We all have hobbies, and things we like to do on our spare time. Sometimes though, we take pleasure from things we'd rather keep to ourselves. Some things are just too valuble to be thrown away, so they are kept. At times, we might cling on to objects we don't really need, but hang on to anyway. For example, for quite some time, I've always held on to my old high school assignment sheets and the like simply because I like them inexplicably and I can't see myself getting rid of them.

Do you have pack rat tendencies? Do you hold on to things which are a bit unnecessary? Thanks for your patronage, people.

I like holding on to any pieces of art or drawing I've made.

There's just something about looking back at how far you've come to this point. And if it's really old I can ask my younger self what the heck I was thinking when I was drawing that :p.

I also have a weird tendency to hold on to stuffed animals I own. I never really play with them anymore, but they're just so sentimental to me that I wanna keep them with me.

I didn't understand well of the topic of the thread. I sort of got what you meant but....zerotails clearly made it more easier for me to see what I can post. For me would be my medals. I've never ever mentioned this to anyone I have a lot of football medals, also from cricket and other school things I did in the past. It helps me to remember what I did back in that time of my childhood really. I don't plain on throwing them away when I do get married one day I want to at least have a story to tell my children, with proof such as that to show them.

I tend to want to keep a lot of things from my childhood, and many "valuable" things. I have whole bookshelf that barely has any books lol. It has all of my trophies and medals from school and sports. There's easily 100+ in there, but I've never taken the time to count exactly how many I have (cocky much? ). I tend to want to keep books and toys from when I was younger as it's pretty nostalgic lol. The biggest example would have to be my stuffed animal that I got in 1st grade from one of my friends. I still have him (yes "him", not "it", deal with it ) in my room, even though one of his eyes are jacked up. He's the cutest thing, and I don't think I can ever throw him away.

...My house is a wreck.

I keep so much stuff around for no reason, but it doesn't really bother me. I actually have lots of boxes. No, not boxes of stuff, just.. just boxes. I like to keep boxes. It's not weird, don't judge :V

Anyways half of the time I like to take things in but don't care if I lose them. Maybe I'm just too apathetic about it but it keeps me from getting sad for losing something.

I wouldn't so much say I'm a pack rat, but I do let things get cluttered.

I don't really care about holding on to most material possessions, excluding things like video games / technology or special things that hold sentimental value. That said, I have some thing of a Great Depression era person's mentality, where I'll hold on to a bunch of useless stuff with the idea of "well, this might be useful at some point in my life." XD

It's some thing I need to work on, but it's not really things that take up a ton of space. It's mostly just things like my dresser or end table that end up cluttered with a bunch of the useless junk I was talking about lol.

I do not consider myself a pack rat, maybe lazy about getting rid of things. You know that the second you discard something, you will need it.
