Stealing is obviously very wrong. Why should we deprive someone of their precious belongings? It makes a fool of anyone, and inconveniences the victims. The worst thing is not knowing until it's too late. People can steal just about anything: Cash, electronics, vehicles, food, etc. It's a tough world. We usually aren't prepared for the worst-case scenario, so we have to be cautious, constantly. However, some might steal mistakenly or for other reasons, and who knows where that leads.

Have you taken anything from someone? Why might you have done it? Thank you for answering potently.

Nah, I wouldn't steal. Whatever I even could steal is definitely nothing worth going to jail over. Or at the very least, lose all my trustworthiness over. I hven't stolen from anybody except maybe my brothers and sister...And the stolen goods being chips, or some other food product. That's not TOO bad, right?

I never stole anything!....From a store. I did technically steal one thing from my mom: A million dollar bill. It was fake, yes, but I felt like I won the lottery in a way. I took that bill along with some fake 2 and 3 dollar bills, made a little slit in a box I found, and put the money inside. That was the only time I really stole anything. And I was 4 back then so luckily mom snatched me up and told me what I did wrong before I ever did anything worse. Now my sister has stolen before, but I won't go into that.

Really guys? Boooooring.

I think everyone has stolen something at some point. I know me and a few of my classmates from grade school would go to the local grocery store and rip off the pokemon trading card booster packs from the gaming magazines while nobody was looking. Sometimes we'd take chocolates as well and then we'd eat / look at the cards in the nearby park. Now we were quite the smooth criminals so we'd always go in two at a time to avoid suspicion, and we'd only take the cards from the magazines in the back of the pile.

Looking back at it we could've easily been caught if someone walked in on us but that never happened luckily.

Maybe when I was in, like, 3rd grade. But that's it. I don't remember another time I really stole anything. It was only a 1 dollar ice cream thing that they sold at the lunch room.

It has been a really really Long time since I have last stolen anything, and it was never anything big that I took, but yeah I used to. For one, ny roommate used to have this massive bag of coins, and I mean massive, so whenever I needed a coffee or something, I would take a few quarters out from there and he had so many that after a year he still never knew. Once when I was really young I took cheese from a supermarket. That's it really, mainly coins, whether it was in someone's drawer or on their bed or whatever.

I don't dare steal, since it will put me into serious trouble. Have I stolen anything in the past tho? Yeah, only once if I remember correctly, and that was a bottle of water in grade 1 from a friend

Furret : Actually, I think I can actually honestly say that I've never stolen anything before. I've thought about it, but never acted. I know I would steal food if I had to, though... Theft is wrong, yes. But shoplifting a pack of crackers and a can of Spam is a little less severe than carjacking lol. I'd feel bad about it, but I'd make up for it later. I always remember my debts.

Oh boy. I could probably write a 1500+ word essay on all the things I've stolen.

I've stolen clothes from outlet shops like North Face. Go into the dressing room and wrap the clothes flat around your waist and butt under some baggy pants, done deal. Just make sure to rip off the security tag thingy (in a way that it doesn't spray ink on you haha).
I've stolen plumbing parts from Home Depot to return for a gift card to re-sell someone else at half price (the first return you do there does not require a receipt, after that though they will start to catch on. Going from store to store may help you get away with it).
I've stolen food from gas stations when I was homeless just so I didn't have to try and sleep hungry AND cold in my car the entire night. Probably the only time me stealing was morally acceptable to an extent.
I've broken into people homes when I knew they were gone to steal stuff. We took everything we could carry easily that had any worth (jewellery, electronics, etc.). Not something I'm proud of.
I've stolen drugs from a handful or two of drug dealers I met through different circumstances. A few of them would literally put a bullet in my head if they ever found me lol. I've actually gotten a few different texts saying something along the lines of "I gotta 45 lookin for ya head, ***** " lol.
I've stolen money, jewellery, etc from my family before. When they would leave their purse or wallet unattended, I'd take as much as I thought I could without them noticing (at least right away). Or I would go into my parent's / sister's rooms and look through their valuables when they were gone and try to take what they wouldn't notice missing. Again, something I'm not proud of. I was extremely lucky to have a family that took me back in after I got myself cleaned up, through their charity I might add.

So yeah, that's the short and sweet version of how much I've stolen in my life. I could keep going, but you get the point. Please keep in mind I was strung out for about 8 years, so it's not like I
wanted to do it, I just couldn't control my addiction. Anyway, I'm not like that anymore, so hopefully you won't hold it against me

I believe I stole things from my Family back when I was fourteen, before that my parents Christian indoctrination was in overdrive, I acted like a model child because I didn't want to do anything wrong in the eyes of God.

GamingN00B : You stole the words right out of my mouth. I was going to make that reference but you beat me to it! You're under arrest for stealing my thoughts

Anyways, I'm sure that I stole a few items when I was a toddler (definitely not from a store though, I was always strapped to the cart so I was stuck!) but I don't remember and my parents barely ever bring up my toddler years. I have also stolen things from my friends and family like hats off their head just to mess with them. But I always give it back so I don't think that counts XD

I'm not going to lie but....I did used to still somethings in the past I can't remember the names sadly. But this was due to me not happy all the time because of my mother so I stole somethings I shouldn't have done. But now I don't since its something I did because I was unhappy. Also I was a young child at the time. So I made sure to stop doing it for good.

