Many games hide these little gems in their dialogue. Whether they are classic or new, kid-friendly or mature, games can be pretty inspiring. Some of them even offer advice that can help you in your own life. What are your favourite inspirational and/or motivational quotes in video games? What effect, if any, have they had on you? I know I exclude a lot by only allowing inspirational quotes from video games, but I feel like there are enough to keep a good thread going.

I'll start with two:

What can change the nature of a man?
-Planescape: Torment (several characters)

This question is the crux of the entire game. But it also happens in our lives. How many repeated mistakes and promises to change can someone make until you stop trusting them? How is it that some people can throw their lives around in an instant while others try to do so for years and years but always fail? The game's protagonist gives one answer (spoilers):
Spoiler:
If there is anything I have learned in my travels across the Planes, it is that many things may change the nature of a man. Whether regret, or love, or revenge or fear - whatever you believe can change the nature of a man, can. I’ve seen belief move cities, make men stave off death, and turn an evil hag's heart half-circle. This entire Fortress has been constructed from belief. Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not. Once, it made a man seek immortality and achieve it. And it has made a posturing spirit think it is something more than a part of me.

No one is simply born 'strong'. People only grow stronger little by little, by encountering difficult situations and learning not to run from them, no matter how frightening or daunting they may be.
-Mother 3

A more practical quote that can be applied in many situations, and oh so important. Especially "learning not to run" from difficult or frightening situations which is a bad habit most people share.

These are from the game Destiny:

"The courage to walk into the Darkness, but strength to return to the Light."
"If there is beauty in destruction, why not also in its delivery?"
"Whats the largest, fastest, most solid thing you've ever stopped with your head?" (helmet)

These are from the game Borderlands 2:

"Hey, Scooter says don't walk, drive! My daddy always said wheels were better than heels. Uh, he was paralyzed, though. Anyway, don't walk, drive!"
"Com'n out the dust nasty out th're ai'nit?"

I don't know what that last one means lol can someone translate?
Destiny has tons of funny and clever quotes.

From Castlevania-Sympathy Of The Night.

What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk...Have at you!

I just remembered two more:

"Don't you dare go hollow." (especially with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y41l4FGHPg)
- Laurentius, Dark Souls

"The universe is a dark place. I'm trying to make it brighter before I die."
-Thane, Mass Effect 3

One in particular always comes to mind, and it's one that I've lived my life by:

"If I could do something really important, that would definitely carry on into the future. And so, if I were to disappear, I think that all I have accomplished will go on." -grovyle from pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of time/darkness/sky

not really the wording i'm in love with, but more like the message. i think the mark you leave in the world is important, and there are a lot of things i want to change about it. so many things that i know i won't live long enough to make them all happen, but i want to carefully choose what it is i do in a way that would inspire future generations to like "continue" what i started or smth

Lysandre is probably one of my favorite characters in gaming. Mostly because of his views on things and his quotes. No, I don't agree with the fact that he needs to kill everything by the way. One of my favorite quotes from him is, "My desire...it is for a more beautiful world!"

Virtue: "You don't need a reason to help." FFIX

I have always liked this one and find it more so adopted as a part of my life. Helping without a reason because you believe in helping. Having something or someone to believe in is pretty core to any Final Fantasy game which gives it meaning. We get this in real life as well and it can be a crucial part of one's own advancement throughout the journey we take as we live every day. Even believing in oneself is a start and at least getting a start helps one find direction. No, I don't need a reason to help. I believe and I care.

From Xenoblade Chronicles:

"What's important isn't whether you can see the future or not. It's the will to make a choice, and the strength to seize your destiny!" -Shulk

That game was chock-full of a lot of inspirational quotes thanks to the nature of the game, but this one really stuck. It's a great message, basically telling you to make choices you know that are right, and to have the strength-- the willpower, really-- to seize your destiny, since your destiny may be something you really don't want for yourself. It's something to live by, considering human nature is to go by what everyone else thinks.
