I have always had a dream of wanting to stream and do Youtube videos for a living. I love interacting with people and entertaining people and I think I'm fairly good at it. Its always something I wanted to do but never had the money too. Now that I have money I can invest into this dream. But I want advice. Do you think its a achievable dream and what can I do to best achieve that dream.

Beastmode64 : I think it is. I mean there have been people who have done that, but the sad thing with this is that you need to plan this well. Like what types of games you plan on streaming for your viewers. Since viewers can be picky, and with twitch it can take a number of years before you can get a lot of viewers being loyal to your stream. But, as long as you are doing it for your personal fun, and enjoyment that is all that matters really. So if you really want to do this. Make the best plan to come up by if you want a lot of viewers attention.

Well yes of course is it achievable.  In fact it is debatably the one of the best ways to achieve success currently.  While Enii does have some good points about preparation I have something to add.  Some of the best youtube channels are ones that started with very low production quality.  In fact part of the charm of these channels is watching them progress as they get more famous.  In short I think it is a good idea for almost anybody to at least throw their hat in the ring, so to speak, and just see what happens.  Obviously not everyone is going to get famous but it has got to be worth a shot right?  You have very little to lose and a lot to gain just by trying.

I know the feeling and dream but the number one thing I learn is to just not expect greatness. Learn from me, I had everything on youtube and twitch for those times, the best free software with the best editing in mind. So what happen? None of the videos were original or target audience. You can see videos of my past in my profile, the best I could ever get would be 20 views which are the exact the same as my subscribers. Sure you can blame me for never using twitter (never gonna use it), however getting 20 subscribers and 20 views is a big thing with starter YouTubers. It's just that the videos were never original, that is why I have given up trying to get all the cool new games because someone else would be original. So as over the years, I just upload fun games and to my surprise, those videos get more views.

So what I'm saying is be original, don't fake it, you won't get rich in 3 years (not even with a video that has over 1 million views), and stay up to date with new recording software because you could be spending hundreds on making a bad video.

p.s: Just to help you out, use Afterburner for action games, you will not find any better recording for those games: https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner

and use BB Flashback express to record fewer action games: http://www.flashbackrecorder.com/express

Note that these two software cover each other weakness, use them well and read up on what they can't do.

It's achievable, highly unlikely to make a living off of it and be well known but achievable. Just gotta make content or have a persona that stands out and make interesting content

I know this might sound harsh, but sometimes I gotta be harsh. If you are getting into making video content, or streaming just for the $$$$ and internet fame, quit now. If you are doing it for gaming, you gotta remember, for every Pewdiepie, Markiplier, etc, there are another ten thousand channels that are there. Gaming channels are created every single day. The whole thing is over saturated. I been doing this for almost 10 years, I been on this current channel since 2012 if I remember right. I have almost 3000 subscribers. My old channel had 4500+ I am a nobody on here, and I don't mind that. I am very happy, and grateful for what I get views/subs wise. Just go have fun, and not worry about the other BS. That's my advice.

Beastmode64 : Well, it has to be. Otherwise, we wouldn't have popular YouTubers like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, would we? XD Don't think about whether something's achievable or not. If it's what you want, go for it. If you work hard enough and believe in yourself, you'll do great. If you believe in yourself, chances are you can do it, but if you tell yourself you can't, you probably won't. Just stay optimistic, but don't go in without a backup plan. YouTube is difficult to maintain.

As they say, "Life's about the journey, not the destination."

What I mean is, regardless of how successful your endeavors may turn out to be, wouldn't it be better to chase the dream over giving up on it before you even try? No matter how unlikely it may be, as long as you're not decreasing your quality of life in the pursuit of it, there's no reason whatsoever to not go after it. Even if you only make a small ripple in the grand scheme of things, your influence could have a positive impact on a good deal of people, as well as your self, and that's what matters more than anything.

I mean look at David for example. He started out a 16 year old kid with a dream, and look how far Vizzed has come. There's actually web sites ( or pages at least ) that explain the best way to go about obtaining followers for streaming, so if you make the most of the information given, and put your own unique spin on it, there's no reason you can't be at least semi-successful doing it. Even if it's not enough to actually live off of, it could still end up being a great side hustle that you love doing in your spare time.

It might be achievable, but not easy or practical. Unless you have some freaky way to draw in millions of subscribers, you are not going to be rolling in money. I would suggest learning to code games instead. Not to mention,You Tube is restricting content be demonetizing them,or making it so you cannot make money of it,if it is deemed unacceptable.

It definitely is, but it will take a really long time. Not to mention you always have to be nearly perfectly consistent. It will probably take a year or two before you can even build a decent sized fan base, which will still be small, but as long as you put out good stuff and promote it a lot, it will happen eventually. Just need to know that it would take ages unless you find a way to do a video with someone big, or have a hit video.

Beastmode64 : It is an achievable dream. I know you can do it and make a living from these social medias. You need to listen to your fans and make entertaining videos, and you can achieve your dream. I want a job doing YouTube, too, but I have other dreams. And remember, if you need help, we'll be here.
