So as of late, we have all been seriously thinking about the mario series. What different things imply, if Mario is a crazy person that is cruel to animals, and a genocidal murderer. But instead of going that route, perhaps we should think of things in a slightly different route. What does one normally see in a Mario game. One could easily say that the only thing that ever happens is that Bowser kidnaps the princess over and over again. And while on the surface, this may appear to be true...it's not. Every time Bowser kidnaps the princess, it's an invasion, an invasion on an entire kingdom. And I don't see a toad army rolling out any time soon, so guess who gets the call...Mario, Jumpman Mario! If we think about it, Mario has one of the most impossible jobs ever. He has consistently waged a one-man war against the koopa tribe since the 1980's. When you think about it in this perspective, every goomba that you crush is a traitor, and every koopa troopa that you send careening over the cliff is a mortal enemy, no matter how cute and happy they may seem. Remember, this is war. You are one man, fighting for the well-being of not just the princess, but the entire kingdom. That is a lot to be fighting for, and he's been fighting a long time. Sometimes with his brother luigi, or even other help, but more times than not--alone. This guy is like the president's man (hope you saw that chuck norris movie!) for the mushroom kingdom.

And yet, for all his heroics, we give the guy flak for killing every goomba in sight or punching Yoshi in the head (which i still feel is an animation glitch, and was removed from later titles. If I was Mario, I would be pretty hurt, "I've fought so long and hard, yet no one cares. They think I'm only trying to get the girl, that I'm a murderer, and that I'm basically mental...If only they knew my true struggles..."

Since nintendo doesn't tell us much, the interpretation is up to us. I challenge you to seriously think about this. Are we really just going to up and say that the hero of the mushroom kindgom is just a murderer in hero's clothes, and that he's a complete psycho. Or will we look at this story through his eyes, and see the real war that is constantly waging. Think on it, and let me know

xD W have been going way to deep in to the Mario series.

Hm...I do have to admit, that sounds like a very difficult job. I mean, you are right, he has to kill off an entire army of opposing koopas, goombas, various creatures with spikes, Bowser himself, et cetera, and he has been performing his job ever since, well, ever since most of us have had the brain capacity to remember him waging his wars. The koopas and goombas, I suppose, are, in fact, traitors to their home land, the Mushroom Kingdom, and I suppose that in that sense they deserve to be killed off.

Plus, at this point, Mario is probably just thinking something along the lines of this day in and day out every time that Princess Peach gets captured: "Ugh, I'm going to try and pull this one off as quick as I can, I'm freaking tired," or "Hm, let's see if I can speed run this one."

So I guess I should cut him some slack from my theories about him being a dark overlord who wants to force Princess Peach into wedlock to rightfully take control of the mushroom kingdom. He is a pretty cool guy, after all.
