Sorry for putting this here Leggy but I needed a place to say goodbye where it wouldn't get closed for being "against the rules".

However, I feel like it is time for me to leave. I've been at Vizzed for 12 years now and while Vizzed has long felt like a 2nd home to me it no longer does. This used to be a place to hang out and have fun but it no longer does. Now I feel out of place and unwanted.

So, Vizzed has an official discord server, and I realized that I could search my name on it. Foolishly thinking this was a good idea I found many times where my name was mentioned and I got to read people's honest opinions about it. After reading negative things from around a dozen people (many of whom I thought were on good terms with me) I decided that Vizzed was no longer a place I wanted to be and I think that is really sad. Ironically many of the things I was accused of doing (like pushing people away from the site) are now being done to me. In the end though I'm finding that I enjoy my time here less and less and this particular thing was just the icing on the cake. It was the final nail in the coffin that pushed me away.

There are a lot of other things that have happened recently that aren't worth rehashing here that have pushed me out the door. Unfortunate things honestly and petty but still they added to my desire to no longer come here regularly.
With all that being said will I be gone forever? I have no idea. However, Vizzed is no longer a place I feel drawn to so I don't know when I'll be back. I do hope that if I ever feel like coming back and seeing how the site is doing that it still exists in some form. It's been a part of my life for 12 years and that can't be undone.

Verkudara : the rules aren't the problem. This has been a long time coming. All the recent stuff was just the boot out the door I needed.

Man, I remember when I first started here back in 2010 and I'd see your username from time to time. I really hope you reconsider, but I understand if you want to go. I honestly believe that this place has become less interesting since I started, but seeing long-time veterans leave the forum is kinda depressing. If you don't come back, have a great life, and we'll miss you here.

I pray a global doesn't come in here and close this thread before I have the chance to respond (of course, I kind of hope the global+ just kind of leave this alone, because this is a thread that makes sense right now, a lot of his sentiments are not unique to just him in this instance, and I truly believe he speaks for a segment of the community here).

I will miss you, but I don't blame you for leaving. It's something that's been on my mind for the past few months, and like you, all it took was a quick search of my name in a few different servers to know how people felt about me. It's not fun, and not really what I signed up for.

I'm at a stage in my life, where I'm happy with what I'm doing professionally, and equally happy with my hobbies. Instead of posting on Vizzed, I'm out running, hanging out with friends in bars, or doing jiu-jitsu! I have a great life outside of Vizzed, and it's the type of life that's helped make my own decision on what to do going forward easier.

You leaving, has a domino effect. Whether that applies to me or not, we'll see, but it makes sense in your position.

I know exactly what stuff bugs you, because a lot of that stuff bugs me. Maybe we're not as "cool" as kids today want. Maybe we're at fault, and just unable to adapt to a place that is thematically new to all of us.

But one thing that resonates in my core here, is that it's your (or our) decision. No matter what is said, or done, they can't take this decision from you. If they ban you, then guess what, you weren't coming back anyway.

12 years of you being here. Almost 7 years for me. I can't pretend to know how Vizzed was like in the five years before I got here, but I can tell you that you personally, have had a huge impact on my own 7 years, and that I cannot imagine a Vizzed without you, nor can I imagine my last 7 years without you.

I've learned a lot about myself, my passions, my habits, my personality, my desires, everything, through being on this site, and from being around you, in particular. I have had multiple great friends, but they have come and gone. The one constant I always had, was that you would be right here with me, and we would find a way to enjoy a place that has become something neither of us can really appreciate as much as others would like us to.

Maybe in a way, I have made my decision. No matter what happens, it's been a hell of a ride.

I have to admit.. I can really understand this decision. This place has been a part of my life for a little over 7 years, and I've loved it, but things just aren't the same anymore. I have thought of leaving before, myself, honestly.

Like you and Leggy, I was in the "Official" Discord, and managed to fall into that same trap of looking for my name, and with one type of the letter D, I've found out what people have really thought of ME,so... I'm really not sure anymore when it comes to this place.

Seeing you, arguably one of the most well-known and prominent members of the site right next to David himself, feel like you have to leave, drives the point home that things just aren't the same anymore. But anyways... goodbye, Geeo. You'll be missed.

geeogree : Sorry to hear about this. I know we don't often talk as much as we used to but I still consider you as my figure father none than the less. I'm not on steam much so I won't be able to talk to you properly through. Discord is somewhere I wouldn't talk in, and that's mostly why I don't talk much there. I only talk if I need too. I hope you find in what you will be doing see you soon dear father....

