That 0.1 rating really reflects the rest of the scores you gave the game pretty well.

Lexatom : Haha, but seriously, if the game wasn't so broken server-wise, it would be a more enjoyable game (if I had a better phone). Wasn't sure how to figure in server issues into the score except for the main score.

Even so, in my opinion, not counting the server issues, it's still far from a 10 out of 10 obviously, but, you know, a 5 or 6 at least.

The servers are down because of the massive amounts of people playing it and bug fixes that are critical to the game.
But really, its a great game deep down. Its supported active people worldwide and made me walk 10 miles i wouldnt have.
Besides, who dosent like walking down the street and having some guy yell at you asking what team your on!
Try not to be so critical about the servers, theres millions-billions of people playing, its hard to keep up with that kind of server!

Cool, I see David made an exception for this game for having an Android/ios page.

Of course the game was going to have server issues, it's literally the quickest downloaded game ever. You had more people playing this game on the 1st day, than some of Nintendo's biggest games in heir lifetimes.

There have been bigger games who had had smaller problems yet had to be taken down for months because of it, so the fact that the servers were able to be fixed so quickly is very impressive.

I already put in more than 50 hours into the game, took trains to popular locations, and spent real money on the game, and I love it. The point of the game was never to play it where you , in fact, I read somewhere that the location marked as "Home" rarely has Pokemon ever, for instance if you live in the city, less Pokemon will pop up as opposed to someone who's visiting, and people who live in the city have to go outside of the city.

Just gonna say I don't get the big deal with the game at all. Or Pokémon in general for that matter. But the use of AR to place game creatures in the real world has been done several times and they go largely unnoticed but this game is ingenious because of it? :| I don't get it. I'm not cool enough I guess. Lol Just as long as some misguided soul doesn't start calling it revolutionary or innovative because... yeah that happens a lot with games. Overused ideas being labeled revolutionary because the games before them didn't have a big brand name slapped on them.

I've edited my score and review. As I mentioned in the edit, one of my friends mentioned that they patched the game, so it actually works for me now. Still think it's a bit over hyped, and it's just a so-so game overall, but not bad now that it's working better.

jokool : If anything, I wouldn't consider it a real Pokémon game. I like the idea of having a genuine, physical copy of a game whether it be a cartridge or a cd. (I know I know, big shocker considering that I'm on a site that offers emulators for free) This game is just so gimmicky. And not to mention, people who originally hated Pokémon have now decided to join the quest to Catch em all because it's the "hip and cool" thing to do. And worst of all, people are walking zombies; restaurants and businesses from around Canada and the US have to have SIGNS plastered on their entrance telling people to either buy something or get out. It's gotten so out of hand. Not even 2 months and I already want out.

jokool : Honestly, I'm excited about this. I don't have a smartphone, but this has really made me want to get one. Come on guys, this is about as close as we can get to actually going out in the world and catching real pokemon. And honestly, anything that could get my lazy butt up off the couch would be a good thing!

Something that people have to keep in mind is that this game is not a complete game. If you look at the version as of now, it is version 0.29.3. So it is basically a beta release of the game. Also, the developer spoke in Comic Con that they have only implemented about 10% of their ideas into the game so far. They are just dealing with the heavy stress of so many people logging onto the servers...and there's still more to countries to release the game. So this will continue to be an issue for quite a while.

But the popularity of this game is definitely predictable. Many people have been waiting for this since they were kids, to go, travel, find, catch, battle, trade pokemon. This game was set up without a lot of instructions, which makes players to form into a community of figuring out how to play the game and help each other tell people where a specific pokemon is spawning, even between different teams. They start off with the original 151, which many adults nowadays are familiar with and nostalgic with. Augmented reality technology is a cherry on top of being able to "see" pokemon in real life. All of these things make the game so popular and will continue to withstand for a couple of years, because we haven't seen everything yet. There are 700+ pokemon to date and they still have 90% of their ideas yet to be in the game.
