The sense of smell is divine. It allows us to decipher whether something is good or bad for our systems, and allows us to sense things. I honestly love the smell of certain foods and all, but my favorite smell has to be one from perfumes or fragrances. It's heavenly! How about you guys? Feel free to discuss.

I have no idea what my favorite smell is/would be, but am I the only one that LIKES the smell of gasoline?

Lexatom : Dude I swear I was going to mention liking the smell of gasoline. I love the smell of it. Most people find it weird, but I have met a few that like it as well lmao. 

My favorite smell would probably be citrus. Orange if you want to get specific. Steak and french fries smell pretty good too . Oh, and don't forget that amazing smell you get when you walk into a pizza place. 

I will admit to enjoying the smell of gasoline. My mom used to scare me with stories of getting addicted to the smell when I was young, though, so I can't say I love it.

I adore the smell right after a good rain (specifically anywhere along the north-west coastline). Always makes me feel relaxed and happy.

I love the smell of pine. I could only have pine candles for the rest of my life, and I'd be totally happy. Although I can't get any to grow here, which deeply disappoints me.

My favorite smell would have to be the smell of hot lint as it's going through the dryer, and out of the heat exhaust. It smells so weird but yet so nice.

I think the absolute greatest smell in the world, unrivaled and second to none, would have to some good fried chicken. NOTHING is the same as the scent of hot oil, flour and spices, wafting through the house as you're waiting for supper in the evening. Incomparable.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.

I have a few I love the smell of. I love the smell of gasoline for some reason. I like the smell of dryer sheets. But my favorite is the smell of bacon!

I love the smell of coffee. Doesn't everyone, really? But I mean, I love it a lot.

Also the smell of eggs. Like, when you're making eggs to eat. Absolutely hate the taste, though. The smell is very nice

Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are probably my favorite smell. It just smells amazing when you either go to a store that has a bakery, or maybe to a relatives house and they are baking cookies. Another smell I like is the smell of BBQ. During the summer time, when I am outside doing yard work or whatever, and I smell someone cooking in the distance, it's like DAMN I want to fire up my own BBQ.

Probably freshly baked bread. I love going to a bakery because it smells like heaven lol.


It's weird because I don't like eating bread all that much. It's alright when it's really fresh though.

I love the smell of a freshly ejected shell from a gun. That is just awesome. I also like the smell of sawdust.

I like the smell of vanilla whether extract for cooking or air freshener. I like the smell of these perfumes, One Direction's Our Moment, Violet by Elizabeth Garden, Britney Spears' Curious & Fantasy, Live by JLo, and Old Spice Swagger & Lion. I loved how these smell!! I hate the smell of gasoline it makes me dizzy and nauseous ugh. Oh, of course, I love love the smell of rubbing alcohol almost addictive- I know it's odd but, I use to get a bad skin rash growing up so my mom would rub it all over me and I just loved the smell lol. And the smell of apple juice, the Mott's brand I am addicted to it.

Fresh cut grass, Campfire, and Gunpowder that was just discharged... Odd trio, but still awesome. 

Kind of like what that guy from Apocalypse Now, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning!"

Wow it's hard for me to even pick a favorite lol. Baked goods in general I guess but that's considered a favorite type of smell but ehh

I've got to admit that gasoline has a very unique smell that I enjoy inhaling whenever I get a chance.
(that came out wrong, but you guys understand what I mean).

Oldschool777 : I'm with you about the smell of cordite. I've spent enough time on ranges and in combat to know that smell and even though I don't associate it with the best of times, it still makes me nostalgic and I love the whiff of rifle and machine gun fire. It's special and not a ton of people are familiar with it.

My wife also likes the smell of gasoline. She doesn't mind if a little spills on her hands and she digs the aroma. I don't care for it but I don't judge or fault anyone else for their tastes and preferences.

My favorite, favorite smell is that of meat on a charcoal grill. Especially when I'm just out walking the neighborhood and I pick up the scent of charcoal and the smell of roasting meat right behind it. It is so atmospheric, it makes me think of when I used to live in Hawai'i and I would grill out every Friday. It makes me think of summer, of baseball, of all things where there is no responsibility, I have something cold to sip on, and I'm enjoying the social company of friends and/or family. Grilling makes me happy, food makes me happy, red meat makes me happy, and the fusion of fire, charcoal, and beef is the best smell in the world.

Not to mention,that is also the scent of practice and perfection. You send tons of lead downrange in practice,gradually becoming better until you can hit your target. A rifle may be designed to kill,but it only a weapon. The person holding the rifle decides whether to use it for good or evil.

I know,gasoline can be volatile,but it is a scent that anyone knows and it is a needed scent.

Grilling is awesome and it is something everyone can agree with. Even vegans. Grilling is not just about food,it is about enjoyment and the simple things.
