Geometry Wars 3. I have been playing it quite a bit these past few days and the game isn't quite infuriating. It's a lot of fun, but it gets to the point where you die in a level 30 times before you even clear it and you still get a bad grade.

I think almost everyone in the world can agree with that team games can be sometimes the most triggering and rage inflicting games in the world. For me it's League of Legends I swear that game has made me feel so many emotions from being flamed to flaming myself, dying on the inside, etc. And the community is just toxic in general believe me I know. I'm a part of the community. Don't play this game. But like if you do, play it with me.

Dragon Quest 8 Journey of the Cursed King. But I have been very persistent and trying not to rage quit....but, I've come close to doing so. There are many things that would make me to rage quit like level up your party members. You have to be very patient towards that also finding items I need to make in the alchemy pot which I find is the absolute worse ever.... @.@

After typing up my review, I remembered how difficult parts of Sonic Lost World on the 3DS was for me. I wanted to throw my 3DS so bad because the reason I kept dying was just stupid. I was so angry, I actually ended up selling the game, haha.

I didn't actually rage quit the game or anything, but it was frustrating beyond belief to try to play this game: Der hungrige Panda. If anyone can tell me the rules or how to play or just simply how to "finish" this game, then they'll have my gratitude. I spent hours trying to figure out what room led where, and in the end, I couldn't get my character unstuck from a certain corner, so I had to shut the game off to take a breather and think about what happened. rofl

It's been a long time since I've rage quit anything. I was angry about games when I was much younger and I remember the first Dragon Warrior for NES getting to me. I hadn't figured out 'grinding' yet because there was no internet to tell me to work up to and so level before going somewhere else. I kept fighting the Golem in front of the town of Cantlin. That Golem was tough, even with the fairy flute, and he kept killing me and I kept losing gold so I couldn't get the flame sword.

It killed me. I think I actually threw a controller for the first and only time in my life the third or forth time I lost to him. I remember taking a break from the game for a few months, going back and thinking, "Wait, let's try to get more HP by leveling up." That's when it hit me. I was probably 9 or 10 and I figured it out on my own.

Grinding, brought to you by the NES since the 1980s.

I rage quit Trackmania Turbo last year, around June or so, because the levels were getting silly. There was this one level where turbo pads were all through the level, either to speed you up or reduce your speed, which meant you had little control over the car's speed and thus you only needed to turn and time the jumps because the car could move almost on its own.

Out of boredom, I started playing it again in March and I somehow managed to get over said levels and progress further. I stomped a few times towards a level that made me want to rage quit because they were again silly, and I eventually dropped the game down last week because of a very silly level that made me lose my (very little) patience.

It's unlikely I'll play it again, even though I'm now beyond 90% of completion and just some 16 levels away from fully clearing it. I'd have to get some incentive to cope with those last levels if I want to have fun with that game again.

I could list a few, but I can't single one out. Most are older games from back in the day when they focused more on making a game difficult than on making them a special experience -- and no, I don't count the adrenaline rush after beating an insanely hard game a special experience, I call it a high.

Games from a bit ago that made me feel that way by name:
Tak 2. The final boss was ridiculous by design. Not only was it difficult, it was just bad design. You spent more time intercepting his attacks against your friends as it were (seriously, why protect or even care about Dead juju?) than actually fighting him. And the previous game's final boss wasn't a ton better. I finished both, but I didn't exactly enjoy it.

Shadow Dancer. Oh. My. Gosh. This game's final boss is ten times worse than any boss I have ever faced. I became so good at this game that I could make it to the final level on one life, leaving me with several lives and two or three continues which of course each gave two or three lives apiece.
I could beat the final level in one or two lives.
But that final boss?? I drained probably thirty+ lives on him several times.

It was just horrid design. With one hit deaths, you literally had to stand in the exact right spot during a fight AND defeat his seemingly never ending flood of goons at the same time. And every time the boss himself attacked, you had to find the next exact right spot to stand in and fight more baddies.
Seriously, that isn't a challenge, it's just being a wide guy and trying to make your game artificially difficult at the tail end so people make a big deal over it and hopefully create a following.

Contra. I actually beat this one once back in the day, but I've since tried it again a few times, and my goodness that was overly difficult. It isn't Shadow Dancer difficult, but what is?

And I could list more, but suffice to say I've faced quite a few infuriating games, even among modern titles.

Like many others, there are a couple of games that I've rage quitted in the past and most of them would be first person shooters ( I hate you Call of Duty, lol ) but I'm going with a racing game that I played solo. The game is Need For Speed: Shift 2 - Unleashed for the PS3.

