know the banker can tell us whenever we've landed on "forbidden" spaces, but knowing it beforehand will help the players to better plan their strategy.

EX Palen : I knew there was something I was forgetting to do at the beginning of the game. I updated the OP with a list of all the properties and their rent values for each stage of development. For now, St. Charles only gets you $10, but that's something.

As far as claiming rent goes, you can summon the player or just post stating that you're claiming your rent along with whatever else you'd like to do on that turn. Speaking of which... anything else before your next roll? Anything else I might've missed that should be up?

Sure, I'll buy. This way, I'll have the northern and southern railroads. May not be the best couple of properties to have, but still something that can come in handy in the future.

MarioLucarioFan64 : Yeah, you can still claim your rent. You can claim it anytime between him landing on your property and the beginning of your next turn. Just remember that, if you don't claim it within that window of time, they're not required to pay.
