Anyone heard of an anime called Noir? (I think that is spelled right.) A friend has it and we are going to watch it sometime soon. It sounds interesting. I will let you guys know what I think after I see it.

I know all about Noir--it was the first anime I ever owned. I've gotta say, the action in it seemed a bit...well, soap-opera-ish. The action was a bit too widely spaced out, and at times the story almost seemed to get buried in unnecessary, repetitive flashbacks into Maryelle's past. I was okay watching it alone, but when I tried to watch it with some friends of mine, they quickly became bored by it. I stopped watching the series after Disc 2.

Oh, and Beddah? That opening music is cool-sounding at first, but if you try watching more than a couple episodes, you'll soon be driven to near-insanity by it. It seemed like Noir's entire soundtrack included only about 5 songs total, and that theme song gets played over and over and over and over again, until you want to shoot its composer in the head with hollow-point bullets.

But the story was interesting, and the locations in each episode were both exotic and intriguing. It seems that Noir's creators went out of their way to make sure that the entire series did not take place in Japan, but rather all over the world. I liked that.

I watched two episodes and it was ok, but then we watched some Yu Yu Hakusho. Yuske was fighting Senzi (however you spell his name) So I was easily more interested in that.

I would say Noir is generally underestimated, maybe the most are disappointed by the ending since the can't understand at all...
Personally I think the concept is very intresting in comparison with these common Anime you get to see everywhere.
In particular the Soundtrack is in my eyes an interesting piece of work since it combines different styles in an unusual way.

Anyway, this anime is something you can watch, but you'll need to think about it twoo or three times to like it.

If you are going to watch Noir I strongly recommend to watch it in japanese and with english Subtitle cause the english synchronization ist very bad in my opinion, it absolutely destroys the feeling.

If a thread is gonna be closed then it's a much better idea too call the staff than to post in it.