When it comes to Need For Speed racing I'm usually a big fan, but this particular game really disappointed me. And if you know this franchise like I do, then you know that they love to use that "Catch-Up" feature. I absolutely despise this feature and I wish that they would just get rid of it already but I know that'll never happen. It never used to be a big problem in the past because you could just disable it in the options menu but nowadays you can't disable it at all.

It just came as a huge surprise to me because Need For Speed: Shift is one of my all-time favorite NFS titles. It was awesome and I believe it was their first track-based racing game ( similar to simulation, like GT ). Most of the time, I avoid the track-based racing games because they get a little too complicated with the upgrades and other customization features ( adjusting suspension, ride height, etc. ) which could ultimately decide whether or not you win a race. But NFS Shift kept it simple while still giving that simulation feel and that's what I loved about the game, and even though the Catch-Up feature got a little aggravating at times it wasn't anything serious.

Once NFS Shift 2 arrived, it looked to me like it was going to be the same type of game as the first but I was horribly wrong. I battled with this game from the very start and I got about half-way through the game before I gave up. It all came down to this one race, in which I knew I had the fastest car than any of the others involved. I'm not sure exactly what type of cars they were ( because this happened a while ago ) but let's say it was between Car 1 and Car 2. By testing both of these cars on a practice track, I knew that Car 1 would be able to drive 20mph faster than Car 2. But once I start the race for real and we hit the track, I wasn't even close to catching this guy in Car 2. So, I try to use Car 2 instead in the next race and now I can't even come close to Car 1, so I said "F**k it!" and stopped playing, lol.

I'm not sure what other players think about this game but I'm guessing they didn't like it either because NFS hasn't made another track-based racing game since then. It just goes to show that the Catch-Up feature doesn't go well with racing simulations.

Every time I returned to Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, I ended up rage-quitting at the exact same place. I found the first few areas of the game easy and fun enough. But for me, there's a fine line between "frustrating but fun" and "punishingly hard". What really didn't help was that I refused to look up a walkthrough so I made myself repeat the same cycle.

Eventually I just quit the game and I haven't touched it in at least 4 years!

Considering games I've actually played the whole way through and are recent enough for me to remember it would probably be Bloodborne. I died so many times playing through that game especially at the start when I was first getting used to it. Dying meant usually having to restart far away from where I was at and loosing all the blood echoes I had earned up until that point, this was usually the case like several times with bosses and many mini bosses or even just some areas that had a lot of mobs in them. There goes several levels of progress. All in all it meant I was rage quitting and coming back to it several times. Eventually I 100% completed it and by that time my save file showed almost 300 hours, and my actual play time is likely considerably more on the account of turning the console off in the middle of the game so many times. Honorary mentions go to Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix on Critical Mode and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories on proud mode, really any of the Kingdom Hearts games because I feel a need to always conquer them on the hardest difficulty (which is a lot harder than you would initially expect).

Gaplus is a classic video game I only play when I'm in an arcade or my dentist's office which has game machines. There are very good reasons why I stay away from that game so much.

For one thing, it's difficult to make progress in each level without getting a ship blown up first. No matter how hard I try and how strategic I become, it's the same result. That makes me want to walk away from the game and not return to it until months later.

The other thing is how quickly the difficulty escalates. The first couple levels are pretty hard, but after the first challenging stage it's brutal and I panic. Because of that difficulty spike, I only play the game for "fun" when I feel like it, not expecting to make progress. Also, the first challenging stage is really fun so that alone is worth the rest.

I could play it more since I have Namco Museum Megamix to play on my Wii U, but why bother unless I'm bored?

I actually rarely rage quit, usually only because they're caused by circumstances out of my control, such as game-breaking glitches, or extreme difficulty. The last game that I rage quit was Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, as I couldn't get past one of the late chapters for the life of me. I spent around 8 hours trying to clear that one chapter, and I couldn't, so I rage quit so hard I actually sold the game so I wouldn't try wasting my time just to lose again.

The one game for me I have rage quit the most must be COD. That games triggers my so much when I get killed more then three times in a row. I don't know why, just it how it is. Gladly I have stopped played it since I don't like the way they bring the game series.

I've been close to rage quitting Persona 5 a lot. The second last boss was ridiulously hard, and the final dungeon is nearly impossible for me.

Often times an enemy will attack, I'll be dead by the end of their first move.

Every time that I play MoonLighter I feel like rage quitting because of how difficult the game is. No matter how good you are, the dungeons are so evil.

Sometimes I will play for an hour and I'll die around 10 times and each time you die you lose all the items that you found.

It gets me so angry.
