I am the FaithFighter.

I look around, I see buildings built by someone;

I see video games programmed and designed by someone.

I see inventions, invented by someone.

I see the world...Just appeared? Chance? Grew on it's own?

NO! Created by GOD.

In the beginning HE Made the heavens and the earth, the entire universe, the entire animal and plant kingdoms.
Then he made us. First Adam, then Eve from his side. (Take note...not another adam!)
He put us in a perfect world, and we screwed it up
Even then, HE still loved us. HE sent HIS SON, HIS one and only,
To die, to take our place in punishment.
So here I stand...I...The FaithFighter.
I will love the family that GOD has given me.
I will strive to honor my KING and SAVIOUR in my work,
And in my games.
I will stumble and fall--But I trust in my SAVIOR to pick me up and give me the strength to fight on for another day.

18mlivingston : He's level 53. Faith Fighter used to post regularly and he has some good perspectives.

Welcome back.

Cap'n : He means no homosexuals. God created homosexuals because God created everything but then the gays are bad. Which is interesting because I always thought Jesus walked around asked everyone to love one another, regardless.

And then God went and drowned every living thing because he wasn't pleased with the wickedness of his own creations. And then what follows in the Bible is nothing but war, slaughter, slavery, incest, etc, etc.

But you have to have beliefs. That's fine and I encourage it. I like to hear the other side of the page.

Cap'n : Check out the Bible some time. It's way worse than Game of Thrones. Those folks know nothing (See what I did there?) compared to what God did or had done in His name.

Google "Bible Atrocities" and read the carnage. It's really offensive. It makes a person feel that God doesn't really love us. He gets upset a lot and He is vengeful. He killed his own son, or at least let him die. That's rough stuff. And the rest of it? Do some reading. The Bible is really advanced with the murdering of the peoples.

Ghostbear1111 : Is it different for all the different versions of the bible? I hear a lot of people talk about these things in the bible but there's a lot of different ones I'm not sure how they're all different.

I'm sure Faith Fighter understands it better than I do but as far as I know there are a few different types of Bibles.

1. Word for Word: These are literal translations and match the original Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, and Aramaic writings. The one I know is the King James version, which is as close as possible and is recognized as the most literal translation into English. English has changed and evolved over the past hundreds of years so the Bible has changed as new words entire our vocabulary and old words cease to be used in everyday language. The Bibles are updated but are still as close as possible to the original vocabularies and word selections.

2. Meaning for Meaing: These are Bibles that are more free with their translations because they are trying to get the message across at the cost of using accurate language. Instead of being a literal translation, they tell the story in more easy to understand language. This gets away from the accuracy of the texts but it makes it simple for people to understand. They use up to date English words, phrases, idioms, and are meant to be less of a literal translation and more of an interpretation that evolved with our culture.

3. Paraphrased Bibles: These ones are exactly that, paraphrased. The writers and authors make considerable use of poetic license and better grasp the stories and lore of the Bible without the massive about of doctrine. They are inaccurate from a timing standpoint and from a true history standpoint but their objective is to teach stories from which the readers can extrapolate their own thoughts.

One good strategy, if you're pursuing Bible study, is to have two (or more) Bibles side by side. Read the one you find easiest to comprehend. Archaic language, especially in the King James version, can be tough to follow and there's no flow. But have one available to clear up and be more precise if you have questions or thoughts.

I'm sure that barely covered the conversation.

FaithFighter : I'm confident you can do a much more eloquent job explaining the differences. But have I least come close?

Ghostbear1111 :

First, I must disagree with you. GOD did not create homosexuals, HE created the people who choose to be that way. It drives me crazy that people act like you are born that way or not. That is not the case. It is a choice that people make, just like faith in GOD, you can be born into a Christian family, but you can't be born a Christian. It is not the same thing as being born a boy or girl. (Not that even that's engraved in stone anymore, with all these people having surgery to anatomically be the other gender.) Also, it is expressly stated in both the old and new testaments that GOD despises homosexuality, and is a very perverse sin. So no, not the case. (Sorry if I seemed to ragy, this is a very sore subject for me, and one that I am adamant about.

Cap'n :
First off, gotta respect the name, short and to the point. Secondly...Ghostbear is right about what I meant. GOD created our world to be a certain way. Everything that did not exsist in the Garden of eden, and is terrible. That's all us. We all screw up, and no one can give GOD the perfection that HE demands. HE created us with free will so that we could choose to follow HIM, and not have to. (This is also the reason GOD created lucifer/satan.  Have to give us another option in order for it to be a choice, right?)

Ghostbear and Cap'n : Well, when sin entered the world, and the first people chose not to listen to GOD. GOD's perfect system was broken, and death became a thing. Though at first, people still lived for a really long time (nearly 1000 years). So when people would decide to forget GOD and just follow their own selfish and sinful desires, they had a lot more time to descend into darkeness of their own hearts. So, it actually got to the point where people were bragging about killing a child merely because he spoke to them the wrong way (well, at least a couple guys did) Right about then, is when GOD said "enough is enough" and reset our world with the flood. And of course, he took care to save the one man and his family who still listened to HIM at that point. (in case that wasn't clear enough Noah and his family were the only people left on earth that actually believed in GOD, and still tried to live a "good" life. So yeah, GOD waited for some pretty extremes stuff before just wiping the earth. After the flood, lifespans began to shorten to about the normal lifespan we have now.

As far as all the garbage in the old testament...Yeah, I know it's horrible, it's offensive even to me. All the murder and bloody gore really made my goal of reading all the way through the BIBLE quite difficult I have more to say, but I'll post it later, because right now, it is 3 Am. I've worked 10 hours today and i really need some sleep.
