How many Vizzedians would be willing to blacklist this horrible airline for life?
An evil team[Rocket?] airline just kept a pair of ol' girls from rushing to their father before he passed. Can we personally punish Allegiant Air for callously hiring brutally nasty personnel?

Simple yes or no. Will you blacklist Allegiant Air for life or not? Pick one or the other or don't pick. Your choice.
Yes, count me in. All airlines need to know they can't do that to people. Let's send a clear message by widespread actions.

Nope. Women are stupid and I don't respect them.

I really don't understand the point of this being a poll, I mean regardless of the situation... The poll is worthless if  one of the two choices essentially implies you are sexist... Why make a poll if you've already judged those that don't agree with you.

The point being if this women was truly hysterical that she was basically hindering the flight and the security of the flight then they had to be removed... Stopping someone from being hysterical isn't literally as easy as going "Here have a meal" or "here have a pillow"... If anything you might be more likely to make the person worse as you kinda look like an ass for trying to give them stuff to shut up and ignoring their internal dilemma.

It just seems like a normal case of... for the many of for the few....

Also I just want to add something I really feel all the story isn't being told... No flight would literally turn around if all was said was.. "you need to get back to your seat", there was probably more words exchanged than that...  Simply put, if you were in a tin can thousands of feet in the air. Would you want someone panicking, shouting and screaming and refusing to follow instructions on it...

Some people may say it's morally wrong... but the implications would have been far worse if something actually happened that resulted in casualties had they not dealt with the problem immediately.

Why so serious? The negative option was a joke. I figured it is negative so let us at least make it funny. Just about every item I post has multiple elements of my wit in it. You do not know anything about me. It is therefore silly to vault to a conclusion of worthlessness or the issue being a black and white one.

Having said that, there are not just two ways this could have gone. In that spirit, both suggestions in your second paragraph were remarkably horrible. That's why I remarked.

What danger do passengers present in this situation? They were not hurting anyone, threatening anyone, trying to hijack the airplane or phoning in a bomb hoax.

I like this poll and attached thread more and more every time someone posts. We can share so many words together about how unimpressed we are. The poll is pretty well down the middle with a spectrum of vantage points on this personal tragedy weighing in with the post replies.

Hey, there was one more thing I was curious about fellow users. What has been your most significant personal tragedy to date? Something of a follow up. It might help make clearer why people have the perspective on Allegiant actions that they do.

JigSaw :

We don't actually know that the woman kicked off was normally hot-headed do we? Just as we don't know the flight attendant who attended to nothing was a belligerent passive aggressive provoking manipulator. It's just that nobody ever really has a problem with flight attendants who are not like that. Take into account the personal situation and the likely probability of the flight attendant's attitude. Are you sure we can posit that the airline is not at fault? This is just one of many isolated incidents. They could do one better than firing the shrew. They can own that they hired the person and take immediate steps to reform their informed hiring decisions. It did not have to be this way. So far though, no good news.

There's no argument to make against restraining someone who could disrupt the flight.
If you wanted to address inhumane and traumatizing policies, just take a look at how much airport security violate people's privacy.

Whether something is "horrible" is purely a person's perspective.

Also just to clarify..... There's nothing witty about calling people sexist... It's akin to those awful "It's just a prank, bro" youtubers.

Maybe the "victim" is absolutely telling the truth and they were treated awfully, However as a neutral onlooker it would be madness to simply believe that instantly. That's the point I was simply trying to make. Especially when suing is a very commonplace action against Corporations.

but I guess if you want a reason for my cold heartedness I can give you a few

1) I've worked with all sorts of legal issues such as Domestic Violence, Debt, Immigration and Welfare.... It's very rare to see anyone actively give a fair representation of what actually occurred. So I naturally take everything I read with a pinch of salt.
2) I was in training to be a police officer.. And well over here neutrality is pretty much rammed into your head.
3) I can't relate to these people because I'm emotionally incapable of processing death.... Which sounds weird.. But it's the best way I can describe it.

Also I'll assume that the sexist answer was in fact from JonLajoie's song...  but still man....  some people will literally read it and won't answer because it seems fruitless... that's all.

On3On :

Airport security is not the issue at hand. Those are employees hired to handle civilian safety by a federal agency. The searches they perform are on the basis of freedom of entry to the terminal. Don't want to scanned, turn back and go home at any time if you do not feel like submitting to scans or anything else.

So... preemptively prevent disruption? If a common flight attendant's intuition or mind reading capability functions on any level above indeterminate, airlines could just call singled out patrons at home to tell them their flight is cancelled. Make a list. Check it twice. Refuse service to whomever we don't like. New Allegiant logo idea: Santa hat. Everyone loves Santa. Those are better ideas than restraining someone to their seat with straps or zip ties, right? Yeah. No arguments here.

Sonicmcmuffin :

Oh yeah. Jon was totally an influence. He's funny. Blatant sarcasm works wonders.

 3) Oh yes. Loads of gourds are like that. Very common to have problems coping with losses. You would not be alone. Passengers one and two would have had no idea how they would react until it happened. I prefer to believe they handled themselves with all reasonable dignity the way most people would. To assume a person could not do so, takes for granted very unlikely things attached to a person's character.

As for people reading my poll, I cannot read their minds like you apparently can. I am thankful you are around with your dazzling torch of neutrality to keep us on the path.

Sarcasm doesn't add anything when members are more interested in the topic than mocking, and hard to tell if you read others posts properly.

You under emphasised how strict staff must be towards signs of trouble before the plane takes off.
No one would disagree if we knew for certain the sisters weren't freaking out everyone else.
Since we don't, members here focus on arguing in favor of securing the flight.

In regards to airport security, since you mentioned it, there is an issue of compromising peoples health in xray scans, or the molestation in body/cavity searches.
That is not an choice people should make for the sake of rampant fear-mongering and paranoia.

Granted, this is not the place to discuss it.

On3On :

Oops. You are so right. Flight staff need to get just slightly stricter. We need to wear shackles securing us to our seats so we don't attack anyone. To support the flagging North American economy, they can hire flight[medical] attendants to insert uretic catheters for us so we don't have to get unlocked to get up and use the bathroom. Anyone could disrupt a flight so it's time to get preemptive and not give anyone a chance at it. They can restrain us all at once
and we'd acccept it if it was made the only way to experience the privilege of riding an aircraft. Whirly-bird passengers get strapped in; why not plane passengers all the time?

How is that for arguing in favor of securing the flight? Am I going far enough? There is clearly no such thing in your awareness as over-emphasis or blowing things out of proportion so I am right on track. There are new jobs opening at Allegiant. Your perspective might help you fit in with them. You could be saying, "Sorry ma'am, we'll pack away the stroller in just a moment for you; right after we do a last minute check on the rattles and teething rings for IEDs." Employee of the year... until some attendant steals your thunder by barring a person from using the onboard restrooms for suspiciously frequent visits[he has incontinence]. "A terrorist with no continent? I have an announcement everyone! This flight is cancelled."

A pinch of irony never hurt any emotionally stable person. King Jon is some kind of genius.

If they are the cheapest for whatever I'm looking for, then I'll use them.
I'm pretty sure that this is just an isolated incident, because I haven't heard anything about them before.
