I've been writing the past few days. I was updating my fanfics on Fanfiction and AO3 while uploading previews on dA. I also started writing a Lord of the Flies oneshot I promised someone I'd write on FF. Then, an old story idea I had thought of came to mind...

And I started writing that out, and I posted it on FF. I'm in the process of posting that on AO3, but I gotta at least figure out the plotline or where this story is heading before doing so. And since there are a few people who for some reason love my writing, I'll share what I wrote here. This is something I would normally not share here. I usually don't share any long fanfics I write here cuz... I actually don't have an answer for that lol I just share oneshots on this site. But idk. If you read this, maybe post and tell me if I should continue sharing this fic on here.

On to the story...
~~~
To say she hate her life was a huge understatement. Imagine being Miki, a girl working endlessly from dawn to dusk, selling everything she once own so her own family won’t starve or be separated. The rain continued to fall, and Miki continued to walk without an umbrella, the rain soaking her clothes and dampening her hair, even bringing her ahoge down. The rain seemed to reflect the mood she has been in for roughly three months now. Even if her seventeenth birthday - and one of her younger sister’s ninth birthday - was coming up, Miki couldn’t find any joy for it. How could she with her life the way it is?
Of course, Miki could look at the brighter side of things…
She’s no longer attending school anymore, so she won’t have to see the people she despised the most.
No more arrogant, manipulative Miku to sneer at her and spread rumors about her.
No more mean-spirited, haughty Rin to serve as Miku’s watchdog and convince everyone to bully her.
No more Cul stealing her items and vandalizing her items.
No more Len and Kaito…
No more of them lying to her.
And suddenly, her vision became blurry, and her footing began to fail her. Soon, she felt the concrete and she couldn’t find the will to stand up. Her eyes closed, and Miki could no longer hear the worried cries that devoured her
~~~
“Miki,” her mother called for her. “Your father and I are going to a party tonight. Remember to tuck Rin and Sakura to bed, okay?”

“Yes, mom,” Miki nodded.

“That’s a good girl,” Luka smiled and rubbed her eldest daughter’s head. Miki had sensed that her mother probably wanted to stay with her for a little longer. “I’ll see you later,” she told her with a smile.

Neither mother or daughter had suspected that it would be the very last time they’d ever converse with each other.

“Hello? Is this the Hiyama residence?”

“Yes,” Miki answered the phone call.

“I’m afraid I have some rather bad news…”

As she heard the voice through the phone explained the events of the night, Miki’s eyes widened, unable to take in what she heard. First, the phone fell on the floor. Then, she knelt down to the ground. Afterwards, the tears came, and lastly, her sobs had awoken her four younger sisters in the house.

“What’s wrong?” Iroha crouched down and held her older sister.

“Why is Miki-neechan crying?” Rin asked, holding her rabbit doll in her arms.

“What’s going on?” Yuki stepped in, followed by Sakura who held her teddy bear in her arms.

Miki couldn’t speak. She couldn’t take in the reality of her situation. She didn’t want to believe what she heard. It had to be a dream. Her mother had told her they’d return home, and they would still be the happy family they always were. A teacher and a chef, happily married with five daughters, all of them together, smiling and enjoying their day, even when Miki’s school life was already tough on her.

But those days were over.

Miki’s parents are gone, and they will never return to her or her sisters again.

~~~
“I see you’re awake.”
Miki had been staring at the ceiling for a long while, haunted by the memory of that morning three months ago. She couldn’t bring herself to sit herself up, feeling the rag on her forehead.
“I saw you fell on the streets, and everyone was freaking out,” the voice explained. “I decided to take you home and take care of you. I hope you don’t mind. I used your phone to call someone at home. I was able to contact a girl who said she’s your sister.”
Immediately remembering what has happened the night before, Miki sat herself up quickly, only to regret that decision when she felt her head ringing harshly. Soon, arms surround her and rubbed her to relax her.
“You still have a high fever,” they told her soothingly. “Please rest for a little while. I also gave your sister my address so she can come see you later.” Listening to him, Miki relaxed easily, and she couldn’t help herself as she snuggled her head into the stranger’s chest.
“Thank you,” Miki whispered, and she found herself admiring the scent of the stranger, and she began to succumb to slumber once more.
Seeing she fell asleep, Roro gently laid her back down. He couldn’t help but smile, thinking of how cute she looked when she’s asleep, and that she can recover if she continue to rest. Of course, he convinced her sister on the phone that it would be best if Miki stayed with him until she recovered from her fever.
“No…. please don’t go,” Roro heard her whisper softly in her sleep. “Please don’t leave us.” He dipped the rag into the bowl of water, and after wringing it out, he placed it back in her head.
“Rest well,” he whispered, standing up from the bed, and leaving the room. “I gotta see what’s online now. What new covers are there now?” He spoke to himself. Logging into Nicovideo, he began to see the new songs posted online. Seeing a new upload from his favorite producer, he plugged in his headphones and listened.
“Yuudachi no Ribbon… it sounds very nice,” he smiled. “I should cover this as soon as possible.”
Since I actually read the whole thread, I'm going to continue on by saying yes, you should definitely keep posting more about this story on here, as I would enjoy that. Also you really started and opened this out nicely and I'm a little on and off about this but I'd be ready to see the continuation of this.
Sweet stuff. Sweet song.
Haven't read your work before, but if I had to guess one reason why some love your writing is because of what you cared about and focused on, Miki's situation felt really sincere and not done for dramas sake, if that makes any sense.
Vanelan :
Good news, I posted the next chapter on Vizzed~
On3On :
"This video contains content from EXIT TUNES Inc.. It is not available in your country."
Welp... I'll find another way to listen to my fave singer cover that song, but thx for the thoughtful gesture of linking that ;-; I also understand what you're saying. For me, drama is good and all, but it has to be interesting and done right. Not like, for example, writing about a character and then a bad thing happens to them completely out of nowhere and then said event has no impact on the story.
Also, I did this completely on a whim, and I ended up meeting positive responses on FF (I still need to post this on AO3). So I'm pretty glad people are interested in seeing how this is going, which of course made me plan out a plotline, to ensure everything flows smoothly.
