Welcome everyone to the PlayStation Netplay Tournament!

This is a double elimination tournament which means that if you lose 2 matchups, you're out. Everyone starts out in the "winners" bracket and if you lose, you go on to the "losers" bracket and if you lose in the losers bracket, you're out of the tournament. At the very end, the winner of the winners bracket and the winner of the losers bracket play each other but the winner of the losers bracket has to beat the winner of the winners bracket twice (this makes it fair to the user who went undefeated for going undefeated).

This tournament will go on for about 7 weeks but most of you wont make it that far; some users will only last 2 weeks.

A "week" in this tournament will start and end on Tuesday. Each week I'll make a thread which says who you'll be playing that week and it'll be you and your opponent's responsibility to PM each other to setup a time to play your matchup during that week. You can communicate with each other in the weekly threads but if your opponent doesn't respond to it, be sure to PM them.

When you PM your weekly opponent, be sure to let your opponent know what your availability is for the following 7 days so that you both know when you'll both be available to schedule your mathcup. Be sure to tell them what days your available and what time your available on each day. Also be sure to let them know what time zone your times are based on. If you and your opponent can figure out right away what times your both available on, than there should be less problems with scheduling a time to play.

If your opponent fails to communicate with you, be sure to report them to the weekly thread so that you get the automatic win! If both of you fail to play your game, the user with the higher seed number automatically get the win. In situations where a matchup didn't take place and both users did not communicate, both users will have their seed increased by 3.

You do not have to take screenshots of the results or record the games you play but it's definitely encouraged because not only does it offer proof but it makes it more fun for spectators of the competition that are following it. You're also encouraged to stream your matchups on Twitch or Hitbox.

Each week you'll play at least 2 games against your weekly opponent. If one of you wins both of those 2 games, that user will be the winner of the matchup. If you both win 1 game each, you play 2 more games and if someone wins both of those 2 games, that person advances on. As long as you both keep winning 1 game each, you keep playing 2 more games until someone has finally won both games.

You cannot pick the same game that you've already played in a single weekly matchup. If you end up playing 6 games in your weekly matchup, the matchup will end in a tie with the tie breaker going to whoever has the higher seed. The only matchup that can exceed 6 games is the semi-final and final matchup.

Here's how the seed number will work. The goal is to have the lowest seed number because this can determine who you play against. You want to defeat your weekly opponent in as few games as possible. If you beat your opponent by playing just 2 games, your seed number will not increase (and your opponent's seed will increase by 3). If you beat your opponent in 4 games, your seed number goes up by 1 (and your opponent's seed will increase by 2). If you beat your opponent in 6 or more games, your seed number goes up by 2 (and your opponent's seed will increase by 1). If one user gets the auto win for any reason (except in situations where neither communicated), their seed number will not increase but their opponent's seed will increase by 3. If some how you and your opponent get the same score (tie) in a game, then you'll have to play the same game again (your seed will not be affected by this).

The user with the better seed (lower number) in each matchup can decide whether they pick the first game or whether their opponent picks the first game. This can definitely be an advantage depending on who the opponent is.

It is recommended that you play on the Vizzed.co server since that's the best server. If you're interested in hosting your own server, you must be a Trusted member and you can find the details on how to do that here. The benefit of hosting your own netplay server is that netplay runs a lot faster when your in a session on a server that you're hosting.

From the main menu, choose 2 PLAYERS then SINGLE TRACK.

Choosing:
From the main menu, choose Multiplayer. Leave things default.
Winning:
First to 10 frags.


Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose VERSUS MODE.
Winning:
Win best out of 3.


Gran Turismo
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose ARCADE MODE then 2 PLAYER BATTLE.
Winning:
Win best out of 3.


X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose VERSUS MODE.
Winning:
Win best out of 3.


Micro Machines V3
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose MULTI PLAYER then choose 2 players and Tournament.
Winning:
Win the tournament.


Bomberman World
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose GAME MODE then choose BATTLE GAME, BATTLE ROYAL MODE and SINGLE MATCH. Make sure 1 PLAYER and 2 PLAYER are MAN and the rest are OFF. Leave all settings default.
Winning:
Win best out of 3 (with each match being 3 rounds).


Soul Blade
Choosing:
From the main menu, choose VS BATTLE MODE.
Winning:
Win best out of 3.


Any game that offers selectable levels, the user who chose the game gets to choose the levels played.

Dang, did anybody get a game in last week? A lot of defaults I'm seeing.

Cyro Xero : Only 1 matchup took place last week which was the one between Vanelan and I. This has been probably the worst tournament I've ever hosted as far as participation goes

Davideo7 : Dang, only one? I forgot about my matchup in week 1 until about 2 or 3 hours too late, but I made sure to attend my other matches (default wins lol)