There you go, the main reason to have a Discord server was just so they could talk behind the backs of those who weren't there at the moment. Yet they sold it as a way to make an active chatroom because Vizzed's was through a hard time.

I also learnt the hard way that people isn't exactly what they seem to be around here. I've lost faith in the community, which is constantly troubling me about leaving, but my case is different. Vizzed has changed me a lot, and I haven't been here for that long so to not feel drawn to this site anymore. I still want to do things for this site, not for any member in particular, but this site. I'm still returning a bit of what it has given me, and that reason alone fuels my work.

Anyway, we all have a time in which we need a serious break from something. You managed to stay around here for 12 years before needing it, which is impressive. Still, you must focus on your real life, and if you don't feel drawn to here anymore it's going to affect your real life as well if you force yourself to come here.

I'm not really sure if you're on good terms with me (I hope you are), but it's sad to see you go. Like any single individual out there, you had your ups and downs and you have your positives and negatives, and in my opinion the good things you've done for this site outweigh the bad things. You'll be greatly missed, man, I doubt any single (decent) staff member or ex-staff would say the opposite.

Sucks to see you go man. I think I've got a rough idea of where I stand with you but regardless of that I'll miss seeing you around. It was always fun for me to work with you as a mod and on the MC server.

I also don't think you get even half the appreciation you deserve for everything you've done for the site and the community over the years that I've been here, and I'm sure many yeas before that as well. So thank you geeo.

geeogree : I'm not surprised that you have made this decision. Between conversations we have had recently and the way this site is trending, I figured it was only a matter of time.

I also find myself in a similar position. Where the only reason I check in and occasionally post is because it's something that I've done for nearly 7 years. Out of habit I guess and in retrospect to the years when the site was still active and fun to be around.

I appreciate the years we spent basically running most of the site together. Despite all the drama over the years we have done good work together when the site was at it's best. No one can ever take that away from you.

I will make sure to add you on steam if I don't have you added already, and hope that we can stay in touch.

As is everyone else who has looked up to you, I'll miss seeing you here. I always thought you were a cool admin, not just because of the "ban hammer" nickname. It's really sad to see that the Discord servers are causing everyone's "friends" to talk about them behind their back. For all I know people could be talking about me behind my back like they did here once, but I don't want to see it and I won't let it define me.

legacyme3 : we've discussed this so much already. Not much else to say between what we've both said. Just sad that things are ending this way.

Khfan_D98 : they haven't been the same for a while. I simply stuck around a lot longer than I should have. Hanging on to something that simply didn't exist to me anymore.

Sonicmcmuffin : yeah. It's for the best I think. I remained too invested in this site even though I was getting as much back as I used to. At least I get to leave on my own terms.

Eniitan : yeah, there are lots of people I used to talk to all the time that I never talk to anymore. It's sad but part of how things go on the internet.

EX Palen : that felt sarcastic but I don't think it was. Either way, that's how the server was used in my case and it felt like a betrayal.

I appreciate that you think my good outweighed the bad. I put in a lot of time here and right now feel like a lot of it was wasted. However, I'm seeing that not everyone thought so.

Jordanv78 : "we have done good work together when the site was at it's best." Agreed. We had good times. Unfortunately I've had less and less time to dedicate here over the last few years. I don't claim that that is the reason Vizzed is failing. It's been declining slowly for years. I just wish I could have done more to stop it from happening.

Pacman+Mariofan : I appreciate that. It seems like a lot of drama has occurred because of the discord server outside of what happened with me. I've never liked chat rooms for this very reason. They cause more problems than they are worth. However, I was always overruled when it came to chat rooms.

And I plan to have more fun with my family. There is more than enough other stuff to do outside of Vizzed to fill my time up. I do honestly wish that things were different though.

Honestly with everything that's been going on (or lack of anything going on), I get it.

Things have just gotten so wild over the last few weeks, but what has happened has been understandable from different perspectives.

It's sad to see you go, even if we haven't really agreed on everything, you were nice to me and understanding when others weren't, and that's meant a lot to my development of a person.

Hopefully things here will get better and we can all have a good community here again.

Hopefully we can chat sometimes, I'll miss your presence.
