Hyper Bounce Blast is a very fun shooter that has a mixture of bullet hell and classic shoot em up style games. The game was developed by Flump Studios and published by Kiss Ltd. It was released on Steam in 2016. Flump Studio is very similar to a game done in the past known as Horizon Shift, but with a few new changes, and gameplay style. There are a nice variety of game modes. Arcade Classic, Arcade Arrange, Free Mode and Boss. These modes are a blast to play, and yes there are bosses in this game, which is cool.
Not only is Hyper Bounce Blast a shoot em up, but it has some platforming aspects to it, that allow you to attack enemies and even avoid being shot at. You can even use a wall jump as well. There are a nice variety of enemies and bosses and they are very well designed. There is a bonus mode that reminds me a lot of Centipede and I love that mode, if you are good enough, you can get a ton of points which is nice.
The graphics for Hyper Bounce Blast are very well done, nice and bright and colors, almost similar to the Geometry Wars series with florescent colors. The music is good, and fits the game, but it's just not the music I would listen to. I can't say it's awful though, as for the sound effects, very well done. The controls are nice and easy to understand, sometimes they might be a little slow at responding every once in awhile, but it's not a huge flaw. The difficulty is nice as well, and like any game, the farther you go, the more this game will get very tough. I love how the game has a high score leaderboard as well, which is always nice to have in a game like this. I did quite well for a little while, but some people are just badass.
Hyper Bounce Blast is fun as hell, the game is something I myself can put a lot of time into, either playing through the game, or going for high score. I do wish there was more to the game, more levels and so on, maybe more bonus levels, but for what the game is, I can't complain too much about it. The graphics are nice, the gameplay is fun, the music fits the game, the sound effects are nice, the difficulty is perfect, and the controls are good, very few flaws as far as I am concerned. If you want to pick up the game for yourself, it can be picked up on Steam for $4.99. Definitely worth the price.
