I actually played this forever and a few years ago! Tom and Jerry remains one of the best cartoons of all time. This is second only to Scooby Doo! This game isn't the best looking game of all time, but it was my childhood and that is all that matters. It could be a horrible game otherwise and if I played it to death, it's automatically the best game ever. That's how that works. I think?

I remember countless hours spent playing it and I am here to tell you why you should consider playing it even if it isn't all that thrilling.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Graphics: For a Gameboy Color game, the graphics are easily distinguishable. Gone is that feeling you get playing the system that I call "What is that?" syndrome! If I look at a random object on the floor in game, I can tell without a doubt what it is. So decent graphics overall! Which is great considering how old it is and how old I feel now all of a sudden!

Sound: The music isn't the greatest and is typical bloops and bleeps of the system. This game isn't the greatest, but it has the familiar tunes of the Gameboy Color and if you somehow like that, you will love this title.

Additiveness: This game has a habit of ensnaring you with "Just one more time" mentality. This can be both a good AND a bad thing as maybe you are trying to sleep and you just want one more stupid mouse over whoever is the opposite of your player avatar (boy, I really said that) If you play as Jerry, you want to save the mice, and if you play as Tom, you are trying to steal them, to I dunno, have a friend or something. Jerry was the worst friend imaginable so maybe Tom wants to kidnap a bunch of mice for friendship or something... but it's very addicting no matter who you play as and it falls under "Just one more time" or "Maybe I can do better/worse"

Story: Doesn't exist. There is no story. Like I said above the objective (story if you will... closest one there is really) Jerry's mice cousins or something are being kidnapped by a lonely, friendless Tom and he must save them, and Tom just wants some friends so he tries to steal them. In my experience, Jerry was the hardest (maybe I just really suck or something) so I always went with Tom. He seems to be chill. It has a distant Mario Party mini game feel to it.

Depth: It's the same mini game no matter who you play as. Not a lot of variety. You save or kidnap a bunch of mice. That's it!

Difficulty: The game for me was hard. I did notice Tom was slightly ever so much easier to play as so I always played as him. Playing as Jerry made Tom's AI smart or something and I always had trouble timing the mice throw into the hole as Jerry. I think my entire experience boiled down to Tom being easier to play as. But the game isn't kind to you no matter who you played as. It was either speedy or easy and the AI was bi polar or something. To save a mouse you just had to throw it into a hole... Jerry had it worse, Tom had it better. I can't explain the game as I haven't played it in seven years. I remember memories of playing it and I can picture it in my head cause I rock like that, but specifics and statistics elude me.

Closing Thoughts: This game is pure nostalgia based on a legendary cartoon. Childhood innocence as well as wonderful slapstick, this game isn't Game of the Year, but it did play a significant role in my life. For that, I have to rate it high. If you have standards, you won't find them on the GBC considering, but if you look for gameplay and how fun something is, the game is quite engaging, just slightly hard sometimes.

Games based on pop culture like this aren't known for being classics, but I played this one so much. Check it out if you want some mayhem for a few minutes and early Mario Party type mini games. Even though there are no mini games whatsoever.

Probably your best review yet. I loved how you managed to keep it entertaining and actually funny in several places, all while staying on point about the game. Very well written, detailed, and structured. Nice job here.

I've never played this one, but I have tried two other Tom & Jerry games, and this seems to fall into the same category based on what I read here: a decent game as a game, but a little more than that because it's Tom & Jerry. And any game that lets me play as Tom and bring the pain to Jerry (in any sense of the term) is a good game. :3 I hated that mouse.
