I'm looking into buying a new hard drive for my PS4, and I'd like to get one with 4TB, but I can't seem to find a 4TB laptop hard drive, so I thought I'd ask in case someone on here knows: do they even make 4TB laptop hard drives? The biggest I can find is a 2TB, unless I get a memory bar to attach to my PS4 which will enable me to hook up a desktop hard drive, but I really don't want that thing sticking up from the top of my PS4 if I can avoid it. And yeah, a 4TB is probably necessary as I've went through 500GB in a year (440 actually), and I suspect I'll be using even more this next year now that I have fewer expenses and a little more income. Plus once I get a non-mobile source of internet I plan to buy some shows from PSN as well, so bye bye hard drive space. I'd uninstall some games but I'm not the only one using the system so it isn't as easy as uninstalling something I don't want to play anymore, also it takes me several days to download most games so having to redownload anything if I decided to play again would be a massive pain.

To clarify the hard drive should be 2.5 inches. I can give more information if needed.

Seagate has one, I think. It's a 2.5 SATA hard drive.

Juliet : Ah...it's too big. I just now looked it up after reading your post, and according to the guy in the comments (on Amazon) it's 15mm and I need 9.5mm. I have no idea how hard drives are measured, so I couldn't remember the exact measurements (just the 2.5 inches) while posting this.

Hm... are you searching for internal hdd? If so, there's none with 9.5mm size that's bigger than 2TB. If you wanna go higher than that, you'll need an external one.

Juliet : I see. Bummer. Yeah I was looking for internal, as external is not yet supported by PS4. Looks like I'll have to either wait for that or get the data bank after all. Also for what it's worth, an SSD would work too, but I'd hate to imagine the price tag on a 4TB SSD. Lol

Thanks for the help, I was getting tired of wasting my time running in circles searching for an answer on that.

No problem. Lol, you'd go bankrupt with a 4TB SSD. It's a hyperbole, but I know we both get the point. Samsung's 4TB SSD costs as much as a higher-end gaming laptop.