Nope, I've never stolen anything, not even from my friends or family members (they don't take from me either). To be precise, I've never actually thought about it, but it's probably because of certain people in my family that have a pretty strong sense of justice. They give more than they take, and if anything, I always feel indebted to them for always being so kind and giving, because they've been giving for all the years that I've been alive, but I'll never be able to reciprocate all of it (maybe only if I get a chance to see them again after this life). They often tell me to "pay it forward" and so I'll do my best with the batons of life that I've been given, but it still feels sad that I won't be able to repay them in full while they're still around.

In a way, I kind of feel that stealing from other people is practically placing a curse on yourself in the form of an invisible debt on your soul (okay, maybe it's not actually like that, but the way some people talk about it sure makes it sound like it's a curse based on guilt), so if at all possible, I will never willingly steal or do such things. And that I have not ever needed to steal or anything along those lines for all the years of my life... I chalk it all up to I've been very blessed thus far to have never needed to take such drastic measures, and I hope my work in real life will continue to supply me (and those I hold dear) with all that we need. For the people that have needed to steal in order to survive, I feel for them and hope that their sincere attempts to redeem themselves by giving back to the community will help others to eventually forgive them so that they can begin to forgive themselves.

Stolen is a strong word. I prefer "Borrowing without permission", followed by "selling on their behalf" with finally a "keeping the money warm for them" ;3

Although in all seriousness, there was only really one thing that people could truly say I stole with certainty. My brother and I saw this snooker table out front of someone's house, and we decided to nab it. Some young girls saw us and yelled "thief!" but we scurried away with our prize.

The perfect crime.

Although really in this context anything outside of anyone's house on the pavement normally indicates they do not want it any more and are perfectly fine with it finding another home, but still; only thing I've ever been called a thief for xP

I stole a girl's heart,(Metaphoricaly, not literally) Does that count?

But in all seriousness I've never stolen anything before, well... At least not without a reason, some guy in my class last year was being rude so I stole his math homework and held it ransom. I got a burrito out of it so it was worth it.

The only time I stole was last year, when my relationship with my mother was shaky. When she was busy or sleeping, I would go into her purse and steal any money I have found in it.

That was a while ago, and my relationship with my mother has improved, so I don't bother stealing from her anymore.

Other than that, I don't steal from anyone, even when I was tempted to just out of spite and anger.

There is a story I will share, that I laugh about now, but back then wasn't funny. I was about 5 or 6 years old, and this local grocery store in the town I grew up in had one of them penny candy section where you can get a variety of candy by the pound, or for 1 cents. Now this is back in 1994 or so, when things were cheaper, and so on.

Well one day I decided I wanted a free piece of candy, and I took a piece of candy. Now you know those hard candies that are in a strawberry type wrapper? They look like strawberries? Yeah that's what I stole, some call those the worst candy of all time, personally I like them, but I took a piece, and when I got home, I showed my mom the piece of candy, she asked where I got it, I told her, and I got in big trouble, because that was stealing. So the next time I went back to the store, I had to apologize, which I did, and never did it again.

Then many years later, when I was in high school, I ended up working at that store for about 2 1/2 years LOL. I think they knew I messed up, because at the time, I did actually think the candy was free. I was 5 or 6, I didn't know, but I did know after I got my ass beat lol.

The only times I remember seriously stealing something was when I was still in primary school.

I loved reading Donald Duck comics and was kind of poor at the time so couldn't afford to buy new ones most of the time. Back then I usually remained at school after the normal day ended and was often the last kid to be picked up because my mom was at work. The guy who was looking after me until my mom came to pick me up needed to go check something in the school library so I had to come with him. There I noticed a Donald Duck Pocket Book which I of course picked up and wanted to read. Since he was just passing through before time come for my mom to pick me up I couldn't. So what did I do?

I put it in my pants. We were there for a little while longer but they guy must've not noticed it or he probably would've said something so I guess I was at least good at hiding it. I eventually switched schools (which wasn't related to that at all). I felt really guilty and confessed to my mom like a year later and asked her to return it. She didn't really scold me much likely because she saw I was crying and already regretted it. It never was returned and in stead it remained on my shelf. I think eventually sold it along with my other comics and was never found out, they might've not even noticed in the first place considering it was a pretty big library and it wasn't exactly new looking.

The only other time I stole anything of value was at a flea market with my grandparents. I also stole Donald Duck comics in pretty much the exact same fashion. I think there were cameras there but I must've either been at a bad angle for it to pick me up or if they did it was too late as we left not long after. I also felt really guilty that time and regretted it shortly after.

These incidents both happened like 8-10 years ago. I think there's been some instance of me maybe taking a piece of candy from a store without paying for it but those pretty much don't cost anything so I didn't really feel guilty about it and barely even remember it happening. Since then I can't remember ever trying to steal anything of value. I was usually a quiet and pretty obedient child who wanted praise from adults not risk for them to be mad at me so it didn't really suit me even if I got away with it. I was hanging around people who stole for a while though which shocked me at the time since I was still naive and a had a pretty strong sense of justice. Now that I'm in a better financial standing I don't really have much reason to anymore either.

Which is probably for the better because I'd likely not be that good at being discreet and keeping a pokerface if I tried to steal anything now. I'd probably also feel really guilty about it afterwards.
