I personally own this game and I love it, knowing that this could have been an inspiration the Grand Theft Auto series. It is an open world game that stars Tanner, the "driver" of the people that you work for, outrunning cops and doing other acts that raises you "felony" meter if you get caught. This is the first game in the series that you can get out of your car and run away if the cops are after you, not like in the previous game where you are stuck in your car and have to manually drive away. The graphics in this game are pretty good for the time, as there are 4 big cities to play in the game. The sound in the game is nice, crisp, Late PlayStation 1 era, meaning that most games at this time had higher quality, as more people knew how to develop them. The game is pretty fun to play and sometimes I boot up my PlayStation 2 to play it. The story is simple however, as you are the "wheel man" doing more tasks for gangs and deliveries. The game has a lot of things to do in it, whether it is playing mini games, or just running around in the open world. The game is difficult however, as some missions took longer for me to do. Let me talk more about some problems to the game.
A problem with the game is that it IS difficult, such as one stage involving you chasing an intruder, and you either run out of time, or he escapes you, failing the mission. That mission took me a long time to do. A glitch I found in the game too is that when you get out of your car, you can walk to some people in the street, the problem is that the people think that you still are a car and run away from you, still thinking that YOU ARE A CAR. I don't know why that happens, but it is pretty funny.
So to sum up, this game is a good game and if you find it in the store, it comes on two discs, so it won't be more than around $5-10. So pick it up if you have thee money, but if you want a game that has shooting and lots of action and better graphics,
Just get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
