Well folks it appears that the release date of the first Crash Bandicoot remaster may have been leaked.

Finnish online game retail site VPD.fi and Brazillian retailer Zilliongames have listed Crash Bandicoot remastered as available for preorder and said it would release on -- ready for this? -- February 28th 2017. Yes, that soon. Now bear in mind this may not be official, but it's definitely there. Go ahead and check it out: bonus points if you understand a word of it

Furthermore, for those of you who didn't click the link to a website full of text you wouldn't understand (probably), box art has also been revealed along with two screenshots of it.

So there you have it: all we know about Crash Bandicoot's return date, and that's if these two retailers are right as PlayStation and Activision have yet to say anything about it one way or the other. It seems a bit early but I sure hope this date is correct. As a gamer who missed Crash during his day for whatever reason, I've always regretted not getting to play a true Crash game so I'm really looking forward to this one. How about you?

I um......uh....I'm silenced with the graphics. If I am going to be very very honest I hate how the way it looks like really. I was expecting the graphics to be good, but for me they just made crash look...less cool and he looks more...stupid. Crash isn't stupid. I was hoping the graphics for like when they made Cortex Strikes Back would come to play, since that was their best made of crash also for CTR as well.  Sorry to say its most likely I won't get the game now. I was waiting on the game for a long time to see what it may look like, and now that you have managed to find out. Its....a huge disappointment.

You know, I have to agree with you. I like things that lean more towards the theme of cool than stupid. It seems common in remakes to. . . express certain qualities in the reimagining of art and. . . it can get annoying.

I can see why people would be somewhat disappointed. It is pretty cool to hear that this game is getting a remake though. This was. . . not really that expected. XD

I think it's nice to see Crash looking so goofy in that new game like he did in the old ones.. 

Unfortunately, I too am disappointed

Although, I've been disappointed with this outstanding series for quite some time now, ever since Naughty Dog dropped the game after making their schedule 3 titles, plus CTR, for the PS1 ( and this was back in '98 or '99?? ). I suppose that the first game that released on the PS2 ( Wrath of Cortex ) wasn't all that bad but it just lacked a certain "uncharted" quality. However, the next 8 or 9 games that followed were complete disasters and they didn't seem to appealing for me. The story kind of branched out in all directions until there was no story to follow anymore and that made me sad

I have to say that I had my hopes up when I saw the title of this thread but looking at the cover art and screenshots just makes my heart sink. Crash just isn't the same anymore without Naughty Dog. But I suppose that has happened to many of the classic PS games...

HUGE EDIT!: Wait a second! These screenshots are from that Skylanders Imaginators game! Crash doesn't have a new game coming out he's just DLC for a game that was released earlier this year. Curse you, Eirinn, for tormenting my inner child's hopes and dreams!

Since I missed everything except CTR, Nitro Kart, and Crash Bash I have no experience to rely on here, but I can understand the disappointment. I wasn't thrilled with the graphics but just because I expected something more from a classic remaster. As for looking stupid...according to the theme song and opening scene for the never-released show he was stupid, but had a good heart.


Cactuar : Good to see someone whose heart I didn't break! Lol I actually thought this would make people happy to see, but I'm no Crash expert as I said so I guess I missed some things here. I'm still excited for it though.


Kruzer : Well I hope the screenshots are from Imaginators, but he actually does have a game releasing soon, in fact he has three coming up. The first three Crash games I believe are what they announced at E3 this year, but the next two I think are supposed to be bundled together. The only thing is that Sony and Activision have yet to announce the release date to my knowledge so it's all a matter of deciding whether we believe these retailers or not.

Just in case you guys didn't hear about it yet, click this totally awesome link. Seems that what Eirinn has said in the past is actually true. Finally! A true remake of the original three Crash games from back in day. I love everything about this video from the enhanced graphics and classic music, to the familiar enemies and bosses. Though it says in the PS Store that the release date is 12/31/17, I'm pretty sure that it will be released sooner than that since an official date has yet to be announced.

But make no mistake, the remastered trilogy is real and shall grace us with it's Epic Beauty very soon

They actually officially announced it at E3 last year, so my only question was the screenshots and box art. This video is news to me, and it looks good thankfully. As for release date, I think originally it was said February, but that could easily change, as we know all too well. -__-

Eniitan : It's funny to me because the guy sounds like he has never really played the game enough in the past to know how the levels work or what to do.

Based on all the videos I've seen so far, this remastered trilogy is 99.9% similar to the PS1 classics. This is shocking to me because when the original classics were made it was developed by Naughty Dog but later on in the future Activision ends up the copyrights. So, to see Activision create this remake with such accuracy is amazing. Everything is the same! The cinematic intro, the levels, the menus, Crash's awesome dance moves, they kept the game true and I definitely give them some MAJOR respect for that. Truly Unbelievable

It is really amazing on how everything was gotten right with what I saw....like I am really surprised, and I like Activision. They made my favourite game called Destiny. XD

Rest assured I will be ALL OVER this whenever it may come out. I think its great they're coming out with this remastered version of the first three games! Enii I clicked on your link and watched some of the gameplay...its looks awesome imo

MattyIce : I'm actually hoping...steam allows the game to their store it would be an amazing thing. I don't have the new consoles so it would be better for me to buy them on steam really, and easier too. Yeah I already feel a great aura from the game its like as if I played it years ago but in a much better style of remaster.

Eniitan : From everything I can find, it appears to be PlayStation exclusive. I know it's a bummer for anyone without a PS4, but it would have been a slap in the face to many fans and PlayStation themselves to put it on, say, Xbox, since rash was synonymous with PlayStation back in the day. Kind of like the betrayal of Tomb Raider not only going to Xbox but also going as a timed exclusive.


MattyIce : Same here, man. I missed Crash back in the day, but I always wanted it so bad when I saw the commercials. By the time I could afford a PlayStation he wasn't as huge of an icon, or at least he didn't dominate the commercial spots. That and my local rental store didn't carry any of his games expect CTR and Crash Bash (loved both though).

Now if only Activision remasters Spyro as well...
