Hey guys! It's PokeGo+MarioFan here. I have a couple of things to say. First, I want to say that this is my second post of what you are about to read as when I tried to type all this on my phone, the spell check made all my words disappear! (My first post would have been worded better) Second, I wanted to say that I'm sorry from being inactive a lot and am now starting to be as active as I can since it's the summer and I have more free time. Third, I heard from Pacman+Mariofan that vizzed is dying. It sure sounds rough but now that I think about it, I wished I had posted way more then I should back when vizzed was a site that people/friends like Pacman+MarioFan come on every day to talk on threads and having fun. I wish and hope that something magically will happen so vizzed can be back the way it should be. I shall now check out the full potential of vizzed. P.S. see me around replying on threads!

First off, it's great to see you around. I remember you from a thread or post Pacman+Mariofan made, so you're familiar. I hope to see you around.

Word's going around that Vizzed is dying, but to be honest, it really isn't. I can see the site lasting for another year if David can continue to maintain it. However, activity has dropped a lot this past year. Seeing activity would be very nice. Have fun, though.

Yeah I really hope that David can make it thorough. So what happened that made the activity from other people drop so much? Was there a problem with the site(Vi zed) or did it just happen for no reason?

xxAriaxx : The sites traffic has dropped A TON and it's been happening for a number of years now. To the point where David is scrambling to make sure that he can keep it up and running, so it most certainly is an issue that hopefully is resolved. If traffic continues to be this low I don't see how he can continue to afford to keep it running as it currently is. I hope it gets resolved soon, It would sad to see Vizzed close.

That's all we can do at this current moment in time is to try and stay active on the boards and keep the place alive and bursting with energy... 

It is not going to be an easy thing to do and to be honest I think a lot of users understand the predicament the site is in right now... 

We don't really know how bad the situation is right now though... It could be fixed with downgrades to the site but that would pretty much stop the site from ever growing again, or by reducing the amount of servers needed by getting rid of dead weight on the site.... The problem is that any change made to Vizzed right now is a pretty big risk honestly.  The last thing Vizzed needs is to drive away even more users because it got rid of something or changed something significantly...

Regardless just enjoy the site as much as you can... Nothing lasts forever.. So we should just enjoy it to its fullest.

While I admittedly don't hang around Vizzed too much, I do get the feeling that it's probably not nearly as active as it used to be. In general, internet message boards are not as popular as they were a decade+ ago. Other message boards I occasionally visit/lurk seem to fall into a similar cycle: A lack of new users, lower site traffic, and the old regulars, the ones with thousands of forum posts lose interest in the site and slowly leave one by one. What usually happens after that is that the old site regulars will remain in touch with each other through social media, leaving the website they once visited almost completely barren.

Websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Tumblr, Discord, etc. are replacing the old internet message board style websites. I think message boards will always still be around, but in a reduced capacity. I'm not sure what Vizzed can do to compete with modern social media to be honest.

...Sorry, I had a point to make, but I kinda rambled a little bit. I hope you (the reader) know what I'm trying to get at.

Congo! : i agree with you, the social media are taking over the internet. Even vizzed members are more active on the discord instead of the site.if vizzed lose all these fine ladies and gentlemens that's carrying the website activity, they're doome

Vizzed obviously isn't as popular as it used to be. The most obvious problem with Vizzed activity probably started when Nintendo made David
remove a lot of their games. That's what brought a lot of people to the site because they could play popular Pokemon games for free without having to download them or set up emulators. My guess would be that that wouldn't bring in a lot of new users. In my opinion, there are still a lot of great games to play. Some of these games are Sonic, Adventure Island, Mega Man, etc. Many of these games I haven't gotten to play much (and some I've never played), and I definitely want to play/review them so hopefully I can bring attention to the games that still are available on the site and help drive people to visit Vizzed because I still think it is a great site.

I don't know where else you could go to play games like this for free that have this good of emulation. Pokemon, Mario, and Donkey Kong games might have been more popular, but where else can you go to play Sonic or Mega Man games for free? Another problem is that a lot of people get bored with the site and don't stick around. I don't get it! Maybe it's because they have other things going on, but for me this site means a lot. Sure, I can live without it, and even find other places to play retro games, but what about writing reviews, doing game discussions, or even being part of an online gaming community?

I know I am not an active member, but I am probably more active now than what I was 4 years ago when I visited the site just to play Mario games. I would hate to see it shut down because I feel like I'm just now starting to become halfway active. I want to write more reviews and maybe even post in other forums. However, I don't see a lot of posts that are interesting enough for me to reply to. Here lately it seems like most of them are just a bunch of drama instead of having anything to do with gaming. I plan on being more active on the site also, and hopefully bring attention to the good games that Vizzed still has to offer.

I didn't really say vizzed was dying, but it has been a problem that the activity is so low. My whole reason to compete so hard in this Tour de Vizzed was to help the site see that there is still hope. There are active members like me still out there and we just have to try staying active by posting regularly, regardless of what month it is

The most important thing is that if we avoid being negative and believe vizzed can improve activity, it can. I'm so happy I get to be a part of that.

Hey, PacMan+MarioFan! No worries there. Since we are friends in real life, we talk to each other and I know that you are a big support to Vizzed! Of course, there are many other really active people on Vizzed that are keeping Vizzed running with activity. Which I hope I can also do and help out.

Even if all seems lost in a bad situation, being negative is a bad route to go so as long as people stay positive and hope, there might be a way.

Maybe in a week, you will see me at like 100 post

I really feel the site is far from dying. When I'm on is normal shows a few people on, but I will say, I think people need to be more active in forms, and the Video Game Room. I think if we can get more active member, the forms would be loaded.

Vizzed dying is a big statement to make, especially with how many interpretations of dying you can have. Vizzed has taken a huge hit on traffic over the last few years, but there still is enough for it to be able to keep up enough traffic to be ok. 

The forums is an issue, as there aren't enough active posters to be posting as much as possible. Something I am trying to do has been getting myself more involved in the community (to moderate success) and to get more users involved that have been around the site before (to a little less success).  

The RGR has always been what draws people into the site, and without nintendo games, that for sure didn't help with an already decreasing number of visitors and registered users, already due to how outdated games have become less in society. 

I still enjoy the old Internet message boards that are out there, and while they are falling out of style, I think that many users who are here do prefer it more to others and thats why they're here. I know there are likely other people who like the old style but just haven't found a board that they really like, which is why we are actively trying to get the name of Vizzed out there to others. 

Having many active users is VERY important for the look of the site and to visitors that stop by to see what has been going on, so if you'd like to help, just stay active!
