Are there any people who watch horror shows? Now this may be a weird question to ask since. I dunno if anyone has. And would like to know if people do. If so...what are the ones you watch? Or like watching? Please if you can say in details as if why. It can be a yes or no kind of answers. I am always looking forward to what people have to say. To learn more about a certain subject.

My parents always watch 'The Walking Dead'. Do you know what that is?

I've seen some very, very bloody scenes in there which literally gave me nightmares when i was 13.

And for those who don't know what it is: It's a TV-series where a group of humans are one of the last survivors of a huge zombie apocalypse. They try to fight the apocalypse, but the apocalypse fights back. And even worse: The zombies have something in their brain that makes them smarter, but they only listen to their nose and ears and the other senses are disabled a bit, i thought.


Now the series are coming to an end, but it's pretty exciting if you follow it like my parents do.

Sometimes I'm allowed watch Ash versus Evil Dead. It just depend on what is in it. I like Ash and one day want to wear the costume from the movies.

MrBeingcool1 : Yes I have watched that show. As for fear the walking dead. I haven't been up to date watching either of them for a while now. So...I dunno if I will go to watch it again. It depends though. Most people who watch it would know what its about. I like watching it for various of reasons.

No, absolutely not. I'm not really into horror stuff. I used to watch some, but grew out of it. I just really don't enjoy horror, and don't really see the benefit of watching it. I think it's OK to be horrified by certain things. But to seek out horror...well, I just think that tends to dull the senses and make us unhappy. I really, REALLY don't like the horror genre in general because much of it is exploitative. Unless that horror is coupled with a message of hope, it's pointless. But if it is, I think it can be valuable.

Eniitan : I love watching horror shows. That being said, it is difficult to say what classifies as a show in the horror genre. One show that freaks me out, in a good way, is American Horror Story. Each season is based in a different setting and has new crazy that occurs. ***SPOILER*** For example, last year the story was based in an old hotel that is infested with ghosts and demons that terrorize and kill whoever chooses to stay. This is only a very brief summary of what it is about, I didn't want to give away too much. Many times some of the same actors come back, but play as a different character. This is pretty cool because you get to see the people that you really liked from a previous season again, just as a different character.

A show that I would classify somewhat as a horror show is Supernatural. This may be my all-time favorite show. There have been so many story lines with this show. The name explains basis of what the show is about. There are two brothers that fight monsters in the realms of the supernatural. Again this just the smallest of information to explain this show. There are so many complex and intricate story lines that you will never get bored our tired of watching the show.

It is Ash from the old Evil Dead movies and xbox games. He tried to be a normal person again and hide away from deadites. But they found him so he has to go take care of it. I think season 2 starts in October.  My parents watch the episode first to make sure it is ok for me. If not they just tell me what happened and we try again next time.  It has a lot of funny parts too.

wolf742 : Yes! That's the type I like to watch. It kinda help with the long lost history part of it. And they would tell you the story from the beginning of how it happened. I watch ones called the scariest places on earth. I am really attached to this show because it is as well. What you posted about that's what the show is mainly about.

supernerd117 : I can see where you are coming from about viewing horror as desensitizing our senses, but it can also heighten our senses. Many of the people who love the horror genre does so because it is an adrenaline rush. I am one of these people. I can tell you now that my senses are nowhere near dulled from watching the horror genre, on the contrary it heightens them. Don't get me wrong, I can certainly understand that the horror genre is not for everyone and there is nothing wrong with that.

Nah, I don't see any interesting horror stuff. I only hear about those edgy poser shows like Walking Dead or American Horror Story.

I definitely do not like watching them. I know of a few ver popular tv shows that are considered to be horrors, but I'm never going to watch them. I'm rarely going to do anything horror related like play or watch horror games or movies unless I have a good reason. I have seen and liked plenty of horror movies but that's because the movies were actually good, great plots, greater acting. But you don't see that every time you see a horror movie, it's always jumpscares and repitition so I treat most shows the same way.

zanderlex : That's fine zander. Everyone is different. Its not as if I go and watch a whole bunch of horror stuff. Because most are pointless. And also find more of them not to the point. I only watch ones I feel are what I want to watch that interests me. And only a few does that. I have mentioned as you might have seen what I do watch. But horror movies are kinda different from tv shows. It doesn't show something to teach or something that shows anything useful. :/

wolf742 : The way I see it, that kind of rush is temporary. It's not the kind of rush that lasts. It's like crude humor, for example. You can laugh at it, but later on, the enjoyment you got from it is dulled. It's enjoyable for a moment, it could have a purpose, but on its own, it's not something that can bring lasting happiness. Same with alcoholism. Same with drug abuse. Same with pornography use. Those things provide highs that grow lesser and lesser over time. The consequences of those can be turned into good. We can appreciate the good better because we've gone through them...if we change for the better. But if we allow them to continue, they will bring us down.

I don't like watching horror of any kind, and that extends to TV shows. I rarely ever watch TV shows as it is, and when I do it's mostly just comedy or anime. But there is a horrorish type of TV show that I do want to watch. The Walking Dead . Which doesn't really count as horror, but I've heard good things about it (obviously xp). Then again I'm not one for zombies (heard good things about the story so that's why I'm interested) so maybe I'll never watch that.

ZeroTails : I understand like I said to supernerd. People have their own preferences of either liking a horror tv show or not. I rather take a more approach to the educational ones to watch. Like long lost history of many things I have yet to discover about the world.

supernerd117 : Whoa, you went a lot deeper than I expected you to go. You definitely bring up some very valid points. For me the temporary adrenaline rush is all I need to feel better, or increase how I feel. I also agree that there are some horror films out that are not worth watching. I don't watch horror movies or shows all of the time, but when I choose to I usually enjoy them.

About the shows I mentioned as being considered "horror" shows, they really aren't all that scary. They are more suspenseful and mysterious.

wolf742 : Cool! I mean, I'm definitely not objectionable to all horror. There's definitely some thought-provoking (and even humorous!) horror out there, that isn't simply out there for shock value. The hospital scene in Spider-Man 2 comes to mind. While it came from a director who specializes in horror, it wasn't just "in there just because". It made Doctor Octopus' redemption that much more satisfying (Spider-Man 2 is probably my favorite movie of all time). Edgar Allen Poe's work is also often thought-provoking. "The Casket of Amontillado" provides a horror story while giving insight into the protagonist (who is, in this case, the murderer). It's a disturbing read, but one that I feel can help deter people from murder.

Is Ghost Adventures really counted as a horror show? I don't know if it is or not, but if not, then no, I don't watch any horror shows. I barely watch TV at all. I honestly prefer horror movies over shows any day.
