I know the title sounds a bit un-clear, so I'll explain:

I know some arcade games that have a USB port somewhere on them. The USB port's most common feature is to save top scores, but there are also other uses for them. In some DDR Games, it's possible to edit your own steps for songs and set those custom steps on a USB. Then, once the USB is inserted into the DDR cabinet's USB port, your custom steps can be played.

I also know a series of games that can save data onto the USB for profile purposes: Pump it Up, which I can't find in the Retro Game Room yet.
Pump It Up cabinets can recognize each inserted USB Stick as a storage for a Profile of sorts. Using this, it's possible to not only save scores, but to unlock more content, including stages!

Has something like this been implemented into MAME or another emulator yet? I'd like to see Arcade Emulators being able to create a file of sorts to trick the game into thinking an USB is inserted.
